  • exchange web service C# code send email from home

    - by KK
Is it possible to write C# code as below and send email using my home network? I have a valid user name and password on that exchange server. Is there any configuration that I can set to achieve this? BTW this code blow works when I run it within office network. I want this code to work when run from any network. String cMSExchangeWebServiceURL = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["MSExchangeWebServiceURL"]; String cEmail = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["Cemail"]; String cPassword = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["Cpassword"]; String cTo = (String)System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["CTo"]; ExchangeServiceBinding esb = new ExchangeServiceBinding(); esb.Timeout = 1800000; esb.AllowAutoRedirect = true; esb.UseDefaultCredentials = false; esb.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(cEmail, cPassword); esb.Url = cMSExchangeWebServiceURL; ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback += delegate(object sender1, X509Certificate certificate, X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) { return true; }; // Create a CreateItem request object CreateItemType request = new CreateItemType(); // Setup the request: // Indicate that we only want to send the message. No copy will be saved. request.MessageDisposition = MessageDispositionType.SendOnly; request.MessageDispositionSpecified = true; // Create a message object and set its properties MessageType message = new MessageType(); message.Subject = subject; message.Body = new TestOutgoingEmailServer.com.cogniti.mail1.BodyType(); message.Body.BodyType1 = BodyTypeType.HTML; message.Body.Value = body; message.ToRecipients = new EmailAddressType[3]; message.ToRecipients[0] = new EmailAddressType(); //message.ToRecipients[1] = new EmailAddressType(); //message.ToRecipients[2] = new EmailAddressType(); message.ToRecipients[0].EmailAddress = "[email protected]"; message.ToRecipients[0].RoutingType = "SMTP"; //message.CcRecipients = new EmailAddressType[1]; //message.CcRecipients[0] = new EmailAddressType(); //message.CcRecipients[0].EmailAddress = toEmailAddress.ElementAt(1).ToString(); //message.CcRecipients[0].RoutingType = "SMTP"; //There are some more properties in MessageType object //you can set all according to your requirement // Construct the array of items to send request.Items = new NonEmptyArrayOfAllItemsType(); request.Items.Items = new ItemType[1]; request.Items.Items[0] = message; // Call the CreateItem EWS method. • Hyper-V + RRAS NAT + Port Forwarding + RDP, can I get it all working together?

    - by Tom Bull
I am running a Windows 2008 R2 server with various services running natively and two virtualised servers running on Hyper-V. The hardware server, I'm going to call it REAL1, has one external NIC, to which I can assign any of the following IP addresses: 1.2.3.4, 1.2.3.5, 1.2.3.6, etc... I need to achieve the following: I would like to be able to connect to REAL1 via remote desktop (RDP / port 3389) on one IP address (say 1.2.3.4), but also to the virtualised servers (I'm going to call them VIRTUAL1 and VIRTUAL2) on the other available IP addresses (say 1.2.3.5 and 1.2.3.6). The easiest way of doing this is to connect the virtual servers directly to the external interface and assign them each their own IP address. REAL1 will have 1.2.3.4, VIRTUAL1 will have 1.2.3.5 and VIRTUAL2 will have 1.2.3.6. Unfortunately, although I don't directly manage the two virtual servers, I have responsibility for their security. I would like to have some kind of firewall between the virtual servers an the internet. I have tried running a virtual machine firewall, but have found the performance on Hyper-V pretty terrible. The alternative I am now trying is Routing and Remote Access (RRAS): I have set up a virtual network called 'Internal' and REAL1 has a virtual network adapter connected to this virtual network I have connected each of the virtual servers to this network too I have assigned each server static IP addresses on this virtual network (REAL1 has 10.1.1.1, VIRTUAL1 has 10.1.1.2 and VIRTUAL2 has 10.1.1.3) I have installed RRAS and set up a NAT. The external interface is the external NIC, the internal interface is the virtual NIC connected to the internal network I have assigned all the available external IP addresses to the external NIC on REAL1. The virtual servers have been set up appropriately such that their default gateway is pointing to 10.1.1.1 and they can both access externally. Success! The RRAS is routing packets. The problem I have is that when I try to port forward services from the external IP address on REAL1, it only works if there is not already a service bound to the port. Remote desktop 'greedily' binds to every available IP address on port 3389 on REAL1 so I can't selectively forward incoming traffic for 1.2.3.5:3389 to 10.1.1.2:3389. RRAS will allow me to set up this port forwarding, and no errors come up. It just doesn't work. So the question I have is: Is there a better way of doing this? Or at least is there a way of resolving the apparant conflict between RRAS and everything else on the physical server?

