Asp.net Mvc configurable Html.ActionLink controller/method

Hello everybody, I have ascx partial view with html-layout like that <%=Html.ActionLink<PersonController>(x => x.Publications(param1, param2, ... )) %> My ascx is pretty big & I'd like to reuse it, changing controller/method in Html.ActionLink with another controller/method. Method of another controller has the same signature as PersonController.Publications. Please, suggest me the best way how to make controller/method configurable for my layout. Thank you in advance

A Question About Embedding HTML In PHP

Hello all Some time ago I read a posting on a board where the person was talking poorly about people that have HTML embedded/within their PHP. I do quite a bit of PHP development but I still interleave HTML and PHP in the same document. Is there a better way to do this, am I doing it wrong? I know that in JSP/JSF they use an XML document with namespaces to insert their HTML code so I was wondering if there was a similar function that PHP uses that I should be taking advantage of. Using images and css file for a generated HTML UIWebView

Hi! I'm generating an HTML file for an app, and in this HTML file there's a link to a stylesheet and one to an image. Here's what I tried so far: NSMutableString *toReturn = [NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:100]; NSString *cssPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"etapes.css" ofType:nil]; [toReturn appendFormat:@"<html><head><title></title><link href=\"%@\" media=\"all\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" /></head><body>", cssPath]; It generates the right full path to the right file, this is okay if I want to access it on my mac, but on the simulator or my iPhone it doesn't point to the right place at all... Do you have any idea of how could I make this? Thanks

How to convert an HTML table to an array in python

I have an html document, and I want to pull the tables out of this document and return them as arrays. I'm picturing 2 functions, one that finds all the html tables in a document, and a second one that turns html tables into 2-dimensional arrays. Something like this: htmltables = get_tables(htmldocument) for table in htmltables: array=make_array(table) There's 2 catches: 1. The number tables varies day to day 2. The tables have all kinds of weird extra formatting, like bold and blink tags, randomly thrown in. Thanks!

Hi all, I have used wmd-editor in my cakephp v1.3 application. The config which I have written is as follows: wmd_options = { output: "HTML", lineLength: 40, buttons: "bold italic | link blockquote code image | ol ul heading hr", autostart: true }; When I submit the form the HTML in the wmd enabled textarea is saved in the database with htmlentities() done to the text then I am displaying it with html_entity_decode() method. but the text is displayed as it is including the HTML coding like this <p><strong>hello dear friends</strong></p>\n\n<pre><code>I want to make sure that everything that you type is visible clearly.\nadasfafas\n</code></pre>\n\n<blockquote>\n <p>sadgsagasdgxcbxcbxc</p>\n</blockquote>\n\n<p><em>sadfgsgasdsgasgs</em></p>\n\n<p><b><a href="http://kumu.in">this is the link</a></b></p> Please help me solve this problem Thanks

Problem with HTML inside Javascript

I am trying to implement 'time-ago' feature in my website using a JQuery timeago plugin. The problem is that the code above doesn't work, but if I put it within this div it works fine. I think it is maybe because this jquery plugin is applied before generating html by javascript, but I am not sure. Any ideas?

I want to remove all html content from a string except for a div class : <div class="toto">blablabla</div> Should I use a Regex or DOM Parser? To answer drachenstern : It's a comment content with bbcode. And the html in this div is generated with Geshi (code highlighter) so i don't want to delete this. For example a visitor can enter <script></script> in a [code][/code] bbcode tag. All HTML outside the [code][/code] bbcode tag must be delete no?

I've read about it from the php website (http://us3.php.net/manual/en/language.basic-syntax.phpmode.php) Using: echo "<html tag>" is slower and also annoying because you got to escape char like " with \" But what's about using $output = <<< EOF <html code> EOF; Then later on in the code I can use $output .= <<< EOF <some more html code> EOF; then when I want to print it: echo "$output"; I think it's a great idea, but really wonder what you PHP guru think about it. IE6 SELECT HTML tag causes rest of page to vanish

The following HTML does not work in IE6 for me: <html><body>This text is visible.<textarea>This too.</textarea> This is not visible. <select><option value="a">A</option><option value="b">B</option></select> Neither is this. <textarea>Nor this.</textarea> Nor this. </body></html> In IE6, every time I put a select drop-down in the code, everything thereafter dissappears (and some before too, as you can see). All texts are visible in both IE8 and Firefox. Is this a known bug on IE6? Could it have something to do with Windows 7? Or could it be my installation of Internet Explorer Collection 1.6.0.6 that is flawed?

FCKEditor breaking HTML forms

I'm in the process of reproducing some standalone HTML forms as pages in a CMS that uses FCKEditor by simply copying and pasting the relevant code into the editor. But when I save and view the page, the HTML has been changed and the tag has been moved up to just below the open tag -- and not at the bottom of the form. This obviously renders all of the fields in the form, including the submit button, useless. Is there a way to tell FCKEditor that I know what I'm doing and I don't need it to validate the HTML output? Unfortunately this is a hosted CMS service (actually part of an email blast tool) so making changes to the configuration will mean I need to go through the company's support system, which is fine -- but they haven't been able to solve it for me yet, so I'm hoping to get the answers for them. I use $('#output').text($('#container').html()); But IE6 outputs all the code in uppercase: <TABLE> <TR> <TD>test</TD> </TR> </TABLE> How can I convert HTML tags to lowercase using jQuery? Would be useful to have a plugin that could recursively go trough the DOM-tree.

Transform PDF to HTML, keep layout

What methods are there to transform a PDF to HTML? It could be anything - online service, software, library. (Opensource preferred. In the last case, php or python would be preferred.) It has to keep the original layout (including page numbers, footnotes and such), keep the images (combining them to one single background image per page is acceptable) and keep the links. It should preferably output valid XHTML and clean up PDF features such as ligatures, but if there is some post-processing required, I can live with that. Something with a clean, relatively semantic HTML output would be great. The closest one I found was zamzar.org, but it choked on links. (Also, the HTML output is an ugly heap of absolutely positioned divs and needs post-processing because of encoding problems.)

ASP.net MVC: Getting a Partial View's HTML from inside of the controller

I have developed a simple mechanism for my mvc website to pull in html via jquery which then populates a specified div. All is well and it looks cool. My problem is that i'm now creating html markup inside of my controller (Which is very easy to do in VB.net btw) I'd rather not mix up the sepparation of concerns. Is it possible to use a custom 'MVC View User Control' to suit this need? Can I create an instance of a control, pass in the model data and render to html? It would then be a simple matter of rendering and passing back to the calling browser.

Invisible Delimiter for Strings in HTML

I need a way to identify certain strings in HTML markup. I know what the strings are, but it is possible that they could be substrings of other strings in the document. To find them, I output a special delimiter character (currently using \032). On page load, we go through the HTML and record the location of the strings, and remove the delimiter. Unfortunately, most browsers show the delimiter character until we can find and remove them all. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Is there a character or string that will be preserved in the HTML content (so a comment wont work) but wont be visible to the user? It also needs to be something that is fairly unlikely to appear next to a string, so something like   wouldn't work either. EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to mention that the strings will be in attributes, so any sort of tag wont work.
