  Hi, I could not figure out how to enter text into HTML Editor using Watin. I tried //ie.TextField(Find.ById("htmlDetail_ctl06_ctl04")).TypeText("ABCD"); But got error: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus. Can you give some example how to enter text into AJAX HTML Editor using watin please? • Tips on implementing a custom UITextView interface on the iPhone?

  I am trying to implement a control to edit text that will display the text in multiple colors. None of the solutions I have attempted yet have been good enough. UITextView cannot accomplish this. All of the text must be the same color. Using CoreGraphics to draw the text does not allow the text to be selected. Using a UIWebView, DIV and PRE tags cannot be set to contentEditable on Mobile Safari. Currently playing with using an off-screen TEXTAREA and an on-screen DIV to show the rendered text. This works pretty well, except supporting all of these at the same time seems impossible: click-to-type, click-to-move-cursor, click-and-hold-select/copy/paste. Anyone have any tips on this predicament? I've been trying to find any preexisting library out there that will accomplish this in a good way, to no luck. I'm open to any ideas!

• SubSonic 2.2 missing stored procedures in StoredProcedures.cs when generated with sonic.exe

  We are trying to move from SubSonic 2.0.3 to 2.2 (not using .NET 3.5). When we regenerate the project using SubCommander\sonic.exe and try to compile we get some errors reporting missing members (which should have been automatically generated based on the stored procedures we have). On closer inspection it looks like my StoredProcedures.cs file is missing some (not all) automatically generated methods for my classes. As an example, I have 2 procs: [dbo]._ClassA_Func1 [dbo]._ClassA_Func2 Only one of these is being generated in the StoredProcedures.cs file. I have checked the permissions of both procs using fn_my_permissions and they seem identical. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can check? Thanks -- Mark

• LibraryContainer in a ScatterViewItem: resizing and background rectangle...

  Simple one: Want to add a LibraryContainer to a Surface ScatterView. Know I have to add the container inside a ScatterViewItem to get the rotate/move features.. but the SVI adds a rectangle box around the control, and it does not size correctly. Think I'm missing something simple but can't figure it... My current XAML is as follows: Background="{StaticResource WindowBackground}" AllowDrop="True" . . . Any thoughts are appreciated... I've been looking at the how-to samples but the library controls that are shown are static item. (ie they are not movable)... Rob

• How to set up asp.net membership with a web application instead of a web project

  Originally the site was set up using a Website project which ended up not working for various reasons. I'm trying to make it work as a web application project and have started from the ground up with a new project. I have looked online and not found a good resource that explains some of the "simple" things that are taken for granted when it's a website project. Some things specifically: How am I specifying the external sql database that the membership site should use? Is it possible to set privileges on a folder and require authentication when accessing that content or does each page need to check for itself? Once again, I'm looking for some resources I can use as I move forward as opposed to answers to specific questions (although those are welcome as well).

• Database entries existence depends on time / boolean value of a field changed automatically

  Hey, I have this situation here. An auction system listing orders that are "active" (their deadline didn't occur yet) There is a lot of orders so it is better to have a field "active" instead of listing them based on time queries I'm not a database expert, just a user. What is the best way to implement this scenario ? Do I have to manually check the "deadLine" field and change "active" status every once in a while ? Is Mysql able to change the field automatically ? How demanding are queries of type "select orders where "deadline" has passed " Do I need to use TIMESTAMP (long data type of number of milisecond since UTC epoch time or DATETIME for the queries to the database to be more efficient ? Finally I have to move old order entries to a different backup table .

  Hello, ist there a way to get a change notification if an attached property changed? A simple example is a Canvas with a Rectangle in it. The position of the Rectange is set by using the DepenendyProperties Canvas.Top and Canvas.Left. I'm using an Adorner to move the Rectangle around by changing the Canvas.Top and Canvas.Left. <Canvas Width="500" Height="500" > <Rectangle Width="40" Height="40" Canvas.Left="10" Canvas.Top="20" /> </Canvas> The next step is to create an Arrow between two Rectangles. In order to keep track of the moving Rectangles the Arrow must get a change notification whenever the position of a Rectanglechanges. This would be easy if I could just get a changed notification when the Attached Property Canvas.Topchanges. Thanks for any help, Michael

  Using ScatterView control shipped in Windows Touch WPF. I want to prevent inertia from happening on a scatterview item. But I still want to allow user to move, scale and rotate the item. So I try this... • Reformatting a table based photo gallery to a UL based gallery

