• macdeployqt and third party libraries

  I've got an application project that depends on a couple of shared libraries that I have created myself. According to the Qt 4.6 documentation "Deploying an Application on Mac OSX": Note: If you want a 3rd party library to be included in your application bundle, then you must add an excplicit lib entry for that library to your application's .pro file. Otherwise, the macdeployqt tool will not copy the 3rd party .dylib into the bundle. I have added lib entries to my application's .pro file but the libraries that I have written do not get copied into the bundle when I execute macdeployqt. I have the following in my .pro file: LIBS += -L../Libraries -lMyLib Everything builds okay, its just when I try to run from the bundle that I run into problems i.e. "image not found" errors. Is there a bug in macdeployqt or do I have to something more to my .pro file?

  Hi, I would like to create an image of my own. I already know its width (320*2 = 640) and height (427). So I have some raw data : unsigned char *rawImg = malloc(height * width * 4 *2 ); Then, I will fill it :) Then, I have to do something like that to get a bitmap and return a (UIImage *) : ctx = CGBitmapContextCreate(rawImg,width*2,height,8, ???, ???, kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast); UIImage * imgFinal = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:CGBitmapContextCreateImage(ctx)]; CGContextRelease(ctx); return imgFinal; But I don't know how to create my context ctx, as you can see with the "???", even tough I read the documentation...   I've been tinkering with IExternalizable, but I've noticed some unexpected behavior. So, what am I doing wrong? Is there some part of the documentation I've missed?

  In my application, i am trying to find all files of particular extension (like .pdf, .txt, etc) that are stored in the whole device (not only in Home Directory) and want to list them in table View. Is it possible to do so and if it is then can i associate file of specific extension to get it open in supporting application (any third party plug-ins).I went through numerous documentation but couldn't find the solution. • Accomplishing boost::shared_from_this() in constructor via boost::shared_from_raw(this)

  Googling and poking around the boost code, it appears that it's now possible to construct a shared_ptr to this in a constructor, by inheriting from enable_shared_from_raw and calling shared_from_raw(this) Is there any documentation or examples of this? I'm finding nothing with google. Why am I not finding any useful buzz on this on google? I would have thought using shared_from_this in a constructor would be a hot/desirable item. Should I be inheriting from both enable_shared_from_raw and enable_shared_from_this, and restricting my usage of enable_shared_from_raw when I have to? If so, why? Is there a performance hit with shared_from_raw?

• Spring 3 - Custom Security

  I am in the process of converting a legacy application from proprietary technology to a Spring based web app, leaving the backend system as is. The login service is provided by the backend system through a function call that takes in some parameter (username, password plus some others) and provides an output that includes the authroizations for the user and other properties like firstname, lastname etc. What do I need to do to weave this into Spring 3.0 security module. Looks like I need to provide a custom AuthenticationProvider implementation (is this where I call the backend function?). Do I also need a custom User and UserDetailsService implementation which needs loadUserByName(String userName)? Any pointers on good documentation for this? The reference that came with the download is okay, but doesn't help too much in terms of implementing custom security.

  Hi all My Delphi app has created a squence called frame_001.png to frame_100.png. I need that to be compiled into a movie clip. I think perhaps the easiest is to call ffmpeg from the command line, according to their documentation: For creating a video from many images: ffmpeg -f image2 -i foo-%03d.jpeg -r 12 -s WxH foo.avi The syntax foo-%03d.jpeg specifies to use a decimal number composed of three digits padded with zeroes to express the sequence number. It is the same syntax supported by the C printf function, but only formats accepting a normal integer are suitable. From: http://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-doc.html#SEC5 However my files are (lossless) png format, so I have to convert using imagemagick first. My command line is now: ffmpeg.exe -f image2 -i c:\temp\wentelreader\frame_%05d.jpg -r 12 foo.avi But then I get the error: [image2 @ 0x133a7d0]Could not find codec parameters (Video: mjpeg) c:\temp\wentelreader\Frame_C:\VID2EVA\Tools\Mencoder\wentel.bat5d.jpg: could not find codec parameters What am I doing wrong? Alternatively can this be done easily with Delphi?

• Query to return internal details about stored function in SQL Server database

  I have been given access to a SQL Server database that is currently used by 3rd party app. As such, I don't have any documentation on how that application stores the data or how it retrieves it. I can figure a few things out based on the names of various tables and the parameters that the user-defined functions takes and returns, but I'm still getting errors at every other turn. I was thinking that it would be really helpful if I could see what the stored functions were doing with the parameters given to return the output. Right now all I've been able to figure out is how to query for the input parameters and the output columns. Is there any built-in information_schema table that will expose what the function is doing between input and output?

