    hi, i have a date in this format : dd.mm.yyyy when i instantiate a javascript date with it, it gives me a NaN in c# i can specify a dateformat, to say: here you have my string, it's in this format, please make a Datetime of it. is this possible in javascript too, and if not, is there an easy way? i would prefer not to use a substring for day, substring for month etc. because my method must also be capable of german, italian, english etc dates.

    Hi I have three tables and I want to know how much jobs with the wage of 1000 an employee has had The first SQL query gives me the names of all the employees that has recieved 1000 for a job SELECT distinct first_name FROM employee, job, link WHERE job.wage = 1000 AND job.job_id = link.job_id and employee.employee_id = link.employee_id; The second SQL query gives me the total number for all employees of how much jobs they have made for 1000 SELECT count(wage) FROM employee, job, link WHERE job.wage = 1000 AND job.job_id = link.job_id and employee.employee_id = link.employee_id; I was wondering if there was a way of joining both queries and also making the second for each specific employee???

  • Best way to create a Unique ID field for an enum

    What is the best way to get a Unique ID from an ENUM that will stay consistent between repeated execution of the program? Currently I am doing this manually by passing an ID to the enum constructor. I don't really want to do this is I can help it. Another option would be to use a static field that gets incremented for each enum value. The problem is that if later I decide to move the enum fields around or delete some this will cause problems with my program as the ID will be saved into user preferences. The ID can be any basic type or a String.

    I have a factorymethod that either returns an object of baseclass or one that is of derivedclass (a derived class of baseclass). The derived class has a method virtual void foo(int x) that takes one argument. baseclass however has virtual void foo() without an argument. In my code, a factory method returns a pointer of type bar that definetly points to an object of class derivedclass. However since this is only known at runtime I get a compiler error saying that foo() does not take an argument.     I'm passing a method as a variable to be used as a callback. When its called, the "this" is not the object the method is a member of. How do I go about getting access to the method's object instance so I can get access to it variables and other member functions? I have no control over the callback call method, its a separate library. All I do is call the binding from my object init method.     I have this: var $ul = $(this).children("ul"); $ul.animate({opacity: 0}, 1000); $ul.delay(1000).css("display", "none") It's for my dropdown menu, and I want it to fade off before it disappears using the display: none; CSS property. However it appears that the .delay() cannot be used on the .css(); it doesn't work, the $ul just disappears right away. I can't use $ul.animate({opacity: 0, display: "none"}, 1000); either.
