• php proxy to local mercurial server

  I was wondering is it possible to create a php proxy to a server that listens onlu locally so that the php gateway is public and it directs everything to the server listening on localhost. This server would be mercurial's hg serve that listens only on 127.0.0.1 and php will do the authentication. Do You think it's possible to do? Anybody has an idea how to make a general proxy in php so that not only http get works, but also hg push? I know there are ways to host mercurial repo with auth, but it's on a plug computer and I don't have a lot of space for more apps etc.

  If i have DataGrid which looks like: Col 1 Col 2 ------- ------- 1 a 2 b 3 c ... ... n n Can the order be reversed easily without sorting? So that n is first, and 1 is last. I have custom sort implemented from this article, but sorting the same column twice in a row calls sorting function twice (which is slow), so just reversing the order should be faster and have the same effect.

• problem with squid and ecap for content analysis

  Hi, I need to inspect the content of a form before it is processed on the server. I am using squid proxy server with ecap adapter. In the adapter I can see the text typed in the text area but the content doesn't get to my jsp page when using an ecap adapter that allows me to take a look a the data coming in. I am using Squid proxy 3.1.10 with ecap adapter libecap v0.0.3 and Websphere App server 6.1. Anybody has some idea about what is causing this? Thank you, Cornel

• Reverse proxy for Tomcat

  I got following infrastructure. Site A - Tomcat. Can be access by url www.sitea.com Site B - php backend( or probably it will be just static html pages ). Can't be access directly. I want to forward all request comming to www.sitea.com/doforward/... (Tomcat) to php backend. And all other requests with other urls should be handled by Tomcat itself. I know i can add another web server in front of tomcat, for example nginx, and based on url forward request to php backed or tomcat backend. But i want tomcat to serve requests itself and forward it to another backend. Probably there are ready implementations for servlet containers like mod_proxy for apache. Thank you

  Currently, my code would construct the GWT form, which user would submit directly to openId (or any authenticaiton service). Such a method works fine. However, what if I had the gwt page server access the OpenID provider, is there a way/strategy for the server to mediate authentication between its client and the auth provider? I wish to know the answers with respect to GAE as the proxy and, regardless if GAE or Tomcat is the intended proxy, answers wrt Google Accounts OpenID OAuth If so, it would be wonderful if someone could describe the installation strategy.

• Reverse engineering and redistributing code from .NET Framework

  Once or twice I have been running into the following issue: Classes I want to reuse in my applications (and possibly redistribute) exist in the .NET Framework assemblies, but are marked internal or private. So it is impossible to reuse them directly. One way is to disassemble them, pick the pieces you need, put them in a different namespace, recompile (this can be some effort, but usually works quite well). My question is: Is this legal? Is this only legal for the classes of the Framework which are available as source code anyway? Is it illegal? I think that Microsoft marks them internal or private primarily so that they don't have to support them or can change the interfaces later. But some pieces - be it SharePoint or WCF - are almost impossible to properly extend by only using public classes from the apis. And rewriting everything from scratch generates a huge amount of effort, before you even start solving the problem you intended to solve. This is in my eyes not a "dirty" approach per se. The classes Microsoft ships are obviously well tested, if I reuse them under a different namespace I have "control" over them. If Microsoft changes the original implementation, my code won't be affected (some internals in WCF changed quite a bit with v4). It is not a super-clean approach. I would much prefer Microsoft making several classes public, because there are some nice classes hidden inside the framework.

• Reverse engineering a custom data file

  At my place of work we have a legacy document management system that for various reasons is now unsupported by the developers. I have been asked to look into extracting the documents contained in this system to eventually be imported into a new 3rd party system. From tracing and process monitoring I have determined that the document images (mainly tiff files) are stored in a number of 1.5GB files. These files seem to be read from a specific offset and then written to a tmp file that is then served via a web app to the client, and then deleted. I guess I am looking for suggestions as to how I can inspect these large files that contain the tiff images, and eventually extract and write them to individual files.

  I'm searching for a posibility to bypass the "Firewall" for 3-4 days. I've tried everything I know, so I ask here for a answer. We have no admin rights and the OS is Windows Vista There is an HTTP Proxy with NTML Authentication (only way to access the internet) It requires a username and password We use smart cards, in fact I have only a user number and a pin. Port 80 and 443 are open - I have an SSH server at home which is listening on port 443 The problem is that I need this proxy to connect to anything. Internet access only works in IE, Chrome, Firefox when I set the proxy settings to "use system proxy settings", "proxy-autoconfig (proxy.pac)" or when I enter the proxy inside the proxy.pac file. However I can't understand where they take the username and password which the Proxy requires. What I've tried was using cntlm to connect to the proxy with authentication (altought I have no PW and username) and PuTTY to create the SSH tunnel over port 443 whit the SOCKS Proxy which I've created with cntml. I've never found some SSH client which includes a "use system proxy settings" function.

  Hi I'm creating a game and I would like to be able to tell if a user is using a proxy. If they are than it basically puts a flag on their account. I can make it do the flag and all but I'm not exactly sure how to tell if a user is using a proxy. I've seen you can use headers but I'm not exactly sure which to look for and how you would check if a user "has" a header (besides the normal http_referrer and what not). Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I need to support the use of proxy on our application that is using WCF connections. We do not have any proxy server on our network and I don't want to disrupt our corporate network by requesting a proxy installation. I was thinking of installing a proxy server on a local virtual machine and configurating Internet Explorer so that it will challenge that proxy. I don't know what proxy software to use (I don't want to install ISA server) and I don't know how to configure one. Does someone have any suggestion for a easy to use software that will require an authentication for any WCF services and do you have any guideline that would be helpful to know when testing a software against a proxy?

