  • JQuery Datepicker Date highlight Issue

    - by Isola Olufemi
    I have an in-line date picker in which I want to highlight some dates based on array of strings from the server side. I found out the on load of the page with the datepicker, events the matches in the current month will not be highlighted. when I click the next month button the events on the next moth will be highlighted. What I discovered that i the matching only get highlighted when I click to the next month and not when I click back to the previous month. Below is my script: var actionCalDates = new Array(); function getDates(month, year) { $.ajax({ url: "/Index/GetAllAlerts", data: { month: month, year: year }, success: function (result) { var date = new Date(); var i = new Number(date.getMonth()); i += 1; actionCalDates = result.split(","); } }); } function getTitle(ar, d) { var result = ""; for (var i = 0; i < ar.length; i++) { if (ar[i].indexOf(d) != -1) { var e = actionCalDates[i].split(";"); result += e[0] + "\n"; } } return result; } $('#calendar').datepicker({ numberOfMonths: [1, 1], showCurrentAtPos: 0, dateFormat: 'dd/mm/y', beforeShowDay: function (thedate) { var theday = thedate.getDate(); var x = new Number(thedate.getMonth()); x += 1; var date = thedate.getDate() + "/" + x + "/" + thedate.getFullYear(); getDates(x, thedate.getFullYear()); for (var i = 0; i < actionCalDates.length; i++) { var entry = actionCalDates[i].split(";"); if (date == entry[1]) { return [true, "highlight", getTitle(actionCalDates, date)]; } } return [true, "", ""]; }, onChangeMonthYear: function (year, month, inst) { getDates(month, year); }, onSelect: function (d, instance) { $.ajax({ url: '/Index/AlertConvertDate', datatype: 'text', data: { dateString: d }, error: function (xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) { alert(xhr.statusText); alert(thrownError); }, success: function (data) { window.SetHomeContent(data); } }); } }); Please can someone point out where I went wrong?   • jQuery noob: change border color of element on hover of another element.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    I'd try to explain what I mean, but there is an easier way: click here for jsfiddle example. Basically I want the border color of the div rfrsh_btn to change when productOptionsMenu is hovered over. I'm using jQuery with the .noConflict var because this site also uses Prototype. jQuery: var $j = jQuery.noConflict(); $j(".productOptionsMenu").hover( function () { $j(#rfrsh_btn).css({"border-color":"#85c222"}); }; ); Thanks :)

  • Use Zip to Pre-Populate City/State Form with jQuery AJAX

    - by Paul
    I'm running into a problem that I can solve fine by just submitting a form and calling a db to retrieve/echo the information, but AJAX seems to be a bit different for doing this (and is what I need). Earlier in a form process I ask for the zip code like so: <input type="text" maxlength="5" size="5" id="zip" /> Then I have a button to continue, but this button just runs a javascript function that shows the rest of the form. When the rest of the form shows, I want to pre-populate the City input with their city, and pre-populate the State dropdown with their state. I figured I would have to find a way to set city/state to variables, and echo the variables into the form. But I can't figure out how to get/set those variables with AJAX as opposed to a form submit. Here's how I did it without ajax: $zip = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['zip']); $q = " SELECT city FROM citystatezip WHERE zip = $zip"; $r = mysql_query($q); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($r); $city = $row['city']; Can anybody help me out with using AJAX to set these variables? Thanks!

  • Jquery validation on click event instead of on submit

    - by Mazzi
    I looked all around SOF but no luck to find me answer. It is either too easy or the answer is not just there. What I simply need to do is to validate the form when my <img id='submit'/> is clicked and submit it afterwards. $(document).ready(function(){ $('#submit').click(function() { }); // Validation $('#suzuki_scb').validate({ // My Rules and Messages! }); });

  • Jquery: get ancestors (or descendants) and self

    - by gsakkis
    One can use matchedset.find(selector) / matchedset.parents(selector) to get the descendants/ancestors of the current matched set filtered by a sealector, but that doesn't include the matched set itself (if it happens to match the selector too). Is there a better (more consise and/or faster) way to get it than matchedset.find(selector).add(matchedset.filter(selector)) and the respective for parents() ?

