  • Is there a limit setting a php_admin_value in php-fpm?

    - by PeeHaa
I am trying to set a large value in the configuration of a pool in php-fpm, but at some point it just doesn't start anymore. php_admin_value[disable_functions] = dl,exec,passthru,shell_exec,system,proc_open,popen,curl_exec,curl_multi_exec,parse_ini_file,show_source,pcntl_exec,include,include_once,require,require_once,posix_mkfifo,posix_getlogin,posix_ttyname,getenv,get_current_use,proc_get_status,get_cfg_va,disk_free_space,disk_total_space,diskfreespace,getcwd,getlastmo,getmygid,getmyinode,getmypid,getmyuid,ini_set,mail,proc_nice,proc_terminate,proc_close,pfsockopen,fsockopen,apache_child_terminate,posix_kill,posix_mkfifo,posix_setpgid,posix_setsid,posix_setuid,fopen,tmpfile,bzopen,gzopen,chgrp,chmod,chown,copy,file_put_contents,lchgrp,lchown,link,mkdi,move_uploaded_file,rename,rmdi,symlink,tempnam,touch,unlink,iptcembed,ftp_get,ftp_nb_get,file_exists,file_get_contents,file,fileatime,filectime,filegroup,fileinode,filemtime,fileowne,fileperms,filesize,filetype,glob,is_di,is_executable,is_file,is_link,is_readable,is_uploaded_file,is_writable,is_writeable,linkinfo,lstat,parse_ini_file,pathinfo,readfile,readlink,realpath,stat,gzfile,create_function When trying to restart php-fpm it fails with the following message: Stopping php-fpm: [ OK ] Starting php-fpm: [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: [/etc/php-fpm.d/codepad.conf:235] value is NULL for a ZEND_INI_PARSER_ENTRY [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: Unable to include /etc/php-fpm.d/codepad.conf from /etc/php-fpm.conf at line 235 [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: failed to load configuration file '/etc/php-fpm.conf' [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: FPM initialization failed [FAILED] When I remove the last disabled function (create_function) it start again. I also tried with other functions, but this gives the same error so it's not related to the create_function function. The string currently is just over 1KB in size so it looks like I have hit a limit here? Is my assumption correct? Is there a way to overcome this limit? I also tried to add another php_admin_value[disable_functions] underneath it (hoping it would be appended), but that didn't work (it just used the first one).

  • Nginx php-fpm high cpu usage

    - by Piotr Kaluza
I have a problem with a high traffic wordpress, super high CPU load under nginx php-fpm, I am caching with apc, and memcached, spent 2-3 days tweaking configs and looking for answers it seems to me that php-fpm takes up all the cpu available no matter how many max_children i set if i set 5 then the load is 20% each, if i set 20 then the load adds up till 90% i tried static and dynamic server is 2x3.0Ghz 6GB Ram SSD in raid 10 on ubuntu 12.04 x64 utpime: 17:27:51 up 2:19, 1 user, load average: 29.79, 28.08, 26.29 what can be the issue?

  • Nginx + php5-fpm = "File not found"

    - by MatW
I've hit a wall whilst setting up a site using nginx / fpm. The page displays "File not found", and this appears in the nginx error.log: FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream I'm new to both nginx and fpm, and that error message means nothing to me (even the google machine hasn't helped!). Can anyone shed any light onto what could be happening?