  I'm trying to add a cuepoint to a video using OSMF. I built an OSMF video player, and I'd like to use this instead of the FLVPlayback component, which seems like the only way to add an actionscript cuepoint?   Hi, I'm trying to compute clusters on a set of points in Python, using GeoDjango. The problem: Given a set of points, output a set of clusters of those points. (i'm fine specifying # of clusters/cluster size/distance in advance to simplify) There are a few solutions on the web to do clustering, so it's a well known problem. I thought that GeoDjango would handle these types of problems out of the box, but it's not clear how - I've searched the GeoDjango documentation, Google, and a few other places, but couldn't find anything. Before I roll my own clustering solution, I thought I'd ask to see if there's a straightforward way to do this using GEOS or another package within GeoDjango.

• How can I set the minDate/maxDate for jQueryUI Datepicker using a string?

  jQueryUI Datepicker documentation states that the minDate option can be set using "a string in the current dateFormat". So I've tried the following to initialize datepickers: $("input.date").datepicker({ minDate: "01/01/2010", maxDate: "12/31/2010" }); However, this results in my datepicker having a selectable date range that goes from 11/06/2015 to 12/17/2015. I've checked the current dateformat and its mm/dd/yy, which is supposed to mean 2 digits for the month, 2 for the day, and 4 for the year, separated by slashes. I've also tried including dateFormat: "mm/dd/yy" in the inizialization statement. I've also checked the values for minDate and maxDate afterwards and they ARE being set to the values I want: 01/01/2010 and 12/31/2010. I want to be able to set min/maxDate with strings because I'm being passed these values as strings from somewhere else. Maybe someone knows why this happens and how to solve this, or a workaround to achieve this, perphaps changing the format of the date strings or something? But examples are still very simple and poor. They are based on one table and one model. Now, my question is: do they use Domain Model Design in real-world PHP projects? I've been looking for some good documentation about this, but I haven't found anything good enough, that explains how to manage several tables and transfer them to Domain Objects. As long as I know, there is Hibernate library, that has this features in Java, but what should I use in PHP (Zend Framework)?

• How to retrieve the GUID for Yahoo's Contacts API

  I'm attemping to use the Yahoo Contacts API to add an "invite your friends" feature on a site I'm building. I've found the correct web service to call (http://social.yahooapis.com/v1/user/{guid}/contacts) but it is asking for the user's GUID, not their username/password. I've searched, and am unable to find a "lookup" feature through the Yahoo API which lets me get the user's guid from their username/password. Does anyone have any experience with the Contacts API. I've reaad over the documentation, and looked at YQL as well, but I still haven't found how to get the user's guid. Thanks guys.

• How do I format positional argument help using Python's optparse?

  As mentioned in the docs the optparse.OptionParser uses an IndentedHelpFormatter to output the formatted option help, for which which I found some API documentation. I want to display a similarly formatted help text for the required, positional arguments in the usage text. Is there an adapter or a simple usage pattern that can be used for similar positional argument formatting? Clarification Preferably only using the stdlib. Optparse does great except for this one formatting nuance, which I feel like we should be able to fix without importing whole other packages. :-)

• CakePHP 1.3 Plugin Shortcut Route

  Hi, I searched a lot around the web but I couldn't find any specific sollution to this. In CakePHP 1.3, different from 1.2, if you had a controller inside a plugin, and both had the same name, you could access through "<plugin>/<action>", and it would call the 'default' controller. But in 1.3, according to this: http://cakeqs.org/eng/questions/view/setting_up_magic_routes_for_plugins_in_cakephp_1_3 It was removed, and only the 'index' action in the default plugin controller can be accessed this way. I thought about adding extra code in my routes.php file, and loop through all the plugins in my app, making such routes for every action in the controllers named after the plugin, but it doesn't seem like it's the right thing to do... any other suggestions to make this work in 1.3? or at least some very specific code documentation of this particular change? I've already read something in the 1.3.0-RC4 annoucement, but it was not clear enough.. thanks

• Loading all files in a directory in a Java applet

  How would one go about programatically loading all the resource files in a given directory in a JAR file for an applet? The resources will probably change several times over the lifetime of the program so I don't want to hardcode names in. Normally I would just traverse the directory structure using File.list(), but I get permission issues when trying to do that within an applet. I also looked at using an enumeration with something line ClassLoader.getResources() but it only finds files of the same name within the JAR file. Essentially what I want to do is (something like) this: ClassLoader imagesURL = this.getClass().getClassLoader(); MediaTracker tracker = new MediaTracker(this); Enumeration<URL> images = imagesURL.getResources("resources/images/image*.gif"); while (images.hasMoreElements()){ tracker.add(getImage(images.nextElement(), i); i++; } I know I'm probably missing some obvious function, but I've spent hours searching through tutorials and documentation for a simple way to do this within an unsigned applet.

  I am trying to create python bindings to a vala library using pygi with gobject introspection. However, I am having trouble generating the GIR files (that I am planning to compile to typelib files subsequently). According to the documentation valac should support generating GIR files.
