    PHP & Zend Noob here I've downloaded the skeleton project from here: https://github.com/zendframework/ZendSkeletonApplication Say i want to open a new page that simply displays "hello world" text if click on the "ZF2 Development Portal" button(bottom left green button) on the page that launches --- how do i do this? See image: I've read through this tutorial, but i'm not sure how the model, view, or controller are actually launched?     Hello! I've got a strange startup error for Zend Server CE - it's probably easy to fix, but I don't have much experience with Zend Server! I'm running the latest OSX 10.6.6 and the latest Zend Server CE for Mac. The challenge is that ZEND SERVER wont open the GUI with this error, and seemingly I can click on Zend Server in the Applications folder and it opens for a second and immediately closes. I've made sure that Web Sharing is turned off to avoid conflicts, and I've run Disk Utility from my recovery disk to make sure there are no file system errors.     So i'm using the standard Zend Layout for my site. I have a number of custom controllers and views, and the content of these pages is displayed, but the details in the head element of the layout.phtml are not shown. Do i need to manually associate the Zend_Layout with each specific controller?. I expected since the layout is loaded via the bootstrap this should be available for free.     I have the following query that extends from Zend_DB_Table_Abstract $select = $this->select() ->from('expense_details', array('SUM(expense_details_amount) AS total')) ->where('YEAR(expense_details_date) = ?', '2010') ->where('MONTH(expense_details_date) = ?', '01') ->where('expense_details_linkemail = ?', '[email protected]'); However it returning a NULL value despite its "equivalent" returning the desired value SELECT SUM(expense_details_amount) AS total FROM expense_details WHERE YEAR(expense_details_date) = '2010' AND MONTH(expense_details_date) = '01' AND expense_details_linkemail = '[email protected]' Is my Zend_DB_Table construct above correct?

    I'm using Zend_Navigation and am trying to integrate it with Zend_Acl. Each page in the navigation has a privilege attribute. What I can't determine is how to define multiple privileges for a single page. Use case: A page that is for managing users. I want to display that page (in navigation) if the current signed in user's role has add, edit, or delete privileges on the Users resource. Example entry in the navigation XML: <admin_users> <label>Users</label> <route>default</route> <controller>admin</controller> <action>users</action> <resource>Users</resource> <privilege>add,edit,delete</privilege> </admin_users> Using a comma-separated list as above doesn't lend the desired behavior.

    Hello, When I call the method findDependentRowset, the returning rowset contains all the rows in the dependent table, and not only the rowsets that matches the reference. Hoping someone could explain this, since I was of the assumption that findDependentRowset would only return rowset matching my 'rule'? I have the following DbTable Models: class Model_DbTable_Advertisement extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'Advertisements'; protected $_primary = 'Id'; protected $_dependentTables = array ( 'Model_DbTable_Image', ); } class Model_DbTable_Image extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'Images'; protected $_primary = 'Id'; protected $_referenceMap = array( 'Images' => array( 'column' => 'AdvertisementId', 'refColumn' => 'Id', 'refTableClass' => 'Model_DbTable_Advertisement', ) ); } Now when i execute the following: (Simplified for Question sake) $model = new Model_DbTable_Advertisement(); $rowSet = $model->fetchAll(); $row = $rowSet->current(); $dRow = $row->findDependentRowset('Model_DbTable_Image'); I would expect $dRow to only contain 'Images' that has the same advertisementId as $row, but instead i receive all rows in the Images table.     Hi, I'm trying to create a custom form element which extends Zend_Form_Element_Text with a validator (so I don't have to keep setting up the validator when I use certain elements). Anyway, I'm having trouble passing $maxChars variable to it when I instantiate it in my Main form. I've provided my shortened code below This is my custom element below class My_Form_Custom_Element extends Zend_Form_Element_Text { public $maxChars public function init() { $this->addValidator('StringLength', true, array(0, $this->maxChars)) } public function setProperties($maxChars) { $this->maxChars= $maxChars; } } This is where I instantiate my custom form element. class My_Form_Abc extends Zend_Form { public function __construct($options = null) { parent::__construct($options); $this->setName('abc'); $customElement = new My_Form_Custom_Element('myCustomElement'); $customElement->setProperties(100); //**<----This is where i set the $maxChars** $submit = new Zend_Form_Element_Submit('submit'); $submit -> setAttrib('id', 'submitbutton'); $this->addElements(array($customElement ,$submit)); } } When I try to pass '100' using $customElement-setProperties(100) in my Form, it doesnt get passed properly to my StringLength validator. I assume it's because the validator is getting called in Init? How can I fix this?

