  • Ruby: what the hell does this code saying ????

    - by wefwgeweg
    i discovered this in a dark place one day...what the hell is it supposed to do ?? def spliceElement(newelement,dickwad) dox = Nokogiri::HTML(newelement) fuck = dox.xpath("//text()").to_a fuck.each do |shit| if shit.text.include? ": " dickwad << shit.text.split(': ')[1].strip + "|" else if shit.text =~ /\s{1,}/ or shit.text =~ /\n{1,}/ puts "fuck" else dickwad << shit.text.squeeze(" ").strip + "|" end end end dickwad << "\n" end def extract(newdoc, newarray) doc = Nokogiri::HTML(newdoc) collection = Array.new newarray.each do |dong| newb = doc.xpath(dong).to_a #puts doc.xpath(dong).text collection << newb end dickwad = ""; if collection.length > 1 (0...collection.first.length).each do |i| (0...collection.length).each do |j| somefield = collection[j][i].to_s.gsub(/\s{2,}/,' ') spliceElement(somefield, dickwad) end newrow = dickwad.chop + "\n" return newrow.to_s end else collection.first.each do |shit| somefield = shit.to_s.gsub(/\s{2,}/,' ') spliceElement(somefield, dickwad) puts somefield + "\n\n" #newrow = dickwad.chop + "\n" #puts newrow #return newrow.to_s sleep 1 end end

  • Recognizing terminals in a CFG production previously not defined as tokens.

    - by kmels
    I'm making a generator of LL(1) parsers, my input is a CoCo/R language specification. I've already got a Scanner generator for that input. Suppose I've got the following specification: COMPILER 1. CHARACTERS digit="0123456789". TOKENS number = digit{digit}. decnumber = digit{digit}"."digit{digit}. PRODUCTIONS Expression = Term{"+"Term|"-"Term}. Term = Factor{"*"Factor|"/"Factor}. Factor = ["-"](Number|"("Expression")"). Number = (number|decnumber). END 1. So, if the parser generated by this grammar receives a word "1+1", it'd be accepted i.e. a parse tree would be found. My question is, the character "+" was never defined in a token, but it appears in the non-terminal "Expression". How should my generated Scanner recognize it? It would not recognize it as a token. Is this a valid input then? Should I add this terminal in TOKENS and then consider an error routine for a Scanner for it to skip it? How does usual language specifications handle this?

  • poblems with jquery code

    - by Michael
    Another jquery issue... I have tried this several times using "class" and "id" elements and I can not get it right. I am hoping the brains on stackoverflow can help! The problem that I am having is when I open the page all elments are closed. When I click on one link all links open. I believe it closes correctly the problem is that when I open the first link all items open. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Bid Items</title> <link href="bid.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="jquerry/js/jquery.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent').show('slow'); }); $('a#close').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent').hide('slow'); }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent2').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent2').show('slow'); }); $('a#close2').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent2').hide('slow'); }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent3').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent3').show('slow'); }); $('a#close3').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent3').hide('slow'); }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $('#showhideconent4').hide(); $('a').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent4').show('slow'); }); $('a#close4').click(function(){ $('#showhideconent4').hide('slow'); }) }); </script> </head> <body class="oneColElsCtr" onload="MM_preloadImages('Assignment4b.jpg')"> <div id="container"> <div id="mainContent"> <h1>Bid Page</h1> <h1>Coke Memorbila</h1> <a href="#" id="click">Amber Bottle 1914</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent"> <p><a href="coke/Amber1914.shtml"><img src="amber1914.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="Amber Coke" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> <a href="#" id="click">Amber Bottle 1915</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent2"> <p><a href="coke/Amber1915.shtml"><img src="coke/Amber1914.shtml" width="200" height="200" alt="Amber Bottle 1915" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close2">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> <a href="#" id="click">Green 1929</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent3"> <p><a href="coke/green1929.shtml"><img src="green1929.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="Green 1929" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close3">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> <a href="#" id="click">1970s Cans</a> <div id="box" align="center"> <div id="showhideconent4"> <p><a href="coke/tincans.shtml"><img src="coke_tincan.jpg" width="200" height="200" alt="Tin Cans" /></a></p> <p><a href="#" id="close4">Close</a> </p> </div> </div> </body> </html>

  • What is your favourite cleverly written functional code?

