• WCF over named pipes

  Hi I have a problem with following scenario: There is a windows service running which spawns several processes. These processes open a WCF service host over a named pipe binding. Now the parent windows service tries to ping (connect) to the child processes using the wcf proxy over the well known named pipe. This, however fails saying: "Endpoint not found" If I run the parent process as a console application it works fine. Any ideas? I was thinking about permissions but the child processes should inherit the permission of the service, besides they are in the same session as well. thanks, Christoph

• Does Process.StartInfo.Arguments support a UTF-8 string?

  Can you use a UTF-8 string as the Arguments for a StartInfo? I am trying to pass a UTF-8 (in this case a Japanese string) to an application as a console argument. Something like this (this is just an example! (cmd.exe would be a custom app)) var process = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); process.StartInfo.Arguments = "/K \"echo ????????\""; process.StartInfo.FileName = "cmd.exe"; process.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true; process.Start(); process.WaitForExit(); Executing this seems to loose the UTF-8 string and all the target application sees is "echo ?????????" When executing this command directly on the command line (by pasting the arguments) the target application receives the string correctly even though the command line itself doesn't seem to display it correctly. Do I need to do anything special to enable UTF-8 support in the arguments or is this just not supported?

  I'm trying to recreate the conditions that will cause this exception: System.AggregateException: A Task's exception(s) were not observed either by Waiting on the Task or accessing its Exception property. • HP MSR 30-10a Router - Route Traffic over Default Route

  We have a brand new HP MSR 30-10a Router. We have a fairly simple routing situation - we have two IP blocks, one which has a route out. We need things on the first block to go through the router, and out. I have an old Cisco 2801 router doing the job right now. For our example - IP Block 1: 50.203.110.232/29, Router interface on this block is 50.203.110.237, route out is 50.203.110.233. IP Block 2: 50.202.219.1/27, Router interface on this block at 50.202.219.20. I have a static route created for: 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 50.203.110.233 The router seems to understand this. When on the CLI via serial cable, I can ping 8.8.8.8 and hear responses from Google DNS. Woo hoo! The issue arrives when any client sits on the IP Block 2 side. I configured my client with a static IP of 50.202.219.15/27, default gateway 50.202.219.20. I can ping myself. I can ping the near side of the router (50.202.219.20), and I can ping the far side of the router (50.203.110.237. I cannot ping anything else in IP block 1, nor can I ping 8.8.8.8. The manuals haven't turned up a lot in this area that don't make the situation much more complicated (but maybe it needs to be more complicated?) Background: we use HP switches, and I love the CLI. I bought HP thinking the command line interface would be similar, or at least speak the same language. Whoops! I'd be happy to provide more information or perform any additional tests. Thanks in advance! Update 1: The manual mentions routing rules. I hadn't previously added these (since our Cisco 2801 seems to route anything by default). I added: ip ip-prefix 1 permit 0.0.0.0 0 less-equal 32 alas, still no dice.

  Dear All: Sorry this is probably a very simple question. I am using gradle http://www.gradle.org/ for my development environment. It works quite well! I have written a simple unit test that uses HtmlUnit and my own package. For my own package, I use java.util.Logger. HtmlUnit seems to use commons logging: http://htmlunit.sourceforge.net/logging.html I would like to see console output of my logging messages from java.util.Logger However, it seems that even messages at the info level are not displayed in my Unit Test Results GUI (System.err link), although the HtmlUnit messages are all displayed. • Select only items in a specific DIV using HtmlAgilityPack

  I'm trying to use the HtmlAgilityPack to pull all of the links from a page that are contained within a div declared as <div class='content'> However, when I use the code below I simply get ALL links on the entire page. This doesn't really make sense to me since I am calling SelectNodes from the sub-node I selected earlier (which when viewed in the debugger only shows the HTML from that specific div). So, it's like it's going back to the very root node every time I call SelectNodes. The code I use is below: HtmlWeb hw = new HtmlWeb(); HtmlDocument doc = hw.Load(@"http://example.com"); HtmlNode node = doc.DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode("//div[@class='content']"); foreach(HtmlNode link in node.SelectNodes("//a[@href]")) { Console.WriteLine(link.Value); } Is this the expected behavior? Server is a console application and does only calculation from client. Client's picturebox make some visualisation of calculation in picturebox. All calulations and relative classes are in dll file. Now I have to embed client application in web site. All kind of technologies are accepted, but I want to minimize forces applied to embedding. So, what is the best way to do embedding?

• Problem updating a database field from my controller

  I have an update method in my users controller that I call from a HTTPService in Flex 4. • Calling a method in a view controller from a view

  I have to invoke a method present in a view controller who's reference is available in the view. When I try to call the method like any other method, for some reason, iPhone just ignores the call. Can somebody explain as to why this happens and also how can I go about invoking this method? • How to move Mailboxes over from old Exchange 2007 to new EBS 2008 network?

