• Sed issue with numbers exceeding 9

  May be my problem is kinda obvious for you but I really need to get a solution. I need to generate a file.sql file from a file.csv, so I use this command : cat file.csv |sed "s/\(.*\),\(.*\)/insert into table(value1, value2) values\('\1','\2'\);/g" > file.sql It works perfectly, but when the values exceed 9 (for example for \10, \11 etc...) it takes consideration of only the first number (which is \1 in this case) and ignores the rest. I want to know if I missed something or if there is another way to do it. Thank you ! • How do I remove a printer connection without the user's intervention?

  Here's the situation: We're replacing 11 printers with newer models, and we'll be installing them on our print server and sharing them out. The plan is to share the new printers under different names than the ones they're replacing, and un-share the old ones. So I need to come up with a way to remove the client connections to old printers automatically. Clients are mostly Windows 7 with a few XP. My first idea was to call prnmngr.vbs from the login script to remove each old printer explicitly by name. The problem is that some users don't log out when they're done for the day, so I can't count on their login script running before they next need to print. I could remotely run prnmngr.vbs using SCCM, but if it's not 'impersonating' the user, I don't think it will remove their printers. Any ideas? Could I lookup how to access WMI using c# code and write a "trojan" to remove specific printers without requiring the user to do anything? (I'm only half joking). I'm open to any suggestion! Thanks!

• My server is taking too long to respond when I connect to it outside the local network [closed]

  I have my local server online most of the time because it is easy for clients to access a url and see how their project is coming along. They can see updates in real time. However, I got a message from one of my clients saying that the server was not responding. I have a hosts file, and in that file I have my server's address pointed to the local ip. This is because some problem with the ftp. Due to this setup, I had not noticed that the server was not accessible from outside the local network. The address is http://imbuzu.dyndns.info SSH works fine, I can connect from my windows machine to the server, but HTTP does not. The server is taking too long to respond. Looking at the logs, I see that the last incoming connection to the server from outside the network is this: 77.242.153.180 - - [04/Dec/2012:12:11:01 -0800] "\xce\x89\x8d\x85b\ro" 400 317 "-" "-" I'm going to restart the server, but I doubt that will have any effect on it. --EDIT-- I restarted the server, and it did not help. Also, I pinged the server and it seems to be resolving correctly.

• What are the ways to build a failover cluster?

  I have a task where I need to build a failover cluster in two cases: first with servers on Red Hat Enterprise 5.1 and second with SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP1. Both cases have SAN. I know there are many ways to build failover cluster, but I can’t find out more, so I need next: The ways to build it? I know only virtualization. Any good book or resource to broad my mind? I’ll be glad to hear any suggestion. Thanks! EDIT #1: failover of servers with bussiness application on it. EDIT #2: will be great to hear summary about solutions with SLES servers? EDIT #3: So if I understand correctly, in my cases the main ways are to use internal solutions or virtualization. So now I have additional questions: Does manufacturer of blades provide some solution? For example HP or IBM. (Without virtualization) Do I need additional server to control "heartbeat" between main and redundant servers? (Virtualization) For example I have several physical servers with VMs. Do I need additional server to control availability of VMs and to move VMs to another physical server in the case their physical server failure? Sorry for my poor English. EDIT #4: Failover of VM or OS on physical server. In both cases will be used SAN , it's not specified, but I think with file system image on it. I started to think that my question is stupid and I need to remake it.

• WebSphere hung threads, how can I track then down?

  We have an application running on WebSphere (unfortunately it is 6.1 which is no longer supported, it has not yet been migrated in production to a later version) which becomes entirely unresponsive because of hung threads. As far as I can tell we entirely exhaust one of the thread pools. I have activated hung thread detection and I get a core/thread dump when hung threads are detected. The server can run for several days without problems but has crashed twice this week. When load the core/thread dump in "IBM Thread and Monitor Dump Analyzer for Java", it tells me that there are a certain number of hung threads (this time it was 2, last time 11) and multiple (usually around 40) threads "waiting on condition" and some running threads. I believe one of the thread pool has around that size (50). Now what I see in there are threads waiting for locks, having locks or in wait. Most of them show a stack track which always ends like this: at java/lang/Object.wait(Native Method) at java/lang/Object.wait(Object.java:231) Now, how can I track this down to either a server configuration problem, application issue, WebSphere problem or something else? How is this supposed to help me track down the problem when almost everything in there refers to IBM code? I cannot ask IBM's help as 6.1 is now an unsupported version of WebSphere and while work has been done to make it work under WebSphere 7 we are not yet ready to switch to it in Production yet.

