  • jQuery dialog box, php form.

    - by tony noriega
    i have a dialog box that opens on pageload for a site. script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('#dialog-message').dialog({ modal: 'true', width: '400' }); }); </script> this pulls up an include: <div id="dialog-message" title="Free Jiu Jitsu Session at Alliance"> <!--#include virtual="/includes/guest.php" --> guest.php has a very small form that is processed by the page itself: <?php $dbh=mysql_connect //login stuff here if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { if (!$_POST['name'] | !$_POST['email']) { echo"<div class='error'>Error<br />Please provide your Name and Email Address so we may properly contact you.</div>"; } else { $age = $_POST['age']; $name = $_POST['name']; $gender = $_POST['gender']; $email = $_POST['email']; $phone = $_POST['phone']; $comments = $_POST['comments']; $query = "INSERT INTO table here (age,name,gender,email,phone,comments) VALUES ('$age','$name','$gender','$email','$phone','$comments')"; mysql_query($query); mysql_close(); $yoursite = "my site here"; $youremail = $email; $subject = "Website Guest Contact Us Form"; $message = "message here"; $email2 = "send to email address"; mail($email2, $subject, $message, "From: $email"); echo"<div class='thankyou'>Thank you for contacting us,<br /> we will respond as soon as we can.</div>"; } } ?> <form id="contact_us" class="guest" method="post" action="/guest.php" > <fieldset> <legend>Personal Info</legend> <label for="name" class="guest">Name:</label> <input type="text" name="name" id="name" value="" /><br> <label for="phone" class="guest">Phone:</label> <input type="text" name="phone" id="phone" value="" /><br> <label for="email" class="guest">Email Address:</label> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" value="" /><br> <label for="age" class="guest">Age:</label> <input type="text" name="age" id="age" value="" size="2" /><br> <label for="gender" class="guest">Sex:</label> <input type="radio" name="gender" value="male" /> Male <input type="radio" name="gender" value="female" /> Female<br /> </fieldset> <fieldset> <legend>Comments</legend> <label for="comments" class="guest">Comments / Questions:</label> <textarea id="comments" name="comments" rows="4" cols="22"></textarea><br> <input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submit" /> <input type="Reset" value="Reset" /> </fieldset> </form> Problem is, that the path of the form action does not work, becasue this dialog box is on the index.html page of the site, and if i put the absolute path, it doesnt process... i have this functioning on another contact us page, so i know it works, but wit the dialog box, it seems to have stumped me... what should i do?

  • Why is my PHP query executing twice on page load?

    - by user1826238
    I am newish to PHP and I seem to be having an issue with an insert statement that executes twice when I open this page to view a document. In the database the 2nd insert is 1 second later. It happens in google chrome only and on this page only. IE has no issue, I dont have firefox to check. view_document.php <?php require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/../includes/core.php'); require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/../includes/connect.php'); $webusername = $_SESSION['webname']; if (isset($_GET['document'])) { $ainumber = (int) $_GET['document']; if (!ctype_digit($_GET['document']) || !preg_match('~^[0-9]+$~',$_GET['document']) || !is_numeric($_GET['document'])) { $_SESSION = array(); session_destroy(); header('Location: login.php'); } else { $stmt = $connect->prepare("SELECT s_filename, s_reference FROM dmsmain WHERE s_ainumber = ?") or die(mysqli_error()); $stmt->bind_param('s', $ainumber); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->bind_result($filename, $reference); $stmt->fetch(); $stmt->close(); $file = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/../dms/files/'.$filename.'.pdf'; if (file_exists($file)) { header('Content-Type: application/pdf'); header('Content-Disposition: inline; filename='.basename($file)); header('Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary'); header('Content-Length: ' . filesize($file)); header('Accept-Ranges: bytes'); readfile($file); $stmt = $connect->prepare("INSERT INTO dmslog (s_reference, s_userid, s_lastactivity, s_actiontype) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?)") or die(mysqli_error()); date_default_timezone_set('Africa/Johannesburg'); $date = date('Y-m-d H:i:s'); $actiontype = 'DL'; $stmt->bind_param('ssss', $reference, $webusername, $date, $actiontype); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->close(); } else { $missing = "<b>File not found</b>"; } } } ?> My HTTP access records I assume [15/Nov/2012:10:14:32 +0200] "POST /dms/search.php HTTP/1.1" 200 5783 "http://www.denso.co.za/dms/search.php" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.64 Safari/537.11" [15/Nov/2012:10:14:33 +0200] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 404 - "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.64 Safari/537.11" [15/Nov/2012:10:14:34 +0200] "GET /dms/view_document.php?document=8 HTTP/1.1" 200 2965 "http://www.denso.co.za/dms/search.php" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.64 Safari/537.11" [15/Nov/2012:10:14:35 +0200] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 404 - "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/23.0.1271.64 Safari/537.11" I have checked my <img src=''> links and I dont see a problem with them. The records indictate there is a favicon.ico request so I created a blank favicon and placed it in my public_html folder and linked it in the page like so <link href="../favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" /> Unfortunately that did not work as the statement still executes twice. I am unsure if it is a favicon issue as my upload page uses an insert query and it executes once. If someone could please tell me where I am going wrong or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful

    Here I have a problem in this code .. I want to specify the 4 values in each page .. But I can not ... So far there is a problem, I think, in limit <?php if(!isset($_GET["page"])) { $page=1; include ("connect.php"); } else { $page= intval($_GET['page']); } $max=4; $from=($max*$page)- $max; $sql = mysql_query("select * from uploads,members,rooms where uploads.MemberID = members.MemberID and uploads.RoomID = rooms.RoomID and UploadCategory='L' order by UploadID desc limit $from,$max "); $num_sql = mysql_num_rows($sql); ?> <table width="400" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td><form name="form1" method="post" action=""> <div align="center"> <table width="400" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#CCCCCC"> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF">&nbsp;</td> <td colspan="4" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <p align="center"><font size="4"> file</font></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">#</td> <td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><strong>member</strong></td> <td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><strong> Name</strong></td> </tr> </div> <?php //$sql1 = mysql_query("select * from book order by id desc limit $from,$max "); //$num_sql1 = mysql_num_rows($sql1); $pages=ceil($num_sql/$max); $num = mysql_num_rows($sql); //$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM book order by id"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) { ?> <tr> <td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><input name="checkbox[]" type="checkbox" id="checkbox[]" value="<?php echo $row['UploadID']; ?>"></td> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <?php echo $row[MemberName].   • APACHE2.2/WIN2003(32-bit)/PHP: How do I configure Apache to Run Background PHP Processes on Win 2003

    - by Captain Obvious
    I have a script, testforeground.php, that kicks off a background script, testbackground.php, then returns while the background script continues to run until it's finished. Both the foreground and background scripts write to the output file correctly when I run the foreground script from the command line using php-cgi: C:\>php-cgi testforeground.php The above command starts a php-cgi.exe process, then a php-win.exe process, then closes the php-cgi.exe almost immediately, while the php-win.exe continues until it's finished. The same script runs correctly but does not have permission to write to the output file when I run it from the command line using plain php: C:\>php testforeground.php AND when I run the same script from the browser, instead of php-cgi.exe, a single cmd.exe process opens and closes almost instantly, only the foreground script writes to the output file, and it doesn't appear that the 2nd process starts: http://XXX/testforeground.php Here is the server info: OS: Win 2003 32-bit HTTP: Apache 2.2.11 PHP: 5.2.13 Loaded Modules: core mod_win32 mpm_winnt http_core mod_so mod_actions mod_alias mod_asis mod_auth_basic mod_authn_default mod_authn_file mod_authz_default mod_authz_groupfile mod_authz_host mod_authz_user mod_autoindex mod_cgi mod_dir mod_env mod_include mod_isapi mod_log_config mod_mime mod_negotiation mod_setenvif mod_userdir mod_php5 Here's the foreground script: <?php ini_set("display_errors",1); error_reporting(E_ALL); echo "<pre>loading page</pre>"; function run_background_process() { file_put_contents("0testprocesses.txt","foreground start time = " . time() . "\n"); echo "<pre> foreground start time = " . time() . "</pre>"; $command = "start /B \"{$_SERVER['CMS_PHP_HOMEPATH']}\php-cgi.exe\" {$_SERVER['CMS_HOMEPATH']}/testbackground.php"; $rp = popen($command, 'r'); if(isset($rp)) { pclose($rp); } echo "<pre> foreground end time = " . time() . "</pre>"; file_put_contents("0testprocesses.txt","foreground end time = " . time() . "\n", FILE_APPEND); return true; } echo "<pre>calling run_background_process</pre>"; $output = run_background_process(); echo "<pre>output = $output</pre>"; echo "<pre>end of page</pre>"; ?> And the background script: <?php $start = "background start time = " . time() . "\n"; file_put_contents("0testprocesses.txt",$start, FILE_APPEND); sleep(10); $end = "background end time = " . time() . "\n"; file_put_contents("0testprocesses.txt", $end, FILE_APPEND); ?> I've confirmed that the above scripts work correctly using Apache 2.2.3 on Linux. I'm sure I just need to change some Apache and/or PHP config settings, but I'm not sure which ones. I've been muddling over this for too long already, so any help would be appreciated.

  • SimpleXMLElement (PHP) throwing error on XML root attributes

    - by Greg
    I am working on a project that will take XML data submitted through a textarea input in a form then extract the data and throw it into a database. I am getting errors about the attribute in the root field of my XML (it is the same schema each time, but with different values). If i remove these attributes it works fine, but I don't want to have to remove these attributes each I time I go to send the data to the script. here is a sample of my data and code I am using (the part that is giving me errors): <raid generatedFrom="HeadCount" version="1.7.4"> --snip-- </raid> If I post the data as such, i get errors such as: Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: Entity: line 1: parser error : AttValue: " or ' expected in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: <raid generatedFrom=\"HeadCount\" version=\"1.7.4\"> in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: ^ in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: Entity: line 1: parser error : attributes construct error in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: <raid generatedFrom=\"HeadCount\" version=\"1.7.4\"> in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: ^ in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: Entity: line 1: parser error : Couldn't find end of Start Tag raid line 1 in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: <raid generatedFrom=\"HeadCount\" version=\"1.7.4\"> in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: ^ in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: Entity: line 1: parser error : Extra content at the end of the document in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: <raid generatedFrom=\"HeadCount\" version=\"1.7.4\"> in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct() [function.SimpleXMLElement---construct]: ^ in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'String could not be parsed as XML' in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php:13 Stack trace: #0 /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php(13): SimpleXMLElement->__construct('<raid generated...') #1 {main} thrown in /home/content/g/V/i/gViscardi/html/guilds/sanctum/headcount.php on line 13 If I remove the attributes from the root node then it works fine with no errors. • Flex/PHP/XML data issue