  • Getting the last User ID in Zend Framework

    Using MySQL query browser, I manually made a table called users and input some date in the fields. I set the primary key to id and set it to auto increment. There are 3 rows, the highest id is 3. I then made the following class in the method directory to call upon the data in the table etc. class Application_Model_DbTable_User extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'user'; public function getLatestUserId() { $id = $this->getAdapter()->lastInsertId(); return $id; } } In the controller I do the following which gets the value generated by the method and lets the view access it: $usersDbModel = new Application_Model_DbTable_User(); $lastUserId = $usersDbModel->getLatestUserId(); $this->view->lastUserId = $lastUserId; In the view I then echo it to display it to the user: echo $this->lastUserId; However, even though my last id in the users table is 3. It displays 0. I have also tried: public function getLatestUserId() { $sql = 'SELECT max(id) FROM user'; $query = $this->query($sql); $result = $query->fetchAll(); return $result; } But this just throws out a server error. What have I done wrong? Am I missing something? Is there another way of doing this?

  • Zend_Dojo_Form not rendering in layout

    Hi, I have a quick question about adding Zend_Dojo_Form into Zend_layouts. I have a Zend_Dojo_Form that I want to display in the layout that is used for a particular controller. I can add the form to the layout without any issue however the dojo elements fail to render, as they would do if I added the form to a standard view. Is there any reason why this would be the case? Do I need to do something to the layout so that it will enable the components for this embedded form in the layout. Any other dojo enabled forms that are added in the view using this layout work fine. My form is created in the usual way: class QuickAddJobForm extends Zend_Dojo_Form{ public function init(){ $this->setName('quickaddjobfrm') ->setMethod('post') ->setAction('/addjob/start/); /*We now create the elements*/ $jobTitle = new Zend_Dojo_Form_Element_TextBox('jobtitle', array( 'trim' => true ) ); $jobTitle->setAttrib('style', 'width:200px;') ->addFilter('StripTags') ->removeDecorator('DtDdWrapper') ->removeDecorator('HtmlTag') ->removeDecorator('Label'); .... $this->addElements(array($jobTitle, ....)); In the controller I declare the layout and the form in the init function: public function init(){ $this->_helper->layout->setLayout('add-layout'); $form = new QuickAddJobForm(); $form->setDecorators(array(array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'quickAddJobFormDecorator.phtml')))); $this->_helper->layout()->quickaddjob = $form; In my layout Where I want the form I have: echo $this->layout()->quickaddjob; Why would adding this form in the layout fail to render/add the Dojo elements?     I use the USA International keyboard layout. Every time I log in, the USA layout gets added to my list of layouts, which causes the keyboard layout indicator to be displayed. How can I stop the USA layout from being added? Additional info: I'm running Natty. Until recently, I had all four layout slots filled. Recently I changed from SCIM to iBus. With this change, I no longer need multiple layouts since iBus better handles my needs. So, I don't want both indicators (iBus and Keyboard layout) showing up.

For example if the user sets its keyboard layout to en-us , I need a bash command that prints me this. How can I get that information? Update: setxkbmap -query is unfortunatelly not working.   • Stateless layout switching in Ubuntu 14.04

    I use extensively two keyboard layouts (latin for English, and cyrillic for Ukrainian and Russian), and it bothers me to experience my mode errors because of the additional bit of UI state: the current layout. I used to eliminate them completely by using stateless layout switching, whereby one has no next layout action (as such an action is based on the current state, which is easy to forget for the user, and so leads to errors), rather only two actions: enable latin layout; enable cyrillic layout. This was trivially accomplishable in pre-Saucy releases. As illustrated on the screenshot above. However, that settings window was destroyed in Saucy. How do I get my stateless switching now?

  • Switch keyborad layout hotkeys don't work on lockscreen

    I've recently upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 which has a known bug that makes it impossible to change keyboard layout via Alt+Shift. I installed this patch which made it possible to switch layouts again. The problem I'm facing now is that it is still impossible to switch keyboard layout when I lock (Ctrl+Alt+L) system and press Alt+Shift. This way if I lock system with wrong layout enabled, I can't switch it to enter the password and unlock PC. I can still change layout by clicking on the layout indicator. I'll be thankful for suggestions on solving this.

  • GWT layout panels vs. CSS layout

    I read an article entitled "Tags First GWT", in which the writer suggests using GWT for event-handling, and CSS for layout. I just don't know whether the benefit of GWT's cross-browser compatibility goodness outweighs the flexibility offered by pure CSS layout. GWT GWT 2.0 has some snazzy layout panels, but to get them to resize properly you really need to build the entire panel containment tree from the root panel down. It's an all-or-nothing thing, it seems. CSS You can use CSS to layout an application too, and I'm inclined to do just that, if only to justify my purchase of several books touting the 'semantic markup' gospel. The downside might be cross-browser incompatibilities, the prevalence of which I have yet to determine. Which way to go? What is your opinion? Are cross-browser problems bad enough, and prevalent enough, to warrant ditching my CSS books, and building with GWT layout panels?