• How to tell httpd to preserve the proxied error message?

  I have an httpd server proxying the requests to 2 different tomcat servers. One of my server handles the authentication and returns a specific http error code 521 when the user already have a running session. My issue is httpd automatically maps this 521 error code to a 500 (internal server error) and then my client can not handle it properly. I have tried to disable ProxyErrorOverride, to remove the /error/HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR.html.var but it does not changes anything. • Glassfish JSF/EAR Apache 2.2 proxy_ajp_mod Referred Content Missing (images/links/etc)

  Full disclosure: Since this seems to be more of a configuration issue, I deleted this from Stack (where it wasn't getting any response) and reposted here. The problem is how to change the requestContextPath served up by Glassfish behind mod_proxy_ajp. The site/app runs fine if connecting directly to Glassfish port 8080 which is ultimately not what I want to do. So I need help with configuration for my servers and jsf deployment. I can see the issue but don't know how to resolve it. It has to do with the requestContextPath. Simply put, Apache directs to http://mysite.com/welcome.xhtml which is correct and what I want, but the page is minus the images and styles. The issue is Glassfish itself is still pointing to http://mysite.com/myapp/*. So all links it serves in the app/site still refer via the requestContextPath. That is the /myapp/* part of http://mysite.com/myapp/welcome.xhtml. When I look in the page source, images which are referred to with relative links still point to the requestContextPath (that is, /myapp/). This is fixable but a real pain. However with page links I can't set the relative path. If I hover over the contact page link I see http://mysite.com/myapp/contact.xhtml, and if I click it, I get 404. You can see the /myapp/ context path in the page source as well. If I type in the URL http://mysite.com/contact.xhtml I get the page minus its referred links (requestContextPath). On Apache ProxyPass / ajp://littlewalterserver:8009/myapp-web/ ProxyPassReverse / ajp://littlewalterserver:8009/myapp_Project-web On Glassfish asadmin create-network-listener --listenerport 8009 --protocol http-listener-1 --jkenabled true jk-connector I have tried going in to Glassfish and setting the web app as the default web app. I have changed the / in glassfish-web.xml (and checked to make sure it was the same in the EAR file). How can I get Glassfish to not include the /myapp/ context in the URLs? This has to be easy if you know how, but I don't know how, can someone help out here? Thanks.

• Caching WCF javascript proxy on browser

  When you use WCF services from Javascript, you have to generate the Javascript proxies by hitting the Service.svc/js. If you have five WCF services, then it means five javascripts to download. As browsers download javascripts synchronously, one after another, it adds latency to page load and slows down page rendering performance. Moreover, the same WCF service proxy is downloaded from every page, because the generated javascript file is not cached on browser. Here is a solution that will ensure the generated Javascript proxies are cached on browser and when there is a hit on the service, it will respond with HTTP 304 if the Service.svc file has not changed. Here’s a Fiddler trace of a page that uses two WCF services. You can see there are two /js hits and they are sequential. Every visit to the same page, even with the same browser session results in making those two hits to /js. Second time when the same page is browsed: You can see everything else is cached, except the WCF javascript proxies. They are never cached because the WCF javascript proxy generator does not produce the necessary caching headers to cache the files on browser. Here’s an HttpModule for IIS and IIS Express which will intercept calls to WCF service proxy. It first checks if the service is changed since the cached version on the browser. If it has not changed then it will return HTTP 304 and not go through the service proxy generation process. Thus it saves some CPU on server.   Hi, We've spent the last two days trying to get squid 2.7 to work with ubuntu 9.10. The computer running ubuntu has two network interfaces: eth0 and eth1 with dhcp running on eth1. Both interfaces have static ip's, eth0 is connected to the Internet and eth1 is connected to our LAN. We have followed literally dozens of different tutorials with no success.   I have URLs like http://example.com/depict?smiles=CO&width=200&height=200 (and with several other optional arguments) My urls.py contains: urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^$', 'cansmi.index'), (r'^cansmi$', 'cansmi.cansmi'), url(r'^depict$', cyclops.django.depict, name="cyclops-depict"), I can go to that URL and get the 200x200 PNG that was constructed, so I know that part works. In my template from the "cansmi.cansmi" response I want to construct a URL for the named template "cyclops-depict" given some query parameters. I thought I could do {% url cyclops-depict smiles=input_smiles width=200 height=200 %} where "input_smiles" is an input to the template via a form submission. In this case it's the string "CO" and I thought it would create a URL like the one at top. This template fails with a TemplateSyntaxError: Caught an exception while rendering: Reverse for 'cyclops-depict' with arguments '()' and keyword arguments '{'smiles': u'CO', 'height': 200, 'width': 200}' not found. This is a rather common error message both here on StackOverflow and elsewhere. In every case I found, people were using them with parameters in the URL path regexp, which is not the case I have where the parameters go into the query. That means I'm doing it wrong. How do I do it right? That is, I want to construct the full URL, including path and query parameters, using something in the template.