    - by reado
    I have built a simple application in Flex. When the application loads, a GET request is made to the xmlService.php file with parameters "fetchData=letters". This tells the PHP to return the XML code. In Flex Debug I can see the XML data being sent by the PHP to the flex client. What I need it to do is populate the first drop down box (id="letter") with this data, however nothing is being received by Flex. I added an Alert.show() to check what was being returned but when the application runs, the alert is blank. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. • Themes outside application.

    - by Marek
    Hi all I read http://forum.kohanaframework.org/comments.php?DiscussionID=5744&page=1#Item_0 and I want to use similar solution, but with db. In my site controller after(): $theme = $page->get_theme_name(); //Orange Kohana::set_module_path('themes', Kohana::get_module_path('themes').'/'.$theme); $this->template = View::factory('layout') I checked with firebug: fire::log(Kohana::get_module_path('themes')); // D:\tools\xampp\htdocs\kohana\themes/Orange I am sure that path exists. I have directly in 'Orange' folder 'views' folder with layout.php file. But I am getting: The requested view layout could not be found Extended Kohana_Core is just: public static function get_module_path($module_key) { return self::$_modules[$module_key]; } public static function set_module_path($module_key, $path) { self::$_modules[$module_key] = $path; } Could anybody help me with solving that issue? Maybe it is a .htaccess problem: # Turn on URL rewriting RewriteEngine On # Put your installation directory here: # If your URL is www.example.com/kohana/, use /kohana/ # If your URL is www.example.com/, use / RewriteBase /kohana/ # Protect application and system files from being viewed RewriteCond $1 ^(application|system|modules) # Rewrite to index.php/access_denied/URL RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [PT,L] RewriteRule ^(media) - [PT,L] RewriteRule ^(themes) - [PT,L] # Allow these directories and files to be displayed directly: # - index.php (DO NOT FORGET THIS!) # - robots.txt # - favicon.ico # - Any file inside of the images/, js/, or css/ directories RewriteCond $1 ^(index\.php|robots\.txt|favicon\.ico|static) # No rewriting RewriteRule ^(.*)$ - [PT,L] # Rewrite all other URLs to index.php/URL RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [PT,L] Could somebody help? • Twitter Bootstrap modal spans, side-by-side divs and "control-group"?

    - by Federico Stango
    I'm trying my best to have a good looking modal login form but for some reasons it seems that no matter how I nest divs, I cannot obtain the proper shape. What I need is a big "lock" image side-by-side with a username/password form. The best I could do adds a horizontal scroller by the modal bottom and shows the input gadgets fairly distant from the image partly hidden on the right side of the modal canvas. Inspecting with FireBug it seems that the spans in row-fluid are ok but the "control-label" and "controls" class adds way too much space on the left by width (for the labels) and margin-left (for the controls). How would you solve it? Am I doing something wrong with divs and classes nesting? This is the current modal without the main wrapper as it gets added by some js code that loads modal contents through ajax: <form class="form-horizontal" id="login" name="login" method="post" action="<?php echo site_url('user/login'); ?>"> <div class="modal-header"> <button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-hidden="true">&times;</button> <h3>Login</h3> </div> <div class="modal-body"> <?php if ( isset($error) ) { ?> <div class="row"> <div class="alert alert-error"> <strong>Warning!</strong> <?php echo $error; ?> </div> </div> <?php } ?> <div class="row-fluid"> <div class="span4"> <img src="skins/frontend/base/images/lock.png" width="96px" height="96px" /> </div> <div class="span8"> <div class="control-group"> <label class="control-label" for="email">Email</label> <div class="controls"><input type="text" placeholder="Type your email" id="email" name="email" /></div> <?php echo form_error('email', '<div id="error_email" class="alert alert-error">* ', '</div>'); ?> </div> <div class="control-group"> <label class="control-label" for="password">Password</label> <div class="controls"><input type="password" placeholder="Password" id="password" name="password" /></div> <?php echo form_error('password', '<div id="error_password" class="alert alert-error">* ', '</div>'); ?> </div> <div class="control-group"> <div class="controls"><label class="checkbox inline"><input type="checkbox" id="remember" name="remember" checked="checked" />&nbsp;Remember Me</label></div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="modal-footer"> <button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary">Login</button> </div> </form> Just don't take into account the php code you see... :) Thanks in advance for all the support you can give!   • PHP: Strange Date Problem

