• Including an embedded framework using a cross-project-reference: Header no such file or directory

  I'm trying to create a Cocoa framework by using a cross-project reference in Xcode. I have 2 projects: one for the framework; one for the application that will use the framework. This framework is not intended to be stored within the system; it is an embedded framework that lives within the application bundle. I have successfully made the cross-project reference, marked the framework as being a dependency of my target, added a Copy Files build phase that puts the framework in Contents/Frameworks/ and added the framework to the linker phase (I checked the little "Target" checkbox; I've also done it manually by dragging the framework into the linker phase). My framework's install directory is correctly set to @executable_path/../Frameworks. However, when I try to build my app it: a) Correctly builds the framework first b) Correctly copies the framework c) Errors because it cannot find the master header file in my framework I have verified that the header is there. I can see it in the app product that is partially built. ls build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h I have been able to successfully build the app by copying my framework into /Library/Frameworks (I can then delete it again after the successful build), but this is a workaround, I'm looking to find it out why Xcode doesn't find the framework's master header file without it being copied to a system directory. Is copying it to the app bundle during the build not sufficient? • How to tune down the Hyperic built-in postgresql database for a small setup

  We are testing out Hyperic 4.5.1 in a quite small environment for now. Currently there are just 1-5 agents and there probably won't be any more than 10-15. When I run ps ax there are 20(!) postgres processes running. For a small setup like this, that can't be necessary, can it? • C# MP3 Player using winmm.dll

  I'm trying to bash together a (very) rough MP3 player during my lunch hour, and so far I've got it to play the files, and I'm working on a way of building a list of filenames to enable random songs, but I think I've just hit a snag. Is there a way of knowing when the currently playing MP3 has finished? An event or some such? As it stands I don't think I'd be able to have playlists etc unless this was possible due to it stopping after every playback. [DllImport("MyDll.dll")] static extern void Func(); This will search for the dll in the app dir and in the PATH environment variable. But at times the dll will be placed elsewhere. Can this information be specified in app.config or manifest file to avoid dynamic loading and dynamic invocation?

I can call this $.historyCurrentHash to return the current hash, but im trying to figure out how to look one step back in the stack. if i try calling this $.historyBackStack, but i just get an 'undefined'. anyone got any ideas? I can see that its not a public variable, but im wondering if i need to modify the library or just call it in a different way

  Question re-written on 2010-03-24 I have two UserControls, where one is a dialog that has a TabControl, and the other is one that appears within said TabControl. I'll just call them CandyDialog and CandyNameViewer for simplicity's sake. There's also a data management class called Tracker that manages information storage, which for all intents and purposes just exposes a public property that is an ObservableCollection. I've never had this problem before; all of my previous uses of ObservableCollection updated fine, although in those cases I wasn't databinding across assemblies. Although I am currently only adding and removing candy names to/from the ObservableCollection, at a later date I will likely also allow renaming from the model side. Is there something I did wrong? Is there a good way to actually debug this? Reed Copsey indicates here that inter-UserControl databinding is possible. Unfortunately, my favorite Bea Stollnitz article on WPF databinding debugging doesn't suggest anything that I could use for this particular problem.

• Java, Jacob and Microsoft Outlook events: Receiving "Can't find event iid" Error

  I am writing a Java program that interacts with Microsoft Outlook using the Jacob library (bridges COM and Java). This program creates a new MailItem, displaying its Inspector window to the user. I wish to subscribe to the inspector's Close event to know when the user is finished editing their mail item. To subscribe to the event, I followed the instructions in Jacob's documentation (about 2⁄3 down the page): The current [event] model is conceptually similar to the Visual Basic WithEvents construct. Basically, I provide a class called com.jacob.com.DispatchEvents which has a constructor that takes a source object (of type com.jacob.com.Dispatch) and a target object (of any type). The source object is queried for its IConnectionPointContainer interface and I attempt to obtain an IConnectionPoint for its default source interface (which I obtain from IProvideClassInfo). At the same time, I also create a mapping of DISPID's for the default source interface to the actual method names. I then use the method names to get jmethodID handles from the target Java object. All event methods currently must have the same signature: one argument which is a Java array of Variants, and a void return type. Here is my InspectorEventHandler class, conforming to Jacob's documentation: public class InspectorEventHandler { public void Activate(Variant[] arguments) { } public void BeforeMaximize(Variant[] arguments) { } public void BeforeMinimize(Variant[] arguments) { } public void BeforeMove(Variant[] arguments) { } public void BeforeSize(Variant[] arguments) { } public void Close(Variant[] arguments) { System.out.println("Closing"); } public void Deactivate(Variant[] arguments) { } public void PageChange(Variant[] arguments) { } } And here is how I subscribe to the events using this InspectorEventHandler class: Object outlook = new ActiveXComponent("Outlook.Application"); Object mailItem = Dispatch.call(outlook, "CreateItem", 0).getDispatch(); Object inspector = Dispatch.get(mailItem, "GetInspector").getDispatch(); InspectorEventHandler eventHandler = new InspectorEventHandler(); // This supposedly registers eventHandler with the inspector new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) inspector, eventHandler); However, the last line fails with the following exception: Exception in thread "main" com.jacob.com.ComFailException: Can't find event iid at com.jacob.com.DispatchEvents.init(Native Method) at com.jacob.com.DispatchEvents.(DispatchEvents.java) at cake.CakeApplication.run(CakeApplication.java:30) at cake.CakeApplication.main(CakeApplication.java:15) couldn't get IProvideClassInfo According to Google, a few others have also received this error. Unfortunately, none of them have received an answer. I am using version 1.7 of the Jacob library, which claims to prevent this problem: Version 1.7 also includes code to read the type library directly from the progid. This makes it possible to work with all the Microsoft Office application events, as well as IE5 events. For an example see the samples/test/IETest.java example. I noticed that the aforementioned IETest.java file subscribes to events like this: new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) ieo, ieE,"InternetExplorer.Application.1"); Therefore, I tried subscribing to my events in a similar manner: new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) inspector, eventHandler, "Outlook.Application"); new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) inspector, eventHandler, "Outlook.Application.1"); new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) inspector, eventHandler, "Outlook.Application.12"); All these attempts failed with the same error.

  hi GridView.DataKeynames stores the names of the primary key fields for the items displayed in a GridView control. 1) Even though I’ve set DataKeyNames, GridView still doesn’t store record’s primary key value(s) in DataKey object: protected void SqlDataSource1_Selected(object sender, SqlDataSourceStatusEventArgs e) { Label2.Text = GridView2.DataKeys[0].Value.ToString();//exception } Why not? 2) I assume when DataKeyNames is set, DataKey object stores both original and new values of a primary key ( assuming we issued an update command ) and when the update is finished, DataKey object discards the original value(s)? Is there either a single query that could combine these two or should I be using a JOIN?

How can I prevent this and see actual variable value? In general case, var can be more complicated than "*", for example: "home/alex/mydir/*".