  • Nginx + PHP-FPM executes script, but returns 404

    - by MorfiusX
    I am using Nginx + PHP-FPM to run a Wordpress based site. I have a URL that should return dynamically generated JSON data for use with the DataTables jQuery plugin. The data is returned properly, but with a return code of 404. I think this is a Nginx config issue, but I haven't been able to figure out why. The script 'getTable.php' works properly on the production version of the site which is currently using Apache. Anyone know how I can get this to work on Nginx? URL: http://dev.iloveskydiving.org/wp-content/plugins/ils-workflow/lib/getTable.php SERVER: CentOS 6 + Varnish (caching disabled for development) + Nginx + PHP-FPM + Wordpress + W3 Total Cache Nginx Config: server { # Server Parameters listen 127.0.0.1:8082; server_name dev.iloveskydiving.org; root /var/www/dev.iloveskydiving.org/html; access_log /var/www/dev.iloveskydiving.org/logs/access.log main; error_log /var/www/dev.iloveskydiving.org/logs/error.log error; index index.php; # Rewrite minified CSS and JS files location ~* \.(css|js) { if (!-f $request_filename) { rewrite ^/wp-content/w3tc/min/(.+\.(css|js))$ /wp-content/w3tc/min/index.php?file=$1 last; expires max; } } # Set a variable to work around the lack of nested conditionals set $cache_uri $request_uri; # Don't cache uris containing the following segments if ($request_uri ~* "(\/wp-admin\/|\/xmlrpc.php|\/wp-(app|cron|login|register|mail)\.php|wp-.*\.php|index\.php|wp\-comments\-popup\.php|wp\-links\-opml\.php|wp\-locations\.php)") { set $cache_uri "no cache"; } # Don't use the cache for logged in users or recent commenters if ($http_cookie ~* "comment_author|wordpress_[a-f0-9]+|wp\-postpass|wordpress_logged_in") { set $cache_uri 'no cache'; } # Use cached or actual file if they exists, otherwise pass request to WordPress location / { try_files /wp-content/w3tc/pgcache/$cache_uri/_index.html $uri $uri/ /index.php?q=$uri&$args; } # Cache static files for as long as possible location ~* \.(xml|ogg|ogv|svg|svgz|eot|otf|woff|mp4|ttf|css|rss|atom|js|jpg|jpeg|gif|png|ico|zip|tgz|gz|rar|bz2|doc|xls|exe|ppt|tar|mid|midi|wav|bmp|rtf)$ { try_files $uri =404; expires max; access_log off; } # Deny access to hidden files location ~* /\.ht { deny all; access_log off; log_not_found off; } location ~ \.php$ { try_files $uri =404; fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(/.+)$; include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_intercept_errors on; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/lib/php-fpm/php-fpm.sock; # port where FastCGI processes were spawned } } Fast CGI Params: fastcgi_param QUERY_STRING $query_string; fastcgi_param REQUEST_METHOD $request_method; fastcgi_param CONTENT_TYPE $content_type; fastcgi_param CONTENT_LENGTH $content_length; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_NAME $fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param REQUEST_URI $request_uri; fastcgi_param DOCUMENT_URI $document_uri; fastcgi_param DOCUMENT_ROOT $document_root; fastcgi_param SERVER_PROTOCOL $server_protocol; fastcgi_param HTTPS $https if_not_empty; fastcgi_param GATEWAY_INTERFACE CGI/1.1; fastcgi_param SERVER_SOFTWARE nginx/$nginx_version; fastcgi_param REMOTE_ADDR $remote_addr; fastcgi_param REMOTE_PORT $remote_port; fastcgi_param SERVER_ADDR $server_addr; fastcgi_param SERVER_PORT $server_port; fastcgi_param SERVER_NAME $server_name; # PHP only, required if PHP was built with --enable-force-cgi-redirect fastcgi_param REDIRECT_STATUS 200; UPDATE: Upon further digging, it looks like Nginx is generating the 404 and PHP-FPM is executing the script properly and returning a 200. • Apache 2.4 + PHP-FPM + ProxyPassMatch

    - by apfelbox
I recently installed Apache 2.4 on my local machine, together with PHP 5.4.8 using PHP-FPM. Everything went quite smoothly (after a while...) but there is still a strange error: I configured Apache for PHP-FPM like this: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName localhost DocumentRoot "/Users/apfelbox/WebServer" ProxyPassMatch ^/(.*\.php(/.*)?)$ fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/Users/apfelbox/WebServer/$1 </VirtualHost> It works, for example if I call http://localhost/info.php I get the correct phpinfo() (it is just a test file). If I call a directory however, I get a 404 with body File not found. and in the error log: [Tue Nov 20 21:27:25.191625 2012] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 28997] [client ::1:57204] AH01071: Got error 'Primary script unknown\n' Update I now tried doing the proxying with mod_rewrite: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName localhost DocumentRoot "/Users/apfelbox/WebServer" RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/(.*\.php(/.*)?)$ fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/Users/apfelbox/WebServer/$1 [L,P] </VirtualHost> But the problem is: it is always redirecting, because on http://localhost/ automatically http://localhost/index.php is requested, because of DirectoryIndex index.php index.html Update 2 Ok, so I think "maybe check whether there is a file to give to the proxy first: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName localhost DocumentRoot "/Users/apfelbox/WebServer" RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f RewriteRule ^/(.*\.php(/.*)?)$ fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/Users/apfelbox/WebServer/$1 [L,P] </VirtualHost> Now the complete rewriting does not work anymore... Update 3 Now I have this solution: ServerName localhost DocumentRoot "/Users/apfelbox/WebServer" RewriteEngine on RewriteCond /Users/apfelbox/WebServer/%{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f RewriteRule ^/(.*\.php(/.*)?)$ fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/Users/apfelbox/WebServer/$1 [L,P] First check, that there is a file to pass to PHP-FPM (with the full and absolute path) and then do the rewriting. This does not work when using URL rewriting inside a subdirectory, also it fails for URLs like http://localhost/index.php/test/ So back to square one. Any ideas?

