  I'm trying to compile SoundTouch on Android. I started with this configure line: ./configure CPPFLAGS="-I/Volumes/android-build/mydroid/development/ndk/build/platforms/android-3/arch-arm/usr/include/" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-rpath-link=/Volumes/android-build/mydroid/development/ndk/build/platforms/android-3/arch-arm/usr/lib -L/Volumes/android-build/mydroid/development/ndk/build/platforms/android-3/arch-arm/usr/lib -nostdlib -lc" --host=arm-eabi --enable-shared=yes CFLAGS="-nostdlib -O3 -mandroid" host_alias=arm-eabi --no-create --no-recursion Because the Android NDK targets ARM, I also had to change the Makefile to remove the -msse2 flags to progress. Android seems to have neither stdexcept nor stdlib. How can I get past this block of compiling SoundTouch? At a guess, there may be some flag I don't know about that I should use. I could refactor the code not to use stdexcept. There may be a way to pull in the original stdexcept source and reference that. I might be able to link to a precompiled stdexcept library.

  Hi, I am trying to create a little helper application, one scenario is "file duplication finder". What I want to do is this: I start my C# .NET app, it gives me an empty list. Start the normal windows explorer, select a file in some folder The C# app tells me stuff about this file (e.g. duplicates) How can I monitor the currently selected file in the "normal" windows explorer instance. Do I have to start the instance using .NET to have a handle of the process. Do I need a handle, or is there some "global hook" I can monitor inside C#. Its a little bit like monitoring the clipboard, but not exactly the same... • How to make a Global Array?

  So, I read this post, and it's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. However... it doesn't work. I guess I'm not going to go with the singleton object, but rather making the array in either a Global.h file, or insert it into the _Prefix file. Both times I do that though, I get the error: Expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'static' and it doesn't work. So... I'm not sure how to get it to work, I can remove extern and it works, but I feel like I need that to make it a constant. The end goal is to have this Mutable Array be accessible from any object or any file in my project. Help would be appreciated! This is the code for my Globals.h file: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface Globals : NSObject { static extern NSMutableArray * myGlobalArray; } @end I don't think I need anything in the implementation file. If I were to put that in the prefix file, the error was the same.

  Hi, I've been trying to stream mp3's over http using Android's built in MediaPlayer class. The documentation would suggest to me that this should be as easy as : MediaPlayer mp = new MediaPlayer(); mp.setDataSource(URL_OF_FILE); mp.prepare(); mp.start(); However I am getting the following repeatedly. I have tried different URLs as well. Please don't tell me that streaming doesn't work on mp3's. • Is 1/0 a legal Java expression?

  The following compiles fine in my Eclipse: final int j = 1/0; // compiles fine!!! // throws ArithmeticException: / by zero at run-time Java prevents many "dumb code" from even compiling in the first place (e.g. "Five" instanceof Number doesn't compile!), so the fact this didn't even generate as much as a warning was very surprising to me. The intrigue deepens when you consider the fact that constant expressions are allowed to be optimized at compile time: public class Div0 { public static void main(String[] args) { final int i = 2+3; final int j = 1/0; final int k = 9/2; } } Compiled in Eclipse, the above snippet generates the following bytecode (javap -c Div0) Compiled from "Div0.java" public class Div0 extends java.lang.Object{ public Div0(); Code: 0: aload_0 1: invokespecial #8; //Method java/lang/Object."<init>":()V 4: return public static void main(java.lang.String[]); Code: 0: iconst_5 1: istore_1 // "i = 5;" 2: iconst_1 3: iconst_0 4: idiv 5: istore_2 // "j = 1/0;" 6: iconst_4 7: istore_3 // "k = 4;" 8: return } As you can see, the i and k assignments are optimized as compile-time constants, but the division by 0 (which must've been detectable at compile-time) is simply compiled as is. javac 1.6.0_17 behaves even more strangely, compiling silently but excising the assignments to i and k completely out of the bytecode (probably because it determined that they're not used anywhere) but leaving the 1/0 intact (since removing it would cause an entirely different program semantics). So the questions are: Is 1/0 actually a legal Java expression that should compile anytime anywhere? What does JLS say about it? If this is legal, is there a good reason for it? What good could this possibly serve?

