ProcessCmdKey - wait for KeyUp?

Hi, I'm having the following issue in a WinForms app. I'm trying to implement Hotkeys and I need to process Key messages whenever the control is active, no matter if the focus is on a textbox within that control, etc. Overriding ProcessCmdKey works beautifully for this and does exactly what I want with one exception: If a user presses a key and keeps it pressed, ProcessCmdKey keeps triggering WM_KEYDOWN events. However, what I want to achieve is that the user has to release the button again before another hotkey action would trigger (so, if someone sits on the keyboard it would not cause continuous hotkey events). However, I can't find where to catch WM_KEYUP events, so I can set a flag if it should process ProcessCmdKey messages again? Anyone can help out here? Thanks, Tom

How do I set the bake command to use a different template in cakephp

Hi all, I wanted bake command to bake a view of my liking. So I searched bakery and found this Modify-default-HTML-produced-by-baked-templates. But after reading this I was not able to modify the template because I wanted to define some CSS in it and those files are not containing any CSS code (they contain only php code inside them). Also if I have designed my own CSS file for the new template then how do I tell bake command to pick that specified css file for new template ? I am totally confused over here. Has anybody done this similar kinda work using cakePHP. Any help would be greatly appreciable. NOTE: I am using cakePHP v 1.3 latest stable release. Thanks

JS settimeout doesn’t work in IE8…

I would like to redistribute a compiled version of Yahoo! UI Library: YUI Compressor for .Net (http://yuicompressor.codeplex.com), that according to the web site is licensed under MS-Pl (http://yuicompressor.codeplex.com/license). The project I work in is release under the terms of Apache Software Foundation License 2.0. According to the MS-Pl license "If you distribute any portion of the software in compiled or object code form, you may only do so under a license that complies with this license." , the term complies is not very clear! Does ASL License complies with MS-Pl license?

Can someone explain the ivy.xml dependency's conf attribute?

I can't find any thorough explanation of the ivy dependency tag's conf attribute: <dependency org="hibernate" name="hibernate" rev="3.1.3" conf="runtime, standalone -> runtime(*)"/> See that conf attribute? I can't find any explanation (that I can understand) about the right hand side of the - symbol. PLEASE keep in mind I don't know the first thing about maven so please explain this attribute with that consideration. set date error on uidatepicker

Hi guys, I've been stumped by the code below. I pass a string date to a UIDatePicker which seems to work on most devices, yet on some, it crashes the app. here's the code NSDateFormatter *dateFormat = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [dateFormat setDateFormat:@"HH:mm"]; NSDate *date = [dateFormat dateFromString:dateStr]; [timePicker setDate:date]; [dateFormat release]; I have a function which passes the "dateStr" variable, as follows, dateStr = @"0:0"; I cannot see what's wrong - as it works for me! (iphone 3.1.3) but it doesnt work for my tester (ipod touch 3.1.3) Can anyone see anything wrong with the code? Thanks v much. any ideas?

WPF TextBox Custom Dictionary Support

Has anyone found a workaround yet for getting custom dictionary support working for the built in spellchecking on WPF TextBoxes/RichTextBoxes? We've been probing the spelling stuff with reflector hoping to find where the dictionary entries are coming from, but it's looking very much like it's going to be a COM object.... I know it's not currently supported and that Microsoft were looking into supporting it in a future release, but that was quite a while ago and I can't seem to find any recent news about it. A better way of switching between Android source versions

I would like to be able to switch between various android releases (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, etc.) and then access them via the file system to copy all files for that version into a tarball. Currently I am just running repo init -u <source URL> -b release-1. to get each version (changing the tag for each version I need). If this was a single git, I could check out the branch/tag I needed and the prject directory would "morph" to reflect then and I could just tar that folder. since the android source is split into multiple git repositories controlled by repo I have not yet found a way to change this other then the method mentioned above. any suggestions are appreciated.

Multiple ParticleSystems in cocos2d

I wonder about what road I should go with ParticleSystem. In this particular case I want to create 1-20 small explosions at the same time but with different positions. Right now I'm creating a new ParticleSystem for each explosion and then release it, but of course this is very punishing to the performance. My question is: Is there a way to create one ParticleSystem with multiple emitting sources. If not should I create an array of ParticleSystem in init and then use a free one when an explosion is needed? Or is there another approach I haven't thought of?

