  • NEW - Oracle Certifications and Documentation Available for Pre-Acquisition Sun/BEA Products

    - by PCat
If you have been looking for Oracle certification information or documentation for the pre-Acquisition Sun/BEA products, such as WebLogic Portal (WLP) or WebCenter Interaction (WCI), formerly ALUI, you can now find them at the Certifications Central Hub.Use this Hub if you're looking for WLP/WCI documentation and certified configurations and more. Scroll down, below the bullets, to the bottom of the table to find: Of course, you can still find a great wealth of certification information for current products at this hub, as in the past. Be sure to check before you install! In case you haven't used this page before, notice that you can get to the documentation, certifications and downloads for WLP/WCI products by clicking on "WebLogic Portal" or "WebCenter Interaction" in the leftmost pane. In the new screen, you will see tabs for Overview, Downloads, Documentation and Community. Let us know if you don't find what you are looking for. Happy Trails.

  • New MOS note regarding Oracle Fusion Middleware certifications

    - by Sadia2
To get started with the My Oracle Support Certification Tool for newer Oracle Fusion Middleware releases, see Doc ID 1368736.1 . This includes Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.4+, and many popular certifications for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.4 and 11.1.1.5. Beginning with FMW 11.1.1.6 and other FMW 11g R2 (11.1.2) releases (e.g., Forms & Reports, Identity Access Management) there is a concerted effort to load all FMW certifications into the MOS Certification tool.To help you find certification information for older Oracle Fusion Middleware releases, see Doc ID 431578.1 .

  • New Tabs at End Opens New Tabs at the End of the Chrome Tab Bar

    - by Jason Fitzpatrick
Chrome: If you’d prefer to have new tabs open at the end of the row instead of next to their parent tab, New Tabs at End is a simple Google Chrome extension that will scoot your tabs where you want them. It’s a minor thing, to be sure, but many users prefer to have tabs open at the end of the row–I know it took me quite awhile as a new Chrome user to get used to the default next-to-parent action. If you’d prefer to have the new tabs open at the end, hit up the link below to install New Tabs at End to tweak your tab bar workflow. • Umbraco Gold Partner going from strength to strength.

    - by Vizioz Limited
It is amazing how time flies when you are having fun and we certainly have been having an interesting year at Vizioz, I thought it was about time I wrote another blog post and shared some of our news.Over the last 6 months we have:a) Had the pleasure of working with some great clients from the USA, Ireland and the UKb) Built some interesting and complex sites for Multi-national brands (under NDA's, you'd be impressed if you knew!)c) Converted the Umbraco Users Manual to a free iBook for all those iPad owning Umbraco users.d) We have hired three new employees (Sam, Pearl & Zaara)e) We have given our notice on our current office (see below)And on the horizon:a) We have submitted Allen for Umbraco to the Apple App store for approval (hopefully this will be available very soon!)b) We are about to sign a new office lease for a new office that is twice the size of our current office, so we will have room for a meeting room, a chill out room and some more employees! So it's exciting times at Vizioz, thank you to all our fantastic clients for making this possible, we look forward to working with you all over the years to come. One thing we don't shout about as much as we probably should, we also renewed our Umbraco Gold Partner status for the second year, showing our commitment to the Umbraco CMS, if you are looking for a great Umbraco partner with experienced developers to build your new site, or to take over the on-going maintenance of an existing site, then pick up the phone and give us a call, we would love to add you to our list of happy customers!

