    I have to following setup on two Win7 machines connected over LAN: UltraVNC Server <---- UltraVNC Viewer Since I'm only interested into connecting always to the same server, I was wondering if it is possible to start the viewer and connect to the server with only one-click. Start Viewer + Connect + Enter Password (three steps) Since I've already figured out that I can automate the last step with the -password argument, I'm down to two steps: Start Viewer + Connect (two steps) How can I tell the UltraVNC viewer to automatically connect?

  • High fan speed with no reason

    For a few weeks, the fans of my Lenovo B590 laptop, running on Xubuntu 14, turn to high speed a few minutes after it is turned on. The fans won't speed down until I turn the computer off. It seems that we cannot control the fan manually with this model, so I guess the only solution is to understand why this happens.

  • Network on linux server is periodically down

    I have an old server running Fedora 4 that occasionally just stops responding via network for about an hour. This happens 1-2 times a week. Also no connection from the server itself to any other computer on the network is possible when it happens. The network settings and routes look fine. There are no unusual log messages and no unusual processes running at that time. If I restart the network or just do an ifconfig eth0 down & ifconfig eth0 up it works fine afterwards. I know that the server should be updated to a currently supported OS, but that is not really an easy option right now. Any ideas on how I could diagnose and fix that problem?

  • Reset network (airport) connections from the command line

    I have this MacBook Pro that has intermittent problems connecting to my Wifi network. Sometimes it helps to disable/re-enable airport and sometimes I have to restart the computer to get my network running again. Has anyone experienced this? And is there a command I can run that would do the same as I do when I restart the computer (short of actually restarting it, obviously) or at least a command that restarts the airport service?   • WWW::Mechanize Perl login only works after relaunch

    Hello, I'm trying to login automatically in a website using Perl WWW::Mechanize. What I do is: $bot = WWW::Mechanize->new(); $bot->cookie_jar( HTTP::Cookies->new( file => "cookies.txt", autosave => 1, ignore_discard => 1, ) ); $response = $bot->get( 'http://blah.foo/login' ); $bot->form_number(1); $bot->field( usern => 'user' ); $bot->field( pass => 'pass' ); $response =$bot->click(); print $response->content(); $response = $bot->get( 'http://blah.foo' ); print $response->content(); The login works, but when I load the page it tells me that I am not connected. You see that I store cookies in a file. Now if I relaunch the script without the login part, it says that I am connected... Does anyone understand this strange behaviour ?

    Hello together, my Question is quite simple. I have an add-button. When I tap on it -- presentmodelviewController presents a UIViewController, which contains a simple Table with cells. When I tap on a Cell, i want to display a new View using pushViewController, which automatically creates a "back Button". At the top of it in this new View i have a Textfield, where I can enter some Text. When I tap the back-button, the view slides back to the add-View (which was presented using modalView...). Now i want the text edited in the view before to be placed in the Label of the first row (cell) on which I tapped. So I want to do this for 5 cells. Each of them presenting another xib.     Hi, I've stuck myself in a c++ project under linux ,for which I get an undefined reference when I try to create an object of a class that I just wrote.I believe this is an linker error caused by the fact that somewhere , somehow I should tell the linker to take into account the new class. I looked at the project properties and at the run command it executes a script (cmake.sh) . Because the project wasn't created by me , and because I'm a novice in working under linux, I just don't know how to direct the linker to do what I expect him to do !

    Hello, I have a strange "problem". Could someone explain me why : If I have in an ObservableCollection, twice (or more time) an item with the same value, then the selections of those values in the ListBox won't work properly ? In fact, what the ListBox is doing when I click on an item(Even in single item selection) : It selects the first item from the ObservableCollection collection with a matching value. so in the case if multiple items with same value are in the collection, then only the first one will be selected !

  • OpenGL Motion blur with the accumulation buffer in WxWidgets

    Hello, I'm trying to achieve a motion blur effect in my OpenGL application. I read somewhere this solution, using the accumulation buffer: glAccum(GL_MULT, 0.90); glAccum(GL_ACCUM, 0.10); glAccum(GL_RETURN, 1.0); glFlush(); at the end of the render loop. But nothing happens... What am I missing ? Additions after genpfault answer: Indeed I did not asked for an accumulation buffer when I initialized my context. So I tried to pass an array of attributes to the constructor of my wxGLCanvas, as described here: http://docs.wxwidgets.org/2.6/wx_wxglcanvas.html : int attribList[]={ WX_GL_RGBA , WX_GL_DOUBLEBUFFER , WX_GL_MIN_ACCUM_RED, WX_GL_MIN_ACCUM_GREEN, WX_GL_MIN_ACCUM_BLUE, 0} But all I get is a friendly Seg fault. Does someone understand how to use this ? (no problems with int attribList[]={ WX_GL_RGBA , WX_GL_DOUBLEBUFFER , 0})

  • SQLite in android

    Hi, My android application uses an sqlite database and during first run it deletes some rows . The next time it runs it tries to do the same , but because the rows were previously deleted it fails . I use SQLite database browser to inspect the database ,after first run (when the rows are deleted) and I observe that the rows that no longer should exist are still in the database , even if ehwn running the app again those rows are no longer visible ! What is the cause for this behavior ?

  • Chrome extensions: Content script (jQuery) in Youtube does not work properly

    I have this: $(document).ready(function() { $("button.yt-uix-expander-arrow").attr("id", "yt-uix-expander-arrow"); $("#yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover(function() { alert("Hello"); }); }); injected into Youtube. Using right click inspect element, the <button class="yt-uix-expander-arrow"> has a id="yt-uix-expander-arrow" attribute successfully added to it. However the mouseover event does not trigger. However if I were to change $("#yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover() to $(".yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover() it works. That's very unusual, because the #yt-uix-expander-arrow id has already been added to the button element. I tested it out on Facebook, adding a id to a class and doing a mouseover() event on the ID and it works. Any idea?

    Hi, i'm using some of facebook widgets. I have "Fan Box" and "Share". They work just fine. I'm trying to use the Comment Box and the problem is it does not show up at all on my site. http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/ This is the facebook page with the widgets. "Website or Business" column widgets work fine when i use them. "Developers" column widgets don't work at all. I have a developer account all setup. This is the widget code.   • Compiling LaTex bib source

    Hi I am writing my thesis in Latex, and I have the references in an own thesis.bib file which look as follows @Article{xxx, author = "D.A. Reinhard", title = "Case Study", year = "1985", } and I reference them in my main document as ~\cite{xxx} When I compile then the main document with: pdflatex main.tex than it shows me question marks instead of the proper references to the bibliography. Do I also need to compile the bib source on its own? If yes, can somebody please tell me the command for Linux Many thanks!
