  • Online Flowchart Diagram Tool (run from private wiki)

    - by red.october
Hi, Is there some flowchart diagram tool that would (or could be made to) integrate with a self-hosted wiki? Requirements: basic functionality (e.g., drawing some boxes and some arrows) would strongly prefer it to be visual (i.e., not written out in text that then gets converted) it is important that it can be integrated into the wiki (e.g., as an extra panel somewhere) can be run from a personal server free I've looked around at other threads here concerning a diagram tool, but they are either desktop applications, online ones which reside on third-party servers, or cost money.

  • Developing Prolog on Linux

    - by Andrew Bolster
Dont know whether this belongs in SO or SF I am taking an AI course this semester and it requires fairly heavy use of Prolog. I've dealt with using the provided windows IDE under WINE on the laptop and within VM on the desktop. It all seems too awkward to me, so does anyone know what prolog linux IDE's are out there? (And how to set up prolog nativly under linux)

I want to migrate my existing desktop Windows .NET 3.5 app. that uses MySQL as backend to DB2 Express C. I downloaded IBM Migration Toolkit to migrate the database. I have further queries: How accurate is IBM Migration Toolkit? Are there any issues? For the application, just changing the connection string will do or something else?

  • What is the practical difference between transport and message reliability in WCF?

    - by mrlane
I am looking at differences between using WPF in .NET or using Silverlight 4 for the GUI front end of an app that connects to WCF services. I have read that net.tcp binding in Silverlight 4 only supports transport level reliability. With a WPF desktop app we can use message level reliability. What is the actual difference? If transport level reliability ensures that all TCP packets get through, doesnt that also mean that all WCF SOAP messages will also get through?

  • Java REPL onsole

    - by Don
Hi, I'm looking for a console that I can use to test out snippets of Java code. Either a desktop app, or a web app (like the Groovy web console). Ideally, the console should automatically import commonly used package like java.io.* java.util.* So that I can copy and paste code from a class without having to add a bunch of imports. Does such a thing exist? Thanks, Donal

  • StackOverflow Google Gadget [closed]

    - by AdamC
I created a very quick Google Desktop gadget to track a user's reputation on SO. It takes only a user's ID (user name won't work) and shows the current reputation and gives notifications (if enabled) on any changes. It occurred to me that it might be useful to others here both for tracking and if you wanted to know how to create a gadget. Download the gadget A few notes about creating it

  • Alternatives to Goolgle Earth for sat image

    - by Martin Beckett
I've been asked to add Google Earth images to a desktop app (civil engineering modelling app) I was under the impression that Google's license didn't allow you to do this. Are there any other easily accessible, and similarly high resolution, image sources anyone can recommend (Blue Marble, terraserver) ? As a bonus, any library that lets me use coordinates in a range of local map datums and convert them to Lat/Long without me having to incorporate the whole of CGAL?

  • Open source Mac video streaming server solutions?

    - by John Wright
In my application, I want to stream videos shot on an iPhone, *.movie files, from a server running on a Mac desktop to an iPhone or iPad client. What are some possible open source servers that do this that are small enough to be shipped or embedded with a downloadable Mac app? There is a product StreamToMe by Matt Gallagher that does this. I noticed a lot of open source alternatives like ffmpeg, VideoLan, and the like but I not sure which one would be good for the Mac.
