• Powershell and some simple string manipulation

  need some help with building a powershell script to help with some basic string manipulation. I know just enough powershell to get in trouble, but can't figure out the syntax or coding to make this work. I have a text file that looks like this - Here is your list of servers: server1 server2.domain.local server3 Total number of servers: 3 I need to take that text file and drop the first and last lines (Always first and last.) Then I need to take every other line and basically turn it into a CSV file. The final output should be a text file that looks like this - server1,server2.domain.local,server3 Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks!

• In a Maven project, what are reasons for either a nested or a flat directory layout?

  As my Maven project grows, I'm trying to stay on top of the project structure. So far, I have a nested directory layout with 2-3 levels, where there's a POM on each level with module entries corresponding to the directories at that level. POM inheritance (parent property) does not necessarily follow this, and is not relevant for the purpose of this question. Now, while the nested structure seems pretty natural to Maven, and it's nice and clean as long as you are on one particular level, I'm starting to get confused by what I look at in my IDE (Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA). I had a look at the Apache Felix sources, and they have a pretty complex project in what seems to be a flat directory structure, so I'm wondering if this would be a better way to go. What are some pros and cons for either approach that you have experienced in practice? Note that this question (which I found meanwhile) seems to be very similar. I'll leave it to the community to decide whether this should be closed as a duplicate.

  I receive encoded PDF files regularly. The encoding works like this: the PDFs can be displayed correctly in Acrobat Reader select all and copy the test via Acrobat Reader and paste in a text editor will show that the content are encoded so, examples are: 13579 -> 3579; hello -> jgnnq it's basically an offset (maybe swap) of ASCII characters. The question is how can I find the offset automatically when I have access to only a few samples. I cannot be sure whether the encoding offset is changed. All I know is some text will usually (if not always) show up, e.g. "Name:", "Summary:", "Total:", inside the PDF. Thank you!

  XCode won't open. I had it running fine a couple of weeks ago. Now I get the following error message when XCode tries to open: Internal Error File: /SourceCache/DevToolsBase/.../XCPlatformSpecification.m Line: 438 Object: <XCPlatformSp(ecification> Method: loadAllPlatforms The Mac OS X platform is missing - cannot set a default platform. Any idea what caused this or how I can recover? Changes I have made to my system (Snow Leopard) in the last couple of weeks include (a) allowing Software Update to run and (b) installing Eclipse IDE. But the problem may or may not be related to these changes.

  I am trying to work out the hits per hour from a database. Data basically is stored as follows (with other columns) : Table Name: Hits ============================ VisitorIP TIMESTAMP ---------------------------- 15.215.65.65 123456789 I want to display total hits per hour (within the last 6 hours ) including the hours that has no hits. • Forbid GridView to load all views at once

  I have about 700 items to display in the grid view. On a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 this is not a problem: it has enough memory. On a HTC Explorer the heap is overflown. So I want to load data dynamically regarding current scroll position (N rows for screen + 5 rows as a tail). And I want to show a scrollbar which represents the position in total rows. But I don't want to draw items that I don't see. In other words, I want to create something similar to UITableView in iOS. How can I do this?

  For a gcc cheatsheet I'm writing, I want to create a table which should describe how gcc interprets different file endings.   Hi, I have set up OpenSSH in my windows environment and wants to invoke a ANT script from a Linux environment. [sshexec] We cannot execute java [sshexec] which: not found BUILD SUCCESSFUL Total time: 2 seconds But, i can invoke the remote ANT script in Linux environment using SSHEXEC from windows. Can you please let me know, what could be the issue. JAVA_HOME is set in the windows environment variables. Where to set JAVA_HOME in the windows environment. Is there something similar to .bash_profile in windows. So that ANT process can pick it up.

• How to get cheap version control?

  Hello, I'm a programmer, contractor, self experimenter and so on. I'd need to have cheap version control. I've been working with Subversion and recently with Mercurial. I've seen around many cheap hosting but, even if they are great (like BitBucket), many of them don't allow many private projects (1 or 2). Much of the code I need to keep on VC is not open, maybe because it is stuff I'm working on for clients, or maybe because it's code I usually need for my development, but it is not intended and usable as a open source project. Now, I've a cheap web hosting, with unlimited space and free mysql. I CAN'T install Mercurial or SVN on those machinese, but I was asking myself if is it there a way to use a common CVS with it, with "common" I mean something that has its good IDE plugins (Eclipse or Netbeans) that may avoid me to write commands by hand.   I need an editor that outputs clean HTML, and preferably strict XHTML with CSS, as I am going to display the resulting pages as help pages in a java application using xhmtlrenderer ("Flying Saucer") which apparently very much prefers XHTML with CSS 2.1. Having searched stackoverflow for HTML editor and XHTML editor, I've found several mentioned. Aptana is one, Eclipse's Web Tools is another, and KompoZer is a third. I am going to try these out. With this question, I ask whether there are other good options that would satisfy my requirements, and if there are any one of these mentioned or new ones that you'd recommend in particular, that I should focus a bit extra on?

• Rails - Format number as currency format in the Getter

  I am making a simple retail commerce solution, where there are prices in a few different models. These prices contribute to a total price. Imagine paying $0.30 more for selecting a topping for your yogurt. When I set the price field to t.decimal :price, precision:8, scale:2 The database stores 6.50 as 6.5. I know in the standard rails way, you call number_to_currency(price) to get the formatted value in the Views. I need to programmatically call the price field as well formatted string, i.e. $6.50 a few places that are not directly part of the View. Also, my needs are simple (no currency conversion etc), I prefer to have the price formatted universally in the model without repeated calling number_to_currency in views. Is there a good way I can modify my getter for price such that it always returns two decimal place with a dollar sign, i.e. $6.50 when it's called? Thanks in advance.