• Make eix available version match emerge

  We have out Gentoo hosts using a binhost with EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS="--getbinpkgonly --usepkgonly" in the make.conf file so that the host only pulled down the binary hosts. All works well from that side. I use eix to check on software versions for upgrades but have hit a problem where eix will see an available version ahead of what is available on the binserver. • Wireless connection silently dies randomly

  I have two WAP4410N wireless access points powered using Power-Over-Ethernet. They are both connected to the same LAN and broadcasting the same SSID with a WPA2 password. One is using channel 1, while the other is using channel 11. There is coverage overlap where the signal from both access points hover around -75db to -85db while standing in the same physical location. DHCP is disabled, and is being provided by another network device. Every day or so, devices can connect and authenticate to the access points, but are not granted an IP address (and subsequently are unable access to the LAN or Internet). For devices that had already retrieved an IP address prior to the issue exhibiting itself, the devices simply stop communicating with LAN and Internet. However, I can still access each access point's web admin interface from the LAN. If I reboot both devices, the problem vanishes and devices are once again able to get an IP address and connect to the LAN and Internet. Are these symptoms of signal interference between the two WAPs or is this a completely different issue?

• Silverlight Recruiting Application Part 6 - Adding an Interview Scheduling Module/View

  Between the last post and this one I went ahead and carried the ideas for the Jobs module and view into the Applicants module and view- they're both doing more or less the same thing, except with different objects being at their core.  Made for an easy cut-and-paste operation with a few items being switched from one to another.  Now that we have the ability to add postings and applicants, wouldn't it be nice if we could schedule an interview?  Of course it would! Scheduling Module I think you get the drift from previous posts that these project structures start looking somewhat similar.  The interview scheduling module is no different than the rest- it gets a SchedulingModule.cs file at the root that inherits from IModule, and there is a single SchedulerView.xsml and SchedulerViewModel.cs setup for our V+VM.  We have one unique concern as we enter into this- RadScheduler deals with AppointmentsSource, not ItemsSource, so there are some special considerations to take into account when planning this module. 204.    } 205.   206.    #endregion 207.} Nice... right? :) One really important thing to note as well.  See on line 51 where I set the DataContext before the Loaded event?  This is super important, as if you don't have this set before the usercontrol is loaded, the DataContextProxy has no context to use and your EditAppointmentDialog Job/Applicant dropdowns will be blank and empty.  Trust me on this, took a little bit of debugging to figure out that by setting the DataContext post-loaded would only lead to disaster and frustration.  Otherwise, the only other real difference is that instead of sending an ActionHistory item through an event to get added to the database and saved, I do those right in the callback from submitting.  The Result Again, I only have to post one picture because these bad boys used nearly identical code for both the MVVM and the code-behind views, so our end result is... So what have we learned here today?  One, for the most part this MVVM thing is somewhat easy.  Yeah, you sometimes have to write a bunch of extra code, but with the help of a few useful snippits you can turn the process into a pretty streamlined little workflow.  Heck, this story gets even easier as you can see in this blog post by Michael Washington- specifically run a find on 'InvokeCommandAction' and you'll see the section regarding the command on TreeView in Blend 4.  Brilliant!  MVVM never looked so sweet! • Silverlight Recruiting Application Part 6 - Adding an Interview Scheduling Module/View