  This q is similar to: http://serverfault.com/questions/39070/how-to-move-exchange-2003-mailbox-or-store-from-2003-to-2007-on-separate-networks Basically I am trying to move our exchange mailboxes over to a test domain that is hosting EBS2008 with Exchange 2007. We plan to move as soon as we can when we have our exchange data over. I have tried moving a db with mailboxes over but cannot get it to mount in the new Exchange in any way possible, including mounting it onto a recovery store. From my understanding the ONLY prerequisite for moving Exchange DBs across is that it must have the same Organizational name (unlike previous versions of Exchange). If anyone has any insight as to why I cannot mount and simply reattach the mailboxes, please give me an idea as to what could be wrong. It should be as simple as this. Note that the DBs I have are in a clean state. I cannot use ExMerge because I am not running any mailboxes on 2003. I have also tried using a 32bit Vista machine with the Export-Mailbox cmdlet to extract mailboxes but anything I do to it results in Permission errors. I have tried to troubleshoot these with no success. I am running in full admin with proper exchange roles and yet it still gives me access denied errors: Export-Mailbox : MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to make admin interface conn ection to server. (hr=0x80040115, ec=-2147221227) Also some errors show in the management console: get-MailboxDatabase Completed Warning: ERROR: Could not connect to the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on server TATOOINE.baytech.local. One of the following problems may be occurring: 1- The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is not running. 2- There is no network connectivity to server TATOOINE.baytech.local. 3- You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this command. The following permissions are required to perform this command: Exchange View-Only Administrator and local administrators group for the target server. 4- Credentials have been cached for an unpriviledged user. Try removing the entry for this server from Stored User Names and Passwords. Why I have to use a 32bit machine to export a simple .pst file is beyond me... So yeah I am now out of ideas and any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

• Chipmunk Physics or Box2D for C++ 2D GameEngine ?

  Hello, I'm developing what it's turning into a "cross-platform" 2D Game Engine, my initial platform target is iPhone OS, but could move on to Android or even some console like the PSP, or Nintendo DS, I want to keep my options open. My engine is developed in C++, and have been reading a lot about Box2D and Chipmunk but still I can't decide which one to use as my Physics Middleware. Chipmunk appears to have been made to be embedded easily, and Box2D seems to be widely used. Chipmunk is C , and Box2D is C++, but I've heard the API's of Box2D are much worse than chipmunk's API's. For now I will be using the engine shape creation and collision detection features for irregular polygons (not concave). I value: 1) Good API's 2) Easy to integrate. 3) Portability. And of course if you notice anything else, I would love to hear it. Which one do you think that would fit my needs better ?

• Crashes and freezes after fixing "BOOTMGR is missing" error

  I came back from a 3-day weekend to a computer that was off. I leave my PC on 24/7, so this was odd. Turn it on to get the dreaded "BOOTMGR is missing" screen. Two attempts at Windows Recovery and it booted into Windows fine. After an hour or so, I get a frozen Chrome and my start bar disappears. Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up an error box telling me that Ctrl+Alt+Del failed to work properly. Clicking on any open application triggers an error (I can't recall the error now, but it essentially just said that the application couldn't be found running or something along those lines). I restart, and again, the same thing happens after a while of use. I turn it on, install the 47 updates I have or so, and then restart it. After a while of use (under an hour), it just freezes completely. My thoughts are: SSDs, RAM or PS. My system specs below: (RAID0) 2 x Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML16GX3M4A1600C9 CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active 1 x ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard 1 x Hitachi GST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive 1 x Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 1 x SAPPHIRE 21197-00-40G Radeon HD 7970 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card 1 x Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler This is all crammed in a pretty small case (NZXT Vulcan) and has been running perfectly problem-free since January. The only thing out of the ordinary is that there is a fan in the case that is now making noise whereas the case has previously been completely silent. I have no reason to believe this is anything more then correlation, but felt it is worth mentioning. I believe it MAY be the SSDs simply because of the BOOTMGR error, but not sure how to test that theory. My belief that it may be the RAM is simply from experience with frozen machines. I haven't had the time to memtest it, but will. The PS being the culprit is something I've picked up by reading similar threads on various forums, and it seems plausible. I am unsure how to test this though. ANY insight whatsover would be greatly appreciated!

• Eclipse 3.5 and Ubuntu 9.10, subversion client does not work

  Hi, I had installed Eclipse 3.5 Yoxos on my Ubuntu 8.04 for month, and run fine. I had upgraded to 9.10 last week, and the subversion plugin does not work since upgrade. When I try to update or commit, Subversion work for hours without any progress in console or progress bars. I can delete files or add them to SVN, but commands wich involve network just hang. SVN run fine using command line. I have already patched the GDK problem. Since this I can cancel update/commit without crashing Eclipse. Regards Cédric

  This is a super newbie question, I've been programming for a while, but am just learning OOP. I have a class that works with user input via the C# console. There are different methods in this class to gather different input sets. I have another class that takes these input sets and puts them in a database. What is the best way to pass the input from my input class to my database insert class? My guess would be: Array1[] = inputClass.GetParameterSet1(); DatabaseInsertClass.InsertIntoDatabase1(Array1[]); Is there anything wrong with this or is there a better way to do this? Should I even have two classes (The database class could also take the user input)?

• Unable to save to wincache from cakePHP shell

  I'm trying to retrieve the weather from wunderground.com through their API, and store it in wincache. For testing purposes I made this function in the News model: public function updateWeather(){ $results = file_get_contents('http://api.wunderground.com/api/**api_key**/conditions/q/CA/Montreal.json'); $results = json_decode($results); return Cache::write('weather', $results); } It works fine when I call this from the controller. However, I can't figure why that same function doesn't work when called from the console. I made this shell in order to eventually add this to windows task scheduler. class WeatherShell extends AppShell { public $uses = array('News'); public function main() { $this->News->updateWeather(); } } When running this, I see that $results is correctly populated. I get 'true' from Cache::write(), however, I get 'false' when trying to read. What subtlety am I missing?

  Super nub question time! I am trying to use simplejson on the google appengine. In a terminal on my machine I have simplejson installed and working. But my when I try to import it in a script running on the appengine I get an error saying no such library exists. The interviewer asked me how will you convert an anonymous type into know type :( I am 100% sure ,we can not do that.The interviewer replied there is 200% chance to do that if you have a small work around.I was clueless.
