• SQL Server Account will work for SQL Server but fails to ReportServer

  Setting up SSRS. For Service Account, I set a domain account as the Report Server Service Account. click apply SQL Server Connection Dialog pops up. Need to specify an account with admin privileges. set Credentials Type = SQL Server Account I use sa account (which works, verified many ways with sql server management studio) I fails with the following: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service ReportServer on computer 'DEVDB5'. --- System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service did not start due to a logon failure --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.Start(String[] args) at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.Start() at ReportServicesConfigUI.Panels.WindowsServiceIdentityPanel.StartWindowsServicePostChangeWindowsServiceIdentity(ServiceController rsService) What am I doing wrong. btw: it was working fine as of yesterday. • XAML Serialization object not using asp.net shadow copy

  Hi, I'm having a problem where i use the XAML serializer / deserializer for a configuration type file that i have. The problem that i'm getting, is that the XAML serializer is returning objects from the assembly in the /Bin directory, while the rest of the web application is using assembly's stored in the ..../Temporary Files/.. directory. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Is this a bug in the XAML serializer / assembly loading routines? Every time i compile i need to stop and start the asp.net application so the shadow copy and the bin are exactly the same file. Even when not making a change to the dll and recompiling still causes the problem. Any thoughts on how to get around this problem? Currently i've tried turning shadow copy off, but then i have the same problem of needing to shut down / start up the web app every time i compile. Help!

• Most user-friendly issue tracker?

  Sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find anything specific. I'm looking for the most user-friendly issue tracker. Currently I'm using Trac. I'm looking for these 2 features: Very easy to create new ticket Email to ticket conversion (with attachements). The customers should be glad to use it (not avoid it like Trac). More often than not I get e-mails as bug reports and putting them into Trac wastes my time. I would really love to just hit forward and the ticket would appear in the issue tracker.

• PresentModalViewController problem.

  I have a new view controller on the iPhone which I call using the following line of code: [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:NO]; This works great if animation is on, but I am looking to have an instant switch. The problem is when I set animation to NO, the whole view shifts 20px to the right (it is always in landscape mode) as if there is a status bar but in portrait mode!? In this example the yellow space is the new view controller. I've tried this in a new project and the same thing happens. It may be a bug but does anyone have a fix? Thanks

• Hibernate AssertionFailure in different Threads

  I connect to my database with one session. I have always the same session in my hole program. My Thread "1" catches primary data from the database. The user must be allowed to cancel this thread. So if the user presses the cancel button to often or to fast (this is my interpretation) the following error occures: ERROR org.hibernate.AssertionFailure - HHH000099: an assertion failure occured (this may indicate a bug in Hibernate, but is more likely due to unsafe use of the session) org.hibernate.AssertionFailure: possible non-threadsafe access to the session The same errors occures if i cancel my thread "2" which is running in the background after my thread "1" ist finished and the try to load another primary data set from the database. Is the failure that i am using the same session in my two threads? What is the right way to solve such a problem?

• What is the right tool to detect VMT or heap corruption in Delphi ?

