• How can I get HTTPD to serve the html/php files and not list/index them when they are in folder for virtual host. Using Centos 6.0

  My virtual hosts are configured as below, initally I could not even get to the /public_html/ directory when typing example.com and apache would just serve me up the default welcome page, I would also get the error: Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /var/www/html/example.com/public_html/ in the log . After editing the welcome.conf page (- Index) so it does not show again when I now type example.com the/public_html/ contents (Index.php) are indexed in the browser. • Problems with apache svn server (403 Forbidden)

  Iv recently setup a SVN server on my papache webserver. I installed USVN http://www.usvn.fr/ to help manage the repositories from a web interface. When I create a repository and try to import code into it from netbeans i get the following error: org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed Server sent unexpected return value (403 Forbidden) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/python1' I know i have the username and password correct (and I have tried different users) I have done some research and it seems that it is most likely an Apache svn error. • Apache2 Virtual Host with ScriptAlias returning 403

  I am trying to reference my libs directory which is a sibling directory to my DocumentRoot. I am using the following ScriptAlias to try to accomplish this. • Configure APE-Server on Ubuntu10.10 webserver

  I'm having problems configuring my ape-server. First, I reside behind a corporate firewall where our own DNS servers are maintained. I requested a domain name for my server and was provided uslonsweb003.us.mycompany.com from my IT group. Therefore, my website works and can be accessed via (intranet only) at http://uslonsweb003.us.mycompany.com/test.php. I followed the instructions at ape-project.org and run the Check Tool at the end only to find I get an error stating: Running test : Contacting APE Server (adding frequency) Can't contact APE Server. I use Windows 7 (server 2) and Windows XP (server 1) UPDATE: I needed to remove DocumentRoot "g:/wamp/www" line :D it was there by mistake! things are working fine now. But one thing: the URL gets replaced by the local ip address any way to not make that happen?

  I have to create a virtual host on a server which, previously hosted a single website (domain name). Now I'm trying to add a second domain on this server (using the same nameserver).   I'm trying to set up Apache to use the VirtualDocumentRoot directive but my sites aren't all exactly the same. Most of the sites have a drupal folder which should be the root but there are a few really old drupal sites, a few rails sites, some django sites, etc. that want the Document root to be / or some other folder. Is there a way to set up VirtualDocumentRoot based on a conditional or is there a way to use RewriteRule/Cond to detect that / is the incorrect folder if there is a drupal folder or a public folder?   I have a Plone server running on CentOS, I have multiple instances of Plone running 4.0 and 4.1, I also have multiple sites. I am new to linux and haveing problems getting Apache to work with multiple virtuale hosts. The first host listed works just fine but the second host does not. • Running WordPress and Ghost on Apache with mod_proxy

  I currently have three WordPress sites hosted on Apache with virtual host files to direct the right domain to the right DocumentRoot. Ghost (node.js) just came out and I've wanted to tinker with it and just play around on one of my spare domains. I'm not really interested in moving over to nginx so I'm trying to get Ghost working on Apache via mod_proxy. I've managed to get Ghost working on my spare domain, but I think there's a problem with my virtual host files, as all of my other domains start pointing to Ghost as well. Here are two virtual host files, one for my main WordPress site that works fine, and the second for Ghost. Domains removed and replaced with DOMAIN and DOMAIN2.   I am having some problems with Apache2 configuration. I have already tried to look for documentation on the web (Apache's site, Debian's site, here on serverfault, etc), but nothing really helps. I tried to have different /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/ files (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/mysite.dev , /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/livesite.com ) - and of course with the actual sites-available related files, but achieving the same results. I have tried to have a peak on error.log and access.log but there's nothing I can see. My httpd.conf contains: AccessFileName .htaccess And I have no /etc/apache2/conf.d/virtual.conf file. Any help would be greatly appreciated - if I did not provide enough info please let me know I will do my best to provide all necessary info. Thanks

