  • What is the correct terminology to describe a visual display that is about the size of a living room

    I'm thinking that, as flat screens get bigger and cheaper it won't be too long before 'digital wallpaper'-like screens become popular in people's living rooms with a host of applications that could take advantage of this particular screen size/resolution. Is there a proper name for this size of screen? 'Wall Screen' - is too ambiguous 'Massive Screen' - is probably best reserved for something you'd put on the side of a sky scraper 'Small Screen' - nabbed by the mobiles 'Large Screen' - kind of means desktop I'm thinking of the kind of screen used in 'Minority Report'.

I have the following instruction: Import ++++ certificate (in order to allow SSL connections) – it is done in Administrative Console for the corresponding WAS profile (Security-SSL certificate and key management-Key stores and certificates-NodeDefaultTrustStore-Signer certificates). Here you can simply add the attached trkd_cert.cer (“Add” button) or get it from port (“Retrieve from port” button, host: ++++.com, port 443) But this is valid for Websphere 6.1. Do somebody know how this can be done in WebSphere 5.1?

    I'm looking for an explanation of the different functionality in versions of a application called VMAC (Verix blah blah blah), also called "comm server", which is used on Verifone payment terminals. I've got terminals with versions 1.7 and 3.3 of VMAC, and I'm unaware of the differences. If someone is a Verifone expert, it would be helpful to know how much of the communication with the processing host vs the merchant services provider's application.

  • jquery element not defined, but it used to skip it...

    I recently transferred a site to a new host. Reloaded everything, and the javascript that worked fine before is breaking at an element it can't find. $('#emailForm') is not defined. Now, the #emailform isn't on the page, but it wasn't before either, and JS used to skip this and it would just work. Not sure why this is happening. Any clues?

    I have written a web app in PHP which makes use of Ajax requests (made using YUI.util.Connect.asyncRequest). Most of the time, this works fine. The request is sent with an X-Requested-With value of XMLHttpRequest. My PHP controller code uses apache_request_headers() to check whether an incoming request is Ajax or not and all works well. But not always. Intermittently, I'm getting a situation where the Ajax request is sent (and Firebug confirms for me that the headers on the request include an X-Requested-With of XMLHttpRequest) but apache_request_headers() is not returning that header in its list.     I have a large table (300 million lines) that I would like to dump to a csv - I need to do some processing that cannot be done with SQL. Right now I am using Squirrel as a client, and it does not apparently deal very well with large datasets - at least as far as I can tell from my own (limited) experience. If I run the query on the actual host, will it use less memory? Thanks for any help.

  • Casting between variant and bstr_t causing inconsisten crash in Windows 2008

    We have a C# application, calling a simple C++ wrapper class, that then calls an existing C++ DLL. The C++ code is all VC++ 6.0. We are getting inconsistent behaviour, but the crash, when it happens, always happens within the C++ wrapper DLL, and always in the same spot (have confirmed using painful logging statements). It never happens on any environment except on Windows 2008, so we suspect some bad-but-not-fatal memory trashing is going on that somehow Windows 2008 is being more mindful of. Here's the relevant code, if anyone has any ideas on why this might be crashing it would be much appreciated. We've been tearing our hair out for a few days and project timelines are slipping all for the want of being able to return a simple string back to C#...     Short of using static IP addresses, is it possible to have a Cisco ASA use a DNS name rather than an IP address? For instance, if I want to limit a host in the DMZ to access only one particular web service, but that web service might be globally load balanced or using DynDNS or cloud, how can the ACL be expressed so that a fixed IP address isn't used and the admin doesn't have to keep opening and closing down IP addresses?

    I'm giving a try at OpenCL, and in order to put this in production I'd like to be able to bind dynamically to OpenCL.DLL (when under Windows), in order to handle 'gracefully' the case where no OpenCL is installed on the host computer.     I can't reach a locally hosted domain, and in testing I have discovered I can't ping localhost or the actual IP either. OS is Windows7 64bit, Pro. DNS works, I can ping others on my network, they can ping me, and they can reach the hosted domain. The ONLY problem I have found is that I can't reach the locally hosted domains!