  • Youtube video on load through Jquery/JS

    - by jonthecoder2346
    My goal is to display a youtube video through a javascript function that will read the embedded code and load the video automatically in the div assigned. But I am not getting anything shown in the div assigned for the video. Is it because it has to be triggered by a button click? <script type="text/javascript"> var last_cnad_text_1 = ''; var options_cnad_text_1 = { embedMethod:'fill', maxWidth:320, maxHeight: 320 }; function loadVideo() { val = $('#cnad_text_1').val(); if ( val != '' && val != last_cnad_text_1 ) { last_cnad_text_1 = val; $("#embed_cnad_text_1").oembed(val,options_cnad_text_1); } } $(function(){ $('#cnad_text_1').keydown(loadVideo()); $('#cnad_text_1').click(loadVideo()); $('#cnad_text_1').change(loadVideo()); }); </script> <body> <input id="cnad_text_1" type="text" value="" size="60" name="cnad[text_1]"> <div id="embed_cnad_text_1"></div> </body> </html>

  • Another passing variable through function jQuery/JS problem...

    - by dallen
    Here's my code: function mouseOver(variable) { return function() { $(variable).fadeIn(100); }; } function mouseOut(variable) { return function() { $(variable).fadeOut(100); }; } function lawyer(var1, var2, var3, var4) { return function() { $(var1).bind('mouseenter', mouseOver(var2)).bind('mouseleave', mouseOut(var2)).click( function() { $(var1).unbind('mouseenter').unbind('mouseleave'); $(var1).removeClass('off').addClass('on'); $(var3).bind('mouseenter', mouseOver(var4)).bind('mouseleave', mouseOut(var4)); $(var3).removeClass('on').addClass('off'); $(var4).hide(); }); } } lawyer("#group", ".b", "#group2", ".l"); What would be the reason for this not working? It works in that it hides $(var4).hide();, but clicking on the object doesn't seem to do anything. It works if I take the code out of a function and just copy/paste it a few times and change the targets. I'm not seeing it... Any help would be appreciated!

  • Resize text area to fit all text on load jquery

    - by CR41G14
    I understand there has been a lot of discussion on this but I have yet to find a solution to fix my needs. Basically I need to autogrow a text area not when you type but on load. I am pulling in content from a database and dependant on the user's settings an overlay is produced over the text area, but upon doing this the text areas are not scrollable therefore I need to autosize these to show all the text. I have tried scrollHeight but this is not working great as there are multiple text boxes on the screen Thanks

  • jquery event listening, non-standard events

    - by Stacey
    I'm attempting to build a way for my selectors to 'listen' to 'global' events that are beyond the typical 'click' 'change' 'submit' etc. I've explored the various 'eventmanagers' that I could find, and they're all still designed for forms. Is there any way to do something like this for non-standard (i.e. custom) events? The goal is to have selectors subscribe to an event, and then be able to trigger it in one place and it will raise it for everything subscribed to it.

  • Jquery disable link for 5 seconds

    - by John
    I have this code: $('#page-refresh').click( function() { $.ajax({ url: "/page1.php", cache: false, dataType: "html", success: function(data) { $('#pagelist').html(data); } }); return false; }); In this code is it possible that on the ajax success function it disables the #page-refresh click for 5 seconds then re-enable it? Basically if a person clicks the button and this action happens I dont want them to click and run this action again for another 5 seconds. I looked at delay() to unbind the click for this then bind it again but once it unbinded it never allowed me to click the button anymore.

  • Problems using jQuery $.ajax to pass data

    - by iboeno
    I'm using ASP.NET and attempting to call a method with a signature of [WebMethod] public static string GetInfo(string id){...} using the following javascript: var elementValue = $("#element").attr('id'); var d = "{id : " + elementValue + "}"; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "../WebPage.aspx/GetInfo", data: d, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function(msg) { //do this } }); And this is not working. If instead I set elementValue = 2; it works fine. If I try to hardcode in a string value for testing purposes e.g. elementValue = "nameToLookUp"; It fails. Why is this happening, and how do I resolve it? On a side not, why is type: required to be POST instead of a GET? In the end I just want to pass a string value I want to look up in a DB and retrieving some json data.
