    I have the following SQL Expression Field in my Crystal Report 11.5 {fn CONCAT({fn CONCAT("SPR_PRODUCT"."PRODUCT_ID","SPR_PRODUCT_SUB_ITEM"."P_SUB_ITEM_ID" )},{fn CONCAT("SPR_PRODUCT_ITEM"."P_ITEM_ID","SPR_PRODUCT_GROUP"."P_GROUP_ID" )} )} It works well in the Preview Mode. But when I use the report in my VB.NET 2008 Project it says the following: Error in compiling SQL Expression : SQL Expressions can not be used in this report.. Error in File <...>.rpt: SQL Expression error: Error in compiling SQL Expression : SQL Expressions can not be used in this report... Please help me by telling how can I use the SQL Expression field in VB.NET ? Thanks in Advance.

  • Problem with importing an mdf created with SQL Server Express 2008 into SQL Server 2005

    The question is probably extremely easy to resolve, but I need to resolve it because I need to carry on with my project. I am using SQL Server Express 2008 at home, and I've been working on an ASP.NET MVC app that stores my DB in an mdf file in the project's folder. The problem is that the SQL Server in the Uni labs is SQL Server 2005, and when I try to open the mdf file with the VS Server Explorer,It says that the version of the mdf file is more than the server can accept. The only option that comes to my mind is exporting the DB as an sql file, just like I've done it thousand times with phpmyadmin. the thing is that the SQL Management Studio Express is not the most usable tool in the world, and for some strange reason all the articles I could find in Google were irrelevant. Please, help.

    How are you supposed to unit test a web service in C# with Visual Studio 2008? When I generate a unit test it adds an actual reference to the web service class instead of a web reference. It sets the attributes specified in: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms243399(VS.80).aspx#TestingWebServiceLocally Yet, it will complete without executing the test. I attempted to add the call to WebServiceHelper.TryUrlRedirection(...) but the call does not like the target since it inherits from WebService not WebClientProtocol. Thanks, Steven

  • Including MSVRC100.dll in C++ exe

    I created a simple C executable in Visual C++ 2010, but when others tried it they got a missing MSVCR100.dll error. Apparently, the user needs to install the Visual C++ Redistributable Package in order to run the exe. Is there any way I can instead include MSVCR100.dll inside the exe (so it's just one file, not sitting in the same folder) so people can just run the executable and have it work?   • Visual Studio 2008 - The breakpoint cannot be hit

    I know that many people have had this problem... but I am now having it and cannot solve the issue. VS 2008 is randomly giving me an error after working on a project for weeks. When I set a debug point, I get a warning: The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document. I have re-built the solution with no debug points and re-tried. I have also tried to Load Symbols from path and that has not worked either... Can someone please help walk me through the necessary steps to getting my debug function working again. Thanks.

    Did anyone get that to work? I mean, unit testing .Net CF apps on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 in Visual Studio 2008. It works great for a WM 6 Pro target, but not for a WM 6.5.3 target. I get this error: The test adapter ('Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.TestTypes.Unit.UnitTestAdapter, Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Tips.UnitTest.Adapter, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a') required to execute this test could not be loaded. Check that the test adapter is installed properly. Not enough storage is available to process this command. Yes, I can read the error text, but I don't understand the failed run. Any clues?

I want to copy/paste a ton of controls without them being called Checkbox1 etc. I'd rather rename them manually since its only a small change to the name.

  • MSVC 2008 - Unresolved External errors with LIB but only with DLL, not with EXE project

    I have a DLL that I am trying to link with a libjpeg LIB using MSVC 2008 that is generating Unresolved External Symbol errors for the libjpeg functions. I also have a test project that links with the exact same libjpeg library file and links without error and runs fine too. I have triple-checked my LIB path and dependent LIBS list settings and literally copy and pasted them from the EXE project to the DLL project. I still get the errors. I do have the libjpeg include headers surrounded by extern "C" so it is not a name mangling issue and the unresolved external warnings show the "missing" libjpeg functions as undecorated (just a leading underscore and the @ sign parameter byte count suffix after each name). What could make the linker with the DLL project be unable to find the functions properly when the test EXE project has no trouble at all? I'm using the pre-compiled 32-bit static multi-threaded debug library which I downloaded from ClanLib. Thanks, Robert

    Hi, we have Crystal Reports 2008 on the server, and use the Java SDK to display reports and convert them to PDF. Since the server hat its own database, we have to set the data source on the DatabaseController to make CR connect to this database. We do it like specified in the docs, and tried the functions in CRJavaHelper, but for a reason unknown to me setting the connection string takes 300ms to 1500ms. What is the fastest way to tell Crystal which datasource to use in its reports? I already saw a JNDI name somewhere, but i don't believe CR actually does a JNDI lookup to find an existing datasource, doesn't it?

