I've got two ms access .mdb files that I need to compare/merge. Any good tools out there for this? Any way to easily export both to ascii sql where I can use something like Beyond Compare?
I know there are third-party tools available but why must I go to another vendor for something as trivial as auto-formatting my SQL statements?
What prevents MS to provide a SQL formatting tool in SQL Server Management Studio? What's the catch?
And btw, is there a FREE tool available that would plug into SSMS?
I have taken the idea of "language maintenance" a niche that no one is paying attention to and created a company focused on live conversation with complimentary tools. Looking to create a web 2.0 style social network with an already clearly defined brand identity, design and plan. Already have assembled a team but am looking for a passionate programmer to take the technical lead and create a functional alpha and beta.

Is there a simple way to recursively find all files in a directory hierarchy, that do not end in a list of extensions? E.g. all files that are not *.dll or *.exe
UNIX/GNU find, powerful as it is, doesn't seem to have an exclude mode (or I'm missing it), and I've always found it hard to use regular expressions to find things that don't match a particular expression.
I'm in a Windows environment (using the GnuWin32 port of most GNU tools), so I'm equally open for Windows-only solutions.
I have a number of modules in CVS with different tags. How would I go about getting the name of the branch these tagged files exist on? I've tried checking out a file from the module using cvs co -r TAG and then doing cvs log but it appears to give me a list of all of the branches that the file exists on, rather than just a single branch name.
Also this needs to be an automated process, so I can't use web based tools like viewvc to gather this info.
Is there another way to develop applications for mobile phones running the Windows Operating System for example, the HTC HD2 Mobile Phone (which runs Windows 6.5), other than Windows Dev Tools?
What is the right/recommended way to develop against of PayPal platform:
Use the New PayPal SDK (https://www.x.com/developers/paypal/documentation-tools/paypal-sdk-index)
Use the legacy PayPal SDK (which is quite old right now)
Just send raw HTTPS requests following NVP protocol (in the end they are just REST-like API), and do not depend on any official API (just depend on the official NVP protocol description)
Which one is considered the right way to go?
Sometime back I used a windows tool to see what a process is doing. This tool allowed me to inspect functions exported from DLL. It also allowed me to change the values passed to a function on the fly.
I cannot recollect the name(not sure if that was free or commercial one). Could any one point to me solution that can do this?
(Tools like ProcessExplorer, ProcessMonitor helps a bit.. this was better)
Cheers,
Jayan
Hi guys,
I'm just having trouble with getting my emulator SD card work...
I created a new AVD device with a new SD card.
So how to put data onto it? I found the "correct" file to be mountet on Deamon tools, but is currupt or simply not readable...
It would be great if you have any idea :)
Has anyone used Php frameworks just like we have in Python(Django) and Java(Spring).
I want to use something which has end to end solutions. ORM tools, transaction mangement, logging etc.
I am not sure how Cake is?
But, I am looking something very similar to Django in Php.
Hi,
I am interested in writing unit tests for the SharePoint development work I am doing. Can anyone suggest practical approachs to implementing unit tests in MOSS?
Note that any third party tools have to be free (but not necessarily open-source); the company I work for will not pay for additional tooling. In particular, any alternatives to the Typemock Isolator for SharePoint would be appreciated.
Thanks, MagicAndi.
I am writing a game editor, and have a lot of different "tool" objects. They all inherit from BTool and have the same constructor.
I would like to dynamically populate a toolbox at runtime with buttons that correspond to these tools, and when clicked have them create an instance of that tool and set it as the current tool.
Is this possible, and if so will it be better/easier than creating those buttons by hand?
Hi!
Is it good when url to show and destroy are same? How it can be changed in RoR if i want continue use standard tools like script/generate scaffold ?

Hi,
I'm making a blog in PHP and I'd really like to have syntax highlighting on Haskell code.
Are there any tools for that out there?
I've found hscolour but I don't know if it's possible to integrate it in PHP.
I'm using CakePHP if that makes a difference.
Thanks.
Hi,
I would like create a very simple Paint application using MAF on WPF.
The Add Ins I would like to create are:
Main Image Processor - Shown the current paint
Tool Box - The user can select some types of drawings tools
Layers - The user can select the layers to display, delete layers and select on which layer to work on
the question is: How I can interact between the different Add-Ins without using the host?
Thanks,
Ronny
I'm used to press shift+F7 to switch between my code behind and the designer (which takes between 1 and 5 seconds to load) then I always have to click on View Xaml to modify my XAML code.
I don't find any shortcut in Tools/Options/Keyboard to go directly (from code behind to XAML code). How can I do that ?
I have a bunch of webservices that I need to write PHP clients for. Now I can manually write wrappers for each of the WSDL files but i wanted to see if there is a tool that can help me by generating the wrappers in PHP.
Any idea if there are any tools that do this?
Thanks
My old IDE HDD from my laptop recently crashed and now, I can only see it in the BIOS.
When I try to track it down using GParted or other tools, I can't seem to find it.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem?
Hi,
Searched through net, could't find a way to read/write file metadata using C or C++, however, there are tools available for this, and also there are API's in C# and Java to do this. But I want to do it from scratch in C or C++.
For example, read/write image metadata.
Have found out that there are three formats in which metadata is written to files. EXIF, IPTC and XMP.
Thanks.
I am creating a multilingual site that will need to support at minimum five different languages, including Korean and Chinese. The site language is ColdFusion, so Java is the native language. I want to make the site as easy as possible for the next programmer to update, and for third-party translators to use tools that will work easier for them than digging through a SQL database.
So far I have come across Resource Bundles, GNU's GetText, and TMX.
Which do you recommend and why?
It looks like there's lots of different sites/methods for doing this,
is there an official twitter share button?
like for facebook there's http://developers.facebook.com/tools.php?connect_wizard&wizard=stream_publish , which looks excellent