    - by sdcvvc
    What are your favourite short, mind-blowing snippets in functional languages? My two favourite ones are (Haskell): powerset = filterM (const [True, False]) foldl f v xs = foldr (\x g a -> g (f a x)) id xs v -- from Hutton's tutorial (I tagged the question as Haskell, but examples in all languages - including non-FP ones - are welcome as long as they are in functional spirit.)

    var accordion = document.createTextNode(tp.getAccordionContent()); var el = document.createElement("div"); el.appendChild(accordion); document.getElementById("gp").appendChild(el); tp.getAccordion() function returns me a string like < div .... and it is being decoded. All I want is to get it encoded and implement the div which has an id = gp with that data. any help and advises would be greatly appreciated.

  • C++ simple logging class with UTF-8 output [code example]

    - by Andrew
    Hello everyone, I was working on one of my academic projects and for the first time I needed pure C++ without GUI. After googling for a while, I did not find any simple and easy to use implementation for logging and created my own. This is a simple implementation with iostreams that logs messages to screen and to the file simultaneously. I was thinking of using templates but then I realized that I do not expect any changes and removed that. It is modified std::wostream with two added modifiers: 1. TimeStamp - prints time-stamp 2. LogMode(LogModes) - switches output: file only, screen only, file+screen. *Boost::utf8_codecvt_facet* is used for UTF-8 output. // ############################################################################ // # Name: MyLog.h # // # Purpose: Logging Class Header # // # Author: Andrew Drach # // # Modified by: <somebody> # // # Created: 03/21/10 # // # SVN-ID: $Id$ # // # Copyright: (c) 2010 Andrew Drach # // # Licence: <license> # // ############################################################################ #ifndef INCLUDED_MYLOG_H #define INCLUDED_MYLOG_H // headers -------------------------------------------------------------------- #include <string> #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include <exception> #include <boost/program_options/detail/utf8_codecvt_facet.hpp> using namespace std; // definitions ---------------------------------------------------------------- // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // DblBuf class // Splits up output stream into two // Inspired by http://wordaligned.org/articles/cpp-streambufs // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- class DblBuf : public wstreambuf { private: // private member declarations DblBuf(); wstreambuf *bf1; wstreambuf *bf2; virtual int_type overflow(int_type ch) { int_type eof = traits_type::eof(); int_type not_eof = !eof; if ( traits_type::eq_int_type(ch,eof) ) return not_eof; else { char_type ch1 = traits_type::to_char_type(ch); int_type r1( bf1on ? bf1->sputc(ch1) : not_eof ); int_type r2( bf2on ? bf2->sputc(ch1) : not_eof ); return (traits_type::eq_int_type(r1,eof) || traits_type::eq_int_type(r2,eof) ) ? eof : ch; } } virtual int sync() { int r1( bf1on ? bf1->pubsync() : NULL ); int r2( bf2on ? bf2->pubsync() : NULL ); return (r1 == 0 && r2 == 0) ? 0 : -1; } public: // public member declarations explicit DblBuf(wstreambuf *bf1, wstreambuf *bf2) : bf1(bf1), bf2(bf2) { if (bf1) bf1on = true; else bf1on = false; if (bf2) bf2on = true; else bf2on = false; } bool bf1on; bool bf2on; }; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // logstream class // Wrapper for a standard wostream with access to modified buffer // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- class logstream : public wostream { private: // private member declarations logstream(); public: // public member declarations DblBuf *buf; explicit logstream(wstreambuf *StrBuf, bool isStd = false) : wostream(StrBuf, isStd), buf((DblBuf*)StrBuf) {} }; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // Logging mode Class // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- enum LogModes{LogToFile=1, LogToScreen, LogToBoth}; class LogMode { private: // private member declarations LogMode(); short mode; public: // public member declarations LogMode(short mode1) : mode(mode1) {} logstream& operator()(logstream &stream1) { switch(mode) { case LogToFile: stream1.buf->bf1on = true; stream1.buf->bf2on = false; break; case LogToScreen: stream1.buf->bf1on = false; stream1.buf->bf2on = true; break; case LogToBoth: stream1.buf->bf1on = true; stream1.buf->bf2on = true; } return stream1; } }; logstream& operator<<(logstream &out, LogMode mode) { return mode(out); } wostream& TimeStamp1(wostream &out1) { time_t time1; struct tm timeinfo; wchar_t timestr[512]; // Get current time and convert it to a string time(&time1); localtime_s (&timeinfo, &time1); wcsftime(timestr, 512,L"[%Y-%b-%d %H:%M:%S %p] ",&timeinfo); return out1 << timestr; } // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // MyLog class // Logs events to both file and screen // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- class MyLog { private: // private member declarations MyLog(); auto_ptr<DblBuf> buf; string mErrorMsg1; string mErrorMsg2; string mErrorMsg3; string mErrorMsg4; public: // public member declarations explicit MyLog(string FileName1, wostream *ScrLog1, locale utf8locale1); ~MyLog(); void NewEvent(wstring str1, bool TimeStamp = true); string FileName; wostream *ScrLog; wofstream File; auto_ptr<logstream> Log; locale utf8locale; }; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // MyLog constructor // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- MyLog::MyLog(string FileName1, wostream *ScrLog1, locale utf8locale1) : // ctors mErrorMsg1("Failed to open file for application logging!   • How can I limit the upload/download bandwidth on my CentOS server?