  • Apache 2.4 with PHP-FPM

    - by tubaguy50035
I'm trying to setup Apache 2.4 with PHP-FPM 5.4 using the new modules with Apache 2.4. The following is what I have currently in my virtual host file: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin root@localhost DocumentRoot /var/www #Directory permissions <Directory /var/www/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Require all granted </Directory> CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined </VirtualHost> I have PHP-FPM running using Unix sockets with a sock file located at /var/run/php5-fpm.sock. How do I proxy my requests to this sock file? I've seen some sites say to use ProxyPassMatch and others are saying Rewrite Rule. Are there pros or cons on either side? Also, most sites I'm seeing are showing ProxyPassMatch with a regex to only pass .php files. Could I also send it .html files? For whatever reason, we have a ton of PHP inside .html files. Edit: As noted in the comments, it looks like mod_proxy_fcgi doesn't support Unix sockets. Is there another module I should be using?

  • PHP-FPM stops responding and dies [migrated]

    - by user12361
I'm running Drupal 6 with Nginx 1.5.1 and PHP-FPM (PHP 5.3.26) on a 1GB single core VPS with 3GB of swap space on SSD storage. I just switched from shared hosting to this unmanaged VPS because my site was getting too heavy, so I'm still learning the ropes. I have moderately high traffic, I don't really monitor it closely but Google Adsense usually record close to 30K page views/day. I usually have 50 to 80 authenticated users logged in and a few hundred more anonymous users hitting the Boost static HTML cache at any given moment. The problem I'm having is that PHP-FPM frequently stops responding, resulting in Nginx 502 or 504 errors. I swear I have read every page on the internet about this issue, which seems fairly common, and I've tried endless combinations of configurations, and I can't find a good solution. After restarting Nginx and PHP-FPM, the site runs really fast for a while, and then without warning it simply stops responding. I get a white screen while the browser waits on the server, and after about 30 seconds to a minute it throws an Nginx 502 or 504 error. Sometimes it runs well for 2 minutes, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 5 hours, but it always ends up hanging. When I find the server in this state, there is still plenty of free memory (500MB or more) and no major CPU usage, the control and worker PHP-FPM processes are still present, and the server is still pingable and usable via SSH. A reload of PHP-FPM via the init script revives it again. The hangups don't seem to correspond to the amount of traffic, because I observed this behavior consistently when I was testing this configuration on a development VPS with no traffic at all. I've been constantly tweaking the settings, but I can't definitively eliminate the problem. I set Nginx workers to just 1. In the PHP-FPM config I have tried all three of the process managers. "Dynamic" is definitely the least reliable, consistently hanging up after only a few minutes. "Static" also has been unreliable and unpredictable. The least buggy has been "ondemand", but even that is failing me, sometimes after as much as 12 to 24 hours. But I can't leave the server unattended because PHP-FPM dies and never comes back on its own. I tried adjusting the pm.max_children value from as low as 3 to as high as 50, doesn't make a lot of difference, but I currently have it at 10. Same thing for the spare servers values. I also have set pm.max_requests anywhere from 30 to unlimited, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. According to the logs, the PHP-FPM processes are not exiting with SIGSEGV or SIGBUS, but rather with SIGTERM. I get a lot of lines like: WARNING: [pool www] child 3739, script '/var/www/drupal6/index.php' (request: "GET /index.php") execution timed out (38.739494 sec), terminating and: WARNING: [pool www] child 3738 exited on signal 15 (SIGTERM) after 50.004380 seconds from start I actually found several articles that recommend doing a graceful reload of PHP-FPM via cron every few minutes or hours to circumvent this issue. So that's what I did, "/etc/init.d/php-fpm reload" every 5 minutes. So far, it's keeping the lights on. But it feels like a dreadful hack. Is PHP-FPM really that unreliable? Is there anything else I can do? Thanks a lot!