    - by Me-and-Coding
    Hi, I have two users in my database whose birth date is set to: 1985-01-26 And then i have function which when provided the users' date, tells how many days are left in the birthday. Here is the function: function retage($iy,$im,$id) { if(!empty($iy)>0 && intval($im)>0 && intval($id)>0) { $tdo=$iy.'-'.$im.'-'.$id; $tdc=date('Y').'-'.$im.'-'.$id; /*echo "<br/>";*/ $cd=date('Y-n-j'); /*echo "<br/>";*/ if(strtotime($tdc)>strtotime($cd))//coming { $ty=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($tdo))/(3600*24*365)); $td=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)); if($td==1) { $td=round((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)).' day to go'; } else { $td=round((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)).' days to go'; } $ty='<font color="#C7C5C5">is turning '.$ty.' on <br>'.date('M jS Y',strtotime($tdc)).'</font>'; //return 'is turning '.$ty.' on '.$tdc; } elseif(strtotime($tdc)<strtotime($cd))//past { $ty=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($tdo))/(3600*24*365)); if($ty>0) { //$td='gone '.floor((strtotime($cd)-strtotime($tdc))/(24*3600)).' days ago'; $ndays=floor((strtotime($cd)-strtotime($tdc))/(24*3600)); if($ndays==1) $td=' gone '.round((strtotime($cd)-strtotime($tdc))/(24*3600)).' day ago'; else $td=' gone '.round((strtotime($cd)-strtotime($tdc))/(24*3600)).' days ago'; $ty='<font color="#C7C5C5">had turned '.$ty.' on <br>'.date('M jS Y',strtotime($tdc)).'</font>'; //return 'had turned '.$ty.' on '.$tdc; } else { $tdc=(date('Y')+1).'-'.$im.'-'.$id; $ty=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($tdo))/(3600*24*365)); //$td=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)).' days to go'; $td=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)); if($td==1) { $td=round((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)).' day to go'; } else { $td=round((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($cd))/(24*3600)).' days to go'; } $ty='<font color="#C7C5C5">is turning '.$ty.' on <br>'.date('M jS Y',strtotime($tdc)).'</font>'; //return 'is turning '.$ty.' on '.$tdc; } } else//today { $ty=floor((strtotime($tdc)-strtotime($tdo))/(3600*24*365)); if($ty>0) { $td='today'; $ty='<font color="#C7C5C5">has turned <br>'.$ty.' on today </font>'; //return 'has turned '.$ty.' on today'; } else { $ty='<font color="#C7C5C5">today</font>';$td=''; //return ''; } } } else { $ty='';$td=''; //return ''; } $ta[0]=$ty; $ta[1]=$td ; return $ta; } I use below code to show the days remaining: while($rs=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { if (isset($rs['byear'],$rs['bmonth'],$rs['bdate'])) { $tmptxt = retage($rs['byear'],$rs['bmonth'],$rs['bdate']); echo $tmptxt[1]; } } The strange thing is that for one user, the days remaining is shown correctly eg: gone 120 days ago And for other user having same birth date, this is shown: Jan 1st 1970 -14755 days to go Strange: When I use the same function outside of the loop and test with date 1985-01-26, the correct result is shown. Note: You can check out the function for yourself. Could you please tell what could be wrong there, your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Why does my Ajax function returns my entire code?

    - by JDelage
    I'm playing with sample code from the book "Head first Ajax". Here are the salient pieces of code: Index.php - html piece: <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="thumbnailPane"> <img src="images/itemGuitar.jpg" width="301" height="105" alt="guitar" title="itemGuitar" id="itemGuitar" onclick="getDetails(this)"/> <img src="images/itemShades.jpg" alt="sunglasses" width="301" height="88" title="itemShades" id="itemShades" onclick="getDetails(this)" /> <img src="images/itemCowbell.jpg" alt="cowbell" width="301" height="126" title="itemCowbell" id="itemCowbell" onclick="getDetails(this)" /> <img src="images/itemHat.jpg" alt="hat" width="300" height="152" title="itemHat" id="itemHat" onclick="getDetails(this)" /> </div> <div id="detailsPane"> <img src="images/blank-detail.jpg" width="346" height="153" id="itemDetail" /> <div id="description"></div> </div> </div> </body> Index.php - script: function getDetails(img){ var title = img.title; request = createRequest(); if (request == null) { alert("Unable to create request"); return; } var url= "getDetails.php?ImageID=" + escape(title); request.open("GET", url, true); request.onreadystatechange = displayDetails; request.send(null); } function displayDetails() { if (request.readyState == 4) { if (request.status == 200) { detailDiv = document.getElementById("description"); detailDiv.innerHTML = request.responseText; }else{ return; } }else{ return; } request.send(null); } And Index.php: <?php $details = array ( 'itemGuitar' => "<p>Pete Townshend once played this guitar while his own axe was in the shop having bits of drumkit removed from it.</p>", 'itemShades' => "<p>Yoko Ono's sunglasses. While perhaps not valued much by Beatles fans, this pair is rumored to have been licked by John Lennon.</p>", 'itemCowbell' => "<p>Remember the famous \"more cowbell\" skit from Saturday Night Live? Well, this is the actual cowbell.</p>", 'itemHat' => "<p>Michael Jackson's hat, as worn in the \"Billie Jean\" video. Not really rock memorabilia, but it smells better than Slash's tophat.</p>" ); if (isset($_REQUEST['ImageID'])){echo $details[$_REQUEST['ImageID']];} ?> All this code does is that when someone clicks on a thumbnail, a corresponding text description appears on the page. Here is my question. I have tried to bring the getDetails.php code inside Index.php, and modify the getDetails function so that the var url be "Index.php?ImageID="... . When I do that, I get the following problem: the function does not display the snippet of text in the array, as it should. Instead it reproduces the entire code - the webpage, etc - and then at the bottom the expected snippet of text. Why is that?