    - by Dan Nestor
    How can I limit the upload and download bandwidth on my CentOS server? This is a box with a single interface, eth0. Ideally, I would like a command-line solution (I've been trying to use tc), something that I could easily switch on and off in a script. So far I've been trying to do something like tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip prio 50 u32 police rate 100kbit burst 10240 drop but I'm obviously missing a lot of knowledge and information. Can somebody help with a quick one-liner? Many thanks, Dan

  • Microsoft Reporting: Setting subreport parameters in code

    - by Svish
    How can I set a parameter of a sub-report? I have successfully hooked myself up to the SubreportProcessing event, I can find the correct sub-report through e.ReportPath, and I can add datasources through e.DataSources.Add. But I find no way of adding report parameters?? I have found people suggesting to add them to the master report, but I don't really want to do that, since the master report shouldn't have to be connected to the sub-report at all, other than that it is wrapping the sub-report. I am using one report as a master template, printing name of the report, page numbers etc. And the subreport is going to be the report itself. And if I could only find a way to set those report parameters of the sub-report I would be good to go... Clarification: Creating/Defining the parameters is not the problem. The problem is to set their values. I thought the natural thing to do was to do it in the SubreportProcessing event. And the SubreportProcessingEventArgs do in fact have a Parameters property. But it is read only! So how do you use that? How can I set their value?

  • JavaScript on jQuery created code never gets called

    - by mare
    This is my view in ASP.NET MVC. <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Administration.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="HeadContent" runat="server"> <script type="text/javascript"> var ddlContentTypes; $(document).ready(function () { ddlContentTypes = $("#ContentTypes"); ddlContentTypes.bind("change", loadCreate); loadCreate(); }); function loadCreate() { var typeId = $("#ContentTypes option:selected").val(); $.get('~/' + typeId + '/Create', function (data) { $("#CreateForm").html(data); }); $("fieldset input").each(function (index, item) { $(item).attr("disabled", true); }); } </script> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content3" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2> <%=Resources.Localize.CreateWidget %></h2> <p> <% Html.RenderPartial("ContentTypeSelector"); %></p> <div id="CreateForm"> </div> </asp:Content> As you can see, it loads some HTML (actually user control) and adds it to the CreateForm div. This actually works fine. The problem is this $("fieldset input").each(function (index, item) { $(item).attr("disabled", true); }); never runs. The fieldset tag is in the response, so you don't see it here but it's there - everything is returned back fine (I checked with Firebug). Why do the above two lines of JS never run or have any effect?