  I'm a member in a team that use Delphi 2007 for a larger application and we suspect heap corruption because sometimes there are strange bugs that have no other explanation. I believe that the Rangechecking option for the compiler is only for arrays. I want a tool that give an exception or log when there is a write on a memory address that is not allocated by the application. Unfortunately I think that the solution is deeper than that. We use a patched version of Bold for Delphi as we own the source. Probably there are some errors introduced in the Bold framwork. Yes we have a log with callstacks that are handled by JCL and also trace messages. EDIT3: The theory right now is that the Virtual Memory Table (VMT) is somehow broken. When this happen there is no indication of it. Only when a method is called an exception is raised (ALWAYS on address FFFFFFDD, -35 decimal) but then it is too late. You don't know the real cause for the error. Any hint of how to catch a bug like this is really appreciated!!! We have tried with SafeMM, but the problem is that the memory consumption is too high even when the 3 GB flag is used. So now I try to give a bounty to the SO community :) EDIT4: One hint is that according the log there is often (or even always) another exception before this. It can be for example optimistic locking in the database. We have tried to raise exceptions by force but in test environment it just works fine. EDIT5: Story continues... I did a search on the logs for the last 30 days now. The result: "Read of address FFFFFFDB" 0 "Read of address FFFFFFDC" 24 "Read of address FFFFFFDD" 270 "Read of address FFFFFFDE" 22 "Read of address FFFFFFDF" 7 "Read of address FFFFFFE0" 20 "Read of address FFFFFFE1" 0 So the current theory is that an enum (there is a lots in Bold) overwrite a pointer. I got 5 hits with different address above. It could mean that the enum holds 5 values where the second one is most used. If there is an exception a rollback should occur for the database and Boldobjects should be destroyed. Maybe there is a chance that not everything is destroyed and a enum still can write to an address location. If this is true maybe it is possible to search the code by a regexpr for an enum with 5 values ? EDIT6: To summarize, no there is no solution to the problem yet. I realize that I may mislead you a bit with the callstack. Yes there are a timer in that but there are other callstacks without a timer. Sorry for that. But there are 2 common factors. An exception with Read of address FFFFFFxx. Top of callstack is System.TObject.InheritsFrom (sys\system.pas:9237) This convince me that VilleK best describe the problem. I'm also convinced that the problem is somewhere in the Bold framework. But the BIG question is, how can problems like this be solved ? It is not enough to have an Assert like VilleK suggest as the damage has already happened and the callstack is gone at that moment. So to describe my view of what may cause the error: Somewhere a pointer is assigned a bad value 1, but it can be also 0, 2, 3 etc. An object is assigned to that pointer. There is method call in the objects baseclass. This cause method TObject.InheritsForm to be called and an exception appear on address FFFFFFDD. Those 3 events can be together in the code but they may also be used much later. I think this is true for the last method call. EDIT7: We work closely with the the author of Bold Jan Norden and he recently found a bug in the OCL-evaluator in Bold framework. When this was fixed these kinds of exceptions decreased a lot but they still occasionally come. But it is a big relief that this is almost solved.

  Hi there. I'm trying to install SugarCRM version 5.5.1. on a webhost. Everything goes nice until the step when the installation begins. The output is this one: Creating Sugar configuration file (config.php) Creating Sugar application tables, audit tables and relationship metadata ............. And never moves on! I check the database and can see that there are tables missing. The install.log file doesnt have any errors, and the last line in the file is: 2010-04-27 22:17:03...creating Relationship Meta for Bug It seems the installation stopped here, but i cant get why! Iv searched in the foruns, etc, but cant get it... Anyone had this issue? Any clues about whats happening? Thanks a lot

• Lucene's nested query evaluation regarding negation

  Hi, I am adding Apache Lucene support to Querydsl (which offers type-safe queries for Java) and I am having problems understanding how Lucene evaluates queries especially regarding negation in nested queries. Is this a bug in Lucene or have I misunderstood Lucene's query evaluation? I am happy to give more information if necessary.

• Multiple delivery confirmations per message with Ruby SMPP

  I am using the ruby smpp library to send/receive SMS. Right now we are sending messages to two different servers, using the ruby-smpp library. One of them works perfectly, but the other one sends multiple DELIVRD confirmations for each messages. And by multiple I mean hundreds of confirmations per message in some cases. Does anyone know any possible reason behind this? I am thinking on something relative to the implementation of the protocol the company is using, since it works perfectly with the other one, and not on the lines of a bug in the specific smpp ruby library. We are using smpp v3.4.

• Categories in static library for iPhone device 3.0

  I have categories in my static library. Any application developer should set -ObjC flag to "Other Linker Flags" to use my static library properly. It works fine for iPhone device/iPhone Simulator 2.x and iPhone Simulator 3.0. But it crashes for iPhone device 3.0. As written in this article it is new linker bug. They suggest to use one more linker flag: -all_load. But when I add this flag, build fails too, because there are duplicate symbols. How to use categories in static libraries for iPhone device 3.0? Any suggestions?

• clicking the debug button in Eclipse will not start debug mode

  i am running Eclipse 3.5.0 on a MacBook Pro using the Android SDK. i noticed that on this particular project i am working on i cant seem to actually enter debug mode. i click the little green bug icon in the tool bar and the app starts and runs. but if i switch over to the Debug Perspective i see no indication that it is running in debug mode. furthermore i can not hit any brake points that i have set. this makes debugging code a bit hard. Other projects that i am working on don't have this issue. any ideas on what i need to change in the project to get this to work?

