  • Have PL/SQL Outputs in Real Time.

    Is it possible to have Outputs from PL/SQL in real time? I have a pretty huge package that runs for more than an hour and I'd like to see where the package is at a particular time. Anyways, I currently do this with a log table, which gets filled up with hundreds of log descriptions per run, I'm just curious if this is possible. Thanks!

    Hi all, I want to upload excel file using SqlBulkCopy into sql server 2005 table. My excel file size is 43MB. When i am uploading this file it will display error message that "The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that exceeds the request content length.". My web.config file setting is <httpRuntime executionTimeout="12000" maxRequestLength="2097151" useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="false" minFreeThreads="8" minLocalRequestFreeThreads="4" appRequestQueueLimit="100"/> Thanks in advance.

    Taking over some code from my predecessor and I found a query that uses the Like operator: SELECT * FROM suppliers WHERE supplier_name like '%'+name+%'; Trying to avoid SQL Injection problem and parameterize this but I am not quite sure how this would be accomplished. Any suggestions ? note, I need a solution for classic ADO.NET - I don't really have the go-ahead to switch this code over to something like LINQ.

I have an SQL table (T_Visits), with the following columns: uniqueidentifier Visit_UID, uniqueidentifier User_UID, datetime Visit_DateTime, float Screen_w, float Screen_h, float Resolution = Screen_w * Screen_h varchar resolutionstring = screen_w + ' x ' + screen_h Now I want to get the maximum/minimum resolution each user had: Select User_UID, max(resolution) from T_Visits GROUP BY User_UID How can I get the corresponding resolution string ? I mean I can get the max(screen_w) and max(screen_h), but there's no guarantee that the corresponding resolutionstring would be max(screen_w) +' x '+ max(screen_h)

    I am getting the above error in my VS 2008 C# method when I try to invoke the SQL getColumnNames stored procedure from VS. This SP accepts one input parameter, the table name, and works successfully from SSMS. Currently I am selecting the AdventureWorks AddressType table for it to pull the column names from this table. I can see teh AdventureWorks table available in VS from my Server Explorer / Data Connection. And I see both the AddressType table and getColumnNames SP showing in Server Explorer. But I am still getting this error listed above.   • vb6 ADODB TSQL procedure call quit working after database migration

    This code was once working on sql server 2005. Now isolated in a visual basic 6 sub routine using ADODB to connect to a sql server 2008 database it throws an error saying: "Login failed for user 'admin' " I have since verified the connection string does work if i replace the body of this sub with the alternative code below this sub. I need the first row inserted every day for the past X days. one of my columns is a timestamp, which i hold the time inserted, and another column is the row id.
