• Apache Redirect from https to https

  I am trying to redirect without a rewrite rule from eg https://www.domain.com to https://www.domain.net . I have a wildcard certificate for *.domain.net . This yields the following warning in my error_log [warn] RSA server certificate wildcard CommonName (CN) `*.domain.net' does NOT match server name!? This makes sense and I understand why the warning. I would like to ask if there is a way to use the Redirect directive to accomplish the above without the warnings. • Sharing settings between a few virtual hosts in Apache

  There are many virtual hosts in my apache configuration, each having quite a big amount of settings. The problem is that most of the virtual servers have the same settings. So config file is huge, full of identical virtual hosts, that differ only by ServerName directive. To change or add setting, I need to go through all of these vhosts. Is it possible to somehow share settings between virtual hosts, but still having few of them with their own ones? I hoped dynamic vhosts would be a good solution, but as I understand, it doesn't fit my problem, because there is no way to set specific settings for some of the vhosts. Furthermore I don't want my vhosts to be dynamic, because I have a fixed number of them. ServerAlias directive is also not a solution, because I need to know what url the user came from.

• Wamp virtualhost with supporting of remote access

  To cut the long story short, I've setup a Wamp server with local virtual host for domain like sample.dev, now I've bind my static IP and port 80 to my Apache and asked the client to make some changes in his hosts file and add x.x.x.x sample.dev , I've also configured my httpd virtual host like this : <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAlias sample.dev DocumentRoot 'webroot_directory' </VirtualHost> Client can reach to my web server using the direct access by ip address, but when he tries using the sample domain looks like he gets in to some infinite loop. • Newly added virtualhost not working, domain points to /var/www/

  I've had no problem with vhosts before, but for some reason this one isn't pointing to the right document root. The domain is pointing to the correct IP, apache sees no errors with the config file in sites-available, yet it just isn't pointing correctly.   I configured my DNS (bind9) to accept every subdomain, using a wildcarded 'A' record : *.mydomain.tld. IN A xx.xx.xx.xx I configured Apache to serve some specific subdomains using virtual hosts : <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName sub1.mydomain.tld ServerAlias sub1.mydomain.tld JkMount / sub1JK JkMount /* sub1JK </VirtualHost> when I ping from a remote computer on a subdomain configured in apache I get a response. When I ping on a subdomain that is not configured in apache, the host is not found. I don't understand why apache configuration would affect DNS resolution like this? • ErrorDocument 404 not found in non-existent subdomain

  I am trying to get the apache server to issue a custom 404 error for invalid subdomains. The following is the relevant part of the httpd configuration: Alias /err/ "/var/www/error/" ErrorDocument 404 /err/HTTP_NOT_FOUND.html.var <VirtualHost *:80> # the default virtual host ServerName site_not_found Redirect 404 / </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName example.com ServerAlias ??.example.com </VirtualHost> What I get instead is this: Not Found The requested URL / was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I don't understand why a URL to non-existent-subdomain.example.com produces a 404 error without custom error as shown above while a URL to eg.example.com/non-existent-file produces the full custom 404 error. Can someone advise on this. Thanks.

• Multiple redirects / rewrites within one VirtualHost group

  Hi, I have a client that now wants to point a couple of dozen urls to their main site. I have added them as serveralias's in the sites apache config file... so now all of these urls point to the primary one... excellent. The problem i have is that if ANY of these alias's are accessed at the root (i.e. www.domain.com rather than www.domain.com/some-page/) then i need to redirect them to a specific page within the site (i.e. anyone accessing domain.com might need to be sent to domain.com/special-landing-page/). However, any visit to anything other than the landing page should just continue as normal without any re-directs. I've been battling with this for a few hours and can't seem to find the best solution. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  I'm unsure as to why I'm getting the following error when apache is rebooted: Invalid command 'VirtualDocumentRoot', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration Action 'start' failed. • How to configure a static wildcard subdomain with dnsmasq.

  I have a network behind a NAT with a few machines. The machines are: router - NAT, dnsmasq, forwarding - directly connected to the inet server - which runs ssh, www and some other stuff clients - which do stuff on server I also have mydomain.com. server.mydomain.com is pointing to my connection's IP (single IP), which is the router, which forwards ports to server. Server, has a httpd running, which serves different sites based on vhosts. So I have site1.server.mydomain.com, site2.. The problem is that all the traffic is going thru the router, and when I check logs I always see the router's IP for everything (so it's hard to see who is running the script with the while(1)). I would just ServerAlias site1.server.local, but most of the sites have a root URL saved somewhere on top of which other URLs are built, so I can't do that. The solution for me would be telling dnsmasq somehow to answer to *.mydomain.com with server's IP. Is this possible somehow?

SELINUX is disabled Distro is CentOs 5.5 Which the above symlink I get an 403 and an error entry in error_log Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible:/var/www/html/app1/current When I symlink my app in the subdir of /var/www/html instead of /home/foo it works. How I can avoid this error still placing my app in my /home/foo directory ?
