• telerik nested grid issue

  1.Here I am having a grid within a parent grid and there is a link button within the nested grid. 2.For the link button I need to use the item command event of the nested grid or I can use the item command of parent grid as well. 3.The issue is when I click on the link button within nested grid then item command event doesn’t get fired for the nestedgrid.But in case of parent grid its working fine. 4.I have tried handlers and item created event also to use handlers in code behind or in aspx.But nothing helped in getting me item command event hit for the nested grid. 5.Previously in case of repeaters there was one item command which was handling all the grids. I have tried different item command event for child and parent but it also didn’t work.

• How to find 2D grid cells swept by a moving circle?

  I'm making a game based on a 2D grid, with some cells passable and some not. Dynamic objects can move continuously, independent of the grid, but need to collide with impassable cells. I wrote an algorithm to trace a ray against the grid, that gives me all cells that ray intersects. However, actual object are not point-sized; I'm currently representing them as circles. But I can't figure out an effective algorithm to trace a moving circle. Here's a picture of what I need: The numbers show in what order the circle collides with grid cells. Does anybody know the algorithm to find these collisions? Preferably in C#. Update The circle can be bigger than a single grid cell.

  We have a Ubuntu 11 server running VMware virtual machines. We manage it using VMware Infrastructure Web Access 2.0.0. My colleague is able to use it successfully with Internet Explorer 9. However, I am stuck with an empty login page that says "Loading" in the title when trying to connect. It happens in all browsers (IE9, Firefox, Chrome, Opera). My colleague also gets stuck at "Loading" if he tries another browser. How can I resolve this problem?

• Windows store apps: ScrollViewer with dinamic content

  I have a scrollViewer with an ItemsControl (which holds rows with data) as content. The data from these rows is grabbed from the server so I want to display a ProgressRing with a text until the data arrives. Basically I want the content of the ScrollViewer to be a grid with progress ring and a text and after the data arrives the content to be changed with my ItemsControl. The problem is that the ScrollViewer does not accept more than 1 element as content. Please tell me how can I solve this problem.   Maybe a little more of the same questions that others have asked but wanted to clarify my doubt, for some years run my hosting company (reseller of esds) and I've done well so far, but I am determined to bring quality and server technology to offer another level. So far I have understood that there is a difference between cloud and cluster servers because the cluster function as load balancers that distribute in different servers roles and use the servers less overloaded in the cloud is the union of multiple servers and then the same is vitualized unlike the cluster that is allowed to use the resources of the CPU and RAM servers in the virtualized environment. My approach is to use 3 dedicated servers to create a cloud server, My doubts: Does this type of cloud servers are only reserved for big companies? (Either because the union of the servers is done by hardware or software with high price) What characteristics should these servers meet? Possibly through software which should be used? Available? • Small store infrastructure - where to begin?

  It looks like my older brother is about to change jobs - from lawyer to shooting range proprietor - and since I'm the family 'computer guy' I have the task of coming up with and setting up the in-store equipment. Only problem, I don't know how to start or where to look. I'm a web programmer, not an IT specialist. To that end, I figured I should ask the pros. Users: 3 (myself, my brother, and his business partner) Equipment: 1 Windows (likely 7) desktop for POS software, 1 Windows desktop/laptop for backroom use (bookkeeping, etc.) Other: ?? I'm looking for a reliable and, well, idiot-proof way to handle backups. Neither my brother nor his business partner are tech savvy (A web browser, email, MS Word and Excel are about the extent of their knowledge), so I need something they can handle. On-site would be preferable to off-site, given my brother's hesitance to have sensitive business data be handled by an outside source. I'm also looking for a small on-site server. I estimate that, at most, only 2-3 users will need access. A linux solution would keep costs down, but I'm concerned about Windows <- linux interoperability. Would the store security cameras' storage be handled by the security company, or would we have to stream that data to our own server? I know from my own experience with personal security that the company gives/loans a recording device to the home owner, but I'm not sure about business security. I know this sounds like a shopping list, and it's pretty vague. I wish I could give more detail, but between my own ignorance and things not being 100% nailed down on the business end, I'm a bit stuck. At the very least I'd like a nudge - links on a place to start, what to look for, things I need to think about, etc. - for this endeavor. Thanks.

