• Norton Ghost EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available.

  After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem.   I'm writing a function to produce time series plots of stock prices. I get an error if the call to ggplot() is INSIDE the function but not if the call to ggplot() is OUTSIDE the function. Anyone have any idea why the seeming contradiction?

  So I have binded a List to a ListView where the List has items of type Album, where it has lots of properties including .Cover, which I is an image on disk. Well since I don't know what type of image is needed and how they have to be loaded (I only know using Image types for Winforms), I don't know the type yet. Can someone show or post me a quick sample where it shows this sort of items being shown as images of a certain fixed size using their .Cover property? In essence this would show: What type .Cover should be How to open images from disk for WFP (assuming it's different than Winforms image loading) How to show them on a ListView as images of a certain fixed size, scaling the images if necessary

• Problem with Rotating a UIScrollview

  Hey guys, I am having issues trying to get the pageControl sample code to work with rotation. I managed to get it to rotate but it does not visually loads correctly until I start to scroll (then it works fine). Any Idea on how I can fix this problem?   I want to upload some files of size 35MB on to the blob container. I have coded for splitting the data into blocks and upload it on to the blob container and form a blob using PUT. I tested the code for some files of Size 2MB or something... It worked well. But When I tried it for a large MB file, its giving me this error Server Error 404 - File or directory not found. • How to create a new LaTeX command that behaves something like \verb?

  I have been using LaTeX from sometime now, but have never actually gotten my hands dirty declaring a new command, as I try to avoid that. However, I need to add monospace text often in my document and I use \verb for it which is fine, except that the verb font size is bigger than the normal text font. So I need to change the font size and undo done like \small{}\verb#My monospace code#\normalsize{}. This is not very convenient and mistake-prone. Is there a better way to do this? Can I define a new command for this? How?

• BlackBerry Horizontal Scrolling in TreeField or ListField

  I am working on an application that requires text larger than the viewable screen size in both a TreeField and a ListField. As you know, the TreeField and ListField callbacks support only graphics.drawText() methods, so I cannot add an instance of a Field per row. Does anyone have a method of Scrolling horizontally past the viewable text size? Is there maybe a scrollable panel that would work? I know of the NullField(Field.Focusable) trick but this won't work on the list field. Lastly, I am aware that the type of screen makes a different as FullScreen and MainScreen use VerticalFieldMangers. So am using a PopupScreen at the moment for my testing.   Consider a class Book with a stl container of class Page. each Page holds a screenshot, like page10.jpg in raw vector<char> form. A Book is opened with a path to a zip, rar, or directory containing these screenshots, and uses respective methods of extracting the raw data, like ifstream inFile.read(buffer, size);, or unzReadCurrentFile(zipFile, buffer, size). It then calls the Page(const char* stream, int filesize) constructor. Right now, it's clear that the raw data is being copied twice. Once to extract to Book's local buffer and a second time in the Page ctor to the Page::vector<char>. Is there a way to maintain encapsulation while getting rid of the middleman buffer?

• Using FFMPEG to reliably convert videos to mp4 for iphone/ipod and flash players

  I need to convert videos for use in both a flash player and the iphone/ipod touch.   Hi, I have a long text string (including \n newline charactersthat I feed into a UILabel for display. The UILabel is dynamically setup to provide sufficient space foor the text. • Best way to cache resized images using PHP and MySQL

  What would be the best practice way to handle the caching of images using PHP. The filename is currently stored in a MySQL database which is renamed to a GUID on upload, along with the original filename and alt tag. When the image is put into the HTML pages it is done so using a url such as '/images/get/200x200/{guid}.jpg which is rewritten to a php script. This allows my designers to specify (roughly - the source image maybe smaller) the file size. The php script then creates a hash of the size (200x200 in the url) and the GUID filename and if the file has been generated before (file with the name of the hash exists in TMP directory) sends the file from the application TMP directory. If the hashed filename does not exist, then it is created, written to disk and served up in the same manner, Is this efficient as it could be? (It also supports watermarking the images and the watermarking settings are stored in the hash as well, but thats out of scope for this.)