  Between the last post and this one I went ahead and carried the ideas for the Jobs module and view into the Applicants module and view- they're both doing more or less the same thing, except with different objects being at their core.  Made for an easy cut-and-paste operation with a few items being switched from one to another.  Now that we have the ability to add postings and applicants, wouldn't it be nice if we could schedule an interview?  Of course it would! Scheduling Module I think you get the drift from previous posts that these project structures start looking somewhat similar.  The interview scheduling module is no different than the rest- it gets a SchedulingModule.cs file at the root that inherits from IModule, and there is a single SchedulerView.xsml and SchedulerViewModel.cs setup for our V+VM.  We have one unique concern as we enter into this- RadScheduler deals with AppointmentsSource, not ItemsSource, so there are some special considerations to take into account when planning this module. since there are some very complex things going on in that control.  I've gone ahead and trimmed down the template parts I don't need as much as possible, so what is left is all that is relevant to the 201.        entityInterview.PostingID = appointmentInterview.PostingID; 202.    } 203.   204.    #endregion 205.} One thing we're doing here which you won't see in any of the other ViewModels is creating a duplicate collection.  I know this is something which will be fixed down the line for using RadScheduler, simplifying this process, but with WCF RIA changing as it does I wanted to ensure functionality would remain consistent as I continued development on this application.  So, I do a little bit of duplication, but for the greater good.  This all takes place starting on line 79, so for every entity that comes back we add it to the collection that is bound to RadScheduler.  Otherwise, the DelegateCommands that you see correspond directly to the events they are named after.  In each case, rather than sending over the full event arguments, I just send in the appointment in question (coming through as the object obj in all cases) so I can add (line 91), edit (line 119), and delete appointments (line 142) like normal.  This just ensures they get updated back to my database.  Also, the one bit of code you won't see is for the Appointment Creating (line 110) event- that is because in the command I've created I simply make the replacement I need to: 1.void element_AppointmentCreating(object sender, AppointmentCreatingEventArgs e) 2.{ 3.    e.NewAppointment = new InterviewAppointment(); 4.    base.ExecuteCommand(); 5.} And the ViewModel is none the wiser, the appointments just work as far as it is concerned since as they are created they become InterviewAppointments.  End result?  I've customized my EditAppointmentDialog as follows: And adding, editing, and deleting appointments works like a charm.  I can even 'edit' by moving appointments around RadScheduler, so as they are dropped into a timeslot they perform their full edit routine and things get updated. 204.    } 205.   206.    #endregion 207.} Nice... right? :) One really important thing to note as well.  See on line 51 where I set the DataContext before the Loaded event?  This is super important, as if you don't have this set before the usercontrol is loaded, the DataContextProxy has no context to use and your EditAppointmentDialog Job/Applicant dropdowns will be blank and empty.  Trust me on this, took a little bit of debugging to figure out that by setting the DataContext post-loaded would only lead to disaster and frustration.  Otherwise, the only other real difference is that instead of sending an ActionHistory item through an event to get added to the database and saved, I do those right in the callback from submitting.  The Result Again, I only have to post one picture because these bad boys used nearly identical code for both the MVVM and the code-behind views, so our end result is... So what have we learned here today?  One, for the most part this MVVM thing is somewhat easy.  Yeah, you sometimes have to write a bunch of extra code, but with the help of a few useful snippits you can turn the process into a pretty streamlined little workflow.  Heck, this story gets even easier as you can see in this blog post by Michael Washington- specifically run a find on 'InvokeCommandAction' and you'll see the section regarding the command on TreeView in Blend 4.  Brilliant!  MVVM never looked so sweet! • Implementation of ZipCrypto / Zip 2.0 encryption in java

  I'm trying o implement the zipcrypto / zip 2.0 encryption algoritm to deal with encrypted zip files as discussed in http://www.pkware.com/documents/casestudies/APPNOTE.TXT I believe I've followed the specs but just can't seem to get it working. I'm fairly sure the issue has to do with my interpretation of the crc algorithm. The documentation states CRC-32: (4 bytes) The CRC-32 algorithm was generously contributed by David Schwaderer and can be found in his excellent book "C Programmers Guide to NetBIOS" published by Howard W. Sams & Co. Inc. The 'magic number' for the CRC is 0xdebb20e3. The proper CRC pre and post conditioning is used, meaning that the CRC register is pre-conditioned with all ones (a starting value of 0xffffffff) and the value is post-conditioned by taking the one's complement of the CRC residual. • Popping UIView crashes app

  I'm basically pushing a UIView from a UITableViewController and all it contains is a UIWebView. • how to debug "deep" crashes in Android?