  • Php5-fpm Crash if much visitors

    - by chillah
I decided to change my OP to Nginx from Litespeed because i read much about the low resource that Nginx would cost. Im running a Wordpress site with 500 users online My www.conf in "/etc/php5/fpm/pool.d" pm.max_children = 200 pm.start_servers = 20 pm.min_spare_servers = 20 pm.max_spare_servers = 60 ;pm.process_idle_timeout = 10s; ;pm.max_requests = 1000 Since i changed that config to higher requests and more children the Site needs longer till it shows me a White blank page. If i restart the php5-fpm prozess then, the site is running fine again. The CPU usage is at 5% if the php5-fpm is crashed and if its running its about 20 to 90%! Heres my Nginx.conf: user www-data; worker_processes 2; pid /var/run/nginx.pid; events { worker_connections 3048; # multi_accept on; } http { ## # Basic Settings ## sendfile on; tcp_nopush on; tcp_nodelay on; keepalive_timeout 65; types_hash_max_size 2048; # server_tokens off; I already tried changing the settings, tryed all variants but nothing worked. • javascript doesn't seem to be able to post form data (nginx server w/ php-fpm)

    - by Jones
    So the situation is like so: I have a nginx server with php-fpm installed. All is well and the site scripts and all work perfectly. I am able to use html to POST form data and it works just fine. However, There seems to be be some correlation between javascript, the POST protocol and nothing happening. I cant seem to determine the issue. Example: I have a user login widget that uses javascript on submit the fields and POST the data to a backend auth script which returns a server message that then populates the login box saying something like "Login Successful" followed by reloading the page to properly enable content. Problem is, nothing happens when you hit submit. I do know the setup works because i had it working on apache before migrating. Also if it makes any difference, the server is a Amazon EC2 instance using the Amazon AMI. I really dont know where to start looking on this one, but below is my default.conf for the server: upstream backend_get { server 127.0.0.1:80 weight=1; } upstream backend_post { server 127.0.0.1:80 weight=1; } #Main website url server { listen 80; server_name server.com; #charset koi8-r; access_log logs/host.access.log main; error_log logs/host.error.log; location / { root /usr/share/nginx/html; index index.php index.html index.htm; if ($request_method = POST) { proxy_pass http://backend_post; break; } } location ~ \.php$ { #fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php-fpm/php-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } }

  • Install php-fpm + php-mysql + MariaDB on Centos from repos

    - by Alexander
I try to take CentOS 6.4 x64 and install nginx w/ php-fpm on it (and that's easy part, no problem at all), then add php-mysql package and MariaDB as a mysql drop-in replacement. And here I face the hang... I've added epel, nginx and remi repos, add priority=10 line to its .repo files, and now as I install MariaDB-server the dependency also brings me MariaDB's "common" package. Then, as I try to install php-mysql, I see file /usr/share/mysql/french/errmsg.sys from install of MariaDB-server-5.5.27-1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package mysql-libs-5.5.28-1.el6.remi.x86_64 warnings. If I deinstall MariaDB server, I'm able to install mysql-libs and php-mysql, but it won't allow me to install MariaDB later. Is there any way to escape that (infinite) loop? I believe the solution is simple but still can't see it. Please help to install php-fpm + php-mysql and MariaDB as DB server!

  • apache 2.4 php-fpm proxypassmatch for pretty urls

    - by tubaguy50035
I have a URL like http://newsymfony.dev/app_dev.php/_profiler/5080653d965eb. I would like to send this script to PHP-FPM. I currently have this as my vhost: VirtualHost *:80> ServerName newsymfony.dev DocumentRoot /home/COMPANY/nwalke/www/newsymfony.dev/web/ ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error_log LogLevel info CustomLog /var/log/apache2/access_log combined <Directory /home/COMPANY/nwalke/www/newsymfony.dev/web/> AllowOverride All Require all granted DirectoryIndex app.php </Directory> ProxyPassMatch ^/(.*\.php)$ fcgi://127.0.0.1:9003/home/COMPANY/nwalke/www/newsymfony.dev/web/$1 </VirtualHost> If I browse to app_dev.php it works just fine. But if I do app_dev.php/_profiler/5080653d965eb I get a 404 and the request never gets sent to FPM. How can I alter my ProxyPassMatch to pass anything with .php in the URL? I'm trying to do this with Symfony, but I'm pretty sure it applies to everything.

