• How do I restart mysql and where is my.cnf file

  I am using snow leopard mac. I installed mysql on my machine using instructions mentioned here. Everything works great. However I have two questions. 1) Where is my.cnf file? I searched the whole file system and result is empty. Is it possible that there is no my.cnf and mysql works with default values. If yes then probably I should create my.inf at /etc/mysql. Is that right? 2) How do I restar server. I know it gets started when I restart my machine. • Python 4 steps setup with progressBars

  I'm having a problem with the code below. • How to align Button to the right, without being overlapped by TextView?

  Hello, I'm trying to get something like this: http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/552/layoutoy.png. I'm using this as a list item (technically as the group view of an ExpandableListView). Here's the XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight"> <TextView android:id="@+id/list_item_text" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:ellipsize="end" /> <Button android:id="@+id/list_item_button" android:text="Click me!" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/list_item_text" /> </RelativeLayout> But this doesn't work. The Button doesn't wrap its contents, instead it uses all available horizontal space. The TextView does wrap its contents, but what I want it to do is to cut off when it overlaps the Button. In other words, I want all the buttons to be of the same width, regardless of the amount of text in the textviews. Is this at all possible?

  So I am using DocumentBuilderFactory and DocumentBuilder to parse an xml. So it is DOM parser. But what I am trying to do is extract byte-array data (its an image encoded in base64) Store it in one object and later in code write it out to another xml encoded in base64. What is the best way to store this in btw. Store it as string? or as ByteArray? How can I extract byte array data in best way and write it out. I am not experienced with this so wanted to get opinion from the group. UPDATE: I am given XML I do not have control of incoming XML that comes in binary64 encoded < byte-array > ... base64 encoded image ... < /byte-array > Using parser I have I need to store this node and question is should that be byte or string and then writing it out to another node in new xml. again in base64 encoding. thanks

• In Varnish, how can I read the Set-Cookie response header?

  I am trying to detect if my application has set a cookie that holds an "alert message" for the user on the next page, where the Javascript displays it if detected. In my vcl_fetch(), I need to detect if the specific cookie value "alert_message" appears anywhere in the Set-Cookie header (presumably in the VCL variable beresp.http.Set-Cookie). If detected, then I do not want to cache that next page (since Varnish strips the Set-Cookie header by default, which would obliterate the alert message before it makes it back to the browser). So here is my simple test: if(beresp.http.Set-Cookie ~ "alert_message") { set req.http.no_cache = 1; } Strangely, it fails to evaluate to true. • gl_FragColor and glReadPixels

  I am still trying to read pixels from fragment shader and I have some questions. I know that gl_FragColor returns with vec4 meaning RGBA, 4 channels. After that, I am using glReadPixels to read FBO and write it in data GLubyte *pixels = new GLubyte[640*480*4]; glReadPixels(0, 0, 640,480, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, pixels); This works fine but it really has speed issue. Instead of this, I want to just read RGB so ignore alpha channels. I tried: GLubyte *pixels = new GLubyte[640*480*3]; glReadPixels(0, 0, 640,480, GL_RGB, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, pixels); instead and this didn't work though. I guess it's because gl_FragColor returns 4 channels and maybe I should do something before this? Actually, since my returned image (gl_FragColor) is grayscale, I did something like float gray = 0.5 //or some other values gl_FragColor = vec4(gray,gray,gray,1.0); So is there any efficient way to use glReadPixels instead of using the first 4 channels method? Any suggestion? By the way, this is on opengl es 2.0 code.

  When I use the pimpl idiom, is it a good idea to put all the methods definitions inside the class definition? For example: // in A.h class A { class impl; boost::scoped_ptr<impl> pimpl; public: A(); int foo(); } // in A.cpp class A::impl { // method defined in class int foo() { return 42; } // as opposed to only declaring the method, and defining elsewhere: float bar(); }; A::A() : pimpl(new impl) { } int A::foo() { return pimpl->foo(); } As far as I know, the only problems with putting a method definition inside a class definition is that (1) the implementation is visible in files that include the class definition, and (2) the compiler may make the method inline. These are not problems in this case since the class is defined in a private file, and inlining has no effect since the methods are called in only one place. The advantage of putting the definition inside the class is that you don't have to repeat the method signature. So, is this OK? Are there any other issues to be aware of?

If that callback method once again calls BeginReceive in my mind it would be very similar to recursion. How is that this does not cause a stackoverflow exception.   I need to post raw xml to a site and read the response. With the following code I keep getting an "Unknown File Format" error and I'm not sure why.
