• ASUS WL-500gP v2 network between two local machines

  I have two windows XP machines in my home networks, connected with ASUS WL-500gp V2 which also used as internet router. Problem is: while I have both computers normally goes to internet (used DHCP, static routes is ON, routing table is empty, operation mode is Home Gateway). I see both computers listed on the Network Neighborhood on 1st computer (wired to router), can enter to my own computer, but can not enter to other. I see only one computer (2nd) on the Network Neighborhood on 2nd computer (connected thru Wi-Fi), can enter to itself, getting error when trying to enter 1st computer address in address line (like \My1stComp). What is the problem? I totally crazy founding problem about 3 months.

• Two NICs, one server.

  I have two NICs on a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Both are config'd be dhcp. Both cards are on the same lan with same gateway. everything about the cards is the same except the IPs they get, which is what I want. What I'm trying to achieve is having both NICs operational at the same time. Currently when the server boots, it activates both NICs, but the server can't resolve any domains. If I ifdown one of them and bring it back up, the server is able to resolve domains, but the NIC I bring up won't respond to any traffic. Any ideas?

• ssl problems between two tomcat servers

  I've got one tomcat 7 server(kind of like a web server) trying to talk to a tomcat 6 server(acting as a document server on another machine) over ssl and keep getting this error java.security.cert.CertificateException: No name matching rarity64 found. Where rarity64 is the name of the document server. I've tried exporting keys from both tomcats keystores and importing them into the others keystores using java keytool. I've even tried adding them to the other machines cacerts keystore. I've also used internet explorer to import both keys into the other machine. But nothing I try works. If it matters the real webserver is IIS 7.5, which the tomcat "webserver" talks too with arr, and they don't use SSL. But the problem seems to between the two tomcat servers

• Sync two external harddrives?

  A little mishap happened earlier today and i am thinking i should have a copy of my external harddrive since 10% of it is very valuable. What is the best solution to keep two external harddrive in sync? i'll probably use one as regular and maybe use the other only to copy data. The easiest way to keep it in sync is to clear one drive and copy the other but 1T of data will take a long time. Whats a good existing app that will keep them in sync? freeware preferred.

  i have a dedicated server, with "Virtuozzo" on it running VPS's. I have: eth0 - which is configured to the internal network, that one is fine. Now I have: eth1 - which has two ranges routed through this device. x.x.134.x (which has 12 IP's sequentially) x.x.132.x (which has 5) eth1: DEVICE="eth1" HWADDR="00:25:90:37:65:67" NM_CONTROLLED="yes" ONBOOT="yes" IPADDR="x.x.134.x" NETMASK="255.255.255.240" GATEWAY="x.x.134.x" I tried using this with another file as well named "ifcfg-eth1:1" in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ any ideas why the containers on eth1:1 would not link up to the network? Virtuozzo also thinks that eth1:1 is the primary network now, which isn't right?

  Hi I would like to setup a local linux file server (using centos and samba) that can be accessed by two independent local networks in the same house. I have 2 networks on the same floor which have Windows 7 computers, but the networks are split as we have 2 internet connections. How do I go about this? Additional info: Currently both the networks use DropBox to send files to each other but that happens via the Internet and hence its slow. Would like to achieve the same locally to increase the speed.

• What is the point of connecting two routers directly together

  The way subnets work, wouldn't connecting two router interfaces together require their own subnet between them. Unless that subnet mask has 31 bits, wouldn't that was adress space. I'm asking because I often seen that done in networking books. How can this be done without wasting IP Addresses? They usually draw this when explaining subnetting. They have a central router connected to several other each one supposed to be creating their own subnet. Is this really how subnettimg is done? Here are some solutions and why they don't fit: rsync: Needs to check recursively all files. There are some million files and only little changes. The check takes too long. unison: the same: needs to check all files. inotify: I need a handler for every directory and there too many. Inotify was not build for "watch all files" scenarios. DRDB: Both sides should run independent.