  • Simple PHP upload form not working

    - by Lea
    Hi all, I seem to run into so many issues when dealing with writing to directories. If someone could please look over this script, and tell me why it's not working, I'd be so appreciative. Upon uploading the file from the form, I don't get anything.. It doesnt output any errors, it simply just refreshes. Thanks, Lea <?php include ('config.php'); if( isset($_POST['submit']) ) { $target = ''.$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/images/'; $target = $target . basename( $_FILES['photo']['name']) ; $url = basename( $_FILES['photo']['name']) ; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['photo']['tmp_name'], $target)) { $moved = "File has been moved to location $target"; $name = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['photoname']); mysql_query("INSERT INTO photos (photo_name, photo_image) VALUES ('$name', '$url' )") or die(mysql_error()); $success = "Photo has been added!"; } else { $moved = "File has not been moved to $target"; $success = "Failed to upload:("; } } ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Photo Upload</title> <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" /> <meta name="keywords" content="" /> <meta name="description" content="" /> <link href="<?php echo $globalurl; ?>styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div class="holder"> <br /><br /> <b>Add a new photo</b> <hr /> <br /> <b><?php echo "$success<br />"; ?> <?php echo "$moved<br />"; ?></b> <form enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" action="<?php echo $PHP_SELF; ?>"> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="500px"> <tbody> <tr> <td valign="top">Photo Name:</td> <td valign="top"> <input type="text" name="photoname" /><br /> <br /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top">Photo:</td> <td valign="top"> <input type="file" name="photo"><br /> <br /> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <input type="submit" value="submit" /> </form> </div> </body> </html>

  • How can I turn a SimpleXML object to array, then shuffle?

    - by Joshua Cody
    Crux of my problem: I've got an XML file that returns 20 results. Within these results are all the elements I need to get. Now, I need to return them in a random order, and be able to specifically work with item 1, items 2-5, and items 6-17. Idea 1: Use this script to convert the object to an array, which I can shuffle through. This is close to working, but a few of the elements I need to get are under a different namespace, and I don't seem to be able to get them. Code: /* * Convert a SimpleXML object into an array (last resort). * * @access public * @param object $xml * @param boolean $root - Should we append the root node into the array * @return array */ function xmlToArray($xml, $root = true) { if (!$xml->children()) { return (string)$xml; } $array = array(); foreach ($xml->children() as $element => $node) { $totalElement = count($xml->{$element}); if (!isset($array[$element])) { $array[$element] = ""; } // Has attributes if ($attributes = $node->attributes()) { $data = array( 'attributes' => array(), 'value' => (count($node) > 0) ? xmlToArray($node, false) : (string)$node // 'value' => (string)$node (old code) ); foreach ($attributes as $attr => $value) { $data['attributes'][$attr] = (string)$value; } if ($totalElement > 1) { $array[$element][] = $data; } else { $array[$element] = $data; } // Just a value } else { if ($totalElement > 1) { $array[$element][] = xmlToArray($node, false); } else { $array[$element] = xmlToArray($node, false); } } } if ($root) { return array($xml->getName() => $array); } else { return $array; } } $thumbfeed = simplexml_load_file('http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos?q=skadaddlemedia&max-results=20&orderby=published&prettyprint=true'); $xmlToArray = xmlToArray($thumbfeed); $thumbArray = $xmlToArray["feed"]; for($n = 0; $n < 18; $n++){ $title = $thumbArray["entry"][$n]["title"]["value"]; $desc = $thumbArray["entry"][0]["content"]["value"]; $videoUrl = $differentNamespace; $thumbUrl = $differentNamespace; } Idea 2: Continue using my working code that is getting the information using a foreach, but store each element in an array, then use shuffle on that. I'm not precisely sure hwo to write to an array within a foreach loop and not write over one another, though. Working code: foreach($thumbfeed->entry as $entry){ $thumbmedia = $entry->children('http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/') ->group ; $thumb = $thumbmedia->thumbnail[0]->attributes()->url; $thumburl = $thumbmedia->content[0]->attributes()->url; $thumburl1 = explode("http://www.youtube.com/v/", $thumburl[0]); $thumbid = explode("?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata", $thumburl1[1]); $thumbtitle = $thumbmedia->title; $thumbyt = $thumbmedia->children('http://gdata.youtube.com/schemas/2007') ->duration ; $thumblength = $thumbyt->attributes()->seconds; } Ideas on if either of these are good solutions to my problem, and if so, how I can get over my execution humps? Thanks so much for any help you can give.

