  Possible Duplicate: How do you convince your boss to buy useful tools like Resharper, LinqPad? I've recently started a new job developing code in C# and ASP.Net. At a previous employer I've used ReSharper from JetBrains and I loved it. I've downloaded the free trial in my new job, as have several of my new colleagues on my recommendation. Everyone thinks it's great. But now our trials are coming to an end and it's time to buy or say goodbye. I've been reliably informed that getting money for tools from senior management is like trying to get blood from a stone, so how can I convince them to loosen their grip on the purse strings and buy it for our team (of seven developers)? Does anyone have any experience of convincing management of the benefits of refactoring tools?   I recently registered a website : cinematrailers.net. I was aware that this domain was expired ( registered in 2007 until 2011) My question is when I go to view the registration date on this domain, it says 2012 instead of 2007. Why is that when it was clearly registered in 2007? And will this affect seo? I was under the assumption that the domains age would be great for seo, but now I'm not sure.

• Is it a bad practice to include all the enums in one file and use it in multiple classes?

  I'm an aspiring game developer, I work on occasional indie games, and for a while I've been doing something which seemed like a bad practice at first, but I really want to get an answer from some experienced programmers here. Let's say I have a file called enumList.h where I declare all the enums I want to use in my game: // enumList.h enum materials_t { WOOD, STONE, ETC }; enum entity_t { PLAYER, MONSTER }; enum map_t { 2D, 3D }; // and so on. // Tile.h #include "enumList.h" #include <vector> class tile { // stuff }; The main idea is that I declare all enums in the game in 1 file, and then import that file when I need to use a certain enum from it, rather than declaring it in the file where I need to use it. I do this because it makes things clean, I can access every enum in 1 place rather than having pages openned solely for accessing one enum. Is this a bad practice and can it affect performance in any way?

  I´m working on the design of a new game concept at the moment and I would like to know how to handle a customization of sprites. (In 2D that is, hence the topic.)