• Standards for documenting/designing infrastructure

  We have a moderately complex solution for which we need to construct a production environment. There are around a dozen components (and here I'm using a definition of "component" which means "can fail independently of other components" - e.g. an Apache server, a Weblogic web app, an ftp server, an ejabberd server, etc). There are a number of weblogic web apps - and one thing we need to decide is how many weblogic containers to run these web apps in. The system needs to be highly available, and communications in and out of the system are typically secured by SSL Our datacentre team will handle things like VLAN design, racking, server specification and build. So the kinds of decisions we still need to make are: How to map components to physical servers (and weblogic containers) Identify all communication paths, ensure all are either resilient or there's an "upstream" comms path that is resilient, and failover of that depends on all single-points of failure "downstream". Decide where to terminate SSL (on load balancers, or on Apache servers, for instance). My question isn't really about how to make the decisions, but whether there are any standards for documenting (especially in diagrams) the design questions and the design decisions. It seems odd, for instance, that Visio doesn't have a template for something like this - it has templates for more physical layout, and for more logical /software architecture diagrams. So right now I'm using a basic Visio diagram to represent each component, the commms between them with plans to augment this with hostnames, ports, whether each comms link is resilient etc, etc. This all feels like something that must been done many times before. Are there standards for documenting this?

  Working on a new project, and need some documentation advice. I need to be able to document ~ 400 client sites to track assets, setup, hardware layout, network layout, etc. We want to have photos, maps, etc. wherever possible. We need this for a call center environment. Has anyone found any off the shelf software that performs this functionality, or are we on our own to develop the tools that we require?

  I wanted to make a function that populates a Grid in WPF with pictures. So I did that: private void setCellImage(Grid g, Image img, int column, int row) { Grid.SetColumn(img, column); Grid.SetRow(img, row); if (!g.Children.Contains(img)) g.Children.Add(img); g.UpdateLayout(); } And was using it by calling in that way: for (int i = 0; i < 15; i++) for(int j=0; j<15; j++) setCellImage(gameMap,background, i, j); But it wasn't working. it populated a grid only in cell 14,14 leaving all other cells blank. • Simple grid layout question

  I can't believe I'm back to this after working with WPF for 3 months :) Consider very common setup: How do I configure the rowheights so that the top and bottom rows (menu bar and status bar) size to fit the height of their content, and the middle row (main content), fills the remaining available space in the program? • WPF Grid Column MaxWidth not enforced

  This problem stems from not being able to get my TextBlock to wrap. Basically as a last-ditch attempt I am setting MaxWidth on my container grid's columns. I was surprised to find that my child label and textbox still do whatever they want (bad children, BAD) and are not limited by my grid column's MaxWidth="200". What I'm really trying to do is let my TextBlock fill available width and wrap if necessary. So far after trying many variations of HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" on every known parent in the universe, nothing works, except setting an explicit MaxWidth="400" or whatever number on the TextBlock. This is not good because I need the TextBlock to fill available width, not be limited by some fixed number. • Making a Grid in an NSView

  I currently have an NSView that draws a grid pattern (essentially a guide of horizontal and vertical lines) with the idea being that a user can change the spacing of the grid and the color of the grid. The purpose of the grid is to act as a guideline for the user when lining up objects. Everything works just fine with one exception. When I resize the NSWindow by dragging the resize handle, if my grid spacing is particularly small (say 10 pixels). the drag resize becomes lethargic in nature. I can see where the inefficiency is coming in, drag-resizing the NSWindow is constantly calling the drawRect in this view as it resizes, and the closer the grid, the more calculations per pixel drag of the parent window. I was thinking of hiding the view on the resize of the window, but it doesn't feel as dynamic. I want the user experience to be very smooth without any perceived delay or flickering. Does anyone have any ideas on a better or more efficient method to drawing the grid? All help, as always, very much appreciated.