  I'm hoping you may be able to offer some advice as I'm not very familiar with setting up routers/access points. I have a network of computers on an active directory domain on the 192.NET. I then have another network on the 10.NET that needs to have access to the domain on the 192.NET. I am using cisco/linksys routers. What methodology would you suggest so that these two can communicate and I can add the computers form the 10.NET to the domain?   I have an application that presents a modal UITabBarController. Each UIViewController contained in the UITabBarController implements should autorotate interface orientation. However, when I present the modal UITabBarController the following warnings appear in the console: Using two-stage rotation animation. To use the smoother single-stage animation, this application must remove two-stage method implementations. Using two-stage rotation animation is not supported when rotating more than one view controller or view controllers not the window delegate. Any ideas how to remove the warnings? Thanks.

But I have a different situation and I don't think I'm understanding this to well. I have an Apache 2 server (server1) that will receive http request for my application. Then I have two more servers (server2 and server3) with Web Logic 9.2 runing on ports 7000 (server1) and 8000 (server2). I want the users to enter appname.domain.com and be redirected between the two web logic servers, always keeping appname.domain.com (this is hidding servername:port from URL).   Let's say I have two PDF templates created with Adobe Acrobat, which are both single-page, 8.5x11 documents. The first template (A.pdf) has content for the top half of the page. The second template (B.pdf) has content for the bottom half of the page. (It just so happens the content in both templates does not "overlap" each other.) I would like to use iText to take these two templates and create a single, "merged" template from it (C.pdf) that is only a single page (with A.pdf's content on the top half and B.pdf's content on the bottom half). (I do not want to "merge" these two files into a 2-page document. I need the final product to be a single page.) I will be running iText in a servlet environment (Tomcat 6) but I don't think that makes a difference to the answer. Is this possible?

  Currently I have 2 tables, both of the tables have the same structure and are going to be used in a web application. the two tables are production and temp. The temp table contains one additional column called [signed up]. Currently I generate a single list using two columns that are found in each table (recno and name). Using these two fields I'm able to support my web application search function. Now what I need to do is support limiting the amount of items that can be used in the search on the second table. the reason for this is become once a person is "signed up" a similar record is created in the production table and will have its own recno. doing: Select recno, name from production UNION ALL Select recno, name from temp ...will show me everyone. I have tried: Select recno, name from production UNION ALL Select recno, name from temp WHERE signup <> 'Y' But this returns nothing? Can anyone help?

• MySQL: Count two things in one query?

  I have a "boolean" column in one of my tables (value is either 0 or 1). I need to get two counts: The number of rows that have the boolean set to 0 and the number of rows that have it set to 1. Currently I have two queries: One to count the 1's and the other to count the 0's. Is MySQL traversing the entire table when counting rows with a WHERE condition? I'm wondering if there's a single query that would allow two counters based on different conditions? Or is there a way to get the total count along side the WHERE conditioned count? This would be enough as I'd only have to subtract one count from the other (due to the boolean nature of the column). There are no NULL values. Thanks.

I have two questions. 1) I am using the package pwr and the one way anova function to calculate the necessary sample size using the following code pwr.anova.test(k = , n = , f = , sig.level = , power = ) However, I would like to look at two way anova, since this is more efficient at estimating group means than one way anova. There is no two-way anova function that I could find. Is there a package or routine in [R] to do this? 2) Moreover, am I safe in assuming that since I am using a one-way anova power calculations, that the sample size will be more conservative (i.e. larger)?

For example, imagine a Venn diagram-like intersection of two (equally sized) circles, with center-points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) and radii r1=r2. Additionally, we already know the two points of intersection of the circles are (xi1,yi1) and (xi2,yi2). How would one generate a list of all points (x,y) contained in both circles in an efficient manner?   Hi there, I am a little confused as to how to approach this SQL query. I have two takes (equal number of records), and I would like to return a column with which is the division between the two. In other words, here is my not-working-correctly query: SELECT( (SELECT v FROM Table1) / (SELECT DotProduct FROM Table2) ); How would I do this? All I want it a column where each row equals the same row in Table1 divided by the same row in Table2. The resulting table should have the same number of rows, but I am getting something with a lot more rows than the original two tables. I am at a complete loss. Any advice?
