    I know this has been asked in a subtle different way before (Change the folder that Windows Explorer starts at), but I want to open the Windows Explorer on a folder that is on my desktop in Windows XP. What I am doing currently is: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,/n,Desktop\Folder But it redirects me to "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop\Folder" as a subfolder of c:\ How it looks in the explorer: Desktop |->My Documents |->My Computer | |->c:\ | |->Documents and Settings | |-><username> | |->Desktop | |->Folder *Shortcut puts me here* |->Recycle Bin |->Folder *I want to be here* Any ideas?

  • Vista: Alt + Shift + P opens Windows Media Player; how to delete this hotkey?

    I just bought a new laptop, and am having to learn Vista. (My desktop has XP.) I was just trying to set some shortcut keys, and wanted to use Alt + Shift + P for Anywho.com, but to my surprise Alt + Shift + P is already taken. It calls Windows Media Player. Now I like WMP and will use it a lot, but I want my Alt + Shift + P for AnyWho.com. BTW I have PC Magazine's Hotkey Detective 2 (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,5082,00.asp), but it doesn't show that Alt + Shift + P is taken. How to do this?

  • Mimicing Mac-style command/alt/control keys in Linux

    I absolutely love that Mac separates the command key from the control key, allowing OS shortcuts and text shortcuts to co-exist. It's incredibly useful, especially because it allows emacs shortcuts everywhere. I've searched almost everywhere for some kind of utility that can allow this and can't find anything. Any help? Note: I want to do more than just remap my keyboard. I want to actually split OS shortcuts and text shortcuts. The only way I can see doing that is to manually go through each shortcut in Gnome and Compiz and change it.

    Hi, I want to know if there is a short way to do the migrations down equivalent to rake db:migrate (for the migrations up). Instead of doing : rake db:migrate:up VERSION=1, rake db:migrate:up VERSION=2, ... we can do : rake db:migrate! But for : rake db:migrate:down VERSION=10, rake db:migrate:down VERSION=..., rake db:migrate:down VERSION=1, is there a shortcut? Tank you for your help!

    JAVA - NETBEANS This is an IDE question I am always working with collapsed methods, because I want to be able to see my methods all together. This is a little time consuming because I have to use the mouse to scroll up to the declaration of the method and click on the - (minus) icon. And then respectively go to the method I want to work on and click on the + (plus) icon. Is there a way through a keyboard shortcut to do the collapse (and respectively the expand)?

(I'm using RoR 3.0) The routes look like this. resources :countries do resources :regions do resources :wineries end end To access a winery route I want to be able to define a function that removes the need to specify a country and region each time. Like: def winery_path(winery) country_region_winery_path (winery.country, winery.region, winery) end Where should I do this? How can I get that to be available whereever url_for is available?

  • Laravel Forge SSH on windows not recognized

    I decided to try out the Laravel Forge, but I'm having trouble with the SSH keys. I use digitalocean.com for the VMs and have used SSH keys with success many times before. However when I paste my public key into Forge (which adds it to the server) I'm not able to connect to it. I use Putty and I get the following error: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey) Key was generated using puttygen and was added to pageant. I have tried using the very same key files as my other VM and tried creating a new one, but all without luck. I'm hoping someone can help me out here.     The question comes from when opening 'Run' in start menu (windows key+R) and enter system32 will open up an explorer and directly go to C:\WINDOWS\system32. Q1: how to make my own alias, so when I enter photos, it brings me to c:\photos Q2: Is there any way to use alias in windows explorer address bar similar to that?
