Now for DoExpressCheckoutPayment I've modified a few but I get a null pointer at strAck: HashMap nvp = httpcall("DoExpressCheckoutPayment", nvpstr); String strAck = nvp.get("ACK").toString(); if (strAck.equalsIgnoreCase("Success")) { return nvp; } Not sure what is wrong, any suggestions for debugging this or possible solutions?

  ... Yeah, yeah, I know traditional joins don't exist. I actually like the freebase query methodology in theory, just having a little trouble getting it to actually work for me : ) Anyone have a dumb-simple example of getting Freebase data via MQL that pulls from two different "tables"? In particular, I'm trying to get automotive data... so for example, pulling fields from both /automotive/model_year and /automotive/trim_year. I've read the documentation (for hours actually). There's a distinct possibility that I'm looking right at such an example somewhere and just not seeing it because my OLTP brain just doesn't comprehend what it's seeing. * Note * ... that the two "types" I'm working with above are siblings, not parent/child. Does freebase even allow joining data between sibling nodes... I see examples of queries pulling from parent/child, but not from siblings I don't think (or I've overlooked them).

• How to deny payment via PayPal IPN?

  Hello all, I need to create dynamic 'Pay Now' buttons on my site, and PayPal says the way to do this is via an HTML FORM with preset variables for the price, currency, and item of the purchase. I use PayPal IPN to notify me when a payment has complete. However, what's to stop someone from modifying the query parameters of the Pay Now button to change the price? Some people have told me to redirect the button through a PHP file that sends you to a PayPal payment page with the parameters in place, but the price could just as easily be manipulated in the Web browser's address bar. My question is, how can I deny a payment if the information I receive from PayPal's IPN service is invalid (if the price doesn't match our records)? I'm quite confused and couldn't find any documentation on what I'm looking for. Hopefully, you guys can help. Thanks!

  I'm brand new to Moq (using v 4) and am struggling a little with the documentation. What I'm trying to do is to Moq a method that takes a byte array and returns an object. Something like: decoderMock.Setup(d => d.Decode(????).Returns(() => tagMock.Object); The ???? is where the byte[] should be, but I can't work out how to make it so that I don't care what's in the byte array, just return the mocked object I've already set up. Moq.It.IsAny expects a generic. Any help please?

  I'm developing blog speaker app. I wanna pause the audio when bluetooth is disabled like iPod app. I thought it's not possible without using private api after reading this. Check if Bluetooth is Enabled? But, my customer told me that Rhapsody and DI Radio apps both support it. Then I found iOS5 has Core Bluetooth framework. https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/CoreBluetooth/Reference/CoreBluetooth_Framework/CoreBluetooth_Framework.pdf CBCentralManagerStatePoweredOff status seems like the one. But, the description says this api only supports Bluetooth 4.0 low energy devices. Did anyone try doing the same thing? I want to support current popular bluetooth headsets, or bluetooth enabled steering wheel on the car. I don't know if it's worth trying when it only supports some brand new bluetooth.

• "No architectures" error when compiling objective flickr for iphone device

  I'm getting the following error when I attempt to compile my XCode project to debug on my device. No architectures to compile for (ARCHS=x86_64, VALID_ARCHS=armv6 armv7). I've included ObjectiveFlickr in my project just as the readme describes. I've gone through the process several times and redownloaded objectiveFlickr a few times to start over. I've gotten objectiveFlickr to work on devices in the past. I don't know why I am suddenly having trouble. Can anybody point me to something that might hold the clue I need? Any other info I need to provide? I made only changes to my project that are specified by the OF documentation. I also get this error when compiling the included snap-n-run example project provided with OF. So I must be missing something beneath my project. Thanks, Charlie

• Escaping CURL @ symbol with PHP

  I'm writing a php application that submits via curl data to sign up for an iContact email list. However I keep getting an invalid email address error. I think this may be due to the fact that I'm escaping the @ symbol so it looks like %40 instead of @. Also, according to the php documentation for curl_setopt with CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS: The full data to post in a HTTP "POST" operation. To post a file, prepend a filename with @ and use the full path. So, is there anyway to pass the @ symbol as post data through curl in php without running it through urlencode first?

