  • "SELECT DISTINCT" ignores different cases

    Hello, I have the problem, that MSSQL Server 2000 should select some distinct values from a table (the specific column is of the nvarchar type). There are the sometimes the same values, but with different cases, for example (pseudocode): SELECT DISTINCT * FROM ("A", "a", "b", "B") would return A,b But I do want (and do expect) A,a,b,B because they actually are different values. Any idea how to solve this problem? Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Mysql ADDDATE() or DATE_ADD() with table columns?

    How do I do something like the following SELECT ADDDATE(t_invoice.last_bill_date, INTERVAL t_invoice.interval t_invoice.interval_unit) FROM t_invoice ...where the column t_invoice.last_bill_date is a date, t_invoice.interval is an integer and t_invoice.interval_unit is a string. Basically, I want to determine a person's next bill date based on his desired billing frequency. Is there a better way to achieve this?

  • allignment issue of div tag

    I am trying to create a web page where on click of a button I can add div tags. What I thought to do was that I'll create two div tags within a single div so that over all presentation will be uniform and similar to a table having two columns and multiple rows and the first column contains only label's and second column will contain textbox. The timestamps however, are stored in a different table: Table A has column my_id Table B has columns my_id, timestamp I would want something like SELECT id, time FROM (SELECT my_id AS id FROM A) q1, (SELECT timestamp AS time FROM B WHERE my_id = id) q2 ; But how can I get the value of id within a different subquery? Is there an elegant solution for this problem?

The second time I press it, it does not fire. Third press, fires. Fourth press, does not fire. Etc. Originally I had it bound to a command but that was behaving the same way. (I put a Debug.WriteLine() in the event handler so I know when it fires.) Any ideas? It's really odd that the click event only fires every other time.

    Hi, I'm working on a database program and I noticed that when I'm doing queries with tables that have TEXT/BLOB columns, MySQL will use temp tables and use filesort. I'm not entirely sure when and how this happens, but are there cases where MySQL does not use filesort when there are BLOB/TEXT columns? Like if the sort column is type of VARCHAR() with an index?