• Wildcard SSL and Apache configuration

  Hi all, I'm pulling my hard on this configuration, which probably is simply. I have a wildcard ssl certificate which is working. I have the website setup to run on domain.com under SSL. Now, I'm in need to run many subdomains (*.domain.com) on the same server with the same SSL certificate. Shouldn't be that hard, right? Well, I can't get it going. Point is, that the first config is another Tomcat server that serves another site and listens to domain.com and www.domain.com. The other config listens to *.domain.com and pulls the content from another Tomcat server. I already tried this whole setup with mod_rewrite, but simply don't see what I'm doing wrong.   I have two domains (siteA.com & SiteB.com) that point to the same webserver and I would like to show different web pages for each. However when I load my domain siteB.com I still get directed to /var/www/siteA. Why is that? Do I have to rename the /etc/apache2/sites-available/default to /etc/apache2/sites-available/siteA as well?   I fixed it in PORTS TRIGGER menu of my router. Thanks you anyway I have a weird problem related with (i think) my cable-router and my configured vhosts in Apache2. The point is I can't access from outside of my LAN to any of my configured vhosts if I set the http port of Apache to 80 and i add a NAT rule for it. Otherwise, if I set my Apache port to 81 (or any else) with its respective NAT rule on my router it works.   I have a linode server with Apache2 running a handful of sites with virtualhosting. All sites work fine on port 80, but one site has a ssl certificate and also runs okay. My problem is as follows: The non-https sites, if visiting https://domain.com - show the contents of the only secure site... Is there a way of disabling the *:443 match for these non-secure sites? • Apache not routing to tomcat on correct Virtual host

  We are looking at moving from Websphere to Tomcat. I'm trying to send traffic to tomcat from apache web server based on the virtual host directives in apache web server. After some playing around I have it sort of working, but I'm noticing that if I have a JKMount directive in the first VirtualHost in apache, all virtualHosts will send to the application server. If I have the JKMount in Virtual hosts further down in the configs, then only that VirtualHost works with the request. • Domain name is bringing up wrong site

  I have a VPS that hosts several domains. I have set up Apache in the following manner: First VirtualHost /etc/apache2/sites-available/somedomain.com <VirtualHost somedomain.com:80> ServerName somedomain.com ServerAlias www.somedomain.com ... </VirtualHost> Second VirtualHost /etc/apache2/sites-available/someotherdomain.com <VirtualHost someotherdomain.com:80> ServerName someotherdomain.com ServerAlias www.someotherdomain.com ... </VirtualHost> Then I symlink the config files from sites-available to sites-enabled and all is well. I had a need to 'turn off' someotherdomain.com, so I removed the symlink to /etc/apache2/sites-available/someotherdomain.com from sites-enabled and the site no longer shows up... BUT typing someotherdomain.com into a web browser brings up somedomain.com!!! I need it to not resolve at all. Does somethiing need to be done in the VirtualHost to just automatically return a 500 or something along those lines. I really don't want people to reach one website from a different domain. Thanks! • Virtualhost entries gets over-written when apache httpd.conf is rebuilt

  Background: We have been trying to get a wildcard SSL working on multiple sub domains on a single dedicated address.. We have two sub domains next.my-personal-website.com and blog.my-personal-website.com Part of our strategy has been to edit the httpd.conf and add the NameVirtualHost xx.xx.144.72:443 directive and the virtualhost entries for port 443 for the subdomains there. This works good if we just edit the httpd.conf, add the entries, save it and restart the apache. The problem: But if we add a new sub domain from cpanel or we run the # /usr/local/cpanel/bin/apache_conf_distiller --update # /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf the virtualhost entries that we added manually are no more there in the newly generated httpd.conf file. Only the virtualhost entry for the main domain for port 443 that was there before we made edits to the httpd.conf is there(assuming we are not discussing virtualhost entries for port 80). I understand we need to put the new virtualhost entries in some include files as mentioned here in the cpanel documentation. But am not sure where to. So the question would be where do I put the NameVirtualHost xx.xx.144.72:443 directive and the two virtualhost directive for port 443, so that they are not overwritten when httpd.conf is rebuilt/regenerated later.   Hello everybody. On my wordpress website one little thing doesn't work. Sometimes the Webserver adds the port number 16080 in the URL, which leads to an error (network timeout). Wrong: http://www.example.com:16080/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Correct: http://www.example.com/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Has someone a "Server port 16080 problem fix"?
