  • Trying to send XML via EMail and the XML includes a byte[]

    Hello All, I want to send an email that has a machine readable part you cut and paste into an asp.net page and you get the information. I have stored all the information in an object and then used an XMLSerizer to create some xml. It all worked fine until I added some Images as byte[] to the object. If I dump the resulting string to disk then I can recreate the object fine but after it appears in the email client and I try to cut and paste it it never works. Clearly there are non standard characters coming out that email clients don't like. Is there some encoding I could apply to my XML that would make it display correctly in an email client? Then I could cut, paste, decode and deserilize to get my object back. Please an example of how to encode the string in c# would be great.

    I am working outside of magento store root folder (1.4) and I would like to get customers order totals, and date of last order. I have started with this: $customer = Mage::getModel('customer/customer')->load($entity_id); $customerTotals =Mage::getResourceModel('sales/sale_collection') ->setCustomerFilter($customer) ->load() ->getTotals(); echo $customerTotals->getNumOrders(); echo money_format('$%i',$customerTotals->getLifetime()); This seems to be giving me totals from the wrong customer... Also, can't quite figure out how to get customers last order day. any help would be appreciated.

  • Shrink a Volume Group in LVM / Linux in order to install Windows on the freed space

    I have a Volume Group with Unused space. This 40Gig should become an entidy in order to install Microsoft windows 7 on it. I do not have extra space on the drive - that is why I want to shrink the VG! LVG berta resides on sda2 and consists of lv_root lv_swap unused_space I want it to become lv_root lv_swap and have a seperate entidy made out of unused_space. Microsoft Windows 7 has to get installed on this entidy. I do not understand why Linux made simple things complicated. I utterly hate LVM and think its absolute bollocks.   • MySQL select query result set changes based on column order

    I have a drupal 7 site using the Views module to back-end site content search results. The same query with the same dataset returns different results from MySQL 5.5.28 to MySQL 5.6.14. The results from 5.5.28 are the correct, expected results. The results from 5.6.14 are not. If, however, I simply move a column in the select statement, the query returns the correct results. Here is the code-generated query in question (modified for readability).   • Nginx order of servers

    I have 3 sites on my server. All are running on gunicorn and use unix sockets to communicate with nginx which routes requests. If they are ordered as config for site1 goes first, and then goes config for site2 and site3 everything works good. But when I change the order for example to site2, site1, site3, then site1 becomes routed to site2. What am I doing wrong?   • SATA disks boot order?

    I have a computer with 4 SATA disks connected, 2 to the motherboard and 2 to a PCI-card. I've moved all the disks from other computers so 2 of them already has windows installed, the other 2 has just had data on them. I know one of the windows installations works and i want to use this install. If i only have this disk connected the computer boots fine. The problem is that when i boot with all 4 disks connected i get an error message about not being able to boot. This message is in swedish(the wrong windows installation is swedish) so it has to come from that installation. Ok, that means it is trying to boot from wrong disk, i try to pull out that disk but then i get the same error in english. I pull out the fourth disk instead I get another error about NTLDR not being able to load. If i disconnect all drives except the one with the correct windows installation, windows boots fine and i can also connect the other drives while windows is running and browse around in them without any problems. I have no clue what to do. In my BIOS setup i can only select SATA as boot-option, not the order of the disks. I also tried to remove what's left of windows on the other disk by simply deleting everything in explorer(got hidden- and sytstem-files visible). Both windows installations are XP btw. Edit: I switched the cables around and now it magically works. :)

It doesn't issue any warnings, but prints out nothing. $order = 'columnName'; $direction = 'ASC'; $stmt = $db->prepare("SELECT field from table WHERE column = :my_param ORDER BY :order :direction"); $stmt->bindParam(':my_param', $is_live, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->bindParam(':order', $order, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->bindParam(':direction', $direction, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->execute(); The :my_param works, but not :order or :direction. Is it not being internally escaped correctly? Am I stuck inserting it directly in the SQL?   • Sorting results by a char(1) column

    I have a stored procedure which basically does something like select top 1 expiryDate, flag, (bunch of other columns) from someTable (bunch of joins) order by expiryDate desc So this will grab the record that expires last. This works for most cases, except some records have a flag that are just a char(1). Most of the time it's just Y or N. So it'll return something like 2010-12-31 N 2010-10-05 Y 2010-08-05 N 2010-03-01 F 2010-01-31 N This works, most of the time, but is there any way to order it by the Flag column as well? So I'd want to group the results by Y, then N, and F and any other flags can go last in any order. I thought this would just be an order by, but since the flags are not weighted by the alphabetic value, I'm a little stumped. (Note: These are not my tables, I don't know if using the characters like this was a good idea or not, but it's not something I can change).