• Python Imaging: YCbCr problems

  Hi, I'm doing some image processing in Python using PIL, I need to extract the luminance layer from a series of images, and do some processing on that using numpy, then put the edited luminance layer back into the image and save it. The problem is, I can't seem to get any meaningful representation of my Image in a YCbCr format, or at least I don't understand what PIL is giving me in YCbCr. PIL documentation claims YCbCr format gives three channels, but when I grab the data out of the image using np.asarray, I get 4 channels. Ok, so I figure one must be alpha. Here is some code I'm using to test this process: import Image as im import numpy as np pengIm = im.open("Data\\Test\\Penguins.bmp") yIm = pengIm.convert("YCbCr") testIm = np.asarray(yIm) grey = testIm[:,:,0] grey = grey.astype('uint8') greyIm = im.fromarray(grey, "L") greyIm.save("Data\\Test\\grey.bmp") I'm expecting a greyscale version of my image, but what I get is this jumbled up mess: http://i.imgur.com/zlhIh.png Can anybody explain to me where I'm going wrong?   For my Bachelor Thesis I am researching how SaaS providers can arrange some sort of business continuity guarantee. You probably know the Source Code Escrow arrangements for 'shrink-wrapped' software. They give customers access to the source code and all applicable documentation whenever the software supplier gets into (financial) trouble. This clearly does not work for SaaS, because customers have no use for just the source code, and customers probably can not afford not being able to login to their CRM system for a couple weeks because the SaaS provider went bankrupt. I am currently researching different methods to solve this problem. Do you know good and practical solutions to solve this continuity problem? Or companies that already offer a good solution? • Visual Studio 2008's annoying auto-handling of block comments

  I read that great post on Visual Studio 2008 annoyances, but didn't see this one. It drives me crazy. Now, I realize that some people use block comments like this for function documentation and the like: /* * * * */ But you know, this is VS2008 and now we can use ///. The only time I ever feel the need to use C-style commenting is when I have some junk or test code that I temporarily want to remove. It absolutely drives me nuts when I do the first /* and then when I add a line after the test code, it automatically puts a space after the * and I end up with this: * / . So then I end up always having to backspace to complete the block comment. I looked through all of the C# editor settings in the VS2008 IDE, and didn't find anything relevant. Does this drive anyone else here crazy, or am I turning into a codemudgeon?

  Hi everyone, I am trying to work out a good way to handle offline/down memcached servers in my current web application that are built with PHP. Why is offline memcache servers added to the $realInstance server pool together with the online servers? Reading the memcache documentation confuses me even more: http://www.php.net/manual/en/memcache.addserver.php status Controls if the server should be flagged as online. Setting this parameter to FALSE and retry_interval to -1 allows a failed server to be kept in the pool so as not to affect the key distribution algorithm. Requests for this server will then failover or fail immediately depending on the memcache.allow_failover setting. Default to TRUE, meaning the server should be considered online. Thanks,

• Where is App.config?

  I'm trying to set up logging with Microsoft's Enterprise Library (log4net seems to be a dead project). I'm using VB .NET 2008 and VS 2008. I've searched all over the MSDN documentation, CodePlex docs (including the Hands-On labs that installed and then vanished), and online tutorials to no avail. They all refer to a mysterious "configuration file" or "App.config" that I can't find and can't seem to add. I even tried adding a new text file and renaming it "App.config" but that only made VS 2008 spit out a red wavy line on a blank file. Any suggestions for finding the elusive app.config would be greatly appreciated. (and, if that makes the EntLib configuration tool show up, I'll be absolutely delighted) Edit: I've been tricked! The tree in VS 2008 isn't a true superset-subset relationship, which is why I got so frustrated. To wit, the top of the tree: And a 'sub-section' of the tree.

• Using SortableRows and know when rows have been moved

  I want to take advantage of the sortableRows property of the jqGrid. How do I detect when a row has been moved. I have studied the documentation and looked for examples but haven't found much. I do believe it is something like jQuery("#grid").sortableRows({connectWith:'#gird', ondrop: function(){ alert("row moved") }}); but that does not work. I can move the rows, but don't seemed to have trapped the event. Is there something wrong with my syntax or my approach in general. Basically, I need to know that the rows have been rearranged so I can be sure they get saved with their new order. Thanks

• Flex 3: Embedding MovieClip Symbol to Image Control programmatically

  I've reviewed all the documentation and Google results surrounding this and I think I have everything setup correctly. My problem is that the symbol is not appearing in my app. I have a MovieClip symbol that I've embedded to my Flex Component. I need to create a new Image control for each item from my dataProvider and assign this embedded symbol as the Image's source. I thought it was simple but apparently not. Here's a stub of the code: [Embed(source="../assets/assetLib.swf", symbol="StarMC")] private var StarClass:Class; protected function rebuildChildren():void { iterator.seek( CursorBookmark.FIRST ); while ( !iterator.afterLast ) { child = new Image(); var asset:MovieClipAsset = new StarClass() as MovieClipAsset; (child as Image).source = asset; } } I know the child is being created because I can draw a shape and and that appears. • Exception handling in Boost.Asio

  Boost.Asio documentation suggests the following exception handling pattern: boost::asio::io_service io_service; ... for (;;) { try { io_service.run(); break; // run() exited normally } catch (my_exception& e) { // Deal with exception as appropriate. } } The problem with it is that the context of exception is lost at the point when it's handled. For example, if I have multiple socket sessions going on, I don't know which one caused the exception to be thrown. What would be a better way to handle the exceptions from asynchronous handlers without wrapping them in try/catch blocks?