  • I can't upload mp3 files using Codeigniter

    - by Drew
    There are lots of suggested fixes for this but none of them work for me. I have tried making the upload class (using the following methods: http://codeigniter.com/forums/viewthread/148605/ and http://codeigniter.com/forums/viewthread/125441/). When i try to upload an mp3 i get the error message "The filetype you are attempting to upload is not allowed". Below is my code for my model and my form (i've got a very skinny controller). If someone could help me out with this I would be eternally grateful. --Model-- function do_upload() { $soundfig['upload_path'] = './uploads/nav'; $soundfig['allowed_types'] = 'mp3'; $this->load->library('upload', $soundfig); if ( ! $this->upload->do_upload()) { $error = array('error' => $this->upload->display_errors()); return $error; } else { /* $data = $this->upload->data('userfile'); */ $sound = $this->upload->data(); /* $full_path = 'uploads/nav/' . $data['file_name']; */ $sound_path = 'uploads/nav/' . $sound['file_name']; if($this->input->post('active') == '1'){ $active = '1'; }else{ $active = '0'; } $spam = array( /* 'image_url' => $full_path, */ 'sound' => $sound_path, 'active' => $active, 'url' => $this->input->post('url') ); $id = $this->input->post('id'); $this->db->where('id', $id); $this->db->update('NavItemData', $spam); return true; } } --View - Form-- <?php echo form_open_multipart('upload/do_upload');?> <?php if(isset($buttons)) : foreach($buttons as $row) : ?> <h2><?php echo $row->name; ?></h2> <!-- <input type="file" name="userfile" size="20" /><br /> --> <input type="file" name="userfile" size="20" /> <input type="hidden" name="oldfile" value="<?php echo $row->image_url; ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<?php echo $row->id; ?>" /> <br /><br /> <label>Url: </label><input type="text" name="url" value="<?php echo $row->url; ?>" /><br /> <input type="checkbox" name="active" value="1" <?php if($row->active == '1') { echo 'checked'; } ?> /><br /><br /> <input type="submit" value="submit" /> </form> <?php endforeach; ?> <?php endif; ?>

    Hallo I want to make an file upload. The script should take the image, resize it and upload it. But it seems that there is any unknown to me error in the upload. • Need help displaying a dynamic table

    - by Gideon
    I am designing a job rota planner for a company and need help displaying a dynamic table containing the staff details. I have the following tables in MySQL database: Staff, Event, and Job. The staff table holds staff details (staffed, name, address...etc), the Event table (eventide, eventName, Fromdate, Todate...etc) and the Job table holds (Jobid, Jobdate, Eventid(fk), Staffid (fk)). I need to dynamically display the available staff list from the staff table when the user selects the EVENT and the DATE (3 drop downs: date, month, and year) from a PHP form. I need to display staff members that have not been assigned work on the selected date by checking the Jobdate in the Job table. I have been at this for all day and can't get around it. I am still learning PHP and would surely appreciate any help I can get. My current code displays all staff members when an event is selected: if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $eventId = $_POST['eventradio']; } $timePeriod = $_POST['timeperiod']; $Day = $_POST['day']; $Month = $_POST['month']; $Year = $_POST['year']; $dateValue = $Year."-".$Month."-".$Day; $selectedDate = date("Y-m-d", strtotime($dateValue)); //construct the available staff list if ($selectedDate) { $staffsql = "SELECT s.StaffId, s.LastName, s.FirstName FROM Staff s WHERE s.StaffId NOT IN (SELECT J.StaffId FROM Job J WHERE J.JobDate != ".$selectedDate.")"; $staffResult = mysql_query($staffsql) or die (mysql_error()); } if ($staffResult){ echo "<p><table cellspacing='1' cellpadding='3'>"; echo "<th colspan=6>List of Available Staff</th>"; echo "</tr><tr><th> Select</th><th>Id</th><th></th><th>Last Name </th><th></th><th>First Name </th></tr>"; while ($staffarray = mysql_fetch_array($staffResult)) { echo "<tr onMouseOver= this.bgColor = 'red' onMouseOut =this.bgColor = 'white' bgcolor= '#FFFFFF'> <td align=center><input type='checkbox' name='selectbox[]' id='selectbox[]' value=".$staffarray['StaffId']."> </td><td align=left>".$staffarray['StaffId']." </td><td>&nbsp&nbsp</td><td align=center>".$staffarray['LastName']." </td><td>&nbsp&nbsp</td><td align=center>".$staffarray['FirstName']." </td></tr>"; } echo "</table>"; } else { echo "<br> The Staff list can not be displayed!"; } echo "</td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td></td>"; echo "<td align=center><input type='submit' name='Submit' value='Assign Staff'>&nbsp&nbsp"; echo "<input type='reset' value='Start Over'>"; echo "</td></tr>"; echo "</table>";

  • php, mySQL & AJAX: Unable to use sessions across the scripts in the same domain

