• SEF URL Problem in Joomla1.5

  My joomla site url is: http://www.cessnatrader.com. I am using SEF URL for this site. The SEF URL is not working in the main menu(in top). But it is working fine for other places(other links, footer menu). I don't know what the problem is. I did all the things for enabling SEF URL in joomla. But it is not working in one place(main menu). What should I do? Note: I am using "Mosets tree" component in this site.

• ChoiceFormat.setChoices confusion about format parameter type and documentation

  From the java.text.ChoiceFormat API: setChoices(double[] limits, String[] formats): Set the choices to be used in formatting. Parameters: limits - contains [...] formats - are the formats you want to use for each limit. They can be either Format objects or Strings. When formatting with object Y, if the object is a NumberFormat, then ((NumberFormat) Y).format(X) is called. Otherwise Y.toString() is called. I'm having difficulties understanding the documentation for the formats parameter: how can you possibly pass a Format/NumberFormat object to setChoices if it's declared String[] formats? Note that interestingly, the getters counterpart of setChoices are declared as follows: double[] getLimits() Object[] getFormats() -- not String[]!!! Is this a bug in the API? Should the setter have been declared setChoices(double[], Object[]) instead, or am I not understanding how to use setChoices correctly?

  I have a select-string which is seaching an IIS log for a particular string and returning the 2 lines above and one line below. I am trying to do a -replace on the to replace it with < font color="red"$1< /font but my replace doesn't seem to work. • Security sandbox violation when connecting to Socket from flex

  Hi, I am using a Socket (not xmlSocket) connection between flex applications and the server pushing messages. Now, when I connect from the local machine to the server everything is working file and running, connection is succesful and I get data back and forth. When I upload the application (flex) to the server and run it from there, I get a security sandBox violation message. Note: 1. I do have a crossdomain file with * wildcard both on port and on domain. 2. I created a Securiy.allowDomain("*") as well. Another thing. I also created another listener on that same server, listening to connections for port 843 (default) and this service just waited for a connection send policy file to the client and that's it. That did not solve the problem as well... That's next? What should I do to fix the problem? Appreciate your help. Avi

• Mysql - multiple values and between

  Hey, I need to select 10 products and display them. Each product has 3 different prices. The select to get the prices looks like this: SELECT * FROM products_loans WHERE CODE IN('10X15/12', '10X15/Q10-10', '10X15/Q20-10') AND 550 BETWEEN PRICE_FROM AND PRICE_TO; Where 550 is the base price. Now this select returns 3 rows, but I want to modify it so it will return 30 results. I dont like the idea to execute 10 queries at once. I know I can easily achieve that with "OR", but I would like to ask if there is some other more elegant way to this. The select "should" look like this: SELECT * FROM products_loans WHERE KOD IN('10X15/12', '10X15/Q10-10', '10X15/Q20-10') AND (550, 325, 780) BETWEEN CENA_OD AND CENA_DO; Note that there is no "price" column or anything in the table which I could use to do a JOIN and I cant modify the table.

• FF3/Windows CSS z-index problem with YouTube player

  I'm stuck on what appears to be a CSS/z-index conflict with the YouTube player. In Firefox 3 under Windows XP, Take a look at this page: http://spokenword.org/program/21396 Click on the Collect button and note that the pop-up <div appears under the YouTube player. On other browsers the <div appears on top. It has a z-index value of 999999. I've tried setting the z-index of the <object element containing the player to a lower value, but that didn't work. Any idea how to get the pop-up to appear over the player?

• (Visual) C++ project dependency analysis

  I have a few large projects I am working on in my new place of work, which have a complicated set of statically linked library dependencies between them. The libs number around 40-50 and it's really hard to determine what the structure was initially meant to be, there isn't clear documentation on the full dependency map. What tools would anyone recommend to extract such data? Presumably, in the simplest manner, if did the following: define the set of paths which correspond to library units set all .cpp/.h files within those to belong to those compilation units capture the 1st order #include dependency tree One would have enough information to compose a map - refactor - and recompose the map, until one has created some order. I note that http://www.ndepend.com have something nice but that's exclusively .NET unfortunately. I read something about Doxygen being able accomplish some static dependency analysis with configuration; has anyone ever pressed it into service to accomplish such a task?