  Using jQuery UI 1.8rc3 combined with the new jquery.effects.fade.js code, I've been able to finally apply fade-in and fade-out effects to opening the UI Dialog widgets. Hooray! $dialog.dialog({ show: { effect: "fade", options: {}, speed: 150 } } This works great - unfortunately, there's the known IE7 & 8 bug where the ClearType gets turned off by the application of an empty filter: style attribute after the fade effect is finished. I have the code to remove the filter attribute, I just can't find a good way to hook it into the event chain. The dialog's "open" and "focus" events are too soon. I need something like a "dialog opening animation is finished" callback. How can I hook up a callback to the end of the opening effect for a dialog?

  The following C# WCF based REST service gives me some undesired headers that I'm not sure if I can remove them trough the API. • UITableViewCell imageView.contentMode doesn't work in 3.0

  In UITableViewCellStyleDefault, setting the contentMode on the imageView has no result. If I change my build SDK to version 3.1, everything again works. I don't get any warnings or errors when compiling on 3.0 but this code: cell.imageView.contentMode = UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit; cell.imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@head.jpg",[gametype objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]lowercaseString]]; seems to default to the UIViewContentModeCenter, so all of my pictures exceed the cell boundaries and encroach on neighboring cells. Let me reiterate that if I change my target to 3.1 everything works correctly and all pictures are scaled accordingly to fit in the default imageView Is this a known bug?

• FLEX: Make LineChart DATATIP constrain to vertical axis.

  When making a line chart, Lets say its for business sales for different depts and horizontally is days and vertically is dollars. When you hover over a line it tells a dataTip tells you the sales for that dept. on that day. I want it to show all the depts at the same time, so say you hover over day 3, I want the dataTips for all depts on day 3 to display so you can compare the values for all the sales on the same day. I set the mouseSensitivity for the dataTips to display all the lines at once but I end up getting day 2 for one dept and day 3 for another which is not wanted. So who are the key players in the open source community? Who are the people which devote their precious time to these projects? What is their benefit? Are the majority just people who see a bug, fix it, submit, and forget about the project? Or are they people constantly involved in the process of building the product? • Git diff gone mad?

  I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my local Git repo. I edit a file. Git reports everything has changed in the file (I only changed one line) At first I think "must be a newline problem", but it's not. I do a diff in TortoiseGit, everything looks fine. I do a diff with Netbeans (git plugin), everything seems fine. I do a reset, backup the file, modify it, git again reports everything has changed. I do a binary compare in Total Commander, the files have no differences except for the single line I changed. I do a hard reset again. Git tells me it was done successfully. Git status still says my file has changed. I diff the thing and there are no differences - bug git says there are. I've tried using both git bash and gui, with same results (I'm on Windows). Any clues, what's going on here?

• Why don't web fonts in Firefox work on a different domain?

  I was experimenting with the fancy new OpenType font capability in Firefox 3.5 and I ran into a problem. I was trying to embed a font on a different domain than the page it would be used on, and it didn't work. I thought it may have been a bug, but from what I read on the MDC reference page, I noticed this note: In Gecko, web fonts are subject to the same domain restriction (font files must be on the same domain as the page using them), unless HTTP access controls are used to relax this restriction. It looks like they designed the browser that way on purpose. Out of curiosity, why would they do that? Is there any security risk with embedding a font? Or is it for legal trademark or copyright issues? Or something else?

Now I want to use it in a java application, but I can't find any resources how to register the factory. • phantom error "error parsing XML: unbound prefix"

  The error "error parsing XML: unbound prefix" shows up on my main layout: main.xml when I first open Eclipse. To make the error go away, all I have to do is make a modification to the file, then undo it, then hit save (have to make a change in order to be able to save file and thus trigger the new syntax check). My environment is: Fedora Eclipse Platform Version: 3.4.2 Based on build id: 20090211-1700 My target is Android API level 5. The first time I saw the error I spent a long time trying to track down "the problem" but later realized there isn't really a problem, it's just a phantom error.   Hello, Suppose I have this image: <img src="images/01.jpg" border="0" rel="shadow" /> Then with JQuery, I get its width using: $('[rel="shadow"]').width(); Firefox and IE report correct dimensions of the image eg 140px while Chrome reports 0. How to solve this problem? Note: I don't want to set explicit width for images eg: <img src="images/01.jpg" border="0" rel="shadow" width="140" /> So, how to get width in cross-browser way which is not defined in width attribute of elements?