  Hi All, I've been trying to debug an android crash that is occurring without a Java Stack Trace... Java Stack Trace bugs are very easy for me to fix... but this bug I'm getting seems to be crashing inside the "NDK" or whatever it is the deep internals of Android are called... I've made no modifications to the NDK btw... I just dunno what else to call that layer hehe. Anyway I'm mainly looking for advice on deep-debug methods, rather than help with this specific problem... because I doubt I can post all the source code involved... so really I just need to know how to set breakpoints at the deep layers or whatever other methods there are to trace deep-crashes to their source... so I will briefly describe the bug and then post a LogCat. I have an app with 7 Activities Activity_INTRO Activity_EULA Activity_MAIN Activity_Contact Activity_News Activity_Library Activity_More INTRO is the initiating one... it fades in some company logos... after displaying them for a set time it jumps to the EULA activity... after the user accepts the EULA, it jumps to MAIN... MAIN then creates a TabHost and populates it with the 4 remaining activities now heres the thing... when I click on say, the More tab of the TabHost, the app pauses for a few seconds and then hard-crashes... no java stack trace, but an actual ASM level trace with the registers and IP and stack... the same thing occurs no matter which tab I select, Contact, News, Library, More... all of them crash with the same hard-crash if however I set the manifest to start the app at Activity_MAIN, bypassing the INTRO and EULA, then these crashes do not occur... so something is lingering from those opening activities that is somehow hosing the TabHost'ed Activities... and I'm wondering what the hell that could be... because I'm using finish() on those activites when they need to jump... in fact here is how I'm doing it let me know if you see any bugs: when jumping from INTRO to EULA I do: //Display the EULA Intent newIntent = new Intent (avi, Activity_EULA.class); • Backbone.js Adding Model to Collection Issue

  I am building a test application in Backbone.js (my first app using Backbone). The app goes like this: Load Data from server "Plans" Build list of plans and show to screen There is a button to add a new plan Once new plan is added, add to collection ( do not save to server as of now ) redirect to index page and show the new collection ( includes the plan you just added) My issue is with item 5. When I save a plan, I add the model to the collection then redirect to the initial view. At this point, I fetch data from the server. When I fetch data from the server, this overwrites my collection and my added model is gone. How can I prevent this from happening? I have found a way to do this but it is definitely not the correct way at all. Below you will find my code examples for this. Thanks for the help. • Memory limit for running external executables within Asp.net

  I am using WkhtmltoPdf in my C# web application running in .NET 4.0 to generate PDFs from HTML files. In general everything works fine except when the size of the HTML file is below 250KB. Once the HTML file size increases beyond that, the process which runs the wkhtmltopdf.exe gives an exception as below. On the Task Manager, I have seen that the Memory value for the wkhtmltopdf.exe process does not increase beyond a value of 40,096 K, which I believe is the reason why the process is abandoned in between. How can we configure such that the memory limit for external exes can be increased? Is there any other way of solving this issue? More info: When I run the conversion from the command line directly, the PDF is generated fine. So, its unlikely to be a problem with WkhtmlToPdf. The error is from localhost. I have tried the same on the DEV server, with the same result. • iOS TableView crash loading different data

  Hi to all! I'm developing a simple iOS app where there is a table view with some categories (CategoryViewController). When clicking one of this category the view will be passed to a RecipesListController with another table view with recipes. This recipes are loaded from different plist based on the category clicked. The first time I click on a category, the recipes list is loaded and shown correctely. If i back to the category list and click any of the category (also the same again) the app crash. And I don't know how. The viewWillAppear is ececuted correctely but after crash. Can you help me? If you need the entire project I can zip it for you. Ok?