  • nginx php-fpm uploaded files have nginx ownership after executing move uploaded file

    - by Vangel
I have a problem with php 5.3.6 using PHP-FPM and file uploads. My Nginx runs as user nginx PHP-FPM uses pools configured for each vhost. For example a user: test group : test runs one pool. When the php file uploads to temp file it is owned by user test. After move_uploaded_file is executed by php script it is owned by nginx :/. The reason for this could be the fact that the original upload file script does an exec('/usr/bin/php do_uploadedfiles.php') which does the actual moving. I do not know if the change in ownership to web server is the correct behaviour. Is there a way in PHP to change the ownership back to the user I want? Maybe make exec "run as"?

  • php-fpm or nginx: bad gateway

    - by John Tate
    I'm getting a bad gateway error all the sudden for a site. I didn't change the configuration for the site, I just added a new server config where I put them under /etc/nginx/servers and it stopped working. The new server works, and there is no conflict between the php-fpm listen addresses. server { listen 80; server_name obfuscated.onion; location = / { root /var/www/sites/obfuse; index index.php; } location / { root /var/www/sites/obfuse; index index.php; if (!-f $request_filename) { rewrite ^(.*)$ /index.php?q=$1 last; break; } if (!-d $request_filename) { rewrite ^(.*)$ /index.php?q=$1 last; break; } } error_page 404 /index.php; location ~* ^.+.(jpg|jpeg|gif|css|png|js|ico)$ { root /var/www/sites/obfuse; access_log off; expires 30d; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /var/www/sites/obfuse$fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param QUERY_STRING $query_string; fastcgi_param REQUEST_METHOD $request_method; fastcgi_param CONTENT_TYPE $content_type; fastcgi_param CONTENT_LENGTH $content_length; fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } } There is nothing unusual in php-fpm's log even when I raised the level to debug. • LIVE Video Streaming with Nginx + PHP-FPM / Process Timeout

    - by user3393046
I have a live video streaming in my server using nginx + php. the php file reas a live streaming and it directly sends it to the client. I have only one problem. The problem is that i want each request to be in a new process of php-fpm. In a few words i don't want to have idle timeout for a process but instead i want them to close instant when a request is being closed. With idle timeout i have huge problems which are hard to explain at the moment but i'm really sure that if i disable the idle timeout everything will be perfect. Is there any way to do this? I'm using on demand php-fpm

  • APC + FPM memory fragmentation without a reason

    - by palmic
    My setup @ debian 6-testing is: nginx 1.1.8 + php 5.3.8 + php-fpm + APC 3.1.9 Because i use automatic deployment with apc_clear_cache() after deploy, my target is to set up APC to cache all my project (up to 612 php files smaller than 1MB) without files changes checking. My confs: FPM: pm.max_children = 25 pm.start_servers = 4 pm.min_spare_servers = 2 pm.max_spare_servers = 10 pm.max_requests = 500 APC: pc.enabled="1" apc.shm_segments = 1 apc.shm_size="64M" apc.num_files_hint = 640 apc.user_entries_hint = 0 apc.ttl="7200" apc.user_ttl="7200" apc.gc_ttl="600" apc.cache_by_default="1" apc.filters = "apc\.php$,apc_clear.php$" apc.canonicalize="0" apc.slam_defense="1" apc.localcache="1" apc.localcache.size="512M" apc.mmap_file_mask="/tmp/apc-php5.XXXXXX" apc.enable_cli="0" apc.max_file_size = 2M apc.write_lock="1" apc.localcache = 1 apc.localcache.size = 512 apc.report_autofilter="0" apc.include_once_override="0" apc.coredump_unmap="0" apc.stat="0" apc.stat_ctime="0" The problem is i have my APC memory fragmented into 5 pieces at 14,5MB loaded into memory which capacity is 64M. My system memory is 640MB, used about 270MB at most. The http responses lasts about 300ms - 5s. When i switch on apc.stat="1", the responses are about 50ms - 80ms which is quite good, but i cannot understand why is apc.stat="0" so much whorse. The APC diagnostic tool shows "1 Segment(s) with 64.0 MBytes (mmap memory, pthread mutex Locks locking)" in general cache information window so i hope i am right that it's mmap setup which allows tweaking APC shm onto upper values than shows system limit in /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax (my shows 33MB).

