  • how to ignore ivy revision number?

    Guys, I have certain jar files without revision number. But as rev is mandatory attribute for ivy dependency, i am providing the revision attribute. But i have something like (-[revision]) in url resolver. but its taking the module number instead of ignoring the revision attribute. I know it wont ignore the revision attribute as its not null. Following is the output that i get default-cache: no cached resolved revision for perltools#perltools;latest.integration [ivy:retrieve] tried [ivy:retrieve] listing all in [ivy:retrieve] using privateRepo to list all in [ivy:retrieve] ApacheURLLister found URL=[httP://myrepo/ivyRepository/perltools/jars/perltools.jar].   • Long primitive or AtomicLong for a counter?

    Hi I have a need for a counter of type long with the following requirements/facts: Incrementing the counter should take as little time as possible. The counter will only be written to by one thread. Reading from the counter will be done in another thread. The counter will be incremented regularly (as much as a few thousand times per second), but will only be read once every five seconds. Precise accuracy isn't essential, only a rough idea of the size of the counter is good enough. The counter is never cleared, decremented. Based upon these requirements, how would you choose to implement your counter? As a simple long, as a volatile long or using an AtomicLong? Why? At the moment I have a volatile long but was wondering whether another approach would be better. I am also incrementing my long by doing ++counter as opposed to counter++. Is this really any more efficient (as I have been led to believe elsewhere) because there is no assignment being done? Thanks in advance Rich

That’s where you hold your arms up and a partner punches you in your midsection – your breadbasket. I put my arms up, and braced for impact. The trainer came over, saw I was a bit nervous, and coached me through. I can see the fear in your eyes. Don’t be afraid to take the punch. Tighten your core, breathe through the hit. Don’t panic. Over the summer we’d do counter drills as well. This is where a partner throws a punch, you defend but also throw one back – a counter punch. You never just sit back and take a beating, you deflect the blow and come back with one more powerful. These lessons on fighting can apply to all aspects of our lives and any attempts at success that we have. I saw this image recently and agree with it 100%: Success is never a straight forward line. It’s messy, its wrought with failures, its learning over time and applying those life lessons. It’s learning how to take punches and lose your fear, its seeing a punch coming and countering it, but most of all its not giving up and continually moving forward. We do stairs at boxing, which is running up and down three flights of stairs. I’m not anywhere near incredible shape and after doing multiple stairs in a single workout you can feel gassed, tired, even discouraged after hitting the second floor and seeing everyone else running by you. I read a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. that I cling to throughout my day: You want to be successful? Take the punches, but learn how to take them. Counter them. and no matter what, always move forward.

  • What exactly is the build number in MAJOR.MINOR.BUILDNUMBER.REVISION

    What I think about Build Numbers is that whenever a new nightly build is created, a new BUILDNUMBER is generated and assigned to that build. So for my 7.0 version application the nightly builds will be 7.0.1, 7.0.2 and so on. Is it so? Then what is the use of a REVISION after the build number? Or is the REVISION part being incremented after each nightly build? I am a little confused here... do we refer to each nightly build as a BUILD? The format is mentioned here: AssemblyVersion - MSDN

  • EMERGENCY - Major Problems After Perl Module Installed via WHM

    I attempted to install the perl module Net::Twitter::Role::API::Lists using WHM and after doing so my whole site came down. It seems that something that was updated with the install isn't functioning correctly and since our website it written in Perl none of our site scripts will run. In almost 8 years of working with Perl I've never had any issues arise after installing a perl module so I have no idea how to even start troubleshooting. The error I see when trying to compile any of our Perl scripts is below. I'd appreciate any advice on what might be wrong and steps on how I can go about resolve it. Thanks in advance for your help!     Hello all! I have a pretty weird problem. We have setup an SVN-Mirror via cronjob (because it needs to go from inside to outside of a firewall, so no post-commit-hook possible) and svnsync. We installed a pre-revprop-hook just as told. Everything seems to work fine, except that it doesn't. E.g. when manually executing the script. # svnsync --non-interactive sync file://<path-to-mirror> --source-username <usr> --source-password <pwd> Committed revision 19817. Copied properties for revision 19817. No error, no complaints. But if checking for the revision properties it says: # svnlook info <path-to-mirror> 0 # svn info -r HEAD file://<path-to-mirror> 2>&1 Path: <root-of-mirror> URL: file://<path-to-mirror> Repository Root: file://<path-to-mirror> Repository UUID: <uid> Revision: 19817 Node Kind: directory Last Changed Rev: 19817 So somehow the author and timestamp information gets lost. But we need that information for our internal processes. Since no error or warning is produced I have absolutely no idea even where to start to look. Everything is local (except for the remote master), so there are no server-logs to look at. I also tried to manually recopy via svnsync copy-revprops (http://chestofbooks.com/computers/revision-control/subversion-svn/svnsync-Copy-revprops-Ref-svnsync-C-Copy-revprops.html). It says Copied properties for revision 19885. But when I query them, it's just the same. Any ideas how I could approach that problem, or even better -- how to solve it? Any ideas appreciated.

