• Where is my classpath being set?

  Whenever I open a Bash shell, my classpath is "someProgram". I know that adding an export entry to ".bashrc" changes my classpath, but I want to know where "someProgram" is being added to the classpath (it's not in ".bashrc"). Is there a way to track down where this is being set, or some typical spots I should be checking besides ".bashrc"? Details: I'm using Ubuntu 9.10. • Difference between Apache Tapestry and Apache Wicket

  Apache Wicket ( http://wicket.apache.org/ ) and Apache Tapestry ( http://wicket.apache.org/ ) are both component oriented web frameworks - contrary to action based frameworks like Stripes - by the Apache Foundation. Both allow you to build your application from components in Java. They both look very similar to me. What are the differences between those two frameworks? Has someone experience in both? Specifically: How is their performance, how much can state handling be customized, can they be used stateless? What is the difference in their component model? What would you choose for which applications? How do they integrate with Guice, Spring, JSR 299? Edit: I have read the documentation for both and I have used both. The questions cannot be answered sufficently from reading the documentation, but from the experience from using these for some time, e.g. how to use Wicket in a stateless mode for high performance sites. • Very Intermittent Orientation on Device & Simulator

  I've noticed that I'm getting very intermittent orientation on my device & the simulator. I have a modal view controller that I present, and that is the only thing in my app which supports rotation. If I launch the app in portrait without moving the device, open the modal VC and then rotate the device, it usually works. However sometimes if I open the app holding the device in landscape, then rotate to portrait, launch the VC and then rotate the device, no rotation occurs. It seems very intermittent. Sometimes if I launch the app in portrait mode and then open the VC and rotate the device, nothing happens, and until I quit and relaunch it no orientation occurs in the app. It's strange because 50% of the time it works! Whenever I launch it through Xcode and set breakpoints in shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation it always works! Anyone ever had this or know what's going on?

  Hi, I'm stuck with jboss and blazeds clusterization. What I have now is : 2 Jboss Instances, running in all mode One load balancer with apache and mod_jk, as suggested by Jboss docs A spring/flex integration app A flex application that I do not want to throw errors when one of my JBoss instances falls I find Adobe documentation really lacking, and being new at clustering, jgroups and balancing I cannot find how to deploy my app in clustered environment. From what I understood if configured correctly blazeds should tell flex client about failover servers upon connection. Then if flex client can't connect to the main server it goes to another. But the hard part for me is getting there. Can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks in advance

  Hello. I have a problem with fill the input field on my webaplication. When i use selenium ide, and record my steps and next play in slow mode - all works good. But when i try to use that when i build a java script i have a problem. On the selenium ide its looks like that: selenium.type("//div[@id='startPoint']/div/div[2]/div[2]/input", "krakow"); when i run it on selenium rc i have error like: ERROR: Element //div[@id='startPoint']/div/div[2]/div[2]/input not found Anyone know how can i solve that problem ?   I'm new to ubuntu, and might have had a couple of false starts updating ruby / rails. • RabbitMQ serializing messages from queue with multiple consumers

  Hi there, I'm having a problem where I have a queue set up in shared mode and multiple consumers bound to it. The issue is that it appears that rabbitmq is serializing the messages, that is, only one consumer at a time is able to run. I need this to be parallel, however, I can't seem to figure out how. Each consumer is running in its own process. There are plenty of messages in the queue. I'm using py-amqplib to interface with RabbitMQ. Any thoughts?

• WCF - WebReferences not working

  At the client end, I have generated a Proxy using SvcUtil.exe and it is working fine. Then I have added a WebReference to the client assembly and calling the same method. But it is not working. My program is running in console mode and the method is suppose to return a string. It is not returning the string. I just see a blank console window. No exception is thrown. And after setting a debug point on the method call I see that, program is halted on the method call for ever. What should I look for to solve the problem? I am using VS2005. And adding the webReference by right-clicking the client project and then clicking "Add Web Reference" pop-up menu.

  Hi, i need to develop an iPhone application that is a Client of serverside application. This application is not for customer but for sell agents. I know that if i try to send to Apple to put on Apple Store they reject it because the application have no sense for Apple Store. The company is small so i can't use the Enterprise program. The only way i can use now is to use Ad Hoc mode but in this case if i made an update you need iTunes and i must find a way to avoid this. Thanks for the help.

  I am making an application for Windows Mobile 6.1 Pocket PC (Touchscreen). I know when a Pocket PC's screen turns off, it goes into a standby mode and applications are pretty much halted in the background. My application can't do that. It needs to keep going. So my question is, how can I keep the phone alive (backlight turned on) until my application is done? An example of this would be video streaming applications such as Youtube. It keeps the phone on while the video is playing.

• ASP.NET Gridview Checkbox value to DataTable

  Hey all, First off, im using a checkbox to highlight a true or false value from a dataset which I want to be able to change it. Unfortunately databinding the DataTable to the GridView checkboxes doesnt work (as you probably know) as it requires it to be in "edit" mode. The way I've gotten round this is having the checkbox reading the data table value seperately rather than being databound and locked: Checked='<%# Convert.ToBoolean(Eval("myValue")) %>' So that solves checkbox values from DataTable - GridView, now I need to do the opposite having the changed checkbox values go from GridView - DataTable as it is not ready to submit it to my data source (SQL) just yet. I figure I need to run a loop through the GridView rows, thats a give'un, what I can't figure out is how to replace/update just a single value in a row of a DataTable , only the ability to add or remove an entire row by the looks of things (something I don't want to do). So can anyone offer a workaround? Or is there a way to have a databound but always editable checkbox in a gridview?