  • Setting up Apache 2.2 + FastCGI + SuExec + PHP-FPM on Centos 6

    - by mr1031011
I'm trying to follow this very detailed instruction here, I simply changed from www-data user to apache user, and is using /var/www/hosts/sitename/public_html instead of /home/user/public_html However, I spent the whole day trying to figure out why the php file content is displayed without being parsed correctly. I just cant's seem to figure this out. Below is my current config: /etc/httpd/conf.d/fastcgi.conf User apache Group apache LoadModule fastcgi_module modules/mod_fastcgi.so # dir for IPC socket files FastCgiIpcDir /var/run/mod_fastcgi # wrap all fastcgi script calls in suexec FastCgiWrapper On # global FastCgiConfig can be overridden by FastCgiServer options in vhost config FastCgiConfig -idle-timeout 20 -maxClassProcesses 1 # sample PHP config # see /usr/share/doc/mod_fastcgi-2.4.6 for php-wrapper script # don't forget to disable mod_php in /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf! # # to enable privilege separation, add a "SuexecUserGroup" directive # and chown the php-wrapper script and parent directory accordingly # see also http://www.brandonturner.net/blog/2009/07/fastcgi_with_php_opcode_cache/ # FastCgiServer /var/www/www-data/php5-fcgi #AddType application/x-httpd-php .php AddHandler php-fcgi .php Action php-fcgi /fcgi-bin/php5-fcgi Alias /fcgi-bin/ /var/www/www-data/ #FastCgiExternalServer /usr/lib/cgi-bin/php5-fcgi -socket /tmp/php5-fpm.sock -pass-header Authorization #DirectoryIndex index.php # <Location /fcgi-bin/> # Order Deny,Allow # Deny from All # Allow from env=REDIRECT_STATUS SetHandler fcgid-script Options +ExecCGI </Location> /etc/httpd/conf.d/vhost.conf <VirtualHost> DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.shtml index.cgi SuexecUserGroup www.mysite.com mygroup Alias /fcgi-bin/ /var/www/www-data/www.mysite.com/ DocumentRoot /var/www/hosts/mysite.com/w/w/w/www/ <Directory /var/www/hosts/mysite.com/w/w/w/www/> Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> PS: 1. Also, with PHP5.5, do I even need FPM or is it already included? 2. I'm using mod_fastcgi, not sure if this is the problem and it I should switch to mod_fcgid? There seems to be conflicting records on the internet considering which one is better. I have many virtual hosts running on the machine and hope to be able to provide each user with their own opcache

  • PhpMyAdmin 500 Internal Server Error on Nginx/php5-fpm/Debian

    - by ThrownAway
I downloaded PhpMyAdmin a while ago and am having a hard time getting it to work. Requesting localhost/phpmyadmin gives a 500 Internal Server Error response, but there's nothing in the error log. These are the steps I did: Downloaded the newest phpmyadmin and unzipped all the files to /var/vhosts/phpmyadmin/www/ Created a new php5-fpm pool and a server block on nginx Changed the owner of all the files inside phpmyadmin/ Tried requesting localhost/phpmyadmin and localhost/phpmyadmin/setup The phpmyadmin is running inside a chroot, and all the files are owned by www-data so it shouldn't be a permission error. I made a new php file in the same directory to produce an error and it logs just fine so it has to be just phpmyadmin. Here's my php5-fpm pool: [phpmyadmin] listen = /var/vhosts/phpmyadmin/tmp/.php.sock; user = www-data group = www-data chroot = /var/vhosts/phpmyadmin/ chdir = / php_admin_value[error_reporting] = E_ALL php_admin_value[error_log] = error.log php_admin_flag[log_errors] = on php_admin_flag[display_errors] = on php_value[session.save_handler] = files php_value[session.save_path] = /tmp And Nginx server block: server { listen 80; root /var/vhosts/phpmyadmin/www; server_name pma.domain; location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /index.html; autoindex on; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(/.+)$; include fastcgi_params; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/vhosts/phpmyadmin/tmp/.php.sock; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /www$fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_param DOCUMENT_ROOT /www; } index index.html index.htm index.php; try_files $uri $uri/ =404; } Any ideas what could be wrong? Why is it not producing any errors even though I've forced them to be on?

