• Bluetooth not really "turning on" on a Sony Vaio VPCEG

  On a Sony Vaio VPCEG, bluetooth is not working properly: The gnome-shell bluetooth indicator (at the main bar) shows the bluetooth is on, but when I try to switch visibility on it simply doesn't turn on. When I open the bluetooth configuration dialog, the on/off indicator shows me the bluetooth is off. And when I try to turn it on it simply does not turn on. • How to set form name and id using cakephp FormHelper class?

  I'm trying to create a form using Cakephp's FormHelper class. The form needs to have a name and and an id. I fail to see an option for that however. Looking at the documentation for the Formhelper, I see a lot of things, but not a way to set name and option. It's not in the source for the Formhelper either. How are these values set? Cakephp v1.2 is the version of cake i'm running here EDIT: the form is being submitted to an external destination. It is not a form associated with any model in the app.

• Is it better to build HTML Code string on the server or on the client side?

  The result of the following process should be a html form. This form's structure varies from one to user. For example there might be a different number of rows or there may be the need for rowspan and colspan. When the user chooses to see this table an ajax call is made to the server where the structure of the table is decided from the database. Then I have to create the html code for the table structure which will be inserted in the DOM via JavaScript. The following problem comes to my mind: Where should I build the HTML code which will be inserted in the DOM? On the server side or should I send some parameters in the ajax call method and process the structure there? Therefore the main question involves good practice when it comes to decide between Server side processing or client side processing. Thank you!

• Text Obfuscation using base64_encode()

  I'm playing around with encrypt/decrypt coding in php. Interesting stuff! However, I'm coming across some issues involving what text gets encrypted into. Here's 2 functions that encrypt and decrypt a string. It uses an Encryption Key, which I set as something obscure. I actually got this from a php book. I modified it slightly, but not to change it's main goal. I created a small example below that anyone can test. But, I notice that some characters show up as the "encrypted" string. Characters like "=" and "+". Sometimes I pass this encrypted string via the url. Which may not quite make it to my receiving scripts. I'm guessing the browser does something to the string if certain characters are seen. I'm really only guessing. is there another function I can use to ensure the browser doesn't touch the string? or does anyone know enough php bas64_encode() to disallow certain characters from being used? I'm really not going to expect the latter as a possibility.   How would you change this: a-10-b-19-c into something like this: a-10-b-20-c using regular expressions in PHP? The only solution I've found so far is: reverse the original string - "c-91-b-01-a" find the first number - "91" reverse it - "19" turn in into a number (parseInt) - 19 add 1 to it (+1) - 20 turn it into a string again (toString) - "20" reverse it again - "02" replace the original match with this new number - "c-02-b-01-a" reverse the string - "a-10-b-20-c" I was hoping someone on SO would have a simpler way to do this... Anyone?

• How do I launch a subprocess in C# with an argv? (Or convert agrv to a legal arg string)

  I have a C# command-line application that I need to run in windows and under mono in unix. At some point I want to launch a subprocess given a set of arbitrary paramaters passed in via the command line. For instance: Usage: mycommandline [-args] -- [arbitrary program] Unfortunately, System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo only takes a string for args. This is a problem for commands such as: ./my_commandline myarg1 myarg2 -- grep "a b c" foo.txt In this case argv looks like : argv = {"my_commandline", "myarg1", "myarg2", "--", "grep", "a b c", "foo.txt"} Note that the quotes around "a b c" are stripped by the shell so if I simply concatenate the arguments in order to create the arg string for ProcessStartInfo I get: args = "my_commandline myarg1 myarg2 -- grep a b c foo.txt" Which is not what I want. Is there a simple way to either pass an argv to subprocess launch under C# OR to convert an arbitrary argv into a string which is legal for windows and linux shell? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm wondering how MSSQL orders data that is returned from a query and the Id columns of the respective tables are all of type uniqueidentifier. I'm using NHibernate GuidComb when creating all of the GUIDs and do things like: Sheet sheet = sheetRepository.Get(_SheetGuid_); // has many lines items IList<SheetLineItem> lineItems = sheet.LineItems; I'm just trying to figure out how they'll be ordered when I do something like: foreach (SheetLineItem lineItem in lineItems) I can't see to find a good article on the way GUIDs are compared by SQL when being ordered, if that's what's happening.

  Within a webpage, upon loading, I fill a dataset with two table with a relation between those tables and then load the data into a repeater with a nested repeater. This can also occur after the user clicks on a button. The data gets loaded from a SQL database and the repeater datasource is set to the dataset after a postback. However, when ItemDataBound occurs the Item.Dataitem is always null.   I am looking to search for and replace a known string from within another string. Should I use str_replace() or ereg_replace()? The string to be replaced would be something similar to [+qStr+], [+bqID+], or [+aID+] and it would be being searched for in a code chunk similar to this: <li> [+qStr+] <ol class="mcAlpha"> <li><input type="radio" name="[+bqID+]" id="[+bqID+]_[+aID+]" value="[+aID+]" /><label for="[+bqID+]_[+aID+]">[+aStr+]</label></li> </ol> </li> I would be replacing the strings with the results from a MySQL query, and be performing this action or similar up to 200 times at a time. Which function str_replace() or ereg_replace() would be the easiest and/or quickest method to take.

  Hi, I need some Regex help. I need to find beacon_ followed by an alphanumeric code and then wrap it in quotation marks. For something static, like the example, below it's straight forward. myReturn = myReturn.replace( 'id=beacon_80291ee9b3', 'id="beacon_80291ee9b3"'); But, my problem is that the part after beacon is a random alphanumeric code. (However, it is always the same length). • Source Lookup Path is correct but debugger can't find file (Eclipse EE IDE)?

  When debugging stepping over each line does work. Stepping into a function located in another file debugger displays: Source not found. Also displays option for Edit Source Lookup Path... but the correct package is listed there. (Also tried pointing with the directory path.) No other breakpoints set, as is a common solution. Any point in the right direction is helpful. Thank You.   Hi, Can somebody help me for the following. I want to select a perticular string in the list displayed in android phone. If i take example of phone book. i want to pass a person name to the device using adb interface and that name should get highlighted in the list. I tried all adb commands for this but could pass string and key events to the screen but not able to select the respective string. please help. Thanks in advance.

  I have a hexidecimal string that I need to convert to a byte array. The best way (ie efficient and least code) is: string hexstr = "683A2134"; byte[] bytes = new byte[hexstr.Length/2]; for(int x = 0; x < bytes.Length; x++) { bytes[x] = Convert.ToByte(hexstr.Substring(x * 2, 2), 16); } In the case where I have a 32bit value I can do the following: string hexstr = "683A2134"; byte[] bytes = BitConverter.GetBytes(Convert.ToInt32(hexstr, 16)); However what about in the general case? Is there a better built in function, or a clearer (doesn't have to be faster, but still performant) way of doing this? I would prefer a built in function as there seems to be one for everything (well common things) except this particular conversion.

  Hi everyone, to parse a string to a date sql valid: SimpleDateFormat df = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd"); java.util.Date date = null; try { date = df.parse(dateimput); } catch (ParseException e2) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e2.printStackTrace(); } with dateimput is what i get from my form like that: String dateimput=request.getParameter("datepicker"); but when running see the error: java.text.ParseException: Format.parseObject(String) failed at java.text.Format.parseObject(Unknown Source) at ServletEdition.doPost(ServletEdition.java:70) so it mean that dateimput is not known + I note that it is correctly dislayed when: System.out.println("datepicker:" +dateimput); Thanks.
