  I have a really basic stupid easy question about sql... and I'll probably get -100 points... but here it goes anyway... Is there a way using sql 2008 Management Studio to look at the queries that hit the server? I'm trying to debug a program and I get messages like "Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'AND'". Since the queries are being dynamically generated it's a hassle to figure out what is going to the server. Any help is appreciated!

  Hi All, I am trying to identify a method for obtaining nearby wifi access points using C in Windows. I am coding in Visual Studio 2010. I have read the necessary documentation but am lacking in guidance on how to implement code that would accomplish this. I am specifically interested in obtaining the MAC address of nearby access points or at a minimum the MAC address of the currently connected Wifi access point. Is it possible to do this using WMI in Windows, specifically on Windows XP SP3 and later? Any pointers on how to do this are greatly appreciated.

• How to find out where my memory is going

  I've got the situation where the cycle of loading and then closing a document eats up a few Mb of RAM. This memory isn't being leaked as something owns it and cleans it up when the app exits (Visual Leak Detector and the Mac Leaks tool show agreement on this). However, I'd like to find out where it's going. I'm assuming it's some sort of cache in the application that gets populated when the document loads but not freed when the document is closed. Which methods or tools could I use to find out where these allocations are being made?

I would expect it to give me field1 and field2 as options, but it doesn't. I DO get field1 and field2 if I type "val2." so intellisence works when I create a new object of the same type that I specify in the param comment. Any ideas what I am doing wrong or is this just not supported?

• Where can I find the project templates for ASP.NET MVC 1.0?

  I would like to edit the ASP.NET MVC templates for Visual Studio so that any new action or controller created has a specific piece of code within it by default. For instance, I'd like to replace the generated: public ActionResult MyAction() { return View(); } with a specific coding standard we prefer to use within in my team. eg: public ActionResult About() { try { DoStuff(); return View(); } catch(Exception) { HandleException(); } } I've looked through the filesystem, but I cannot find anything specific that relates to the ASP.NET mvc templates. Anyone know where they are?

• How can I clone a .NET solution?

  Starting new .NET projects always involves a bit of work. You have to create the solution, add projects for different tiers (Domain, DAL, Web, Test), set up references, solution structure, copy javascript files, css templates and master pages etc etc. What I'd like is an easy way of cloning any given solution. If you use copy/paste, the problem is that you need to then go through renaming namespaces, assembly names, solution names, GUIDs etc. Is there a way of automating this? Something like this would be great: solutionclone.exe --solution=c:\code\abc\template.sln --to=c:\code\xyz --newname=MySolution I'm aware that Visual Studio has project templates, but I've not seen solution templates. Ideas welcome, thanks in advance folks!

  So I have two projects, A and B, where B is dependent on A (A is a library, while B is a console application). A uses the boost library, and has been configured to include the header and library files, but B has not. Visual studio throws an error saying the Boost Header files cannot be found (in project B). For example: error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'boost/asio.hpp': No Such file or directory [Project: B] My question is: Is there a way such that B does not have to include the Boost library as well?

  I've just started experimenting with WPF templates vs. styles and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The goal below is to alternate the colors of the options in the menu.   Hi, I'm trying to convert a FreeType2 bitmap to a System::Drawing::Bitmap in C++/CLI. FT_Bitmap has a unsigned char* buffer that contains the data to write. I have got somewhat working save it disk as a *.tga, but when saving as *.bmp it renders incorrectly. I believe that the size of byte[] is incorrect and that my data is truncated. Any hints/tips/ideas on what is going on here would be greatly appreciated. Links to articles explaining byte layout and pixel formats etc. would be helpful. Thanks!! C++/CLI code. • Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and XHTML 1.1 (not applying)

  Hello. I may be missing something since I'm not used to work with IDEs for web development, so please understand if I'm doing something stupid. I've picked a copy of Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 in C# and VB to try and learn this thing quickly. I'm no HTML guru, but I know something about the DTDs and I want to either use XHTML 1.0 Strict or XHTML 1.1 while learning the ins and outs of ASP.NET. Following the book (just started actually), I'm not having any trouble understanding the concepts, since I have a C# background, but what I don't understand is how VWD goes about applying the schema you select for validation. The book explains that the drop-down list on the toolbar is enough to set this, so that's what I did: I've selected XHTML 1.1 (since there is no 1.0 strict option, what I find really odd) and then started the project. The thing is that the code generated automatically for the Default page had the XHTML 1.0 transitional DTD. Every other page added had the same DTD, even though XHTML 1.1 is still the selected schema in the drop-down list. I decided to test it out and there it was: inserting some text in the design view and then applying a bold formatting just inserted < b tags on the code. Changing color does add a span tag with added CSS though. What I want to know is: if I want strict XHTML (or 1.1) should I just code it manually? Or is there a "fix" for this problem (having a schema selected but not applied by the IDE)? Am I missing something really easy and dumb? I have no problem with coding it manually - I actually prefer doing that. The thing is that I really wanna try this WYSIWYG approach for once, since some developers swear by it. Plus I don't know yet if I'll need special tags for ASP.NET, so I think having them inserted automatically should be the best practice. I couldn't find any similar problems around (MSDN, Google, here), and as far as the book goes (up to the point I've read), this is the expected VWD behavior, which I find suspect at least. For those who are familiar with NETMF, this is a heavily modified version of the "webClient" example, which a simple application that demonstrates how to submit an HTTP request, and recive a response. In the sample, it simply prints the response and returns void,. In my version, however, I need it to return the HTTP response. • TFS - Rebinding solution to new TFS when prior TFS no longer available

  The prior instance of TFS I was using is no longer available and I have a test project I want to bind to the new instance of TFS. However, when I try to add the solution to source control, the error message tells me that the collection is not available on the server. I have deleted all old source control files, and it still has the old bindings somewhere. Does anyone know how to remove ALL bindings so I can just simply start over again with a new instance of TFS? • TFS webtest for SSRS reports issue

  I am creating webtests in TFS and trying to test reports execution in SSRS. When I record the initial process, it includes Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd files. These files are what is causing the problem. When I remove the files, the report does not display, however if I keep the AXD files in it works fine. The problem with keeping the AXD files is the reportsession querystring variable that are included. If I run the report after a bit the reportsession has obviously changed. Any help is appreciated.