    - by Devner
    Hi all, I have the following pages: page1.php, page2.php and page3.php. Code in each of them is as below CODE: page1.php <script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){ $('#imgID').upload({ submit_to_url: "page2.php", file_name: 'myfile1', description : "Image", limit : 1, file_types : "*.jpg", }) }); </script> <body> <form action="page3.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" name="frm1" id="frm1"> //Some other text fields <input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </body> page2.php <?php session_start(); $a = $_SESSION['a']; $b = $_SESSION['b']; $c = $_SESSION['c']; $res = mysql_query("SELECT col FROM table WHERE col1 = $a AND col2 = $b AND col3 = $c LIMIT 1"); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($res); echo $num_rows; //echos 0 when in fact it should have been 1 because the data in the Session exists. //Ok let's proceed further //... Do some stuff... //Store some more values and create new session variables (and assume that page1.php is going to be able to use it) $_SESSION['d'] = 'd'; $_SESSION['e'] = 'e'; $_SESSION['f'] = 'f'; if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['file']['tmp_name'], $file)) { echo "success"; } else { echo "error ".$_FILES['file']['error']; } ?> page3.php <?php session_start(); if( isset($_POST['submit']) ) { //These sessions are non-existent although the AJAX request //to page2.php may have created them when called via AJAX from within page1.php echo $_SESSION['d'].$_SESSION['e'].$_SESSION['f']; ?> } ?> As the code says it I am posting some info via AJAX call from page1.php to page2.php. page2.php is supposed to be able to use the session values from page1.php i.e. $_SESSION['a'], $_SESSION['b'] and $_SESSION['c'] but it does not. Why? How can I fix this? page2.php is creating some more sessions after some processing is done and a response is sent back to page1.php. The submit button of the form on page1.php is hit and the page gets POST'ed to page3.php. But when the SESSION info that gets created in page2.php is echoed, it's blank signifying that SESSIONS from page2.php are not used. How can I fix this? I looked over a lot of information and have spent about 50 hours trying to do different things with my scripts before arriving at the above conclusions. My app. is custom made using function (not OOPS) and does not use any PHP frameworks & I am not even about to use any as my knowledge of OOP concepts is limited any many frameworks are object oriented. I came across race conditions, but the solutions provided don't help too much. One more solution of using DB to hold sessions and seek and retrieve from DB is the last thing on my mind and I really want to avoid creating table, coding and maintaining code for a task as simple as just keeping sessions across pages in the same domain. So my request is: Is there a way that I can solve the above problem(s) via simple coding in present conditions? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

  • User Getting Logged Out After Making First Comment

    - by John
    Hello, I am using a login system that works well. I am also using a comment system. The comment function does not show up unless the user is logged in (as shown in commentformonoff.php below). When a user makes a comment, the info is passed from the function "show_commentbox" to the file comments2a.php. Then, the info is passed to the file comments2.php. When the site is first pulled up on a browser, after logging in and making a comment, the user is logged out. After logging in a second time during the same browser session, the user is no longer logged out after making a comment. How can I keep the user logged in after making the first comment? • MySQL access classes in PHP

    - by Mike
    I have a connection class for MySQL that looks like this: class MySQLConnect { private $connection; private static $instances = 0; function __construct() { if(MySQLConnect::$instances == 0) { //Connect to MySQL server $this->connection = mysql_connect(MySQLConfig::HOST, MySQLConfig::USER, MySQLConfig::PASS) or die("Error: Unable to connect to the MySQL Server."); MySQLConnect::$instances = 1; } else { $msg = "Close the existing instance of the MySQLConnector class."; die($msg); } } public function singleQuery($query, $databasename) { mysql_select_db(MySQLConfig::DB, $this->connection) or die("Error: Could not select database " . MySQLConfig::DB . " from the server."); $result = mysql_query($query) or die('Query failed.'); return $result; } public function createResultSet($query, $databasename) { $rs = new MySQLResultSet($query, MySQLConfig::DB, $this->connection ) ; return $rs; } public function close() { MySQLConnect::$instances = 0; if(isset($this->connection) ) { mysql_close($this->connection) ; unset($this->connection) ; } } public function __destruct() { $this->close(); } } The MySQLResultSet class looks like this: class MySQLResultSet implements Iterator { private $query; private $databasename; private $connection; private $result; private $currentRow; private $key = 0; private $valid; public function __construct($query, $databasename, $connection) { $this->query = $query; //Select the database $selectedDatabase = mysql_select_db($databasename, $connection) or die("Error: Could not select database " . $this->dbname . " from the server."); $this->result = mysql_query($this->query) or die('Query failed.'); $this->rewind(); } public function getResult() { return $this->result; } // public function getRow() // { // return mysql_fetch_row($this->result); // } public function getNumberRows() { return mysql_num_rows($this->result); } //current() returns the current row public function current() { return $this->currentRow; } //key() returns the current index public function key() { return $this->key; } //next() moves forward one index public function next() { if($this->currentRow = mysql_fetch_array($this->result) ) { $this->valid = true; $this->key++; }else{ $this->valid = false; } } //rewind() moves to the starting index public function rewind() { $this->key = 0; if(mysql_num_rows($this->result) > 0) { if(mysql_data_seek($this->result, 0) ) { $this->valid = true; $this->key = 0; $this->currentRow = mysql_fetch_array($this->result); } } else { $this->valid = false; } } //valid returns 1 if the current position is a valid array index //and 0 if it is not valid public function valid() { return $this->valid; } } The following class is an example of how I am accessing the database: class ImageCount { public function getCount() { $mysqlConnector = new MySQLConnect(); $query = "SELECT * FROM images;"; $resultSet = $mysqlConnector->createResultSet($query, MySQLConfig::DB); $mysqlConnector->close(); return $resultSet->getNumberRows(); } } I use the ImageCount class like this: if(!ImageCount::getCount()) { //Do something } Question: Is this an okay way to access the database? Could anybody recommend an alternative method if it is bad? Thank-you.

