  • Struts2 converting empty string parameter to an "int"

    How does one convert an empty string to an int using Struts2. When the application encounters this parameter with no value, like from an empty text field, it throws the following exception. java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.XXXXXXXXXXXX.setID([Ljava.lang.String;) Where ID is an integer, and the URL is: Something.action?ID=&other=rawr Is there a way to do this without using an Integer (class)? Do I have to write a type converter?

  • rendering specific fields with Rails

    Hi, If I have an object say @user and I want to render only certain fields in it say first_name and last_name(I'm using AMF) render :amf => @user how do I do that? I know I can use :select when doing the 'find' but I need to use the other field at the server side but don't want to send them with AMF to the client side and I don't want to do a second 'find' Thanks, Tam

  • Microsoft Word Document Controls not accepting carriage returns

    So, I have a Microsoft Word 2007 Document with several Plain Text Format (I have tried Rich Text Format as well) controls which accept input via XML. For carriage returns, I had the string being passed through XML containing "\r\n" when I wanted a carriage return, but the word document ignored that and just kept wrapping things on the same line. I also tried replacing the \r\n with System.Environment.NewLine in my C# mapper, but that just put in \r\n anyway, which still didn't work. Note also that on the control itself I have set it to "Allow Carriage Returns (Multiple Paragrpahs)" in the control properties.     how can i write the query, to update the table videos, and set the value of field name to 'something' where the average is max(), or UPDATE the table, where average has the second value by size!!! i think the query must look like this!!! UPDATE videos SET name = 'something' WHERE average IN (SELECT `average` FROM `videos` ORDER BY `average` DESC LIMIT 1) but it doesn't work!!!

    I am trying to extend the User model so that I can add my own custom fields but I keep getting an error stating: 'NoneType' object has no attribute '_default_manager' whenever I try to use user.get_profile() to add values to the custom field i.e. whenever I use it like so: user = User.objects.create_user(username, email, password) user.first_name = fname user.last_name = lname user.save() uinfo = user.get_profile() uinfo.timezone = "Asia/Pune" uinfo.save() I have already followed the steps given at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/44109/extending-the-user-model-with-custom-fields-in-django/965883#965883 with no luck.

  • Handling ID's with db4o and ASP.NET MVC2

    So, i'm looking at the TekPub sample for ASP.NET MVC2 (http://mvcstarter.codeplex.com/) using DB4o and there are a bunch of templates to create controllers etc, the generated code looks like: public ActionResult Details(int id) { var item = _session.Single<Account>(x=>x.ID == id); return View(item); } Now, my understanding is that using DB4o or a simliar object database that ID's are not required, so how/what exactly do I pass to enable this kind of templated code to function? UPDATE: Both answers were useful, I have modifed the templates to use GUID as the ID. I will add any relevant code/notes here once I see how it works out.

I can make them either display besides the input fields OR inside a validation summary, but not in both. I'd like to have the error messages duplicated (one for the input field and another for the validation summary). Is it possible? If yes, how? Thanks

  • Cannot evaluate expression error in ONE project for years

    Just tired to see this error every time for years only in ONE project: "Cannot evaluate expression because a thread is stopped at a point where garbage collection is impossible, possibly because the code is optimized" Almost every property or field displays this message. From vs2005+.net2.0 to vs2008+.net3.5 now. Does anybody know how to fix it?