  I have the following code: var table = $('.photogalleryTable').before('<ul class="photogallery"></ul>') table.find('td a').wrap('<li>').parent().appendTo('ul.photogallery'); table.remove(); This code finds a table with a list of photos and re-codes it to use a unordered list instead. The script works perfectly except for one issue. If there are 2 galleries on a page, the script will grab all of the images and reformat them into one list. Because the CMS I'm using tags each gallery table with .photogalleryTable, I'm not sure how to keep the script from touching the other galleries. What I would like to have happen is have the script re-format the first instance and then move on to the next instance, keeping the list of photos separate Is that possible?

• Apache mod rewrite rules to Zeus rewrite rules

  Hi, This morning I wanted to move my development website online (in a protected folder), but I figured out that our host (on a shared server) does not use apache mod_rewrite but Zeus rules. I've never heard about that before but it seems that apache rules could be automatically converted via a command line, but as you can guess I have no such access on the server. So, do you know any online coverter from Apache rules to Zeus ones? (I tried google but found nothing). Or could someone translate these simple rules with his server: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . index.php [L] It should normaly be something like: match URL into $ with ^[^\/]*\.html$ if matched then set URL = index.php endif But it just doesn't do anything, just the annoying 404 error page. • Unclickable NSWindow?

  I have an NSWindow in a Cocoa application with a fullscreen OpenGL context running above it. The NSWindow (is loaded from the default nib). It contains some buttons, but when I try to click them they do not press down as a normal aqua button does. I think this could have something to do with the first responder, but i'm not 100% sure. I can move the NSWindow around by it's title bar, but nothing inside it is clickable, nor are there any changes on rollover of the close and minimise buttons. How do I make my NSWindow (and the objects inside it) 'clickable'?

  I've been doing quite large application recently with Java - Swing. Now I'd like to move to web. Basically - I am not Microsoft guy, Java is fine with me. I've checked some basics of Java EE framework and decided that my choice will be Spring. I already am familiar with JDBC. Learning Spring is one thing, but working just with GUIs (C++ and Java) means that I have very poor knowledge of web development. Before I start reading tutorials of Spring MVC, what should I know to develop web solutions? I am mainly interested "how to" with graphics ... start from scratch or some nice IDE RAD-like development ? I kind of like f.e. Silverlight and integrating to web or asp.net win forms - allows us 'GUI' people develop faster. So can you please give me some useful advices? Thanx

• Dynamically resizing CMFCPropertySheet with PropSheetLook_OneNoteTabs style

  Hi everybody, I'm trying to resize dynamically a CMFCPropertySheet to add a custom control at the bottom of each page. As all Property Pages are not of the same height, I have a mechanism to increase the size if necessary. For this, I have overridden the OnActivatePage method and by using SetWindowPos, I can resize the sheet, first, then the tab control, then the page and finally I can move the OK/Cancel/Help buttons. It works fine with PropSheetLook_OutlookBar and PropSheetLook_Tabs styles but not with PropSheetLook_OneNoteTabs style. The page (or the tab) is not correctly resized (the lighter grey color of the page does not fill the sheet. OneNote style Outlook style Any idea? A MFC Feature Pack bug?

I want to give some demos using iPhone and iPad to look cool :p Now my problem is how to handle: Mouse Down Mouse Up Mouse Leave The multitouch interface of the iPhone (which I expect is similar to the iPad) handles mouse move on a browser has a scrolling event. One could try to capture the scrolling event and use it to simulate the dragging but I don't even know if it will be doable or if it will only be a hack. • Code folding for LaTeX in Emacs

  Is there an Emacs minor-mode (or piece of elisp code) that lets you selectively hide/show environments while in LaTeX mode? For instance, I would like to move to the beginning of a long \begin{figure} block, hit a keystroke, and have the contents of that figure environment hidden from view. Similarly with \begin{proof} and so on, and ideally even with \subsections. Is this possible? I just tried hs-minor-mode, allout-mode, and outline-minor-mode, but most of them don't recognize LaTeX's environments, e.g. hs-minor-mode fails with "scan error: unbalanced parentheses". I would prefer not to have to enter explicit folding marks like {{{ as in folding-mode. [Ideally it would be great if the folding were persistent, but I see that that question doesn't have an accepted answer yet.]