• IE8 + Jquery ajax call giving parsererror from dJango : for json data which seems valid in Firefox

  The ajax call works fine in FF. the data returned is in JSON here is an example from FF firebug - {"noProfiles": "No profiles have been created, lets start now !"} When I try to print the error in IE8 (& in compatibility modes as well), it says "parsererror". But the output seems to be valid JSON. Here is the ajax function call I'm making. I'm seeking a 100% regex solution and no pre-manipulation of the input. • Scoping in embedded groovy scripts

  In my app, I use Groovy as a scripting language. To make things easier for my customers, I have a global scope where I define helper classes and constants. Currently, I need to run the script (which builds the global scope) every time a user script is executed: context = setupGroovy(); runScript( context, "global.groovy" ); // Can I avoid doing this step every time? runScript( context, "user.groovy" ); Is there a way to setup this global scope once and just tell the embedded script interpreter: "Look here if you can't find a variable"? That way, I could run the global script once. Note: Security is not an issue here but if you know a way to make sure the user can't modify the global scope, that's an additional plus.

• Please recommend good books for telemetry / SCADA system design & programming

  I am looking at several projects, all with roughly the same fucntionality. Some instruments collect some data (or control some functionality). They commmunicate by Internet (Etehrnet/wifi/GPRS/sasatellite) with a databse server which stores the measurements and provides a browser based means of qeurying the data, prodcuing reports, etc (and possibly also allows control of the remote equipment). Can anyone recommend a good book describing an approach to developing such a software architecture, keeping it generic, which tools, languages. test methods, etc to use? (note to self: ask a similar question about possible existing frameworks)

My requirement is additionally pass the registry path as parameter, so when a launch happens (note no change in the launch) iexplore <<"URL String" should translate into something like iexplore <<"URL String" "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command\" How should my registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command\ modified so as to get the extra registry path appended for all shell launches ? • JavaScript helper libraries? No DOM or AJAX stuff

  As I'm writing JavaScript I'm always missing some fairly basic language features that JavaScript just don't have. So is there any library that would bring such features as trim, sprintf, str.endwith and etc. functions to JavaScript ? I just have written those functions too many times and I'm also tired of copy/pasting them from my old code. It would be nice to have some library which has those implemented and tested in one place. Note that I'm not talking about Ajax/DOM-libraries like jQuery or Dojo and such. I know that those libraries bring some of the features that I'm talking here, but not all. And I would like to have also an environment independent library so that same library could be used with server side JavaScript . Best library so far that I've found is php.js, but I don't like how it is polluting the global namespace. I'm also not too fond of how PHP-functions are named.

  Recently I have noticed a number of questions on SO that look something like this: I am writing a small program to keep a list of the songs that I keep on my ipod. I'm thinking about writing it as a 3-tier MVC Ruby on Rails web application with TDD, DDD and IOC, using a factory pattern to create the classes and a singleton to store my application settings. Do you think I'm taking the right approach? Do you think that we're handing novice programmers a very sharp knife and telling them, "Don't cut yourself with this"? NOTE: Despite the humorous tone, this is a serious (and programming-related) question.

I want the script to be run each time a developer builds from Visual Studio on their local development machine, so that a) the build process they are runnning locally is the same as that run by the build server so any problems in the build can be identified immediately by the developer b) many of the operations of the build script are run on local builds, for example running of unit tests, generation of code coverage reports etc How is this possible in Visual Studio (2008)?   I have created one simple note taking application in jquery & php. Current functionality is like when user clicks save button it sends a ajax request with complete data to update it in db(mysql). All works well. But now I want to auto save only changed text while user typing. I don't want to send entire text to server again and again in text change event. It should send only text which has changed. For Ex: This is saved text. When user continues typing. This is saved text. Unsaved text.. It should be able to send only "Unsaved text.." to server to update in db. How can i implement this in jquery & server side script.? Any Idea..?