  • PHP-FPM Pool, Child Processes and Memory Consumption

    - by Jhilke Dai
    In my PHP-FPM configuration I have 3 Pools, the eg: Config is: ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ; Pool 1 ; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; [www1] user = www group = www listen = /tmp/php-fpm1.sock; listen.backlog = -1 listen.owner = www listen.group = www listen.mode = 0666 pm = dynamic pm.max_children = 40 pm.start_servers = 6 pm.min_spare_servers = 6 pm.max_spare_servers = 12 pm.max_requests = 250 slowlog = /var/log/php/$pool.log.slow request_slowlog_timeout = 5s request_terminate_timeout = 120s rlimit_files = 131072 ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ; Pool 2 ; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; [www2] user = www group = www listen = /tmp/php-fpm2.sock; listen.backlog = -1 listen.owner = www listen.group = www listen.mode = 0666 pm = dynamic pm.max_children = 40 pm.start_servers = 6 pm.min_spare_servers = 6 pm.max_spare_servers = 12 pm.max_requests = 250 slowlog = /var/log/php/$pool.log.slow request_slowlog_timeout = 5s request_terminate_timeout = 120s rlimit_files = 131072 ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ; Pool 3 ; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; [www3] user = www group = www listen = /tmp/php-fpm3.sock; listen.backlog = -1 listen.owner = www listen.group = www listen.mode = 0666 pm = dynamic pm.max_children = 40 pm.start_servers = 6 pm.min_spare_servers = 6 pm.max_spare_servers = 12 pm.max_requests = 250 slowlog = /var/log/php/$pool.log.slow request_slowlog_timeout = 5s request_terminate_timeout = 120s rlimit_files = 131072 I calculated the pm.max_children processes according to some example calculations on the web like 40 x 40 Mb = 1600 Mb. I have separated 4 GB of RAM for PHP, now according to the calculations 40 Child Processes via one socket, and I have total of 3 sockets in my Nginx and FPM configuration. My doubt is about the amount of memory consumption by those child processes. I tried to create high load in the server via httperf hog and siege but I could not calculate the accurate memory usage by all the PHP processes (other processes like MySQL and Nginx were also running). And all the sockets were in use, So, I seek guidance from anyone who have done this before or know how exactly the pm.max_children in PHP Works. Since I have 3 Pools/sockets with 40 child processes does that count to 3 x 40 x 40 Mb of Memory usage ? or it is just like 40 Max. Child processes sharing 3 sockets (and the total memory usage is just 40 x 40 Mb) ?

  • PHP-FPM chroot mail issues

    - by tubaguy50035
I'm trying to chroot a site using PHP-FPM. I've been following this post and have done mount --bind for all of those files and folders. When I try to send mail using mail(), it returns false. PHP does have access to usr/sbin/sendmail (which is what my sendmail path is set to in the php.ini), along with the other files mentioned in that post, within the chroot. Anybody have any clues as to what files I'm missing or how to debug further?