  I have tried two brands of ctypes (ctypes-opencv and another) wrappers for OpenCV (2.0 from svn head), can use Python and OpenCV in the Python console, but whenever I try to import the packages (from ctypes_opencv import *) from another Python file, I get the following error message: OSError: dlopen(/usr/local/lib/libcv.dylib, 6): Symbol not found: __ZN2cv10fastMallocEm Referenced from: /usr/local/lib/libcv.dylib Expected in: flat namespace And some more Python errors: module body in __init__.py at line 18 from ctypes_opencv.cxcore import * module body in cxcore.py at line 80 _cxDLL, _cvDLL, _hgDLL = detect_opencv() function detect_opencv in cxcore.py at line 59 cvDLL = cdll.LoadLibrary(find_lib('cv')) function LoadLibrary in __init__.py at line 431 return self._dlltype(name) function __init__ in __init__.py at line 353 self._handle = _dlopen(self._name, mode) I most recently built OpenCV using flags the ctypes_opencv wiki recommended: ENABLE_SSE(2) OFF and BUILD_NEW_PYTHON_SUPPORT OFF. I also tried using the MacPorts install of OpenCV, got the same messages, uninstalled it, and now it errors out as well. :P And if that wasn't enough, I tried using the latest ctypes wrapper, but get boost-jam errors. • Change Emacs Default Coding System

  My problem stems from Emacs inserting the coding system headers into source files containing non-ascii characters: # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- My coworkers do not like these headers being checked into our repositories. I don't want them inserted into my files because Emacs automatically detects that the file should be UTF-8 regardless so there doesn't seem to be any benefit to anyone. I would like to simply set Emacs to use UTF-8 automatically for all files, yet it seems to disagree with this idea. In an effort to fix this, I've added the following to my .emacs: (prefer-coding-system 'utf-8) (setq coding-system-for-read 'utf-8) (setq coding-system-for-write 'utf-8) This does not seem to solve my problem. Emacs still inserts the coding-system headers into my files. Anyone have any ideas? EDIT: I think this problem is specifically related to ruby-mode. I still can't turn it off though.

  first of all, I am very new to mac and Iphone development. I have a project, that uses the OpenGL framework. In order to try to get some other aspect of the project to work, I may have fiddled around the developer libraries (it was more then a week ago so i don't remember exactly what I did). now when I try to build the project I get "framework not found OpenGL". I have already uninstall xcode completely: sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools –mode=all and reinstalled it, but stil the same error.

• Rotate image in Quartz? Image is upside down! (iPhone)

  I don't want to transform the ENTIRE context. I'm making a game with Quartz, and I'm drawing my player with lines, rects and ellipses. And then I have diamong.png which I rendered at 0,0 in the top left of the screen. Problem is... It renders upside down! How would I rotate it 180 degrees?   This might sound like a really stupid question, but is there anyway to run an Adobe AIR application in a headless server side mode on a non-UI server (i.e. Linux)? I'm trying to build server side bots to interact with an API (grapevinetalk.com) and I want to use existing code to do that without having to re-write all the data munging etc for a new application. The application I'm trying to port is essentially a jQuery based AIR desktop app that I want to reuse for server side interactions. • MooTools Sortables with horizontal list having problems

  I am having problems sorting list items using the Sortables class when the list items are displayed horizontally. Removing this style fixed everything: display: inline Created an example on jsfiddle. This works. Check the stylesheet for .countries li - it does not display the list inline - http://jsfiddle.net/Wgpqw/ This does not work properly. I can drag the list items around the list, but the sort randomly happens when moving around - http://jsfiddle.net/Wgpqw/1/ I suspect it has something to do with the list element positioning in inline mode. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Hi all, I would like to know how to efficiently implement filesystem changes in java? Say I got a file in a folder and modify that file. I would like to be notified by java about this change as soon as possible(no frequently polling if possible.). • LocalUser access for WCF hosted in IIS

  I have tried every combination to allow unauthenticated access to WCF as in "LocalUser" accounts, in IIS without success. Here is what I've most recently tried: wsHttpBinding with Message security and mode set to "None". IIS anonymous access enabled, all others disabled, folder level access at default (but granted read access to "Users" which is all users in our domain). I understand I may not have provided enough information to solve the issue, but perhaps somebody can point me in the right direction - is this likely to be a IIS configuration issue or a WCF configuration issue... if WCF, is it likely to be a client level or server level issue? The error I get when attempting to access here is "User is not authenticated". We have ASMX services in the domain which are behaving properly, I am the first developer using WCF here.

• Operating system for visualization app in 6 monitors

  Hi. I have to plan the development for an application with these major requirements: Show different graphical data and animations in 6 monitors, in fullscreen mode. The hardware to be used is a PC with 3 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 cards. I have some expertise working with OpenGL, but never with more than one monitor. I have the (some limited) freedom to choose an operating system for the application. My options are: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu 8.04/10.04. I would like to know, if you have some expertise or knowledge in the multi-monitor application development field, what is the recommended operating system for this kind of application? And, do I need any software other than the operating system and the NVIDIA drivers to be able to use the 6 monitors in fullscreen, showing different things in each one of them?
