I am using Fantacy Remote to view the remote desktop. I want to disable the mouse action of the client side, It should be a view only window. How can i do this ?
i have a pc operation windows 7, i'm using a USB external modem to connect to dialup internet but once i connect the modem , window displays a blue screen which is famous in windows vista, it says something like that " dump physical memory "
can anyone help me with my problem please ?
Is it possible to make Windows 8.1 automatically select the most relevant search result, so that I could just press Enter to execute it? Right now, I have to press down-arrow each time to select it, and then press Enter.
I occasionally forget to press the down-arrow, and Windows opens that very useful Search Results window for me. It makes me sad since I'm absolutelly happy with the top search result nearly all the time.
P.S.: I'm taking about the Search in Start menu (the menu which opens when I press winkey)
if i write this command in linux "dd if=/dev/sda1 of=/dev/sda2" it copy the whole dev/sda partition bit by bit to dev/sdb.....is there any way in WINDOW that i can just only copy the contents of /dev/sda1 to /dev/sda2 and also the MBR and not the whole partition bit by bit......
It seems to me that Windows Remote Desktop is ridiculously resource hungry and has to load up every window on the remote computer before making the desktop available.
However it appears that VNC just sends images of the desktop across the network.
Would I be right in my thinking?

I used to have both windows vista and ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop and i could choose which one to start at start up.
But now I only have ubuntu 10,04 on my laptop and because there is only one operating system on my laptop the grub window doesn't show up.
I need it because sometimes I need to start my ubuntu in recovery mode with no graphics, I checked and grub is already installed, how can I activate it at start up ?
( by the way : I have grub2 )
Thanks in advance

Is there a way to make nautilus display the "recently used" files and directories, just like the "open file" dialog does?
Just to make my question clearer, here are two screenshots:
The GTK open file dialog, showing the recently used items:
A nautilus window, which doesn't offer to display recently used items:
EDIT : This has been added as a feature request to Nautilus. Don't hesitate to make your voice heard if you want it to happen!
When I drag a file from "Downloads" to my USB stick window, it copies. I want it moved. What do I have to config, or which key to press to achieve this? (Yes, I googled, but came up empty).
And cut/copy... not an option, since cut doesn't.
System is Ubuntu 9.10, if it's an Ubuntu thing.
The only thing I miss from Vista on W7 is that, you can click the batery icon and select one of three power profiles without having to open the Energy option Window.
Can I archieve this on W7 Without having to install a third party tool? I have tried one, but with so many bugs and problems, but I guess there are maybe one tool out there that works fine.
I'm Using W7 Professional x64
Thanks in advance
Is there any way to configure Outlook to send messages without Outlook being open?
We're currently using a system where the "Email Page" opens an Outlook Sendto window. You can click "Send", but the message stays in the "Outbox" until you open Outlook. I'm trying to get around opening Outlook. Anyone have any ideas?
How to create my own custom action in Microsoft Outlook Rules?
In Outlook, when creating a rule in the Rules wizard, we set first the conditions and then set the actions that we choose from a list of predefined actions. Is there a way to add my own action to the existing actions programmatically?
I also see an action called custom action, when i click it it opens up a small window with an empty combobox, can i add my custom action there, and how?
I have a server, and windows vista, 64-bit, 4gb ram. Sometimes the server randomly drops into the page file, and disconnects everyone who was online. Only after I click the cmd.exe window does it comes back out. How do I mark a program as not eligible for the page file?

I have an old P4 computer. I would like to use it as a test LAMP server and a need to find or build smallest LAMP server. I don't need anything fancy. If it can run popular CMS's like Joomla or Drupal or Wordpress that is all I need. No window manager or any other tools.
Any advice?

I guess a better way to ask this question (or an alternative to it, in my case) would be to first ask how to do this instead. Namely, I want to have a gadget on my desktop (not just in a browser window) with options such as overlaying on top of other windows, offline caching, etc. that is dedicated expressly to a given website (no browsing functions or menus). Be even more awesome if I could indicate a specific physical part of the website to show in the gadget.
I inspired from my other question here http://superuser.com/questions/129755/how-to-get-open-command-window-here-while-clicking-on-exe-not-on-parent-folder and tried this
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.sln]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.sln\shell]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.sln\shell\countlines]
@="countlines"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.sln\shell\countlines\command]
@="c:\\countlines\\countlines.exe" %1
but it doesn't work.
On Youtube.com the flash applet seems to suck the input focus. Shortcuts like CTRL+T or ALT don't seem to work.
How can you make a new window without having to touch the mouse (keyboard only) when on youtube.com or other sites that have a flash app that traps keystrokes?
I have a user who is getting a warning message dialog every time he opens a message window in Outlook 2007:
Could not install the custom actions. The object could not be found.
Clicking OK dismisses the dialog and everything appears to work fine.

I'm about to buy a new macbook pro. I really like to work where there's a lot of light (coffee shops, my window filled office).
Is the antiglare screen superior to the glossy screen under these conditions? Is it worth the extra cash?
I'm searching for a solution to switch my keyboard layout in Windows globally for all windows quickly.
When I switch the current layout by pressing the magic combination Alt+Shift or when I choose another layout in the language bar, this only changes the layout in the current window.
