  • How can I get the new Facebook Javascript SDK to work in IE8?

    I've boiled down my page to the simplest possible thing, and it still doesn't work in IE8. When I click the Login button and log in, I get a second dialog with a session. If I am logged into Facebook, I get two dialogs with sessions: one from the getLoginStatus call, and another from the event. In IE8, I get no dialogs when I load the page. The getLoginStatus callback is not invoked. When I click the Login button, I get a dialog, but it has a very strange error in it: Invalid Argument The Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect/xd_proxy.php#?=&cb=f3e91da434653f2&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fsword.sqprod.com%2Ff210cba91f2a6d4&relation=opener&transport=flash&frame=f27aa957225164&result=xxRESULTTOKENxx) must have the application's Connect URL (http://mysiteurl.com/) as a prefix. You can configure the Connect URL in the Application Settings Editor. I've sanitized the Connect URL above, but it is correct. The dialog does have username/password fields. If I log in, the dialog box gets redirected to my Connect URL, but there's no fb cookie, so of course nothing works. What am I doing wrong here?

  • Cisco 891w multiple VLAN configuration

    I'm having trouble getting my guest network up. I have VLAN 1 that contains all our network resources (servers, desktops, printers, etc). I have the wireless configured to use VLAN1 but authenticate with wpa2 enterprise. The guest network I just wanted to be open or configured with a simple WPA2 personal password on it's own VLAN2. I've looked at tons of documentation and it should be working but I can't even authenticate on the guest network! I've posted this on cisco's support forum a week ago but no one has really responded. I could really use some help. So if anyone could take a look at the configurations I posted and steer me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.     Hello, Looking for someone to either confirm or refute my theory that deploying two iframes pointing to two different stateful pages on the same domain can lead to JSESSIONIDs being overwritten. Here's what I mean: Setup suppose you have two pages that require HttpSession state (session affinity) to function correctly - deployed at http://www.foo.com/page1 and http://www.foo.com/page2 assume www.foo.com is a single host running a Tomcat (6.0.20, fwiw) that uses JSESSIONID for session id's. suppose these pages are turned into two iframe widgets to be embedded on 3rd party sites: http://www.site.com/page1" / (and /page2 respectively) suppose there a 3rd party site that wishes to place both widgets on the same page at http://www.bar.com/foowidgets.html Can the following race condition occur? a new visitor goes to http://www.bar.com/foowidgets.html browser starts loading URLs in foowidgets.html including the two iframe 'src' URLs because browsers open multiple concurrent connections against the same host (afaik up to 6 in chrome/ff case) the browser happens to simultaneously issue requests for http://www.foo.com/page1 and http://www.foo.com/page2 The tomcat @ foo.com receives both requests at about the same time, calls getSession() for the first time (on two different threads) and lazily creates two HttpSessions and, thus, two JSESSIONIDs, with values $Page1 and $Page2. The requests also stuff data into respective sessions (that data will be required to process subsequent requests) assume that the browser first receives response to the page1 request. Browser sets cookie JSESSIONID=$Page1 for HOST www.foo.com next response to the page2 request is received and the browser overwrites cookie JSESSIONID for HOST www.foo.com with $Page2 user clicks on something in 'page1' iframe on foowidgets.html; browser issues 2nd request to http://www.foo.com/page1?action=doSomethingStateful. That request carries JSESSIONID=$Page2 (and not $Page1 - because cookie value was overwritten) when foo.com receives this request it looks up the wrong HttpSession instance (because JSESSIONID key is $Page2 and NOT $Page1). Foobar! Can the above happen? I think so, but would appreciate a confirmation. If the above is clearly possible, what are some solutions given that we'd like to support multiple iframes per page? We don't have a firm need for the iframes to share the same HttpSession, though that would be nice. In the event that the solution will still stipulate a separate HttpSession per iframe, it is - of course - mandatory that iframe 1 does not end up referencing httpSession state for iframe 2 instead of own. off top of my head I can think of: map page1 and page2 to different domains (ops overhead) use URL rewriting and never cookies (messes up analytics) anything else? thanks a lot, -nikita

    Hi, I am writing a multithreaded socket application in Python using the socket module. the server listens for connections and when it gets one it spawns a thread for that socket. the server thread sends some data to the client. but the client is not yet ready to receive it. Each element's content is seen on the debugging window as {(unichar *)Xcode_CFStringSummary($VAR, $ID)}:s but if I double click on any element, its value shows on a pop up window. Why is the values don't showing directly? How to force Xcode to show the values instead of this stupid and useless "{(unichar *)Xcode_CFStringSummary($VAR, $ID)}:s" ? thanks for any help.

  • iPhone PlayAndRecord silences all system audio??

    Hi, In my iPhone app I am trying to record audio and play iPod music at the same time, so I set the audio session category to kAudioSessionCategory_PlayAndRecord. But when I set this, all system audio (including vibrate) doesn't work anymore, although the iPod audio still does work. Does anyone know if this is a bug in the SDK or something, or how to get around it? Please help! Thanks in advance!