Look at the definition of NameStartChar: NameStartChar ::= ":" | [A-Z] | "_" | [a-z] | [#xC0-#xD6] | [#xD8-#xF6] | [#xF8-#x2FF] | [#x370-#x37D] | [#x37F-#x1FFF] | [#x200C-#x200D] | [#x2070-#x218F] | [#x2C00-#x2FEF] | [#x3001-#xD7FF] | [#xF900-#xFDCF] | [#xFDF0-#xFFFD] | [#x10000-#xEFFFF] If I interpret this correctly, the last range (#x10000-#xEFFFF) goes beyond the UTF16 range of Java's char type. So it must be UTF32, right? So, I need to check pairs of char against this range, instead of single chars, right? My questions are: How do I check for such character ranges using standard Java methods? How is it possible to define such ranges in JavaCC? JavaCC complains about \u10000 and \uEFFFF Thank you! NOTE: Don't worry, I am not trying to write an own XML-parser. I need those character ranges for other reasons.

• How do I detect whether a browser supports mouseover events?

  Let's assume I have a web page which has some onmouseover javascript behaviour to drop down a menu (or something similar) Obviously, this isn't going to work on a touch device like the iPad or smartphones. How can I detect whether the browser supports hover events like onmouseover or onmouseout and the :hover pseudotag in CSS? Note: I know that if I'm concerned about this I should write it a different way, but I'm curious as to whether detection can be done. Edit: When I say, "supports hover events", I really mean, "does the browser have a meaningful representation of hover events". If the hardware supports it but the software doesn't (or vice versa), there's no meaningful representation. With the exception of some upcoming tech, I don't think any touch devices have a meaningful representation of a hover event.

  I often find myself wanting to collapse an n-dimensional matrix across one dimension, and can't figure out if there is a concise incantation I can use to do this. For example, when parsing an image, I often want to do something like this. (Note! Illustrative example only. I know about rgb2gray for this specific case.) img = imread('whatever.jpg'); s = size(img); for i=1:s(1) for j=1:s(2) bw_img = mean(img(i,j,:)); end end I would love to express this as something like: bw = on(color, 3, @mean); or bw(:,:,1) = mean(color); Is there a short way to do this?

• Hibernate object equality checking

  As far as I understand(correct me if I am wrong) Hibernate uses object reference to check the object equality. When Hibernate identifies that there are more than one objects attached to same DB record, it throws following exception. "a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session" My question is, does Hibernate use equal() method to check the object equality (The default equal method uses object reference)? If it is true, will overridden equal() method change the Hibernate behavior? Note: My question is not about the issues of implementing equal() or hashCode() methods in a Hibernate persisted object. • Why does jquery button take a second to refresh after updating a page using ajax

  when i refresh a part of a webpage that has a jquery ui button, it seems like I have to call: $(":button").button(); again or it shows up as a regular button. Thats fine but when i do this, it still shows up as a regular button for a split second before converting to the styling of the jquery theme. is there anyway to avoid this as it looks a bit messy. NOTE: i noticed that this is for anything that i am theming using jquery ui like autocomplete, button, etc. so its not button specific issue.

• What performance indicators can I use to convince management that I need my development PC upgraded?

  At work, my PC is slow. I feel that I can be way more productive if I just wasn't waiting for Visual Studio and everything else to respond. My PC isn't bad (dual-core, 3GB of RAM), but there is a lot of corporate software and whatnot to slow everything down and sometimes lock it up. Now, some developers have begun getting Windows 7 machines with 8 GB of RAM. Of course, I start salivating at this. However, I was told that I "had to justify" why I should get a new machine. I can think of a lot of different things, but I am curious as to what every one else on SO would have to say. NOTE: Ideally, these reasons should be specifically related to .NET development in Visual Studio on a Windows machine. This isn't a "how can I make my machine faster" question.

• php, get an end date based on start date and number of months

  Hi! I need to calculate an end date based on todays date and a number of months. For example, todays date 04/01/2010 and the number of months is 6. Are there any functions I can use to do some math that would return "10/01/2010"? Also, I think it's important to note that I am storing the result in MySQL as a "DATETIME" so I guess I would have to do something with the time as well... ??? Thanks!