  • Uninstall php and nginx or fix setup

    - by jreed121
First off, I'm a huge linux noob - sorry... I'm trying to setup nginx with php-fpm on debian and I'm pretty sure that I've completely screwed it up. nginx seems to be running fine because I can it it from a web browser and it load the stock "Welcome to nginx!" page. I'm not so sure about php-fpm though. When I try something like # restart php-fpm I get: bash: restart: command not found First off php-fpm some how got installed as php5-fpm when I do root@server:/etc/init.d# ls, which seems to contradict every tutorial and help doc I've read (supposed to be 'php-fpm'). I can restart it with this: service php5-fpm restart And just enter the package name 'php5-fpm' I get this: root@server:~# php5-fpm [17-Nov-2012 23:15:36] NOTICE: PHP message: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20100525/suhosin.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20100525/suhosin.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 [17-Nov-2012 23:15:36] ERROR: An another FPM instance seems to already listen on /var/run/php5-fpm.sock [17-Nov-2012 23:15:36] ERROR: FPM initialization failed The root for nginx is /usr/share/nginx/html, when I try to navigate to a .php file in there with my web browser, it tries to download the file instead of interpret it. I would like this folder to be in my user's home directory ie: /home/administrator/www or /home/nginx/www. I know in order to do this I need to modify nginx.conf, but I find that configuration file difficult to understand. I suppose the fact that my .php scripts aren't being handled is my bigger problem anyways. When I try to see what running on port 9000 (php-fpm default port) with lsof -i :9000 it returns nothing - I guess indicating that it isn't listening. then I head over to vim /etc/php5/fpm/php-fpm.conf and there is no where to designate a port number. So should I just uninstall everything and start from scratch? If so, how do I clean it all up? Any suggestions for a tutorial once I'm ready to try again? Should I attempt to troubleshoot this mess? If so where should I start? Sorry guys, I'm feeling pretty stupid and lost right now. I'm not sure what my next steps are in trying to resolve this issue are. I realize that this is a horrible question for this type of Q&A site, but I'd really appreciate any guidance.

  • nginx php-fpm empty site

    - by Katafalkas
    I am writing this as I was stuck trying to fix it whole night. We have recently migrated to a new server. Before migration we have been running our site on nginx + cgi (script). After migration we decided to try apache + mod_php. It was rather terrible, and I would like to migrate back to nginx, but this time I want it with php-fpm (as people say its a cool) So I did follow a number of guides and I think i done everything correctly. As well as that I have our old config files for "server" section, which i reviewed and places into new config. So I ended up having an empty site when I enter our URL. (By empty I mean blank page, no letter, errors or anything at all.) In the access log there are some weird errors like: 123.242.148.54 - - [22/Mar/2012:06:08:11 +0200] "-" 400 0 "-" "-" My guess is that php-fpm is not working, but not sure how to confirm it. Maybe some1 could give some help ? Would much appreciate. my nginx config: user nginx; worker_processes 12; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log; #error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log notice; #error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log info; pid /var/run/nginx.pid; events { worker_connections 4096; } http { include /etc/nginx/mime.types; #default_type application/octet-stream; log_format main '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" ' '$status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" ' '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"'; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log main; sendfile on; #tcp_nopush on; #keepalive_timeout 0; keepalive_timeout 65; tcp_nodelay on; gzip on; gzip_disable "MSIE [1-6]\.(?!.*SV1)"; fastcgi_buffer_size 256k; fastcgi_buffers 4 256k; server { listen 80; server_name www.example.com; access_log /var/log/nginx/example.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log; root /home/www/example; index index.php; client_max_body_size 50M; #error_page 404 /404.html; # phpMyAdmin location /phpmyadmin { root /usr/share/; error_log /var/log/nginx/phpmyadmin.log; try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php; } location ~ ^/phpmyadmin/.*\.php$ { root /usr/share/; error_log /var/log/nginx/phpmyadmin.log; include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params; fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; } # Munin location /monitoring { root /var/www/; auth_basic "Restricted"; auth_basic_user_file /etc/nginx/conf.d/monitoring_users; error_log /var/log/nginx/monitoring.log; index index.html; } # The site location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php/?$uri&$args; } # PHP interpreter location ~ \.php { include /etc/nginx/fastcgi_params; fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; } }

  • Nginx + PHP-FPM on Ubuntu giving "upstream sent invalid status" on uploading Joomla extension zip file

    - by faridv
I have a Ubuntu server running in an ESV VM emvironment and I've installed a webserver with this configuration: Nginx 1.0.5 PHP 5.3.6 with PHP-FMP Mysql 5.1.62 I have an installation of latest version of joomla on this server and when I try to upload an install package (zip file containing joomla's extension files) I get "502 Bad Gateway" with the following error in nginx log file: 2012/05/13 11:22:21 [error] 19911#0: *20 upstream sent invalid status "-1 Copy failed" while reading response header from upstream, client: 10.10.56.70, server: localhost, request: "POST /administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=install HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "radio.xx.xx", referrer: "http://radio.xx.xx/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer" I've searched all over the internet and I've changed too many parameters of php configuration, fpm config and nginx config including increasing execution times and etc but my problem still remains. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my Joomla and problem is in webserver but there's no usable log messages, except above message. Can anyone help me with this problem?