I read, on adobe's documentation, the client automatically sends a "request-policy-file" xml element to the socket before allowing it to be opened, and should receive a policy file. The client sends the xml element as expected, My server receives it (on the port I want to use, port 6104) and replies on the same port with: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"> <cross-domain-policy> <site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="all"/> <allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*"/> </cross-domain-policy> To the best of my knowledge, this should be the most permissive policy available on a socket. The flash player logs indicate a timeout looking for the socket policy file, although I know my socket returned the response immediately. What should I do ?

    I'm POST'ing a small image, so i'd like the timeout interval to be short. If the image doesn't send in a few seconds, it's probably never going to send.   • AJAX: how to get progress feedback in web apps, and to avoid timeouts on long requests?

    This is a general design question about how to make a web application that will receive a large amount of uploaded data, process it, and return a result, all without the dreaded spinning beach-ball for 5 minutes or a possible HTTP timeout. Here's the requirements: make a web form where you can upload a CSV file containing a list of URLs when the user clicks "submit", the server fetches the file, and checks each URL to see if its alive, and what the title tag of the page is. the result is a downloadable CSV file containing the URL, and the result HTTP code the input CSV can be very large ( 100000 rows), so the fetch process might take 5-30 minutes. My solution so far is to have a spinning javascript loop on the client site, which queries the server every second to determine the overall progress of the job. This seems kludgy to me, and I'm hesitant to accept this as the best solution. I'm using perl, template toolkit, and jquery, but any solution using any web technology would be acceptable.

  • Xenserver 5.5 U2 a bit unstable with an unstable W2003 VM

    In the last week I had to reboot the host system twice and the second one by means of the power button. The system is a Dell PE 6950 (4 Opteron dual core, 2,8 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, 900 GB disk in a RAID 10 array composed by 4 450GB 15000 rpm disks) with XenServer 5.5 U2. We're installing it and at now there are working in production a 2003 32 bit Windows server VM with 2 GB RAM, 3 vcpu and about 200 GB disk in 4 partition (12 GB boot, 20 GB program, 80 GB user data, 80 GB other data). The first time I was compressing many Windows 2003 folders (some tens GB by means of W2003 compressed folder option) from a Windows remote console and some hours before my colleague installed Backup Exec agent that was alredy installed and that required a reboot (that was pending). The console stopped responding, it was no more possible to connect by means of remote console or by means of the console of the XenCentre, it was still possible from the network to use the shared folder of the VM and the programs on it (2 db and a GIS program), but the print server didn't work any more and I couldn't give remote reboot from other domain controller hosts. I couldn't stop the virtual machine neither from the XenCentre, neither from the command line of the host also forcing the reboot. I had to reboot the host server. Yesterday it has been worst. I installed a template of another VM, CentOS 5.3 and then, put the DVD in the drive of the host. Then, before the install and after the boot I checked for defect the DVD and the W2003 VM began to respond slowly (I was connected by means of an administration remote console) the task manager showed only mid or low load, it is, only the first of the 3 vcpu was loaded (about 70%), while the other two were about at 20% and also the disk I/O was not so heavy. Then the users were not so happy because they couldn't any more use the MS word docs on the server. I immediately stopped the check of the DVD (to do that I had to force the stop of such Centos 5.3 VM), then some users could again use their docs, but other had still problems, so I decided to reboot the VM, but it doesn't stopped, neither from XenCenter, neither from command line, neither forcing the reboot. Then I tried to reboot of the host, but it didn't worked, neither from the XenCentre, neither from the host prompt (shutdown -r now as root: it told that it was shutting down, but then it didn't did that). So I had to power off by means of the power button of the server (before I tried some Magic SyS REQ, but I saw that Xen isn't compiled with this option enabled). What could you suggest about my problem, what can I look, search and see? In the W2003 VM logs there are no errors or warning to explain what happened.   • Bluetooth connect to a RS232 adapter in android

    Hello All, I am trying to use the Bluetooth Chat sample API app that google provides to connect to a bluetooth RS232 adapter hooked up to another device. Here is the app for reference: http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/BluetoothChat/index.html And here is the spec sheet for the RS232 connector just for reference: http://serialio.com/download/Docs/BlueSnap-guide-4.77%5FCommands.pdf Well the problem is that when I go to connect to the device with: mmSocket.connect(); (BluetoothSocket::connect()) I always get an IOException error thrown by the connect method. When I do a toString on the exception I get "Service discovery failed". My question is mostly what are the cases that would cause an IOException to get thrown in the connect method? I know those are in the source somewhere but I don't know exactly how the java layer that you write apps in and the C/C++ layer that contains the actual stacks interface. I know that it uses the bluez bluetooth stack which is written in C/C++ but not sure how that ties into the java layer which is what I would think is throwing the exception. Any help on pointing me to where I can try to dissect this issue would be incredible. Also just to note I am able to pair with the RS232 adapter just fine but I am never able to actually connect.