  • JavaMail application won't send email to external SMTP server

    - by Luiz Cruz
This is actually a question from an exam, but I believe it could help others troubleshooting a similar situation. In a system, an e-mail needs to be sent to a certain mailbox. The following Java code, which is part of a larger system, was developed for that. Assume that "example.com" corresponds to a valid registered internet domain. public void sendEmail(){ String s1=”Warning”; String b1=”Contact IT support.”; String r1=”[email protected]”; String d1=”[email protected]”; String h1=”mx.intranet”; Properties p1 = new Properties(); p1.put(“mail.host”, h1); Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(p1, null); MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(session); try { message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(r1)); message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, new InternetAddress(d1)); message.setSubject(s1); message.setText(b1); Transport.send(message); } catch (MessagingException e){ System.err.println(e); } } The execution of this code, within the testing environment of an application server, does NOT work as expected. The mailbox of the "example.com" server never receives the email, even tough all string values in the code are correctly attributed. The output for the command "netstat -np TCP" in the application server during execution is shown bellow: Src Add Src Port Dest Add Dest Port State 192.168.5.5 54395 192.168.7.1 25 SYN_SENT 192.168.5.5 54390 192.168.7.1 110 TIME_WAIT 192.168.5.5 52001 200.218.208.118 80 CLOSE_WAIT 192.168.5.5 52050 200.218.208.118 80 ESTABLISHED 192.168.5.5 50001 200.255.94.202 25 TIME_WAIT 192.168.5.5 50000 200.255.94.202 25 ESTABLISHED With the exception of the lines that were NAT'd, all others are associated with the Java application server, which created them after the execution of the code above. The e-mail server used in this environment is the production server, which is online and does not require any authentication for internal connections. Based on this situation, point out three possible causes for the problem.

  • How do I create email addresses for all my users using my domain ([email protected])?

    - by user33012
My client wants to create email addresses for all their dotnetnuke users using their domain. The point is to keep the user's email addresses 'private' while still allowing communication through a public email address that they can control. It's not necessary to have a full webmail interface (although that would be nice). I'm thinking it would be enough just to forward any mail on and just act as a gateway. So if an email was sent to [email protected], it would be forwarded on to the email address associated with the dotnetnuke account with username 'rwain'. Is this possible to do in a shared hosting environment? Or do I need to create some custom mail server that does a conversion of the email address and forwards it?

  • Do you know a script for email round trip monitoring?

    - by crazyfr
Do you know a simple script that can do email round trip monitoring ? I want to monitor email service on A. I install the script on B. B sends an email to A A sends an auto-reply to B B knows that email service is working well. B restarts this test every 30min. If B didn't received replies, it sends an alert message. B could also monitor round-trip delay of emails. I have not access to the email service, I can only ask new end user email and configure auto-reply. B is an Ubuntu. Thanks!

  • How to hide website's real address

    - by Nick
I'm building a website for public use. It's a sharing website - everyone is allowed to download specific content, but I want to make sure nobody knows where all the files are kept, so I've decided to use URL Forwarding, e.g. when someone visits fakesite.com, it returns realsite.com without revealing/redirecting to realsite.com. Question: I don't know how to make this work. Please help me by explaining how to use URL Forwarding! Thanks!

