• Embedding an offline Dashcode application in a UIWebView in an iPhone application

  In order words, can anyone tell me the basics of how to create a "hybrid" iPhone application? I want to load the web content (the Dashcode app itself) from the native application's application bundle. I've gotten this to partially work, but some content won't display and it otherwise seems like Dashcode is assuming a certain Safari environment or something that I don't seem to have in my UIWebView. Can anyone provide a link to some sample code that embeds a Dashcode project into a cocoa touch Xcode project? (I did search around Google for a bit trying to find something and I failed to come up with anything worthwhile, except for some books that I might eventually buy if the approach seems worthwhile.)

• Inheritance of templates in WPF

  I'm trying to make sure that every child of a given element (MPF.MWindow) gets custom templates. For instance, the button should get the template defined in resMButton.xaml. However, it isn't applied at all. My buttons remain normal, and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I just want every button inside the MWindow to get a special style (and in time every textbox and so forth). How do I achieve this? One note though: It's important that the styles doesn't apply to elements outside an MWindow.

• Webkit iPhone App : How to dynamically change the user zoom (or scale, pich & zoom) in the viewport

  I use JQTouch for an iPhone app. JQtouch disable by default the possibility to pinch&zoom the page. For one page (containing a big image), i need to enable the pinch & zoom feature. This is easy : var viewport = $("head meta[name=viewport]"); viewport.attr('content', 'width=320, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=10.0, minimum-scale=1, user-scalable=1'); But after user has play with the pinch & zoom, I need to dynamically reset the zoom (scale) to the default. I tried to reset the viewport: viewport.attr('content', 'width=320, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=0;'); After calling the above code, it's not possible to zoom anymore (because of user-scalable=0;), but it doesn't change the current scale to the default. I am looking for something like setScale(1), or to change an attribute like current-scale=1 Any idea ?

  We have JSF web application that generates XLS file and gives user link to thes file. All works fine if access this file via HTTP. But IE(8) cannot open/save this xls file via HTTPS. There is following error message: Internet Explorer cannot download ...466088C5C313F92808BDB0AFF3447 from testhost. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. I can open the same document via HTTPS in Firefox and in Chrome. What can be the problem with IE? I have something like this Views Def ViewA ViewB Test ViewC I want to ViewC to display ViewA, which displays ViewB. • jqgrid scrollable dialog

  I have a jqGrid that has add/edit dialogs with a form that's longer than the dialog height but the dialog won't scroll. I've tried to add an overflow: auto style to the dialog but no effect: $("div.ui-jqdialog-content").css("overflow", "auto"); Although, if I change auto to scroll, I at least see a scrollbar but still no scrolling: $("div.ui-jqdialog-content").css("overflow", "scroll"); This at least gives me a small glimmer of hope that I'm on the right track.   I have an application that will record and play audio files. Some of the audio files are downloaded using simple standard http downloads using httpclient. It worked like a charm for a long time. Now all of a sudden I cannot play the files I download. It fails with this stack. I store the files on the SDCard and I experience the problem both on a handset and a USB connected device. I have checked that the downloaded file is cool on the server, and I can play it without any issues. • Fluid CSS: floating column with max-width and overflow

  I'm using a fluid layout in the new theme that I'm working on for my blog. I often blog about code and include <pre> blocks within the posts. The float: left column for the content area has a max-width so that the column stops at a certain maximum width and can also be shrunk: +----------+ +------+ | text | | text | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | +----------+ +------+ max shrunk What I want is for the <pre> elements to be wider than the text column so that I can fit 80-character-wrapped code without horizontal scroll bars. But I want the <pre> elements to overflow from the content area, without affecting its fluidity: +----------+ +------+ | text | | text | | | | | +----------+--+ +------+------+ | code | | code | +----------+--+ +------+------+ | | | | +----------+ +------+ max shrunk But, max-width stops being fluid once I insert the overhanging <pre> in there: the width of the column remains at the specified max-width even when I shrink the browser beyond that width. Admittedly, I don't have a full grasp of how the box model works with floats with overflowing content, so I don't understand why the combination of float: left on the container and the <pre> inside it cripple the max-width of the container. I'm observing the same problem on Firefox/Chrome/Safari/Opera. IE6 (the crazy one) seems happy all the time. This also doesn't seem dependent on quirks/standards mode. Update I've done further testing to observe that max-width seems to get ignored when the element has a float: left. I glanced at the W3C box model chapter but couldn't immediately see an explicit mention of this behaviour. Any pointers?

• Open flash chart not working

  I'm trying to implement Open Flash Chart in my website but it doesn't work. The chart just start loading for a second and the loader animation disappear and nothing happening (Only a black swf area). i've downloaded the latest version which is 2 and here is my folders scheme: // ROOT // ?   I am representing a Solar-System's planets with ImageButtons that show the planet's image on the surface of the button, and hold the planet's important data.. name, distance from sun, etc within an instance of a Planet class, stored within the ImageButton.Content property. When the ImageButton is selected, I am attempting to access and display the Planet class's data for the selected Planet. Although ((ImageButton)e.OriginalSource).Content permits viewing all of the Planet class's properties in the debugger, I haven't figured out how to access the Planet class properties directly, as in Pluto.DistanceFromTheSun? Is it possible to access the Planet class information held in the ImageButton contents directly?

• PHP file download header

  I have developed a small download system in PHP, where files are downloaded through a proxy file. When I had to do this before, I just redirected by changing the location header; which is not what I want to do now. So, obviously, the first issue that appeared is what kind of header must I set. First of all, Content-Disposition is set as "attachment", so this is good, but I can't seem to get around Content-Type. I need to set it to fit all possible files that might be downloaded through this system. I don't know how to detect the file header automatically, and I'm trying to aviod a GIANT switch. What are my options? Thanks!

  This question relates to the OpenGL ES 2.0 Extension EXT_discard_framebuffer. It is unclear to me which cases justify the use of this extension. If I call glDiscardFramebufferEXT() and it puts the specified attachable images in an undefined state this means that either: - I don't care about the content anymore since it has been used with glReadPixels() already, - I don't care about the content anymore since it has been used with glCopyTexSubImage() already, - I shouldn't have made the render in the first place. Clearly, only the 1st two cases make sense or are there other cases in which glDiscardFramebufferEXT() is useful? If yes, which are these cases?

• How to set viewport meta for iPhone that handles rotation properly?

  So I've been using: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0;"/> to get my HTML content to display nicely on the iPhone. It works great until the user rotates the device into landscape mode, where the display remains constrained to 320px. Is there a simple way to specify a viewport that changes in response to the user changing the device orientation? Or must I resort to Javascript to handle that?

  I have a PHP class that helps me generate URLs for custom charts using Google Chart service. These URLs work fine when I load them in my browser, but I'm trying to pull them using CURL so I can access the charts on secure https websites. Whenever I try and pull a chart via CURL, I get an Error 400 Bad Request. Any idea on how to get around this? • How do I make silverlight button transparent while showing the image?

  I have a button that is programatically created, it's content is a stack panel with an image and a textblock. This all works great. I want to make the button behind the image and text transparent, so that the image and text looks like it's sitting on the background, but still have all the properties of the button (i.e. someone clicks in the button region it still registers the button click event). I have been playing with opacities, but every opacity I play with dealing with the button seems to set the whole button (image and text included) to that opacity value as well. How can I make the button opaque while making the text and image content still visible? Oh, this is silverlight 3. Thanks in advance.
