  • Dictionary to Json object, "Expected expression"

    I'm trying to convert a dictionery into a json object, so that I can work with it in my front end. sortFields = <%= SchrodersHtmlHelper.ToJson(ViewData["SortInfo"])%>; However, I keep on getting "Expected expression" for this all the time and I'm clueless why. Could anyone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? Edit: The conversion works fine, but I still get this issue in the front end, causing the browser to complain about it.

  • What's the point of the javascript navigator.javaEnabled function?

    The navigator object has a javaEnabled function that indicates if the browser has javascript support. This seems to be a little odd: If JS is indeed enabled the function will return true, well obviously. If JS is disabled it will return <nothing since it is never run, javaScript is disabled. I must be missing something here, or is it really that useless this function?

If any user seen the movie and if goes to any other page or refresh(F5) and then come back on the animation page then animation should not play from start. I want to play it from another frame.     I'm aware of timing issues in Javascript, how its not exact/off by milliseconds etc, but I need something to at least attempt to do browser-based scheduling. I have experience in web development, for example HTML/AJAX/PHP/MySQL among similar technologies. However, I have never programmed my own back-end, or any kind of standalone program.     I want to write an emacs function that does the following - 1) Start a new shell named "abc". 2) Change the dir "/opt/abc" 3) In the dir run a shell command "python abc.py" I have written the following fucntion - (defun abc-server () (interactive) (shell-command "cd /opt/abc/") (shell-command "python abc.py")) The problem with the above - 1) It doesnt start a new shell 2) It doesnt change the dir. 3) When the cmd executes, it opens a browser window, which completely blocks any usage of emacs.

    I need a lightbox plugin that is styled similar to FancyBox but will allow me to add text to the same white background as the image. Lightweight because I don't want many features as it's going to be added to an already heavy JS page. Preferably without Ajax features as I'll be handling this myself. Therefore I'm ruling out the use of Thickbox, Fancybox and jQuery UI. Basically I want the plugin to be a currently supported light-box jQuery plug-in that handles all the cross browser styling issues which I can then customise.