    I've got an enumeration in my game. A simple string message with an appended PacketType is being sent with the message (so it knows what to do with the message) over GameKit WIFI connection. I used Apple's GKRocket sample code as a starting point. The code itself is working fantastically; I just want to understand what the line with CFSwapInt32HostToBig is doing. What on earth does that do? and why does it need to do it? My guess is that it's making sure the PacketType value can be converted to an unsigned integer so it can send it reliably, but that doesn't sound all that correct to me.   • Query to MySQL from c# returns System.Byte[]

    I am using the below SP to return the value of Generated Insert statement and it works fine when executed in Query browser. When i try to get the value from C#, it give's me "System.Byte[]" as return value. When i try to get the value from MySql query browser, it give's me return value as : 'insert into admindb.accounts values("54321","2","karthik2","karthik2","1");' I guess the problem is with the single quotes of the returned value. Is it so ?     Hello All, Short Desc: I'm curious to see if I can use SQL Analysis services or some other MS SQL service to mine some data for me that will show commonalities between SQL TEXT fields in a dataset. Long Desc I am looking at a subset of data that consists of about 10,000 rows of TEXT blobs which are used as a notes column in a issue tracking (ticketing) software. I would like to use something out of the box (without having to build something) that might be able to parse through all of the rows and find commonly used byte sequences in the "Notes" column. In other words, I want to find commonly used phrases (two to three word phrases, so 9 - 20 character sections of the TEXT blob). This will help me better determine if associate's notes contain similar phrases (troubleshooting techniques) that we could standardize in our troubleshooting process flow. Closing Note I'd really rather not build an application to do this as my method will probably not be the most efficient way to do it. Hopefully all this makes sense.     At some point in my program the user selects a bitmap to use as the background image of a Panel object. When the user does this, the program immediately draws the panel with the background image and everything works fine. When the user clicks "Save", the following code saves the bitmap to a DataTable object. MyDataSet.MyDataTableRow myDataRow = MyDataSet.MyDataTableRow.NewMyDataTableRow(); //has a byte[] column named BackgroundImageByteArray using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream()) { this.Panel.BackgroundImage.Save(stream, ImageFormat.Bmp); myDataRow.BackgroundImageByteArray = stream.ToArray(); } Everything works fine, there is no out of memory exception with this stream, even though it contains all the image bytes. However, when the application launches and loads saved data, the following code throws an Out of Memory Exception: using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(myDataRow.BackGroundImageByteArray)) { this.Panel.BackgroundImage = Image.FromStream(stream); } The streams are the same length. I don't understand how one throws an out of memory exception and the other doesn't. How can I load this bitmap? P.S.   • Hashing 11 byte unique ID to 32 bits or less

    I am looking for a way to reduce a 11 byte unique ID to 32 bits or fewer. I am using an Atmel AVR microcontroller that has the ID number burned in at the factory, but because it has to be transmitted very often in a very low power system I want to reduce the length down to 4 bytes or fewer. The ID is guaranteed unique for every microcontroller. It is made up of data from the manufacturing process, basically the coordinates of the silicone on the wafer and the production line that was used. They look like this: 304A34393334-16-11001000 314832383431-0F-09000C00 Obviously the main danger is that by reducing these IDs they become non-unique. Unfortunately I don't have a large enough sample size to test how unique these numbers are. Having said that because there will only be tens of thousands of devices in use and there is secondary information that can be used to help identify them (such as their approximate location, known at the time of communication) collisions might not be too much of an issue if they are few and far between. Is something like MD5 suitable for this? My concern is that the data being hashed is very short, just 11 bytes. Do hash functions work reliably on such short data?