  I need to get information about applied CSS styles in HTML page. I used AxWebBrowser and iterate IHTMLDOMNode. I'm able to get all the data I need and move the code into my application. The problem is that this part is running inside of the background worker and I got exception when trying to instantiate the control. AxWebBrowser browser = new AxWebBrowser(); ActiveX control '8856f961-340a-11d0-a96b-00c04fd705a2' cannot be instantiated because the current thread is not in a single-threaded apartment. Is there any way how to solve this or other option than AxWebBrowser?

• How to pass an input value from a small form into a big form? (PHP, Javascript, URLs)

  I have a Wordpress website that needs to display a 3rd party newsletter signup form. This sign-up form has lots of fields and takes up its own full page. I want to display a simple "enter email address, hit submit" form at the top of every page. When the user hits submit, it should take them to the full form, where their email address is already pre-populated in the appropriate field. What's a good way to pass the input value from the short form to the long form? I'm inclined to use the URL somehow, but I've never approached it before. (My skills: expert XHTML/CSS. competent with WP theme hacking. comfortable enough with PHP and Javascript to move things around, but not enough to write them from scratch.) Thanks!

  I am displaying a list of articles. I sort my articles by the param order, and i want, when displaying the list of article to be able to "move" them up or down. In php i do everything with a for browsing my array of results and inside the for i go to the next index to find where i am in the list, and with wich other article i must swap my order. I can do that in the script displaying the edit page and then in the script executing the update. In rails i have only my form_for in my erb. How can i : Know if my entry is the last one or the first one(display only V for the first, ^ for the last and V^ for the rest) Update my DB entry by switching the order value between the article that i want to lower, raise, and the one he is taking the place.

• Simple comet example using php and jquery

  I have searched on google for hours without finding a good and simple example of the comet technique using PHP. I just need an example that uses a persistent HTTP connection or something similar. I dont want to use a polling technique because I have something like that set up and not only is it difficult to work with and manage its a big hog of resources. Also I am using IIS7 not Apache.   Hi all, I have a strong j2ee background, and I am trying to move to objective-c for some desktop/iphone programming. I used many java web frameworks with mvc in mind, spring and struts ecc... so I am used to have servlet or controller which pass attributes to jsp pages, which is the view. In jsp pages with jstl you can call this attribute and render to video. In this way controller and view are (in theory) clearly separated. With xcode, I can easily recognize the controller and the view built with IBuilder. All the tutorial I found, shown the controller which go and change directly labels or text fields. So my two questions: seems to me that there's no separation between the two (controller and view), where I am wrong in that ? is there a way for a controller to pack all objects in a kind of context in a j2ee way and have the view read that context ? thanks Leonardo

  Hi folks, I'm trying to develop an image focusing algorithm for some test automation work. I've chosen to use AForge.net, since it seems like a nice mature .net friendly system. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find information on building autofocus algorithms from scratch, so I've given it my best try: take image. apply sobel edge detection filter, which generates a greyscale edge outline. generate a histogram and save the standard dev. move camera one step closer to subject and take another picture. if the standard dev is smaller than previous one, we're getting more in focus. otherwise, we've past the optimal distance to be taking pictures. is there a better way? update: HUGE flaw in this, by the way. as I get past the optimal focus point, my "image in focus" value continues growing. you'd expect a parabolic-ish function looking at distance/focus-value, but in reality you get something that's more logarithmic

  Hi, I'm having a couple of problems with the JQuery tablesorter plugin. If you click on a column header, it should sort the data by this column, but there are a couple of problems: The rows are not properly sorted (1, 1, 2183, 236) The total row is included in the sort Regarding (2), I can't easily move the total row to a table footer, because the HTML is generated by the displaytag tag library over which I have limited control. Regarding (1), I don't understand why the sort doesn't work as I've used exactly the same JavaScript shown in the simplest example in the tablesorter tutorials. • actionscript swf: why the swf is cached in one web server

  Hi, I have one swf and a program to load this swf. The swf is put in a server. I encounter a weird problem that if I put this swf in serverA, each time my program will issue a http request to that webserver(with 304 response). But when I move the swf from serverA to serverB, some weird things happen, the progrom will only issue the first time http request, and after that, it didn't send any http request, it looks like it uses the cache in the disk. I wonder is how can I configure serverA make the behavior the same as serverB, as I guess the problem may exists in the http response that make the program not retrieving the swf from serverB any more.