This structure has following members: { BSTR m_sFirst; BSTR m_sSecond; VARIANT m_vChildStruct; //This member encapsulate a sub structure SAFEARRAY __RPC_FAR * m_saArray; }CustomINFO; I am allocating the memory for the structs using CoTaskMemAlloc and encapsulating it in Variant as follows: vV-vt = VT_RECORD; vV-pvRecord = pStruct; //Pointer of sturct vV-pRecInfo = pRI; //RecordInfo Interface Is it enough to call VariantClear to deallocate the memory of struct and its members? Will it also release the IRecordInfo interface? Or i have to manually get the encapsulated struct and deallocate each member myself and then use CoTaskMemFree to deallocate sturct. Hosting a complex online service

I have an idea for a web-based service. The implementation is very complex. There will be very few users, and the traffice will be fairly low, but the server-side code could require a lot of resources. Ideally I'd need to have as much control over the servers as possible. How should I arrange hosting for this, when it comes time to release it to the public? Should I do the hosting myself, from my own servers? Trouble is, since I'm not quite an expert on .NET hosting, it might take time to learn and I might make big mistakes. The trouble with using a hosting company is, they might steal my idea, or else, it might cost a lot. Since I'm an un-funded startup I don't have a lot of money to throw at this.

Propietary modules within GPL and BSD kernels

Since the Linux kernel is GPL and not LGPL I suppose that it is illegal to link proprietary code to it. How does the industry circumvents this? I would expect that the GPL license will force any developer to release under GPL driver and/or kernel module. Maybe I am confused and implementing a new module is not really linking against the kernel code ??? How do companies deal with this? Maybe linking the other way around (from kernel to their binaries)? On the other hand there is the BSD kernel. Where you are free to link protected IP. Can you get a better design implementing your drivers within a BSD kernel? Is there any design restriction when implementing drivers for GPL kernels?

How do I set a dependency on Spring Web Services in my POM.xml

I get this on a lot of Maven dependencies, though current source of pain is Spring. I'll set a Spring version and include it like so: <spring-version>3.0.0.RELEASE</spring-version>  <dependency> <groupId>org.springframework</groupId> <artifactId>spring-core</artifactId> <version>${spring-version}</version> </dependency> Which works as expected. I am however having problems setting my dependency on spring-ws-core for web services. The latest I can find in any repo is 2.0.0-M1. http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.springframework.ws/spring-ws-core Any clues on what I need to include in my maven POM to get Spring 3 web services to work :)

No method found compiler warning

I have create a class from a string, check it is valid and then check if it responds to a particular method. If it does then I call the method. It all works fine, except I get an annoying compiler warning: "warning: no '-setCurrentID:' method found". Am I doing something wrong here? Is there anyway to tell the compiler all is ok and stop it reporting a warning? Android-iPhone single codebase cross development

Is there a way, apart from using HTML and JavaScript on a web control, to have an (almost) single codebase for an application that should run on iOS and Android? The big issue is of course that they use a different language (Java for Android, Objective-C for iOS) for application development. It would be nice to have some sort of meta-language that will be translated in Java and in Objective-C. What about Flash? Adobe wasn't supposed to release a tool to create flash-based apps in iOS? Update: based on current answers, the best cross platform development tool for iOS and Android seems to be Titanium appcelerator. I suspect that this topic will evolve overtime, so feel free to contribute with new information and comments. Thank you!

Change UIImagePicker Navigation Bar style to blue

All of my view has a blue navigation bar but when I want user to choose a photo, the UIImagePicker is black. I tried to set the navigation bar of UIImagePickerController to blue using UIBarStyleDefault but it does not work for me, the color is still black. I tried with other UIBarStyle like UIBarStyleBlack and UIBarStyleOpaque as well but it doesn't change the navigation bar of the picker anyway. Here is my code // Let the user choose a new photo. ::LookupAccountSid API Extremely Slow When Targetting x64 Platform (Windows 7)

During our application startup, we are making a call to ::LookupAccountSid(). When I build targetting the x86 architecture, this call is nearly instantaneous. However, when I target x64 (debug or release), the call generally takes over 40s to complete. Since this is occurring during application startup, the result is fairly unpleasant as it will appear to the user that the application is not launching. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a Dell Studio XPS 16 (Intel Core i7 Q 720). Our application is a native Windows application written in C++. We are facing a lot of open source software. But someone needs to write that software. How are they payed? Do you know a good article about the open source politics and economy? Sometimes the big companies themselves release open source because they have some benefits. Then they sell support, advices ... My question is what is the real economy about open software? No professional will work for nothing. This software are couple of classes but thousand or may be millions of classes. If you are really a pro you will write software for money, because you have life, wife, kids, taxes, you must earn. Please do not tell me that they are doing this for pleasure or hobby!