  • Email sent from Centos end up in user spam folder

    - by oObe
I am facing this issue, I use the default postfix MTA in centos but the mail end up in user spam folder, but this does not seem to be a problem in Debian using exim4, both host have hostname and domain name configured, and relay mail through external smtp host. Both configuration and recieving email header are attached. The different seems that Debian has this additional (envelope tag) and (from) tag other than some minor syntax differences. Any help to resolve is appreciated. The IP address and DNS is masked as follow: 1.2.3.4 = My IP address smtp.host.com = external smtp host for my company [email protected] = account at smtp host centos.abc.com = Local centos server debian.abc.com = Local debian server Thanks. • What decent email client would you recommend (at least better than Thunderbird)?

    - by matteo
I've used Thunderbird for years. I keep a huge number of emails. I move them to folders to organize or archive them, but I don't delete anything so I have hundreds of thousands of messages. I like the way TB is conceived, and the way it works as long as the volume of data is small. But it just doesn't scale. It has a lot of ridiculous design flaws such that, for example, any time consuming operation blocks the whole UI completely (and you don't even know for how long) as if everything was implemented in a single monolythic all-tasks-are-blocking way. I'm tired of it. So what is the alternative that you would recommend as an email client program with all the usual basic features one expects from any email client program? Important: I mainly use POP3, much much more than IMAP, and my main account is on gmail. This question is not intended to be a rant against TB (I admit it is, as a side effect); I have highlighted its weaknesses BECAUSE the answer I'm looking for is a recomendation for a program that doesn't suffer from these issues.

  • Can Mailchimp APIs be used to send templated transaction email triggered by actions on my website?

    - by HenryW
    I am currently playing around with Mailchimp's APIs, but the documentation to me is not very clear. Here is what I actually want: Have the templates I created on Mailchimp, be visible on my own server. Assign each template I made to a specific action (logged in,subscribed, created order, or new password). This is functionality that I already tested with Mandrill, but the template exists on mandrill's account. If option 1 is not possible, can I still make my own template in my own environment, and send that template out over Mailchimp or Mandrill? Should I use Mailchimps services for this or send the email directly from my own server? Curent used function: function tep_mandrill_mail($to_name, $to_email_address, $email_subject, $email_text, $from_email_name, $from_email_address) { if (SEND_EMAILS != 'true') return false; $uri = 'https://mandrillapp.com/api/1.0/messages/send-template.json'; $postString = '{ "key": "xxxxxxxxxxx", "template_name": "sometemplatename", "template_content": [ { "name": "header", "content": "*|HEADERSTUFF|*" }, { "name": "main", "content": "*|CONTENTSTUFF|*" }, { "name": "footer", "content": "*|FOOTERSTUFF|*" } ], "message": { "subject": "'.$email_subject.'", "from_email": "'.$from_email_adress.'", "from_name": "'.$from_email_name.'", "to": [ { "email": "'.$to_email_address.'", "name": "'.$to_name.'" } ], "important": false, "track_opens": true, "merge": true, "merge_vars": [ { "rcpt": "'.$to_email_address.'", "vars": [ { "name": "HEADERSTUFF", "content": "'.$email_subject.'" }, { "name": "CONTENTSTUFF", "content": "'.$email_text.'" }, { "name": "FOOTERSTUFF", "content": "paulvale-foot" } ] } ], "tags": [ "password_forgotten" ] }, "async": false, "ip_pool": "Main Pool" }'; $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $uri); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, true ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $postString); curl_exec($ch); }

  • What kind of redirect (301 or 302) for an email links tracker?

    - by MaxiWheat
We are developing an email sending application ("à la" Mailchimp). Hyperlinks inserted by our users, in the emails they want to send, are replaced by a tracking URL on our application (https://ourdomain.com/trackingurl?blablabla) which then redirects the email reader to the original URL our users included in their emails. This allows us to record statistics about link clicks. Until now, we used 301 for those redirections, but we noticed that Google began indexing pages on our application which are in fact redirects to other domains. (The title and snippet in Google results are from the other domain, but the link in green is from our application). We took action by adding those urls to our robots.txt, but Google seems to take forever (months!) before removing them for its index and removing them by hand in Webmaster Tools would take a lot of time since there are lot. I would like to know which kind of HTTP redirect (301 or 302) is best suited for this kind of opreation ? Do you think switching to 302 redirects could improve this situation since we don't really want Google to index redirected links from our clients emails ?