  If I have in my model class a property of type DateTime how can I render it in a specific format - for example in the format which ToLongDateString() returns? I have tried this... @Html.DisplayFor(modelItem => item.MyDateTime.ToLongDateString()) ...which throws an exception because the expression must point to a property or field. And this... @{var val = item.MyDateTime.ToLongDateString(); Html.DisplayFor(modelItem => val); } ...which doesn't throw an exception, but the rendered output is empty (although val contains the expected value, as I could see in the debugger). Thanks for tips in advance! Edit ToLongDateString is only an example. • django generic view update/create: update works but create raises IntegrityError

  I'm using CreateView and UpdateView directely into urls.py of my application whose name is dydict. In the file forms.py I'm using ModelForm and I'm exluding a couple of fields from being shown, some of which sould be set when either creating or updating. So, as mentioned in the title, update part works but create part doesn't which is obvious because required fields that I have exluded are sent empty which is not allowed in my case. So the question here is, how should I do to fill exluded fields into the file forms.py so that I don't have to override CreateView? Thanks in advance.

  For learning (not practical -- yet) purposes, I'd like to use the following method on an NSDictionary to give me back a set of keys that have values using a test I've defined. Unfortunately have no idea how to specify the predicate. NSDictionary keysOfEntriesPassingTest: - (NSSet *)keysOfEntriesPassingTest:(BOOL (^)(id key, id obj, BOOL *stop))predicate Let's say for example all my values are NSURLs, and I'd like to get back all the URLs that are on port 8080. Here's my stab at coding that -- though it doesn't really make sense to me that it'd be correct: NSSet * mySet = [myDict keysOfEntriesPassingTest:^(id key, id obj, BOOL *stop) { if( [[obj port] isEqual: [NSNumber numberWithInt: 8080]]) { return key; }] And that's because I get back the following compiler error: incompatible block pointer types initializing 'void (^)(struct objc_object *, struct objc_object *, BOOL *)', expected 'BOOL (^)(struct objc_object *, struct objc_object *, BOOL *)' What am I missing? I'd appreciate a pointer at some docs that go into more detail about the "Block object" that the predicate is supposed to be. Thanks!

• Why will IIS 6 not serve my custom 404 page when I set the URL in 'Custom Errors'?

  I've got an ASP.NET MVC site & I've got an Errors controller with a NotFound action which works great for 404 errors that pass though .NET, but for stuff that doesn't (like static files) I've set the Custom Errors value for 404 to URL with a value of /Errors/NotFound. But when I do this & hit a non-existant page the site just gives me this: The system cannot find the path specified. Is this because it's a dynamic url, can IIS not redirect 404 requests to dynamic urls or have I screwed up the config somewhere?

• stack overflow problem in program

  So I am currently getting a strange stack overflow exception when i try to run this program, which reads numbers from a list in a data/text file and inserts it into a binary search tree. The weird thing is that when the program works when I have a list of 4095 numbers in random order. However when i have a list of 4095 numbers in increasing order (so it makes a linear search tree), it throws a stack overflow message. The problem is not the static count variable because even when i removed it, and put t=new BinaryNode(x,1) it still gave a stack overflow exception. I tried debugging it, and it broke at if (t == NULL){ t = new BinaryNode(x,count); Here is the insert function.   Is there a way to append something to the query string with no value set? I would like to see this kind of URL being generated: http://local/things?magic. What I'm looking for is when the user goes to http://local/other?magic then every URL in the generated page would contain magic in the end. Following code is almost a solution but it gives me http://local/things?magic=. There is an extra = that I don't want there. def default_url_options(options) if params.has_key?("magic") { :magic => "" } end end Setting { :magic => nil } will remove the magic entirely from the generated URLs.

If I click the button fast enough, I was able to get the result in continuous order (0,1,2,3,4,....) but sometimes it produces more than 2 same numbers (e.g. 0,1,2,3,3,3,4,5,6,6,6,7,8,9,...)

  I'm trying to run an ATM Simulation in C# with Windows Forms that can have more than one instance of an ATM machine transacting with a bank account simultaneously. The idea is to use semaphores/locking to block critical code that may lead to race conditions. My question is this: How can I run two Forms simultaneously on separate threads? In particular, how does all of this fit in with the Application.Run() that's already there?   Hi, i have a .net mobile web site where i use sesion state and due to nature of mobile networks/phones (not all supports session cookies) i had to use <sessionState cookieless="AutoDetect"/> It works fine but because each new session redirected with "AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1" i have a feeling that google won't like this. Here is a small sample from my server logs supportForumReadTopic.aspx id=38 80 - 66.249.71.80 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Googlebot/2.1;++http://www.google.com/bot.html) 302 supportForumReadTopic.aspx id=38&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Googlebot/2.1;++http://www.google.com/bot.html) 200 As you see each new hit from google will get 302 to itself. I have a genericmozilla5.browser file where i define google bot as cookie supporting browser in order to get .net not to use cookieless urls but not sure how this 302 would effect me. Any one had smilar exprience? Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks

