  • How can I make my livebox route to my external IP address for a computer in the DMZ?

    I have a sagem livebox 2 (Fiber optic model), and have placed my computer in a DMZ. People from outside of my network can access my comp fine via its external dyndns.org address, yet when I try to call the public dyndns.org address from inside my network, I get redirected to the internal admin site on the router. How can I make it so that I can see my comp from the public address like everyone else? What kinds of questions should I be asking or looking into? Thanks

    Ok, for the last few days I have been attempting to find a method to pull a very important set of information form a table that contains what I call daily counts. I have a table that is setup as follows. person|company|prod1|prod2|prod3|gen_date Each company has more then one person, and each person can have different combination of products that they have purchased. What I have been trying to figure out is a SQL statement that will list the number of people that have bought a particular product per company. So an output similar to this: Comp ABC | 13 Prod1 | 3 Prod2 | 5 Prod 3 Comp DEF | 2 Prod1 | 15 Prod2 | 0 Prod 3 Comp HIJ | 0 Prod1 | 0 Prod2 | 7 Prod 3 Currently if a person did not select a product the value being stored is NULL. Best I have right now is 3 different statements that can produce this information if run on there own. SELECT Count(person) as puchases, company FROM Sales WHERE prod1 = '1' and gendate = '3/24/2010' Group BY company

ORIGINAL QUESTION I have two executable files I downloaded and am trying to add to the path. They are located in /home/user/folder and the specific files are /home/user/folder/app1 /home/user/folder/app2 Both app1 and app2 have the executable flag set to all (user, group, other). I can execute the files if I am in /home/user/folder and I execute these commands ./app1 ./app2 However I can't run them from elsewhere. I added this line to my .profile PATH="$PATH:/home/user/folder" and then sourced the path with . /home/user/.profile and I can see app1 and app2 when I use command completion (pressing tab). However here is what happens when I try to run app1 or app2 with the following commands (the following only shows 'app1' but the same is true of 'app2') user@comp:~$ app1 -bash: app1: command not found user@comp:~$ /home/user/folder/app1 -bash: app1: command not found user@comp:~/folder$ ./app1 (program runs) I'm stumped :), I must have missed something simple.     I was going thru a video (from coursera - by sedgewick) in which he argues that you cannot sustain Moore's law using a quadratic algorithm.He elaborates like this In year 197* you build a computer of power X ,and need to count N objects.This takes M days According to Moore's law,you have a computer of power 2X after 1.5 years.But now you have 2N objects to count. If you use a quadratic algorithm, In year 197*+1.5 ,it takes (4M)/2 = 2M days 4M because the algorithm is quadratic,and division by 2 because of doubling computer power. I find this hard to understand.I tried to work thru this as below To count N objects using comp=X , it takes M days. -> N/X = M After 1.5 yrs ,you need to count 2N objects using comp=2X -> 2N/(2X) -> N/X -> M days where do I go wrong? can someone please help me understand?

  • Ubuntu chroot “No such file or directory”

    Hi there. I hace a web application where I create some folders on my server and put executables there. Then I try to wun them with chroot but I get a message that access is denied there. I tried chroot -r 777 blah blah.... and then I get a message that the folder or the file that I call (sudo chroot mydirectory myfile_inside_Mydirectory) does not exist. This happens only when I call chroot on folders created by the web server. My web application is in php and I use: shell_exec("cp -R /var/www/comp/prison/bin $dir"); shell_exec("cp -R /var/www/comp/prison/lib $dir"); shell_exec("cp /var/www/janitor.out $dir/janitor.out"); shell_exec("sudo chmod -R 777 $dir"); $process = proc_open("sudo chroot $dir janitor.out", $descriptorspec, $pipes); sudo does not need password.

    there is only the wired connection option available when the menu drops down. i have installed a belkin wireless g card for my desktop. it has been used before on this version of ubuntu 10.10, but after upgrading it shows only wired networks. enable networking and enable notifications have both been ticked. still only wired networks coming. im using ubuntu 10.10 maverick meerkat on my desktop comp and im an absolute begginer at ubuntu. can some one please help me re enable wireless on my comp?

Eps has a data type of double.     I have question about strange behavior of my openVPN configuration on Debian lenny. I have 2 server configs (one proto tcp-server based and one proto udp based). ISP bandwidth is 7Mbit/7Mbit. When I uses proto tcp-server my download server rate is fine around 6,4 Mbit/s, but upload rate is about 3Mbit/s. When I uses proto udp, my download server rate is around 3Mbit/s and upload rate around 6,4Mbit/s. I tried to handle the MTU, MSSFIX and cipher on/off on server and client configs to synchronize rates, but without solution.   • award phoenix bios not recognizing my sata hdd.

    What am I doing wrong? I have a custom built comp with a Fatal1ty AA8XE mobo. It has 4 SATA ports and one IDE port. When i first got it, I had a really hard time putting in more than one hard drive. Right now i have one 120gb IDE HDD on master and my DVD+-RW on slave connected to the one IDE spot on the mobo. I ripped a bunch of movies and filled up my HDD, so I got a WD 80gb SATA drive. I plugged it into SATA1 and hooked up the power, turned on comp, went into bios. The only thing in any option in any of the menues in this crazy lookin bios is a thing that says "SATA mode". i put it on IDE, set it so PATA is primary, SATA is secondary. booted up my comp, nothin. Not recognizing the SATA. I went back into the bios and checked it all again. I saw that it says SATA2 and SATA4 are the secondaries so i put it on SATA2, booted, nothing, same with SATA4, same with SATA3, all same as SATA1. Bios and wt os are not recognizing the drive as being there at all. I even downloaded and printed the almost 100 page manual for the mobo, read the entire thing, and still can't figure it out. I know there are a lot of people out there smarter than me when it comes to computers. So please, somebody, anybody, please tell me something that I'm not seeing. Some setting somewhere that I didn't configure right. There is something, obviously, but I can't find it. As far as i can tell, everything is set perfectly fine for my 120gb to be the master and the SATA to be the slave. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm seriously about to throw this computer out the window. thankyou in advance to whoever attempts to help.

    I have a custom circle component in my application, which is divided into 3 sectors as of now.Can we uniquely identify each segments of this circle? I want to drag and drop text or images from another container to this circle component. But I want to place different images in the different sectors. Is it possible to distinguish the individual sectors of the circle component? When the query results are displayed in the datagridview, these bit columns are returned as of ColumnType Textbox - so i get a Datagridview textbox column with true or false string values. I want to display Completed and Taken as Checkbox columns (either ticked for True or un-ticked for false) but ofcourse i can't do this in EditColumn dialogue because the Datagridview is unbound. how can i change this in code at runtime

Some examples of the source filenames are: alpha--sometext.381928 comp--moretext.7294058 The resultant files would be renamed as: alpha.sometext.381928 comp.moretext.7294058 The number of characters before and after the -- is not consistant. The script needs to work on current installations of Ubuntu and FreeBSD. These are lean LAMP servers so only the necessary packages have been installed. Thanks

    I have text files formatted as such: R156484COMP_004A7001_20100104_065119.txt I need to consistently extract the R****COMP, the 004A7001 number, 20100104 (date), and don't care about the 065119 number. the problem is that not ALL of the files being parsed have the exact naming convention. some may be like this: R168166CRIT_156B2075_SU2_20091223_123456.txt or R285476COMP_SU1_125A6025_20100407_123456.txt So how could I use regex instead of split to ensure I am always getting that serial (ex. 004A7001), the date (ex. 20100104), and the R****COMP (or CRIT)???
