• Reporting Services 2005 - Parameter reliant on cascading parameters

  Good day I have the following: In a SSRS 2005 report I have three report parameters: FinancialPeriodType ("Month" or "Week" in a DropDownList), FinancialPeriod (cascading DropDownList populated depending on first selection) and another parameter, OpeningBalance, of type float. The first two parameters are cascading i.e. the first parameter is used by the query populating the second's available values. This works fine. What I'm attemping to do is default the value of OpeningBalance to a value from a dataset populated by a stored procedure which takes in the first two parameters. However as soon as I select a value for the first parameter, I get the following error: An error occurred during report processing. The value for the report parameter 'OpeningBalance' is not valid for its type.' I've tried setting the default of the second parameter to be a meaningful default (something like 200901) as well as defaulting the second parameter in the SQL store procedure with no affect. Using SQL Profiler I've noticed that selecting a value for the first parameter doesn't even execute the SQL used to obtain available values for the second parameter.

For example: I use the "standard" 2 spaces for Ruby, but all our existing Matlab code uses 4 spaces.   We're creating an application that understands some command-line parameters. There are some default's we would like to supply on the command-line when debugging, and these are easily set in the project settings as explained here. The thing is visual studio stores these settings in a *.csproj.user file, and the default settings for integrated source control do not check-in *.user files. We would like to just have these default command-line parameters in everyone's IDE when debugging this project. Often (but not always) when visual studio guides you into doing things a certain way it is for good reason. We probably don't want to just check-in someone's .csproj.user file... right? This question is has a few parts: Why does Visual Studio store this particular setting per user? Is there a way to alter this behavior? - Would doing so bring bad juju? Under these circumstances is it OK to check-in and share a .user file? Is there a better way to accomplish what we are trying to do here? Thank you -

• How to see functions implemented in R packages

  How do I see the actual code for the functions implemented in R packaged. For instance I have loaded the caret package and I would like to see the code used for the function "createMultiFolds". I have gone to where the packages are stored but can't seem to find what I am looking for. For instance folders like Meta in the root folder of the caret package have files with the .rds extension which I can read into R with the gzfile command but I can't still seem to find what I am looking for i.e. the exact for the functions e.g. creatMultifolds. I would like to adapt some of these functions specifically to my research needs by make small changes to the codes to output the results in the way that I want without having to "re-invent the wheel" I will be glad if someone can help me. I could use my own interface instead (something like AsyncDataInterface, wich implements the Serializable interface) but the fact is that my method will return a list custom objects AND basic objects (such as Strings, int....). So my questions are: Is it a standart behaviour? (I can't figure out why I can't use this interface in that case) Does anyone have a workaround for that kind of situation?

  Hi, I'm trying to use some off-the-shelf PHP code in RHEL5 which requires the sqlite package (not the PDO one) but it appears this is not included in the base php5.1.6 rpm bundled with RHEL5. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I don't have access to the installation media or RHN access (don't ask). There doesn't appear to be such a package in the CENTOS 5 distro either (and I've read that its not in the php-common rpm there either). Any ideas of where I can get this (withuot compiling my own PHP from scratch?) TIA

  Hi folks, I am currently developing an application for some researchers in my university.It's a small java program that you can use by command line. The next step is to package that program and deploy it to an application server. Some clients program will submit requests to the server who will call the tool that I wrote. Lately, we will add more tools to the server and he has to dispatch the requests to the right tool. Which application server fits my needs ? I have looked for Tomcat, Jetty and Glassfish but it seems that they are only used for web application. Is it possible to use those servers in some context different from web context? Which package archive should i use (jar, war) ? Any advice?

But also found this discouraging article, which make me doubt if Doctrine handles inheritance any good at all... Has anyone find a smart solution for inheritance in Symfony+Doctrine? • Packaging "hidden" asset files

  I'm placing the file '.nomedia' into a folder in order to avoid Android's MediaScanner from detecting the media files in the folder. I need to copy this folder (including '.nomedia') from the APK's assets to the SD card (so other apps can make use of these media files, etc.). When I package the APK in Eclipse, it doesn't package the '.nomedia' file. Presumably it's detecting it as a hidden file. Any ideas how to fix this? Is there a secret aapt flag I can use? I'd like to avoid copying the folder and then manually creating a '.nomedia' folder, if possible.

• Error using \Glsentrytext{} in section title.

  When using the glossaries package in a LaTeX document I occasionally want to use a glossary entry as part of section or chapter title. For example: \section{\Glsentrytext{big}} This however results in an error. Trying to use \protect\Glsentrytext{} does not solve the the problem. Note that using the non-capitalized version (\glsentrytext) does not produce any problems. Does anyone know of a way to get this to work? I use the glossaries package occasionally as way to format specific strings in a consistent way. For example \gls{big} turns into 'beam-into-gas'. Obviously I could create two glossary entries, with and without caps, to achieve this and only include one in the final glossary. That is an ugly solution though.

  I'm trying to typeset a document I'm working on. Currently I'm trying to format a piece of text such that the text consists of two colors: a fill color and a line color. In this way the header should pop out more. I found \psset with options such as linecolor and fillcolor, but I can't get it to work. Can someone provide an example of how I could do this? Just providing a color using the color-package is no problem, but also not what I want because using this package I can only provide a single color for a piece of text.

Infor PM website It is apparently used by over 1,000 companies around the world, but I have found scant information about it on the net except for what's on their own website. It covers the whole range of data warehousing and BI functions with: an OLAP environment an ETL tool a report writer (called Application Studio) an add-on to Excel to connect to the data in the cubes through a pivot table etc Does anyone have any experience with using this package? How does it compare to the big players in BI (Cognos, Microsoft SSAS, Business Objects, etc). Any pitfalls I should know about? On the other hand, does it do anything better than its competitors?

• Custom Extension not showing up wthin experimental instance

  I have a VSIX extension that I created which shows up in Visual Studio 2010 and works as designed. However I am attempting to build some Visual Studio automation which relies on this Extension and although its present in the project where I am building my automation package, when I run the package project, the visual studio experimental solution loads no problem, however when I look within the Extension Manager I do not see my registered Extension (even though it shows up within my Visual Studio project where I am building my extension. The extension is a custom shell for LightSwitch which may be a clue as to why it is not showing within my experimental instance of Visual Studio, not sure as I see other extensions I built and registered for LightSwitch showing up. Of course my issue is that when I attempt to load a solution that has a dependency on my LightSwitch extension, which otherwise loads fine outside of the Experimental Instance, fails due to the fact it can't locate my custom extension when I try to load the solution within my experimental solution.