  • Escaping Code for Different Shells

    - by Jon Purdy
    Question: What characters do I need to escape in a user-entered string to securely pass it into shells on Windows and Unix? What shell differences and version differences should be taken into account? Can I use printf "%q" somehow, and is that reliable across shells? Backstory (a.k.a. Shameless Self-Promotion): I made a little DSL, the Vision Web Template Language, which allows the user to create templates for X(HT)ML documents and fragments, then automatically fill them in with content. It's designed to separate template logic from dynamic content generation, in the same way that CSS is used to separate markup from presentation. In order to generate dynamic content, a Vision script must defer to a program written in a language that can handle the generation logic, such as Perl or Python. (Aside: using PHP is also possible, but Vision is intended to solve some of the very problems that PHP perpetuates.) In order to do this, the script makes use of the @system directive, which executes a shell command and expands to its output. (Platform-specific generation can be handled using @unix or @windows, which only expand on the proper platform.) The problem is obvious, I should think: test.htm: <!-- ... --> <form action="login.vis" method="POST"> <input type="text" name="USERNAME"/> <input type="password" name="PASSWORD"/> </form> <!-- ... --> login.vis: #!/usr/bin/vision # Think USERNAME = ";rm -f;" @system './login.pl' { USERNAME; PASSWORD } One way to safeguard against this kind of attack is to set proper permissions on scripts and directories, but Web developers may not always set things up correctly, and the naive developer should get just as much security as the experienced one. The solution, logically, is to include a @quote directive that produces a properly escaped string for the current platform. @system './login.pl' { @quote : USERNAME; @quote : PASSWORD } But what should @quote actually do? It needs to be both cross-platform and secure, and I don't want to create terrible problems with a naive implementation. Any thoughts?

  • 500 error on function call in Codeigniter

    - by Ilia Lev
    I am using just installed CI 2.1.3 Following phpacademy tutorial I wrote in the routes.php: $route['default_controller'] = "site"; (instead of: $route['default_controller'] = "welcome";) and in controllers/site.php: <?php if ( ! defined('BASEPATH')) exit('No direct script access allowed'); class Site extends CI_Controller { public function index() { echo "default function started.<br/>"; } public function hello(){ echo "hello function started.<br/>"; } } After uploading it to the server and going to the [www.mydomain.ext] it works ok (writes: "default function started.") BUT if I add 'this-hello();' to the index() function it throws a 500 error. Why does it happen and how can I resolve this? Thank you in advance.

  • Help converting code using httlib2 to use urllib2

    - by ThinkCode
    What am I trying to do? Visit a site, retrieve cookie, visit the next page by sending in the cookie info. It all works but httplib2 is giving me one too many problems with socks proxy on one site. http = httplib2.Http() main_url = 'http://mywebsite.com/get.aspx?id='+ id +'&rows=25' response, content = http.request(main_url, 'GET', headers=headers) main_cookie = response['set-cookie'] referer = 'http://google.com' headers = {'Content-type': 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded', 'Cookie': main_cookie, 'User-Agent' : USER_AGENT, 'Referer' : referer} How to do the same exact thing using urllib2 (cookie retrieving, passing to the next page on the same site)? Thank you.

  • How to list the code of a verb in J

    - by MPelletier
    In the console, typing a single verb without parameters will print its content: tolower 3 : 0 x=. I. 26 > n=. ((65+i.26){a.) i. t=. ,y ($y) $ ((x{n) { (97+i.26){a.) x}t ) That's nice for development, but unexploitable during execution. Is there a way to do that dynamically? Is there a verb that can return the contents of another verb? For example: showverb 'tolower' or showverb tolower

(Executable compression drops this to half a MB or so but that's still HUGE!) (I must statically link because this application needs to be single-binary-xcopy-deployed, so both the C runtime and wxWidgets itself are set for static linking) Any tips on cutting this down? So, today I have installed Mozilla Thunderbird 24.2.0 on my Windows 7 (64 bit) machine. It was downloading emails, until it hit an error. An alert showed up saying : "There is not enough disk space to download new messages. Try deleting old mail, emptying the Trash folder, and compacting your mail folders, and then try again." Now, disk space is not a problem, there is enough free space left ( almost 50 % of the drive ). How to stop the alert and continue downloading ?