  I have a problem with rendering my html page by the same browsers in different OS. There are 3 spans and position of each span is corrected through css(position:relative). But I have found out that the page that looks correct in firefox under Linux, shows not right at the same firefox(3.5.7) under Windows OS.   Macromedia Flash 8 Question: I have a map of Ireland, just a gif, and there are several small buttons representing various point of interest around Ireland, which are scattered across the map. This part works fine. THE PROBLEM: Dublin is too small to contain all of its points of interest (approx 20). THE SOLUTION OnMouseOver Dublin, I would like Dublin to expand to perhaps 5 or 6 times its original size, and I would like to be able to have Dublins Points Of Interests now displayed within this larger dublin area, which sits on top of the Ireland map. OnMouseOut Dublin, this enlarged Dublin region now shrinks back to its original size. MY QUESTION: How do I implement Dublin?? REQUIREMENTS: 1) The expanded Dublin region shud NOT be clickable, it shud simply be a dublin image on a black background. 2) It must be possible to add additional buttons within this expanded Dublin region.   Hi, I am struggeling with my UIScrollview to get it to zoom-in the underlying UIImageView. • How do I change the frame position for a custom MKAnnotationView?

  I am trying to make a custom annotation view by subclassing MKAnnotationView and overriding the drawRect method. I want the view to be drawn offset from the annotation's position, somewhat like MKPinAnnotationView does it, so that the point of the pin is at the specified coordinates, rather than the middle of the pin. So I set the frame position and size as shown below. However, it doesn't look like I can affect the position of the frame at all, only the size. The image ends up being drawn centered over the annotation position. Any tips on how to achieve what I want?   So I am using the Uplodify plugin to allow users to upload multiple images at once. The problem is I need to set a minimum width and height for images. Let's say 150x150px is the smallest image users can upload. How can I set this limitation in the Uploadify plugin? When user tries to upload smaller picture, I would like to display some error message as well. • CSS div/overflow Question: Why does the first HTML file work but not the second?

  Notice how the first HTML/CSS works when you re-size the browser horizontally. It will shrink no further than around 800 pixels, but it will expand as far as you drag the right edge of the browser. It will also correctly overflow the table at the top and scroll it horizontally. The thing I don't like about the first code snippet is where the scrollbar is. I want it to show up within the borders of the fieldset, so even if I narrow the browser down to 800 pixels wide, I can see both the left and right sides of the fieldset's border. The second code snippet is exactly the same as the first except I add another div tag to the mix, inside of the field set and around the grid. Notice how the top fieldset's width won't correctly shrink when you make the viewport of your browser narrower. Any ideas on why it doesn't work, what I can do to get it to work like the first code snippet? I don't think I'm describing this clearly, but if you run the two side by side, and expand and contract the horizontal edge of your browser windows, you'll see the differences between the two. I'm pretty new to CSS and HTML layout, so my understanding of why CSS handles sizing the way it does in some situations is still really confusing to me.   Hello everyone, i am trying to use mustache.js to render some JSON in the browser. What i want to do is: <li> <span class="label">Location: </span> {{#locations}} {{.}}<span class="social-small-size "></span> {{/locations}} </li> The locations is a js array [["Pendéli, Attiki, Greece", "facebook"], ["Greece", "linkedin"]] Initially i tried to use {{%IMPLICIT-ITERATOR iterator=loc}} in my attempt to split the data in the view. So i the actual rendering code was {{loc[0]}}<span class="social-small-size {{loc[1}}"></span> But that did n t work altough the loop worked and i got 2 spans but without any content. I think the PRAGMA is what I need but I didn 't figure it out. Any hints ? :)

• Figuring out the required MaxReceivedMessageSize in WCF with NetTcpBinding

  I'm using NetTcpBinding in WCF and i want to send a Stream which does not exceed the size of 1 MB. I have set the MaxReceivedMessageSize to a really high number and that works fine of course. But I am curious: Does setting the MaxReceivedMessageSize to a very hight number have any (negative) impact or would it be useful to set it just above the size I actually want to send/receive? What kind of overhead can I expect when using the NetTcpBinding to transfer a stream? Meaning: when I send a stream of 1 MB, how large does my MaxReceivedMessageSize has to be?

• MySQL died during the night on a 12.04.1 Ubuntu

  I can't explain why, but somehow during the night, one of my MySQL running on an Ubuntu 12.04.1 box broke. The service is running but I can't login anymore (to SQL), the previous password is not working anymore. It does not looks like the server has been compromised (nothing in /var/auth.log) It looks like some automatic security upgrade (server is configured to perform those) has occured and broke something. The MySQL server has restarted a couple of times in the logs at the time errors started to happen (I get email when CRON task fail). In the logs it complains about an unset root password (I do have cron job running all day using SQL so the password was set & working for months). Anyway I can't login without password either! Do you have any idea of what could have happened? How do I get my databases back? • Norton Ghost EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available

  After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem.
