  • Can you recommend a .net template engine?

    I am looking for a .net templating engine - something simple, lightweight, stable with not too many dependencies. All I need it for at the moment is creating templated plain text and html emails. Can anyone give me a good recommendation? If it helps at all - something like Java's Freemarker or Velocity libraries. [UPDATE] Thanks for the answers so far - much appreciated. I am really intested in recommendations or war stories from when you have used these libraries. Seems to be the best way to make a decision without trying each in turn.

  • Umbraco template issues

    Hi fellow Umbraco users, I'm currently building my first umbraco website and since I'm completely new to umbraco I've already ran into a problem which I'm sure is pretty straight-forward to do. That said, I'm by no means a beginner when it comes to building sites that run on a (open source) CMS as I've been using Joomla! since it was called Mambo. Anyway, the site I'm building is here: my site What I want to do is to have some content in the white box that changes when you mouseover/hover one of the menu items. Also that content has to stay "active" when you've clicked on a link (i.e. if you click on "Profile" I need to highlight the Profile menu item with the gray color and the white boxs content needs to be what would be related to the Profile menu item. How do I go about this? What would be the best practice when it comes to showing multiple content on a site? I've watched the video about multiple Content Place Holders, but I never really got it to work. I can't get a page to display in the NavigationPlaceHolder (the placeholder I put in the white box), but thats because the actual page is Frontpage.aspx and not WhateverIsInThenavigationPlaceHolder.aspx. If I go to the mysite.dk/WhateverIsInTheNavigationPlaceHolder.aspx it shows up fine. What have I missed here? :) Thanks in advance!     Hi there, since today - I always used simple JSP Tags and JSTL which works but now I'm looking for a little bit more features and maybe more usability. With googling I've found Freemaker, Velocity and Tiles which seem to be very famous. Does someone of you has some further experiences with some of these and can give me a short brief about it. Or are there other frameworks which are worth to look into?

    I just started playing with metaprogramming and I am working on different tasks just to explore the domain. One of these was to generate a unique integer and map it to type, like below: int myInt = TypeInt<AClass>::value; I want to know if this is at all possible, and in that case how. Because although I have learned much about exploring this subject I still have failed to come up with an answer. (P.S. A yes/no answer is much more gratifying than a c++ solution that doesn't use metaprogramming, as this is the domain that I am exploring)

    I'm trying to write an auto-scaffolder for Index views. I'd like to be able to pass in a collection of models or view-models (e.g., IQueryable<MyViewModel>) and get back an HTML table that uses the DisplayName attribute for the headings (th elements) and Html.Display(propertyName) for the cells (td elements). Each row should correspond to one item in the collection. So, I'd like to replace var items = (IQueryable<TestProj.ViewModels.TestViewModel>)Model; with var items = (IQueryable<T>)Model; or something to that effect. The <td> elements are not working because the Html in <%= Html.Display(property.DisplayName) %> contains the model for the view, which is a collection of items, not the item itself. Somehow, I need to obtain an HtmlHelper object whose Model property is the current item, but I'm not sure how to do that. How do I solve these two problems?

  • Android Template Application?

    I have built an application that I want to use as the foundation for a few other variants. The variants will come from assets / resource files and a unique AndroidManifest.xml. However, I want to be able to leave all the application code alone (modifying the package of all my classes, etc). I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do so. My first thought was to simply have my main application in its own package, and then specify the specific application package in the manifest. However, this gives me issues with the generated R.java class, since it is generated to be in the main application's package. Anyone have any thoughts on how to accomplish this? To have a code baseline, and the application variants happen in resources/assets and the manifest?

    I am trying to create a dynamic hyperlink that depends on a value passed from a function: {% for item in field_list %} <a href={% url index_view %}{{ item }}/> {{ item }} </a> <br> {% endfor %} The problem is that one of the items in field_list is "Hockey Player". The link for some reason is dropping everything after the space, so it creates the hyperlink on the entire "Hockey Player", but the address is http://126.0.0.1:8000/Hockey How can I get it to go to http://126.0.0.1:8000/Hockey Player/ instead?

  • Drupal - Search box not working - custom theme template

    Hello, I am using a customised version of search-theme-from.tpl When I use the search box, I do get transferred to the search page. But the search does not actually take place. The search box on the search results page does work though.     I have a list grouped by Region and it currently shows all the items for each city. I want to reduce to only the most recent advisory for each city. I have tried to use an xsl:for-each statement but I am messing up the names/parameters. List is called mlc The list contains the fields: Title City Region Advisory DateCreated TT (calculated number field to find the number of minutes from the DateCreated to end of today which I intended to use the smallest to find the most recent) I have the list grouped by Region and it currently shows all the items for each city.     I want to give default value to a textarea. The code is something like this: <textarea>{{userSetting.list | join:"NEWLINE"}}</textarea> where userSetting.list is a string list, each item of whom is expected to show in one line. textarea takes the content between the tags as the default value, preserving its line breaks and not interpreting any HTML tags (which means <br>,\n won't work). I have found a solution: {{userSetting.list | join:" " | wordwrap:0}} (there is no whitespace in the list). But obviously it is NOT a good one. Any help would be appreciated.

    I have /path/to/my/theme/static/css/frontend.css which is called by base.html <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{{ STATIC_URL }}css/frontend.css" media="all" /> In which I've got a background for the header: #header-wrapper min-width: 960px; height: 150px; background: transparent url(img/header-bg.png) repeat-x center bottom; } The file is /path/to/my/theme/static/img I've run manage.py collectstatic to gather the files and almost everything looks correct except the link generated looks like: http://example.com/static/css/img/header-bg.png In which the image does not show, because the correct URL is: http://example.com/static/img/header-bg.png Where am I going wrong??

    A constructor of a class can be a template function. At the point where such a constructor is called, the compiler usually looks at the arguments given to the constructor and determines the used template parameters from them. Is there also some syntax to specify the template parameters explicitly? A contrived example: struct A { template<typename T> A() {} }; Is there a way to instantiate this class? What is the syntax to explicitly specify the constructor's template parameters? My use case would be a problem were the compiler doesn't seem to find the correct templated constructor. Explicitly specifying the template parameters would probably generate more useful error messages or even resolve the problem.
