  • Getting expired domain name - most effective route?

    There is a domain name I have been wanting for years that was used as a parked page (read: cybersquatted) that has entered into WHOIS's redemptionPeriod stage. The domain has been expired for 61 days now - after contacting the Registar, they informed me that it would stay in redemption for 75 days. After which, it would either be sold to resellers, or sent back to the public registry. (I have since sent a followup message requesting the reseller they use.) My question is: What is the best way to proceed? I know there is at least one competitor that would love to have this name, but I'm unsure if they even know it's expiring. I did not tell the Registar the domain in question, as they seem geared towards cybersquatting, and I do not trust them. Domain Front Running sucks. Should I use a backorder service? Should I just take my chances and try to grab it after75 days? I checked an auctionhouse by manually browsing their expired domains - it wasn't there.

    I need to start building an Android app that uses the JUCE libraries. I'm reading the web site and trying to figure stuff out. I tried installing JUCE on an Ubuntu 11.04 system, and when I built the IntroJucer app, the menus don't work right (they flash open when I click with the mouse but then disappear). Can a JUCE app for Android be built on Mac OS X, or even Windows? If you are using JUCE to build Android apps, please give me any advice you can.

    I'm trying to make a character in 2.5 platformer (in UDK) to "climb" a giant tree trunk by walking on a spiral staircase enveloped around the tree. When character goes right the tree rotates thru matinee sequence so it seems that the character is moving while in reality it is the tree that moves. I connected the matinee sequence playrate to the velocity of the character and its all good as long the character just moves left or right. When it jumps though, the velocity still affects the playrate - it should not as character moves up/down, not right/left. How do I set it up in Kismet so I get a float variable with velocity only in the X plane (horizontal)?

    How to get the current time in milliseconds? I'm working on a hacking simulation game and when ever someone connects to another computer/NPC, a login screen popups with a button on the side called BruteForce. When BruteForce is clicked, what i want the program to do is, calculate how many seconds cracking the password is going to take based on the player's CPU speed but that's the easy part. The hard part is i want to enter a character in the password's box every X milliseconds based on a TimeToCrack divided by PasswordLength formula. But since i don't know how to find how many milliseconds have elapsed since the second has passed, the program waits until the CurrentTime is higher than the TimeBeforeTheLoopStarted + HowLongItTakesToTypeaCharacter which is always going to be a second. How would you handle my problems?     I have recently installed ubuntu 12.04 in sony vaio VPCEH. And updated all the available updates through update manager. When i switch on the bluetooth/wireless (hardware switch), only the bluetooth is turning on. For wireless, it shows as "hardware disabled". P.S: It was working fine few days before. Suddenly It is not turning on. i just get an answer for this question while googling. just enter the following command in the terminal. "sudo rfkill unblock all" This will unblock all hardware ports. that's it!!!!!! :) It works,..