• Duplicate an AppEngine Query object to create variations of a filter without affecting the base quer

  In my AppEngine project I have a need to use a certain filter as a base then apply various different extra filters to the end, retrieving the different result sets separately. e.g.: base_query = MyModel.all().filter('mainfilter', 123) Then I need to use the results of various sub queries separately: subquery1 = basequery.filter('subfilter1', 'xyz') #Do something with subquery1 results here subquery2 = basequery.filter('subfilter2', 'abc') #Do something with subquery2 results here Unfortunately 'filter()' affects the state of the basequery Query instance, rather than just returning a modified version. Is there any way to duplicate the Query object and use it as a base? Is there perhaps a standard Python way of duping an object that could be used? The extra filters are actually applied by the results of different forms dynamically within a wizard, and they use the 'running total' of the query in their branch to assess whether to ask further questions. Obviously I could pass around a rudimentary stack of filter criteria, but I'd rather use the Query itself if possible, as it adds simplicity and elegance to the solution.

  Hello guys, i am having trouble with my web application developed in GWT. the application allows users to upload and download using an upload servlet and a download servlet, the upload servlet was created using the gwtUpload library. the download servlet is using regular HTTPServlet. when i run the application within eclipse the download servlet works fine, when i deploy it to tomcat, when a user selects to upload a file, the file does not download, when a user selects a link to download a file, this error is returned type Status report message /testhibernategilead/downloadServlet description The requested resource (/testhibernategilead/downloadServlet) is not available. can anyone explain why this is

• [SCORM 2004] the cmi.total_time parameter does not return anything.

  I am programming a SCORM 2004 product. I can update the session_time, it works. I can set the status (passed, failed, etc...) I also can get the cmi.location time. No problems! But I don't succeed atingt get the total time (cmi.total_time). I have tested on 2 LMS: On Ganesha the API.GetValue('cmi.total_time') is an empty string. On Moodle the API.GetValue('cmi.total_time') is just a "P". I do have the correct logs with correct session times. EDIT. I also try on cloud.scorm.com and cmi.total_time returns each time PT0H0M0S.

Often worker who produce a greater quantity of output are paid at a higher rate. 1 - 199 pieces completed $0.50 each 200 - 399 $0.55 each (for all pieces) 400 - 599 $0.60 each 600 or more $0.65 each Input: For each worker, input the name and number of pieces completed. There should be one detail line for each worker, which shows the name, number of pieces, and the amount earned. Compute and print totals of the number of pieces and the dollar amount earned. Processing: For each person, compute the pay earned by multiplying the number of pieces by the appropriate price. Accumulate the total number of pieces and the total dollar amount paid. • Maven and db4o dependency

  I'm intrigued to test new frameworks in the Java world, and decided to create a new project that takes advantage of Maven and db4o. I'm starting to get a hang of Maven, but I have a hard time adding db4o as a dependency to the project. First problem is that db4o doesn't exist in the official Maven repositories. Next up comes the problem that db4o seem to have recently restructured their whole site's URI:s, so I'm getting 'site not found' messages all the time when I try to navigate their site. I found somewhere a potential Maven repository that should be at https://source.db4o.com/maven but I get all the time "Error reading archetype catalog https://source.db4o.com/maven Unable to locate resource in repository" when I try to access it. So, any suggestions on how I'll get db4o up through Maven? I've managing Maven through Eclipse with the M2Eclipse plugin.

• Linux application that bundles multiple incoming audio and video streams into one container file?

  I've been assigned to implement a video on-demand service for a local university. Different aspects of the lectures (video, audio, screen cast, white board) will be recorded. During a lecture all these data streams arrive at one Linux server. This server should transcode and bundle all these streams into one container (Matroska) file. My options seem to be: Write a GStreamer application do something with FFMPEG do something with VLC ...? Has anyone done something similar in the past? Can you recommend something? Edit For those interested, here are a few of my findings: Matroska is not a good format for streaming (it's possible, but it's not its primary intent) For Flash streaming you can use MPEG4 If you want to combine different videos into one video where each subvideo occupies a rectangular portion of the total screen, then this GStreamer script is useful (I found it on this blog post). Desktop capture works fine with VLC

  I understand that in order to sum array elements in Ruby one can use the inject method, i.e. array = [1,2,3,4,5]; puts array.inject(0, &:+) But how do I sum the properties of objects within an object array e.g. There's an array of objects and each object has a property "cash" for example. So I want to sum their cash balances into one total. Something like... array.cash.inject(0, &:+) (but this doesn't work) I realise I could probably make a new array composed only of the property cash and sum this, but I'm looking for a cleaner method if possible!

But hibernate is logging all its info in console. Can someone pls let me know a way to stop this? I tried in eclipse and from executable jar file, still the hibernate is keep logging in console. How it effects total time taken. I am working on Compact framework. Update: In the Eventhandler I had given a MsgBox. When I removed the message box it is now showing time taken as 110,121,etc i.e. less that 500 milliseconds. If I put the Msgbox back in eventhandler it shows 1200,1400,etc i.e. more that a second. More surprised now.(Event is raised after the logging part)

  I'm starting to get sick of IE's random problems. Page link. (Add things to the cart with the kjøp button and handlevogn) I have this little tiny code here, {foreach $cart.taxes.$currency as $tax} <div id="subTotalCaption2"><p style="width:100px;">{$tax.name_lang}:</p></div> <div id="taxAmount2"><p>{$tax.formattedAmount}</p></div> {/foreach} That's meant to display the amount of total tax for each of the items in the basket. (MVA 25%) This works in every other browser but not IE. Why? Why not? Just why? Any help at all would be very much appreciated.