Is it even possible - to count file downloads, and remove 1 from the count if the user canceled the download?   • Hudson deploy specific git revision

    I'm using hudson to auto-deploy my Rails app to heroku. In my main build job I pull from a Git repo (hosted using gitosis on the same machine), master branch with the following: URL of repository: /home/git/repositories/my_app.git Name of repository: origin Refspec: +refs/heads/master:refs/remotes/origin/master Branches to build: master Then, assuming all tests pass, I want to kick off a new build that is the deploy to Heroku. I can't however figure out how to get that deploy build to checkout the particular revision that this build was using. I understand there's a parameterized trigger plugin that would allow me to pass this revision number, but I don't know how I can tell hudson to checkout this particular revision on the deploy build. I'm pretty sure this just has to do with my limited knowledge of git, but where in the hudson git config's is there an option to checkout a particular revision? Otherwise, I could have many commits happen whilst a build is happening, and when it kicks off a deploy build, that deploy build would just check out the HEAD of the branch, which may not be the same as the code that was pushed that triggered this build. I don't fully understand why I have a refspec in Hudson, then also specify a branch to build, I thought this was the same thing. Can refspec somehow specify the revision number? How would this be referenced if it was passed through with the parameterized trigger plugin? (I've never used that plugin, but someone else recommended it as a way to pass in vars to a new build, if there's another way I'm all ears)

That would look stupid. When adding multiple counters, only one of the counters would count. When removing the queue function, both counters would work, but as you can imagine, the delay of the text() would be gone (as it isnt fx-category). It is probably a bit tricky to make out how I can have multiple counters, and still delay the text()-function by 100ms, but I was hoping there is somebody here with spare brain capacity for these things ;) You can see a (NSFW) problem demo here: Just look underneath the sharing icons and you will notice that the text changes WHILE the objects fade out. Looking for some help to sove this problem. I would like to call the text() function once the text has faded to opacity 0, then fade in once the text() has executed. Thank you for your time.

    Hello, I having problem to update the counter (integer value). this is the definitions of the class: public class Item_Actions { private final int MAX_ITEMS = 100; private Item myItem[]; private int counter; public Item_Actions() { myItem = new Item[MAX_ITEMS]; counter++; } //Constructor add item into the menu (Description, type & price of Item) public void addItem(Item itm) { myItem[counter] = itm; counter++; }....... Now everytime I call the addItem constructor from another class, the counter always stays on zero. What causing it and how do I save the data inside? thanks

The (seeming) problem is (I use Ecpilse v3.5.0 (build id I20090611-1540)): My freshly installed Subclipse plugin offers "revision - last revision loaded into workspace" label under "Windows > Preferences > Team > SVN > Label decorations" That seems to correspond to "Last changed revision" under "File > Properties > Subversion" (and not the "Revision" there). Hence, the question.

  • How do I determine the revision number of an Android build?

    I know how to get the API level, android.os.Build.VERSION.SDK_INT, but there are also several revisions of each level release, e.g. for 2.1 there's rev 1 and 2. How do I determine the revision of a build? The reason i'd like to know this is that I have a workaround for a bug in Android 2.1 (and 2.2), and this workaround will break the moment the corresponding bug is fixed. So right now i'm in the odd position of hoping that the bug won't be fixed (at least not until I can find an answer to above question).