  I am using BuildManager Class to Load a dynamically generated ASPX File, please note that it does not have a corresponding .cs file. Using Following code I am able to load the aspx file, I am even able to loop through the control collection of the dynamically created aspx file, but when I am assigning values to controls they are not showing it up. for example if I am binding the value "Dummy" to TextBox control of the aspx page, the textbox remains empty.   I need to make a little JS app to scroll automatically through a list of URLs. I've chosen to have the functionality in a pop-up, for various reasons. The syntax to change the opening window's URL is: window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example.com"; This works fine with one URL, but if two statements are called, only one is executed. I experimented with an alert statement between two of the above statements, and the alert event made the second statement function properly: window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example1.com"; alert("hello world"); window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example2.com"; Question is: does anyone know how to get the first and second window.opener statements to work, without the intervening alert();? Also, how can I add a pause between the two statements, so that the second executes a couple of seconds after the first? Thanks so much!

• How can I use "Dependency Injection" in simple php functions, and should I bother?

  I hear people talking about dependency injection and the benefit of it all the time, but I don't really understand it. I'm wondering if it's a solution to the "I pass database connections as arguments all the time" problem. I tried reading wikipedia's entry on it, but the example is written in Java so I don't solidly understand the difference it is trying to make clear. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_injection ). I read this dependency-injection-in-php article ( http://www.potstuck.com/2009/01/08/php-dependency-injection/ ), and it seems like the objective is to not pass dependencies to an object directly, but to cordon off the creation of an object along with the creation of it's dependencies. I'm not sure how to apply that in a using php functions context, though. Additionally, is the following Dependency Injection, and should I bother trying to do dependency injection in a functional context?   I have CSV file with sample data in this form : 220 30 255 0 0 Javascript 200 20 0 255 128 Thinking in java , where the first column is height, second thickness, next three are rgb values for color and last one is title. All need to be treated as separate variables. I have already written my own solution for this, but I'm wondering if there are no better/easier/shorter ways of doing this. Extracted data will then be used to create Book object, throw every Book into array of books and print it with swing. What sets them apart from eachother? • python foursquare - SSL3 certificate verify failed

  I'm trying to make a userless request to the Foursquare API using Mike Lewis' Python wrapper - https://github.com/mLewisLogic/foursquare: client = foursquare.Foursquare(client_id=Client_ID, client_secret=Client_Secret) categs = client.venues.categories() Intermittently, I get a "Error connecting to Foursquare API" msg. Running a logger to catch a more detailed message produces: "SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed" This didn't use to happen and occurs both on my local Windows development machine and on a server running ubuntu. Am I missing something basic here about security certificates? The problem is intermittent and sometimes just leaving it a minute and retrying fixes the problem temporarily. I've downloaded the latest 20120716 version of the wrapper although in the code for init.py it still says API_VERSION = '20120608'. I'm using Python 2.73 and have also signed up for the Foursquare API key, using the id and secret in the above code. I listed the urls, using my local IP:8000 and tried using separate keys for the local and dev machines but this seems to make no difference. Help much appreciated. Thanks.

• Best pattern to load enumerated values from DAL using WCF RIA Services

  I would like to be able to load several RIA entitysets in a single call without chaining/nesting several small LoadOperations together so that they load sequentially. I have several pages that have a number of comboboxes on them. These comboboxes are populated with static values from a database (for example status values). Right now I preload these values in my VM by one method that strings together a series of LoadOperations for each type that I want to load. For example: public void LoadEnums() { context.Load(context.GetMyStatusValues1Query()).Completed += (s, e) => { this.StatusValues1 = context.StatusValues1; context.Load(context.GetMyStatusValues2()).Completed += (s1, e1) => { this.StatusValues2 = context.StatusValues2; context.Load(context.GetMyStatusValues3Query()).Completed += (s2, e2) => { this.StatusValues3 = context.StatusValues3; (....and so on) }; }; }; }; While this works fine, it seems a bit nasty. Also, I would like to know when the last loadoperation completes so that I can load whatever entity I want to work on after this, so that these enumerated values resolve properly in form elements like comboboxes and listboxes. (I think) I can't do this easily above without creating a delegate and calling that on the completion of the last loadoperation. So my question is: does anyone out there know a better pattern to use, ideally where I can load all my static entitysets in a single LoadOperation?