  • Problem rendering VBO

    - by Onno
I'm developing a game engine using OpenTK. I'm trying to get to grips with the use of VBO's. I've run into some trouble because somehow it doesn't render correctly. Thus far I've used immediate mode to render a test object, a test cube with a texture. namespace SharpEngine.Utility.Mesh { using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using OpenTK; using OpenTK.Graphics; using OpenTK.Graphics.OpenGL; using SharpEngine.Utility; using System.Drawing; public class ImmediateFaceBasedCube : IMesh { private IList<Face> faces = new List<Face>(); public ImmediateFaceBasedCube() { IList<Vector3> allVertices = new List<Vector3>(); //rechtsbovenvoor allVertices.Add(new Vector3(1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f)); //0 //rechtsbovenachter allVertices.Add(new Vector3(1.0f, 1.0f, -1.0f)); //1 //linksbovenachter allVertices.Add(new Vector3(-1.0f, 1.0f, -1.0f)); GL.TexCoord2(datapoint.TexCoord); GL.Vertex3(datapoint.Position); } } GL.End(); } } } Gets me this very nice picture: The immediate mode cube renders nicely and taught me a bit on how to use OpenGL, but VBO's are the way to go. Since I read on the OpenTK forums that OpenTK has problems doing VA's or DL's, I decided to skip using those. Now, I've tried to change this cube to a VBO by using the same vertex, normal and tc collections, and making float arrays from them by using the coordinates in combination with uint arrays which contain the index numbers from the immediate cube. In some other questions I read that, if I did something wrong, I'd get no rendering at all. Clearly, something gets sent to the GFX card, but it might be that I'm not sending the right data. I've tried altering the sequence in which the triangles are rendered by swapping some of the index numbers in the vert, tc and normal index arrays, but this doesn't seem to be of any effect. I'm slightly lost here. What am I doing wrong here?

  • Should I start MCPD training now or wait for new exams?

    - by lunchmeat317
i apologize if this question has been asked before, or if this is the wrong place to put it. I'm beginning my study track for the MCPD certification in Web Development. However, Microsoft plans to retire this certification on July 31st of 2013, along with two of the necessary tests to receive the certification. On MS's site, I can't find a newer certification path to take - I imagine that Microsoft will release new certification paths and new tests for their new software, but I don't know when that will happen. I don't really know anything about Microsoft's process, as this is the first Microsoft certification I'll be studying for. The bottom line is this - I don't want to lose six months waiting for a new test to appear that won't expire, but I don't want to rush to get a certification that will be invalid in six months (or have to reset any progress due to new study material). To those with experience in affairs like this - what is the best course to take, and can I maximize the time I have now (not wait for new testing material)? Is there any way to find material for the new tests that Microsoft will be rolling out? Thank you for your patience. If this is the wrong place to put this question, I would like to request that it be moved to the correct StackExchange site instead of being closed. Thanks for your help!

  • Proposal for a new position at work

    - by Seth P.
I have an idea at work for a new Product Manager position at our office. I work with several developers, and it would be helpful to have someone working in a type of "Scrum Master" capacity, dividing out assignments and making sure they get complete. This position does not currently exist, however I feel that I have enough evidence to indicate that it be very helpful for our business. What is the best way to present this proposal to my boss? Is there a specific template that you know of for new position? It should be able to describe the qualification for the position, their responsibilities, and what metrics we would use to measure them. Thanks. UPDATE++++ With Anna's suggestion, I gave more details about this specific position. However, I would ideally like the most generic way to present a new position to my boss.

  • Are Java certifications important for an architect role?

    - by Tahir Akram
My this question is career path related. I want to know how much Java Certifications (SCJP, SCWCD and others) are important for an architect position. If a person posses a good experience in Java development and want to pursue his career on architect level, do you guys think he need to have certification on his CV. If he has never worked on lead developer roles? If you conducting my interview for an architect position. And I have worked as a Java web developer in different teams having 5 years of exp. Never lead any. And I am having certification badges on my CV. How can a developer make his career path towards being an architect in a team?

  • Print Any Document Type with AutoVue Document Print Services

    - by [email protected]
The newly released AutoVue Document Print Services allow development organizations to automate and process high volume printing operations, of both business and technical document types, within their broader enterprise applications. For many organizations, their printing processes are challenged by the fact that they can only print a small subset of the documents required by their enterprise users. By integrating AutoVue Document Print Services, and deploying them in conjunction with their existing print server solutions, organizations can address that challenge and automate the printing of virtually any document type required in any business process, greatly extending the value of their print server solutions, and improving business processes and workforce productivity. • New Analytic settings for the new code