    Searched SO and Everywhere else, including the .net developers guide to directory services programming book - no luck. I am trying to create a simple password reset web page that allows the user to change their password. The change password portion of the code is working fine. For the users I would also like to display when their current password will expire next. Using the sample code from the book mentioned above I was able to get all of the code setup however, the attribute that is returned is always equal to Long.MinValue and hence cannot be inverted to a positive number, plus this means it did not find the proper domain setting. Does anyone have sample code or references for getting the password expiration in a Windows 2008 or R2 domain environment where password policies can be different for each user?

    I have a report designed in Crystal 2008. The report has a parameter field called "Member ID" that I want to use to get a string input from the user running the report. However, I want to do some sort of validation to ensure that the ID they entered is valid (it exists in a database table that I already have set up). Is there any way to do this? I know you can set up dynamic parameters that would give the user a dropdown list of Member ID values to choose from based on the data stored in my database table. But I don't want to make the user sort through thousands of IDs in a dropdown. I just want them to manually enter an ID and then have the report check the entered value against a database table. Is this possible?

What I am struggling to figure out at moment is the best way to handle a “failback” situation once a failover has occurred.     I have a SQL Server 2005 database with some Stored Procedures (SP) that I would like to debug...essentially I would just like to check variable values at certain points throughout the SP execution. I have SSMS 2008, but when I try to use the debugger, I get an error that it can't debug SQL Server 2005 databases. And I can't use the Visual Studio debugger (by stepping into the SP via Server Explorer) because Remote Debugging is blocked by our firewall, and I'm rightfully not allowed to touch the firewall. So my question is how can I check variable values at certain points in the SP execution? Is there some way to output those values somewhere, perhaps along with some text?

    Hello All I have created a simple windows application in .NET 2008. Im packaging the same into a setup file using .NET Setup and Deployment. Also i am customizing it to include a License Agreement UI. And i am pointing the License Agreement window to read the license.rtf file which is being included in the Application folder. After successful build, if i run the setup file i can see the License Agreement window but i cannot see the content of my file. Any ideas what is the issue behind this ? Regards CL

On the UK MSDN site however, the only options are to buy with MSDN for £484.99. Obviously a big difference in price there!     I have a build in TFS 2008 which includes the running of a UnitTest project. I have configured my build as such that in the drop folder after each build, I get a StyleCop.log, FxCop.log and would like to place the trx or output from the unit tests here also. I can see that my unit tests are running as part of the build, however currently I cannot find were the output is saved to or find a way of setting the ouput to my drop location ($(DropLocation)\$(BuildNumber)\MyUnitTests.txt) My unit tests are included by using the following:- <RunTest>true</RunTest> ... <ItemGroup> <TestContainer Include="$(OutDir)\%2aMyUnitTests.dll" /> </ItemGroup> Can somebody help explain how I can achieve this.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2: ASP queries to IIS fail with UAC enabled

    I have some ASP code that creates a virtual directory in IIS. However, when running on IIS7 in Windows Server 2008 R2, the call to GetObject fails with "permission denied". This only occurs when UAC is enabled; the entire process works perfectly if UAC is disabled. Set objIIS = GetObject("IIS://localhost/W3SVC/" & siteNumber & "/Root") siteNumber itself is a valid parameter (as the system works fine if UAC is off). Any ideas of a workaround I can make for this? Unfortunately turning off UAC at this point is not an option.

    Is there a way to detect whether two EXE's (compiled from VS.Net 2008 for C++/MFC) do not have any code-level changes between them i.e. for purposes of knowing that there have been no statement changes.     Hi all, I am currently working on a multi branch desktop based project using VB.NET 2008. My Admin want to see the list of currently working branches and not working branches. Additionally they want to know how long a branch is not working. To display the offline branches I first take a ListBox control named lstListBranch and then upon that control I take another ListBox control named lstListTime to display the offline time. I want to permanently hide the scrollbar for lstListTime control and want to scroll lstListTime when lstListBranch is scrolled. Can anyone help me in that purpose? Thanks in advance.