  • Problems uploading different file types in codeigniter

    - by Drew
    Below is my script that i'm using to upload different files. All the solutions I've found deal only with multiple image uploads. I am totally stumped for a solution on this. Can someone tell me what it is i'm supposed to be doing to upload different files in the same form? Thanks function do_upload() { $config['upload_path'] = './uploads/nav'; $config['allowed_types'] = 'gif|jpg|png'; $config['max_size'] = '2000'; $this->load->library('upload', $config); if ( ! $this->upload->do_upload('userfile')) { $error = array('error' => $this->upload->display_errors()); return $error; } else { $soundfig['upload_path'] = './uploads/nav'; $soundfig['allowed_types'] = 'mp3|wav'; $this->load->library('upload', $soundfig); if ( ! $this->upload->do_upload('soundfile')) { $error = array('error' => $this->upload->display_errors()); return $error; } else { $data = $this->upload->data('userfile'); $sound = $this->upload->data('soundfile'); $full_path = 'uploads/nav/' . $data['file_name']; $sound_path = 'uploads/nav/' . $sound['file_name']; if($this->input->post('active') == '1'){ $active = '1'; }else{ $active = '0'; } $spam = array( 'image_url' => $full_path, 'sound' => $sound_path, 'active' => $active, 'url' => $this->input->post('url') ); $id = $this->input->post('id'); $this->db->where('id', $id); $this->db->update('NavItemData', $spam); return true; } } } Here is my form: <?php echo form_open_multipart('upload/do_upload');?> <?php if(isset($buttons)) : foreach($buttons as $row) : ?> <h2><?php echo $row->name; ?></h2> <input type="file" name="userfile" size="20" /><br /> <input type="file" name="soundfile" size="20" /> <input type="hidden" name="oldfile" value="<?php echo $row->image_url; ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<?php echo $row->id; ?>" /> <br /><br /> <label>Url: </label><input type="text" name="url" value="<?php echo $row->url; ?>" /><br /> <input type="checkbox" name="active" value="1" <?php if($row->active == '1') { echo 'checked'; } ?> /><br /><br /> <input type="submit" value="submit" /> </form> <?php endforeach; ?> <?php endif; ?>

  • How perform USort() on an Array of Objects class definition as a method?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

  • Submitting a URL into a Form without "http://", with "www.", or with neither

    - by John
    (EDITED) Hello, In the form below, the filed for <div class="urlfield"><input name="url" type="url" id="url" maxlength="500"></div> fine when a URL is submitted that has a "http://" at the beginning of it. However, it doesn't work if a URL is submitted with only a "www." in front of it, or with neither a "http://" nor a "www." How can I make it work in all if the submitted URL has any or none of the following at the beginning of it: http:// www. http://www. Thanks in advance, John Form: echo '<div class="submittitle">Submit an item.</div>'; echo '<form action="http://www...com/.../submit2.php" method="post"> <input type="hidden" value="'.$_SESSION['loginid'].'" name="uid"> <div class="submissiontitle"><label for="title">Story Title:</label></div> <div class="submissionfield"><input name="title" type="title" id="title" maxlength="1000"></div> <div class="urltitle"><label for="url">Link:</label></div> <div class="urlfield"><input name="url" type="url" id="url" maxlength="500"></div> <div class="submissionbutton"><input name="submit" type="submit" value="Submit"></div> </form> '; submit2.php: <?php if($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST"){header('Location: http://www...com/.../submit2.php');} require_once "header.php"; if (isLoggedIn() == true) { $remove_array = array('http://www.', 'http://', 'https://', 'https://www.', 'www.'); $cleanurl = str_replace($remove_array, "", $_POST['url']); $cleanurl = strtolower($cleanurl); $cleanurl = preg_replace('/\/$/','',$cleanurl); $cleanurl = stripslashes($cleanurl); $title = $_POST['title']; $uid = $_POST['uid']; $title = mysql_real_escape_string($title); $title = stripslashes($title); $cleanurl = mysql_real_escape_string($cleanurl); $site1 = 'http://' . $cleanurl; $displayurl = parse_url($site1, PHP_URL_HOST); function isURL($url1 = NULL) { if($url1==NULL) return false; $protocol = '(http://|https://)'; $allowed = '[-a-z0-9]{1,63}'; $regex = "^". $protocol . // must include the protocol '(' . $allowed .