  • Forward emails from specific domain in Exchange

    - by neildeadman
Our Exchange server handles emails for @ourdomain.com (for example). We have multiple clients that will send emails to our [email protected] email address and we want to configure server-side rules that will forward emails from each client's domain to a different email address within our exchange server. For example: [email protected] sends an email to [email protected] and we forward it to [email protected] [email protected] sends an email to [email protected] and we forward it to [email protected] ...and so on. It would be nice if we can additionally stop the email arriving in the [email protected] mailbox, but that is not a specific requirement. We have a rule setup in Outlook that sort of works, but it doesn't do all from a domain only specific email addresses. It does work when Outlook is not running which is a start. I realise it would be easier to give each client a partiuclar email address and have them email straight to that rather than all use the same, but this is what I have been asked to setup.... :S

  • Does Exchange support plussed users (e.g. [email protected]) or a similar mechanism?

    - by Jens Bannmann
Sendmail supports a feature called 'plussed users'. Once enabled, emails sent to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] are automatically delivered just like mails to [email protected]. There is no need to register or set up these 'plus suffixes'. The user can just use them and set up client-side filtering rules on his own. Does Exchange support a similar mechanism? If so, how to enable it? Note that I don't want answers about other means of filtering, e.g. spam/junk filtering, server-side or client-side rules, email aliases/addresses that are configured explicitly and so on.

  • How do I create a rule in Outlook 2010 that moves emails without special headers to a folder?

    - by burnersk
I like to create a rule in Outlook 2010 that moves emails not containing a special string within the email header field message-id to a folder. How to do that? Pattern: not contains "SPECIAL-STRING". Example E-Mail: ... Date: Fri, 1 Sep 2012 11:16:32 +0100 Message-ID: <bla.bla.bla@SPECIAL-NOT-STRING> MIME-Version: 1.0 ... Hi there :) Pattern matches because "SPECIAL-STRING" is not present (note there is a "NOT" between the words). Automatically moves those emails to folder INBOX/other-mails.

  • Cloud service to receive up to 30000 emails a minute

    - by David
I am building a business where I want the infrastructure to be able to handle up to 30000 emails per minute during peak periods. The question is what kinds of services offer this? I expect to download the emails using SMTP or similar. I expect each email to have a total attachment size of 2 mb, and might have several attachments. I have considered utilizing Parse API from SendGrid, but I am worried because they offer this service for free. I have contacted them and I am waiting for answer. Are there any better and more suitable alternatives?

What I have is: Some content [email protected], some http://www.somewebsite/someurl.aspx. What I'd like to do is create a function that automatically encloses all email addresses and all URLs withing a string in HREF tags so that the HTML email reads properly in all email clients. Does anyone have a function for this?

  • How can a Postfix/Dovecot(ssl)/Apache/Roundcube(non-ssl) setup leak email addresses?

    - by Jens Björnhager
I have a linux box email server with Postfix as the MTA, Dovecot as the IMAP server and Apache with Roundcube as webmail. In my /etc/postfix/aliases I have just above a hundred different aliases which makes as many email addresses on my domain. I use one address per website so I easily can shut down spam infested addresses. During the half a year or so that I have had this setup, I have received 3 spam from 2 sources. As I know exactly where I entered this address, it should be easy to pinpoint email leaking websites and services. However, these sources are, according to me, not likely email sellers. And for one of them to sell my email twice? I contacted one of the sources and they are adamant that their system is tight. They suggested the possibility that it is my server that is doing the leaking. So, my question is: How likely is it that my box is leaking email addresses, and how?