    - by Steve Tunstall
If you have upgraded to the new 2011.1.3.0 code, you may find some very useful settings for the Analytics. If you didn't already know, the analytic datasets have the potential to fill up your OS hard drives. The more datasets you use and create, that faster this can happen. Since they take a measurement every second, forever, some of these metrics can get in the multiple GB size in a matter of weeks. The traditional 'fix' was that you had to go into Analytics -> Datasets about once a month and clean up the largest datasets. You did this by deleting them. Ouch. Now you lost all of that historical data that you might have wanted to check out many months from now. Or, you had to export each metric individually to a CSV file first. Not very easy or fun. You could also suspend a dataset, and have it not collect data at all. Well, that fixed the problem, didn't it? of course you now had no data to go look at. Hmmmm.... All of this is no longer a concern. Check out the new Settings tab under Analytics... Now, I can tell the ZFSSA to keep every second of data for, say, 2 weeks, and then average those 60 seconds of each minute into a single 'minute' value. I can go even further and ask it to average those 60 minutes of data into a single 'hour' value.  This allows me to effectively shrink my older datasets by a factor of 1/3600 !!! Very cool. I can now allow my datasets to go forever, and really never have to worry about them filling up my OS drives. That's great going forward, but what about those huge datasets you already have? No problem. Another new feature in 2011.1.3.0 is the ability to shrink the older datasets in the same way. Check this out. I have here a dataset called "Disk: I/O opps per second" that is about 6.32M on disk (You need not worry so much about the "In Core" value, as that is in RAM, and it fluctuates all the time. Once you stop viewing a particular metric, you will see that shrink over time, just relax).  When one clicks on the trash can icon to the right of the dataset, it used to delete the whole thing, and you would have to re-create it from scratch to get the data collecting again. Now, however, it gives you this prompt: As you can see, this allows you to once again shrink the dataset by averaging the second data into minutes or hours. Here is my new dataset size after I do this. So it shrank from 6.32MB down to 2.87MB, but i can still see my metrics going back to the time I began the dataset. Now, you do understand that once you do this, as you look back in time to the minute or hour data metrics, that you are going to see much larger time values, right? You will need to decide what size of granularity you can live with, and for how long. Check this out. Here is my Disk: Percent utilized from 5-21-2012 2:42 pm to 4:22 pm: After I went through the delete process to change everything older than 1 week to "Minutes", the same date and time looks like this: Just understand what this will do and how you want to use it. Right now, I'm thinking of keeping the last 6 weeks of data as "seconds", and then the last 3 months as "Minutes", and then "Hours" forever after that. I'll check back in six months and see how the sizes look. Steve

The task ahead of the team is something nobody else including you has accomplished in their career before. Management insists on higher productivity of the whole team, and as senior developer you are responsible. Any tips for coming out trumps in a situation like this? Clearly, the entire team needs time to learn and let's not forget the team's new. However, deadlines are up ahead as well...

  • What is the best certification for the self-taught ASP.Net programmer? [closed]

    - by Wahid Bitar
I learned the C#.Net language from books and many other resources then i did some good projects with ASP.Net "Web Forms & MVC". But i wanna a good certificate to get a better work out of my country as i suppose. I've two choices: Apply for a " college / institute " and start study academic courses to be more professional and maybe in two years I'll "hopefully" graduate with this college certificate. Apply for kind of " Certifications by Companies " like MCTS from Microsoft or something like that and study their straightforward courses then maybe with three or four months I'll get this "Not official Certificate". Is the second type of certifications good for learning and work or the best is the hard way ?. Please give me advises with certifications names please. ======================= Update: This is not related to certain country or region. I'm asking about a good certification and courses for an ASP.Net and C# in general programmer.

  • Two new profile in new visual studio 2010.

    - by Jalpesh P. Vadgama
Visual studio 2010 is a great tool and i have become fan of visual studio 2010. I have found two new code profile in visual studio 2010. Web Development Profile Web Development Code Optimized Profile. Web Development profile will hide the top bar which contains the client object and and event dropdowns. So it will have more spaces. Another one web development code optimized which will hide all the things except main windows. It will hide Toolbox,CSS properties and all other things so you will have more spaces to play with your html. So as a web developer you can use this two great new profile as per your convenience when you only want to play with your html then use webdevelopement code  optimized profile and another interesting thing is that you don’t have to reset your settings you can also just do with Tools->Settings menu like below. This will swap different profile like below. Hope this will help you.. Technorati Tags: Visual Studio 2010,ASP.NET 4.0