• PHP: Facebook stream.publish and outdated template bundles?

  Ok So I haven't tried messing with the facebook PHP API for months.. it's gross. Since template bundles are apparently now defunct, how can I publish a story into my users news feed for their friends? I've also already requested permissions. Edit: The issue seems to arise from requested permissions not being set for the user when They are granted. • Selecting contents of Label Control

  Hi All I have what I consider to be a pretty unique problem here, and no idea how to implement. From what I've seen, there is no documentation, tutorials, samples and/or articles on this. I've spent weeks researching, with nothing to show. The problem: I need the user to be able to select the contents of a Label Control at runtime, and edit it. If this can be done by extending the existing Label control, great! Or, if this requires a whole new Label Control to be created, fine. So be it. Using a TextBox is not an option I'm afraid.   Spring 3.0.2, Hibernate 3.5.0, Hibernate-Validator 4.0.2.GA I am trying to inject Spring dependencies into a ConstraintValidator using: @PersistenceContext private EntityManager entityManager; I have configured the application context with: <bean id="validator" class="org.springframework.validation.beanvalidation.LocalValidatorFactoryBean"/> Which, according to the Spring documentation, should allow “custom ConstraintValidators to benefit from dependency injection like any other Spring bean” Within the debugger I can see Spring calling getBean to create the ConstraintValidator. Later when flush triggers the preInsert, a different ConstraintValidator is created and called. The problem is the EntityManager is null within this new ConstraintValidator. I’ve tried injecting other dependencies within the ConstraintValidator and these are always null. Does anyone know if it is possible to inject dependencies into a ConstraintValidator?

• Test iPhone In App Purchase without uploading binary (i.e. without bundle ID)

  I've created a new app but not uploaded a binary (not ready for review yet). However, I want to test in-app purchases. The documentation seems to state that a bundle ID is required to create an in-app purchase product. Is there any way to specify this bundle ID for creating the in-app purchase product on iTunes Connect without uploading the app binary in a way that won't cause problems when the actual binary is uploaded? What if the eventually uploaded binary has a different bundleID than the use created for testing - does it effectively invalidate the in-app purchase product?

  If I specify a system property multiple times when invoking the JVM which value will I actually get when I retrieve the property? e.g. java -Dprop=A -Dprop=B -jar my.jar What will be the result when I call System.getProperty("prop");? The Java documentation on this does not really tell me anything useful on this front. In my non-scientific testing on a couple of machines running different JVMs it seems like the last value is the one returned (which is actually the behavior I need) but I wondered if this behavior is actually defined officially anywhere or can it vary between JVMs?

  Hi all, I am working on a Moodle project and I have downloaded and installed the latest build(1.9) on my system. I'm using this framework for the very first time so presently trying to get familiar with the environment and the documentation. My need is to embed an iCal kinda calendar on Moodle's front page using the PHP iCalendar API. I downloaded the latest version of PHP iCalendar but kinda needed some help figuring things out further. I am trying to build a plug-in sorta thing which allows you to put a custom-built calendar (in place of the regular Moodle calendar) on your Moodle site. • How to do a Postgresql subquery in select clause with join in from clause like SQL Server?

  I am trying to write the following query on postgresql: select name, author_id, count(1), (select count(1) from names as n2 where n2.id = n1.id and t2.author_id = t1.author_id ) from names as n1 group by name, author_id This would certainly work on Microsft SQL Server but it does not at all on postegresql. I read its documentation a bit and it seems I could rewrite it as: select name, author_id, count(1), total from names as n1, (select count(1) as total from names as n2 where n2.id = n1.id and n2.author_id = t1.author_id ) as total group by name, author_id But that returns the following error on postegresql: "subquery in FROM cannot refer to other relations of same query level". So I'm stuck. Does anyone know how I can achieve that? Thanks

• Using Omniture ActionSource with Flash IDE

  I have a flash app built in ActionScript 3 utilizing a document class. I have followed the documentation for implementing Omniture ActionSource tracking by adding the ActionSource component to my fla's library, and then importing it into the document class and running the configuration code. However, the app fails to compile because it cannot resolve the path to the component (com.omniture.ActionSource). My class path contains a com directory (package) where most of the classes I use in my projects reside. Has anyone had success implementing ActionSource in this manner? Thanks
